Vans Evolves Its Style Offerings with the All-Terrain MTE Crosspath

I had no interest in the man or in the paintings. I have been painting since I was 17-ish, been colouring using crayons since 6 and drawing, too (still using crayons). I would not say a non-interest, it’s more like… no exposure. And this one ex, he might be the MOST pretentious one out of all my rather-interesting-in-the-level-of-pretentiousness exes (What? I just found them hot being smarty-pants and know-it-alls! Not anymore, though. Hopefully. Finger-crossed. I think a big part of it was just that I am attracted to confidence, since I lack of it. People might see I have enough confidence to survive the world, but deep down, girl, the insecurities I have? It was all acting, all pretend, all fake-it-til-you-make-it attitude).

I really liked this one guy to the level that I left for Paris to visit Musee d’Orsay on a Wednesday (!) (I was not this girl at all, I’d rather watch some TV shows in my room in a cold day with indomie rebus). I arrived there and even queued in a line (!), ONLY to buy him something Van Gogh. Now I forget what I got him, but I got myself a box of postcards of Vincent’s paintings (pic attached).

Two weeks ago, I was in Oh!Some store in AEON Tanjung Barat, and I saw this Lego puzzle for Vincent’s Sunflowers. Took a picture of it because I REALLY wanted it (attached below) and then thought: “Shit, imagine if I never went out with that one ex, will I appreciate this as much as I do now? Will I even care to know who Van Gogh was???”. This thinking got to me couple of times actually: there’s also one of Vincent’s paintings in the Ashmolean in Oxford (“Restaurant de la Sirène, Asnières”) and I was so happy(?), proud(?), 반가운 (I don’t have the word in English, tapi semacam sangat senang dan bangga) pas ngelihat langsung Van Gogh’s painting in my reach, 5 mins walking from my office.

Just checked my googlemaps history and I went to Musee d’Orsay thrice (one with Octria, one by myself? and the last one on 2016 December 21st was the one in which I bought the postcards).

Inti postingan ini apa…? Aku pun tidak tahu. Lagi pengen rambling random aja. Tadinya mau bikin tulisan sok romantis mikir gimana crosspaths kita sama orang lain itu bisa ngasih lingering feeling, lingering knowledge yang Wallahualam kita nggak akan pernah tahu se-ngaruh apa kata-kata kita dan kesukaan kita di kehidupan orang ini. Gimana kalau Allah nggak ngasih aku kesempatan buat kenal sama ni satu orang mungkin I will read “Van Gogh” in passing and be like “meh”. Intinya jadinya mau berterima kasih aja sih sepertinya kepada Allah. Bersyukur sudah diberi kesempatan kenal, tahu, dan dekat sama orang sampai orang ini bisa mengenalkan sesuatu yang mungkin gak bermanfaat amat, tapi enriching my soul.

I think in the end kalau kenal atau dekat sama orang, walaupun udah nggak actively in touch lagi, yang bikin orang berkesan di aku itu adalah gimana orang ini ninggalin legacy di memory aku yang bikin aku occasionally kepikiran tentang dia. Gimana pas aku lagi randomly ngelihat sesuatu aku bakal keingetan: “Oh! Ini kan si Fulan dulu yang suka banget sama hal ini!”.

Do I miss him? Not necessarily. But if I had the chance to meet him I’d definitely say: “thanks for introducing Vincent Van Gogh to me!”

Sorry this is probably too long and specific but it just crossed my mind : So I was thinking...What about Integra having a younger sister, too naive and innocent, so big sis Integra tries to keep her out of the whole Vampire stuff? The reader of course knows about all the stuff but I mean as in she doesn't go out fighting vamps. So perhaps when Jan shows up and attacks Hellsing, perhaps they crosspaths? Instead of killing her maybe he takes her hostage? I don't know if you can do anythin w/ this

Your big sister has always been so special to you

Seeing how hard she works, both for the organization and for you makes you so proud

She tries so hard to protect you, but you want to help

You take on any small tasks she’ll give you, trying your hardest to help out

Sometimes she’ll have you help Walter clean or get you to answer the phone

Alucard and Seras both know to protect you but they do their best to avoid you

It’s just a precaution, if you were to get too close you might get hurt

The day the big shots came, Integra told you to stay out of sight

When the alarms went off you knew what to do

You were at the safe point in plenty of time

Even through the heavy metal doors you could hear gunshots and screams

It was terrifying, but the worst part was not knowing if your big sister was safe

In the safe room was everything you could ever need, including a gun with plenty of bullets

You knew how to use it, your sister had taught you that, so you grabbed it and headed out once it was quiet out

There was so much blood and so many bodies in the halls, you nearly puked at the sight, but you kept going

If you remembered correctly, Integra was only a few halls down, if you could just make it over there

Around a corner, you could hear someone whistling, so carefree, it disgusted you to think that someone could be enjoying this carnage

You tried to hide, but they turned the corner before you could

You put your gun up in fear, realizing it was pointless when you saw all the ghouls with a man in the lead

“Hold on fellas, who’s this?” He said, walking over to you

“Stay back! I-I know how to use this,” you threatened, although it didn’t help since you were shaking

“Awww, how sweet. Did ya hear that? I’m terrified,” he laughed, suddenly appearing behind you with a knife to your throat

“How about we have a little snack before we go get that Hellsing bitch?” He laughed right next to your ear

You shut your eyes in fear, realizing that you never should have left the safe room, had you just done as you were told none of this would have happened

But then he backed away, looking closely at your face

“Hey, you’re the little Hellsing sister. I bet your big sis would give anything to get you back huh? Change of plans boys, were taking this one for now.”

The man removes the knife from your throat but instead takes his hands and holds yours behind your back

He says something into a radio that you couldn’t hear clearly then leads you outside and into a van

As they were surveying the damage, Walter came to deliver the news that you were missing

Integra didn’t panic at first, not until she received the call from Jan where he had you tied up in front of the camera

He made his demands

“And you better hurry up cause I’m getting bored, and your little sis might have to entertain me.” He said, wrapping his hands around your body

Then the signal cut out
