Cutie Reviews: Kawaii Box Feb 20

Sorry for the wait DX my mom had surgery at the beginning of the month, then there was the holiday. Anyway, I’m just going to try to go through this a bit quickly, I wasn’t really feeling well this weekend and was sorta putting off working on anything. But recently I was moving my boxes around, things got mixed up, I got very confused over what I was supposed to be reviewing again (I have so many box pictures taken already, trying to work ahead) that I decided besides re-sorting them, I need to get some of these done again.  

I also feel a little embarrassed to see how large of a gap I am behind in comparison to my previous valentines day kawaii box.

(You might not be able to see it very well, but my entire booklet was pretty crinkled, my entire box was smashed up. It came like that in the mail.)

Word of the month: Chu - describes the sound of a “kiss”. 

Event of the Month: Feb 14 is Valentines Day/Barentein De

Konpeito Candy

Cute packaging that is re-sealable, very cute colors. These have a basic sugar flavor, but these are nice when you want a little sweetness.

Jinbe-san Plushies

A pair of marshmallowy plush Jinbe-san from San-X. You can keep them both or give one to someone special. They have a small magnet in them, allowing them to hold fins when they reunite.

Metallic Pencil Set & Sweet Drinks Pencil Caps

Our stationery items this month includes a set of metallic, eraser-less pencils in a set of five. While the booklet describes them as pink and purple, I assume they come in a few various sets, considering mine are green and blue. 

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ 

To go with our pencils, we have this adorable set of pencil toppers/caps. These are pretty cute, it would be fun to share them with friends. Although, considering our pencils, I wonder if maybe a sharpener would have been a better option.

These come in a few varieties, I got the Neon Pink set. On the back the names for each are “BEAR GUMMY“, “Happy blend“, and “NEW TASTE“. I think my favorite is the bear gummy design.

Majestic Jewelry Crown Stickers

So remember the smashed up box I mentioned? Sadly, this was the one item that got messed up as a result. Seeing the picture shrunk own like this you probably can’t tell, but up-close you can really see things are overlapping, shifted. They’re still usable and plenty cute to look at, but it’s a shame.

Daily Pill Organizer

Our next item is very cute, and pink :D but not everyone would have a use for one this small. You could use it for trivial little things if you don’t have medications or vitamins though. I ended up using it to store my mom’s medications from her surgery, she had to take 3-different pills each day, multiple times!

She’s recovering fine now, and she doesn’t need them anymore. Her other medicine is pre-packaged so this isn’t necessary. I was thinking of using it for vitamins.

Shimmery Heart Pen & Sweet Heart Lollipop Eraser

These are the last of the stationery items, and the box. Our pen features a pretty pearlescent base with a large, clear heart charm hanging from the lid with a smaller, glittery heart inside. It’s a basic black ink fine-tip.

This came in a few colors, I really wish I could have gotten pink but I think all of them are pretty. You can also remove the heart charm and attach it to other things if you wanted, which I really like because if you broke the pen or if it just wears down over time, you can still hang onto the charm :3 

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ 

Our last item is this simple, but cute eraser shaped like a heart on a lollipop stick. It was so sweet-looking I couldn’t bring myself to take it out of the packaging... and I probably won’t use it <3< I can’t help it, I love erasers, especially cutesy ones!

I could never use them, even when I was a little kid when I used to collect them. I could only use the really basic ones -or ones I had several of- without guilt. 

♥ Cutie Ranking ♥

Content - ♥ ♥ ♥ I was kind of conflicted this time around, only one item really suffered from the box being smashed up (unless you count the booklet), but it’s still usable as I mentioned. I like the items, but in comparison to last years Valentine’s Day box, this one almost felt like a little bit of a letdown. We also didn’t get a Blippo/Kawaii Box exclusive (that I know of) like we usually do.

Theme - ♥ ♥ ♥ Just looking at the theme specifically, I feel like this one really didn’t compare to the previous years. It was cute and sweet, and the items we got made sense- but it lacked that girly, cutesy charm I saw in the prior one and fell in love with. Also, why put a cute unicorn on the front if nothing inside the box goes with it?  

Total Rank: 6 out of 10 Cuties. It’s perfectly fine as is, but I keep comparing it to our last years box that i liked a lot. So by default, I found it hard to entirely appreciate this one as much as I could have; there’s also that the items are pretty small, and looking at the current price of the box I’m not sure if they really equal it. I did like the items though, they are still pretty cute.

I tried the Frankford Gummy Hearts Box Valentine's Candy with Waffle, Pizza, and Avocado Plushies and the heart gummies were pretty good. These heart gummies were soft and tasted like light strawberry flavor. These gummies were not overly sweet but I still miss the Disney Princess Gummy Hearts that tasted like grape, watermelon, and strawberry with some sugary coating on them. You get only four gummy hearts in each box. I would eat these again.

Plush Review

All three plush friends are adorable and very soft. I'm keeping these and they all remind me of the JellyCat Inc food plushies in design. I wonder if Frankford company was inspired or just made copycat plushies.

I tried the Amos Gummy Tic Tac Toe Movie Box Candy Movie Box Candy and it was pretty good.

These gummies had a light fruity taste and I like the marshmallow backs of the gummies.

These had a light cherry and strawberry taste these reminded me of the Haribo frog gummies with the marshmallow backs to the gummies.

These gummies were softer than the Haribo gummies.

These were lightly sweet to me.

I would eat these again.

I tried the Amos Sour Triple Hearts Gummy Movie Box Candy and it was pretty good.

These gummies had a light mixed berry taste and was lightly sour.

These gummies were lightly sour in taste which is a good thing.

These gummies were chewy and softer than the Haribo gummies in texture.

These gummies were lightly sweet and sour.

I would eat these again.

Got at Walmart.

I tried the Favorite Day Cherry, Strawberry& Banana Heart Shaped Valentines Gummies and these were pretty good.

These were very soft and chewy while also easy to eat.

These did have a mixed fruit flavor and I did taste a little more of the cherry and banana flavor but a tiny bit of the strawberry flavor.

These had a light sandy sugar texture that didn't scrape the roof of my mouth which is good.

These were sweet but not overly sweet to me and when I weighed all of these it weighed a even 170 grams.

I would eat these again.

I'm surprised these were still good.

Got at Target during Valentine's Day.
