New OC just dropped. >.> I dont have an alt problem! You've got a alt problem!
Anywhoo. This is Vanyael Ashkevron! Mah new Worgen magi and fortune teller. She's a sweetheart and I'm so thrilled because I'm getting to use my fave book series form of Fortune Telling, Pattern Reading, instead of the traditional means so she's unique in the sense of how I do her diving.

TES-Inktober 2023, Day 1: Music
I always pictured Lilienne to be the only one in the group that is musically gifted. Vanyael on the other hand is currently arrested for auditory war crimes.
Also the colors are slightly off and I realized hands are hard. (Also I haven't drawn in ages and never really learned it so...)

Vanyael vaulting into action
Note: As a thief she’s supposed to be stealthy, but her take on that is basically: ”There are no witnesses if everyone is dead.”
She’s basically written to be Nirn’s most impatient and hot-headed thief, with varying results.

Cyrus, Telderion/Rakes, Vanyael and Lilienne: Possibly the biggest gang of idiots in Tamriel, although they look almost competent here (Spoiler alert: they most certainly are not)
Originally I created these dorks as throwaway satire characters but over time they grew on me, help

Character Spotlight: Vanyael
Vanyael, the archer and thief girl, is the first person to join Cyrus’ party. She is supposed to look a lot like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Golden hair in a large ponytail, orange-ish eyes, leather armor and a typically tough appearance are her most obvious traits. A scar on her left cheek additionally proves that she is much more versatile in combat than Cyrus, which is not suprising if you consider her line of work. On the other side, she tends to act rash and thoughtless, which leads to “oops” moments like this:

Coupled with Cyrus’ more cautious approach to situations, conflicts between them are a common occurence.

Totally lore-friendly Halloween party at Castle Bruma
In which Cyrus dresses as a vampire, Vanyael as a Dark Brotherhood member, Telderion as a Dremora and Lilienne... does something.
Tumblr media
C: By Akatosh, what on Nirn is that?!?
L: Bound armor. Summoned, obviously.
Tumblr media
C: Summoned from where?
L: I don’t know. Some plane of Oblivion, maybe?
C: You know what, it doesn’t even matter. Go change this instant, this looks absolutely unfitting and ridculous!
Tumblr media
L: ... I hate this family.

Chapter 5 is out. In it, Cyrus obtains his first (pseude) legendary weapon and has a heart-to-heart (or, more accurately, bear-to-heart) conversation with Vanyael while making their way to Skingrad.

Author’s notes: Characters
Herein I will give a bit of info about the planned characters in the story I’m currently writing.
Cyrus Amentius is the de-facto leader of the group and the main character. He is an Imperial priest and support mage and is supposed to look as plain and boring as possible. This is reflected in his low to mediocre skills at everything, except for decent book-smarts and restoration magic, which he is very proficient in. It’s not helping him much though, and coupled with his gloomy attitude, low self-esteem, cowardice and short temper makes him the exact opposite of what the hero in such a crisis usually is portrayed as. He is guided by a strong sense of morality though and kind of wants to help people as best as he can, so he has that going for him.
Vanyael is a Bosmer thief/archer and fills the role of the rogue of the group. The only problem with that is that she is way too foolhardy and impatient for that and prefers to jump into battles without thinking and usually causes more trouble than it’s worth. She’s skilled at archery, illusion magic and proficient in using twin daggers though, which make her a vital asset despite her flaws. She’s also kind of avaricious and sometimes not the sharpest tool in the shed, so that’s something to keep in mind.
Lilienne is the mage of the group, a Breton with a mysterious past. The main thing that sets her apart from other mages in Cyrodiil is her excessively childish, bubbly and goofy behavior. From her general appearance to her mannerisms, everything she does is overly cutesy and eccentric. Despite that, she proves to be an extremely powerful mage, mainly using destruction and alteration spells, though oftentimes she acts as if she’s completely oblivious to all the mayhem around her.
Telderion serves as the powerhouse and tank of the group, although he doesn’t uphold a corporeal existence anymore. He takes the form of a sentient elven claymore, infused with the soul of an ancient Ayleid warrior that can somewhat influence the wielder of the weapon. His current host is a particularly buff Xivilai named Rakes (for short), which makes him the perfect partner to stand at the front lines together. But as everyone else in the party, this character also has his drawbacks: Because he stems from an ancient higher elven civilization, he is extremely conceited and haughty and constantly belittles humans. Additionally, he shows great interest in history and ancient Ayleid culture.
A fun fact at the side: None of them is supposed to be the Hero of Kvatch, aka the player character. That one is its own character that appears in the story, but takes more of an antagonistic role in the grand scheme of things. I have plans to include some other characters of the main game, too. Also, none of them are actual characters I actually played as in the games, I created them from scratch for exactly this purpose.
