I can’t stop thinking about the Venom franchise so here’s more of my thoughts. Specifically on how Eddie looks and how it’s changed over the course of three movies (hint: it’s not that drastic)
Tumblr media
So in the first movie (2018) Eddie wears pretty much the same grey hoodie and sweats for the entire movie. It’s just what he wears. He sweats through the first hoodie (or well he gets soaked when Venom drags him through the ocean but he also sweats a lot. This man has issues) and when I first watched it I honestly was waiting for when he’d take off his shirt right? Like every movie with a man in it. But no. That never happened. He just stayed looking, well, rather pathetic. He’s gross and he knows it. He’s a sad little man and I adore that for him.
Tumblr media
Then the second movie rolls around (2021) and he still looks horrendous. But better. He’s no longer wearing that gross grey hoodie but he’s still no better. His life is more put together and he has an alien husband but other than that he’s not changed much and that’s awesome. Honestly I love the pathetic look they have going for him, I feel if it turned into some thirst trap movie it wouldn’t have done as well because while objectively Tom Hardy is hot, Eddie isn’t. (Well he is but not really at the same time) He’s a loser. We know this. Venom knows this. Anne knows this. He just some sad guy with an alien and some chickens (who ARE alive) getting back to the point, Eddie isn’t some supermodel in this movie and it’s nice that they’re not trying to make him that. It’s refreshing to get a superhero movie where the main guy is literally the most loser to have ever losered
Tumblr media
And finally the most recent movie (2024) and Eddie is back to looking gross. He’s wearing the same San Francisco shirt (except for when he changes into the suit and looks so hot) but not only does he wear the same outfit for the entire movie he doesn’t have any fucking shoes. He’s somehow even lower than the first movie and he got dumped in that movie! Poor guy just needs to like shower and sleep for a week but he doesn’t get that cause the directors hate him. I feel so bad for Eddie but also it’s very on brand for him. I know this post is long and very all over the place it’s just been bugging me that not enough people appreciate how underwhelming Eddie Brock is. He’s not some hot, ripped guy who also has an alien, he’s a weird little dude who doesn’t seem to know what a shower is and also has an alien. And sure you could argue that his life is constantly falling apart in these movies but hey, my life is always falling apart and I still shower regularly. Semi regularly. Point is I shower. Thats really all this post is. Bragging that i shower (it’s not)

We all remember Venom quoting Osho, a philosopher, in Venom LTBC, right?
Cool. But have you read the WHOLE poem?
“If you love a person, you accept the total person. With all the defects. Because those defects are a part of the person. Never try to change a person you love, because the very effort to change says that you love half, and the other half of the person is not accepted . When you love, you simply love.” ― Osho
if that's not fucking gay i don't know what it is.
'When you love, you simply love.' FUCKKKKKK THEYRE SO IN LOVE IM GONNA CRY

Facts are the enemy of truth
I deeply appreciate the effort that was put into every detail in «Venom 2». Take this scene, for example. It is lovely in every way: dialogue, setting, lighting… the whole atmosphere
Tumblr media
The interesting thing about the setting is that was made especially for the scene
Because in our world the monument and that building with arches in the background are 3.76 km (2.34 mi) away from each other
Tumblr media
It’s cool that filmmakers took trouble to make it look great in the movie
The Miguel de Cervantes Memorial by Joseph Jacinto Mora is located in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. The statue was temporarily relocated or built for the filming purposes as it served as a symbolic reference to the theme of companionship and adventure
Also, after introducing Venom to Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, Eddie said «Facts are the enemy of truth». I did some research online and found out that this phrase is attributed to Cervantes. This is probably why Eddie remembered it. But the phrase itself does not actually belong to Cervantes. According to various websites (like this one https://literature.stackexchange.com/questions/24965/does-don-quijote-in-fact-say-facts-are-the-enemy-of-truth) the phrase does not appear in «Don Quixote de la Mancha» written by Miguel de Cervantes. It comes from a musical based on Cervantes' work (libretto by Dale Wassermann entitled "The Man of La Mancha")
P.S. Thank you, Roberto Carlos Rejas, for sharing this photo as a picture of Cervantes monument in Google maps

VENOM THE LAST DANCE HAD ME SOBBING
I was shaking in the darkness of the theater during the end. I dragged my best friend to go see it thinking it was going to be a cutesy movie about two husbands but NO. I might just sue the producers for emotional damages because it got me all in my feelings. One scene in particular that stuck out to me was when Venom and Eddie were just dropped off in Vegas and Venom was babbling about how he wanted to see a Broadway show in New York. Meanwhile, Eddie is zoning out on a married couple agreeing with Venom despite hating musicals OMGGG PLEASE THEY DESERVED THEIR HAPPY ENDING BEING HAPPILY MARRIED.
I stayed in my seat till the very end where a scene came up with that bartender from Mexico just being confused in Area 51 where pieces of Venom could still be laying around perhaps...?
I am begging on my knees that Venom is still somehow alive.
I smoked a cig right after so now my desperation is completely hidden from everywhere expect tumblr

Hey Lily, since we saw you and Scarlet with Venom and Carnage, do you still have Venom or is he with Eddie again?
Tumblr media
We do have things in common but there is one thing that happened to us in a different way: me and Eddie had to deal with both Riot and Carnage but Carnage had different hosts. Eddie had to deal with Cletus and I had to deal with Scarlet.

Dude, you are doing God's work. This is fucking amazing (could we get Tobey or Andrew back for it tho, I think they're too old now?-). This has to be the plot of Venom 4.
If I remember correctly, Venom died in that last Spider-man movie by being blown up? And as we see in Venom 1, Venom doesn't really die from anything, just really weakened. So after his (3rd?) 'death' in that movie (OG's plot) the story then continues after Venom heals once again.
2nd half of the movie, after fighting Spidey, we get our monster-fucker Symbrock romance (maybe even a family, ) after these two are reunited once again because they (at least Venom) really want it. Some Evidence (just from Last Dance):
"'We've been together for over a year.' 'A whole year?'" "You'd be a good father Eddie" "Do you think we could've had this life?" *While looking at a happy family in the car* "Woah, look at you! You should be voted sexiest man of the year!" *Eyes lingering on a newly-wed couple* etc.
Pretty much every comic-child of Venom was introduced in the venom series, either as the other symbiote allies in Venom 3, or the main villain in Venom 1/2, so having comic children coming into this happy family, probably won't happen.
However, nothing says new children can't be made.
Tom Hardy and the rest of the crew, please find this and make SOMETHING happen, I BEG.
My idea for a venom 4/spiderman 4:
Eddie ofc goes back to NYC and gets hired for the daily bugle (or the SONY variant of it). Hes ofc relapsed to his old self (like in the 1st movie after his break up with Anne) but besides being miserable hes also full of like, hatred ig?? (Think of it like the Eddie from Tobey's movies)
It basically plays out like in Tobey's movie, he's put up against Peter(Andrew🙏) and gets fired because of him so he goes to the church to ask god to kill spidey like in TASM LMAO but he finds ROACH!Venom there ☝️🤓
Let me cook chat let me C O O K👩‍🍳🗣
