@tohfuburger was kind enough to let me bother her again for another commission. This time of my Inquisition lovebirds!

I realized the other day that I never posted this absolute gem. My dear dear @christinasketch made this commission for me back in the day of my Vavara and her Cullen. How precious is this??

So I’m absolutely obsessed with commissioning @niklisson and I can’t be stopped. She captures my Vavara perfectly each time. She also is so incredibly patient with me and how picky I am about my bbys. Not to mention working hand and hand with me and my vision for Vavara’s “Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts” dress.

So @ib-gomes was beyond kind enough to let me commission her back to back. I asked for my Inquisitor Vavara again but I wanted something completely different than all my other commissions of her. I wanted more of a smiling/laughing candid feeling. And boy did Isabela nail it. I simply adore this rendition of my quizzy. Thank you oh so much.

Vavara as a Child.

I was tagged by the one of my favs @justanartsysideblog! I’m doing this for my quizzy Vavara. Unfortunately I cannot draw and I have no images of young Vavara so imagination is key here. She was precious, I promise.

Who named them/Significance of their name:

It was a name both her parents agreed on. They stumbled upon a variation of the name during their travels and changed it a bit to suit their tastes.

Home they grew up in:

Vavara grew up clanless and spent the majority of her childhood traveling with just her parents. Her father was a gifted elemental mage and her mother a trained assassin. They went from city to city, town to town, selling their skill-sets to whoever would pay.

Relationship with parents:

Her relationship with her parents was stable enough. Her mother and father made sure to alternate jobs between the two of them so someone was always there to care for Vavara. They both were diligent in teaching her their separate trades. They could be tough on her due to their strong desire to instill a sense of survival and independence within her but she did experience a healthy enough dose of love from both of them. Her mother was a great storyteller and would keep Vavara up until the wee hours of the night with regales of deadly adventures while her father had a lovely singing voice and would lull her to sleep when she awoke from nightmares plagued by murderers and bandits.

Three Words to describe them as a child:

Quizzical, adventurous, independent.

Childhood friend(s):

During her time with her parents she had none. Their lifestyle couldn’t support any connections outside of the family. But after The Blight took her parents and she joined the Lavellan clan she became close with an elven mage named Neeva who is a couple of years her junior. They spent their adolescent years together with Vavara constantly getting her into trouble.

Favorite Toy:

A small wooden practice dagger that her mother had given her and a beautiful lion figurine carved from a single piece of amber that her father had brought back for her after one of his solo travels. Both are still in her possession. 

Childhood Trauma:

Not to sound terribly cliché but the death of her parents. In her eyes her parents were invincible and to see two strong individuals fall to something that no one could do anything about really shook Vavara to her core. 

Hobbies:

Gathering knowledge whether it’s through reading, adventuring, storytelling, etc. She’s always hungry for it. She also collects things that remind her of happy memories. Like when she comes across valuables she never sells the sapphires or pearls because they’re her favorites or amber because it reminds her of a certain commander’s eyes.

Childhood fear(s):

Losing those close to her. She has a hard time making friends but when she does she’s fiercely loyal and it would really take a toll on her if she were to lose someone or be betrayed them. AHEM *Solas*. And spiders, she freggin hates spiders.

Quirks:

She wrinkles/twitches her nose. It’s not really a clear indicator of anything since she does it often and in response to many things.
