twilight advent day 15: tell us about an oc you love (prompts here)

Vincent Van Dogh Cullen.

Vincent is from vampire’s best friend, where Esme adopts a senior dog with a disturbing lack of self-preservation. 

Vincent is about ten years old, he’s partially deaf, missing an ear, and can’t smell to save his life, which ironically probably saved his life. He had been in the shelter for over a year, his previous owner passing of old age and leaving no one to watch after “Champ.” 

Esme was at the shelter to donate some old drop cloths for them to use as shade structures or bedding when he trotted right up. It was only supposed to be a temporary foster home, to prove he could acclimate to a home. By the end of the week, he had been fully adopted. 

Carlisle had been at work for weeks, when he finally came home Vincent was fully at home and he had zero chance of telling her to send Vincent back, although he tried. Neither of them was a big fan of the other at first but they eventually become friends. Vincent will curl up in front of the fire in Carlisle’s study, which Carlisle keeps lit because he knows the old dog gets cold, or in Carlisle’s lap. Esme jokingly made them matching sweaters for Christmas, Carlisle rolled his eyes but has been caught wearing the said sweater on more than one occasion. With all the “kids” out of the house, and country, Vincent brings a little excitement and noise back to the place and Carlisle will never admit it but he’s always excited when the old dog greets him at the front door, a beloved Dracula plush hanging out of his mouth. 

Vincent can most often be found under Esme’s feet “supervising” her projects, although he often falls asleep on the job. They go for a short walk pretty much every morning before the sun is fully up or just after sunset, sometimes in the park beside the hospital so Carlisle can join them on his "lunch" break or at the very least wave at them from his office window. His breakfast and dinner are never a minute late, or early much to his chagrin. 

When the rest of the family meets Vincent Emmett’s first words are “you got Eddie in dog form!” He is very very correct with this observation.

Van Dogh (pronounced Dogg with a hard G), the talented but tortured artist who cut his bunny ear off when in a dark place. He has since met Asha the star of County Down and a little baby bunny is born. Van Dogh is in a good place now and happy with his beautiful partner and baby bunny. This picture depicts Van Dogh doing his self portraits depicting that dark period of his life. It is also a picture of Hope that you can come out of this dark place and find happiness which shows on his face with his partner and baby in his life now....

My sweet friend @deannadirector and I met on a plane ride from NYC to Burbank 2 years ago. We were seat mates and hit it off chatting and annoying the passenger in front of us when we discovered we lived mere miles away. Molly and her dog Vincent Van Dogh took a few walks together and when I decided to put deanna in the next book she decided to make her #valeriescateyescream flavor #doggiescreamsandwich a little oatmilk chicken and peanutbutter mixed with a ton of things dogs love. The other day we touched base when I found out Deanna decided to move back to Florida to be with her Mom for a while.
