As an aside, as I was trying to do research, I kept getting inundated with AI dresses. I swear to God, the dress websites are infested with fake AI renderings and it was so frustrating. What are some of your go-tos for outfits? Pinterest is AI central now.

POV: You/Your Tav and your lover are getting ready for a fancy night out, and your lover gets to choose your outfit. What are they putting you/your Tav in?

Halsin and Ingrid

If Halsin could have his way, they'd just go in their birthday suits.

But since clothing is something everyone insists on, he'd get help from Astarion in the construction of the outfit. I don't think he'd find exactly what he's looking for at the shops that cater to deep gnome sizing.

Halsin and Ingrid are pretty big nature dorks although Ingrid's interest tend to lean toward the undead and spores. She doesn't wear fancy dresses often, but she tends to wear simple outfits. Halsin would keep it simple and incorporate nature into the design, like having flowers, leaves, or vines as part of the design.

He would also make her a necklace with something he found in nature. Ingrid would be completely into it.

Gale and Vaira

Vaira doesn't really understand how to dress fancy by Faerûn standards. She's never had to be bothered with it at all. She'd happily acquiesce to whatever Gale decided on.

He would dress her like a goddess. After all, she might as well be one to him.

He would get it special made by his tailor in Waterdeep. (He has a tailor in Waterdeep. You can't convince me otherwise.) It would be intricate and elegant. He'd go for colors that complement her complexion, like pinks, darker greens, gold, or blues. People would mistake her for a githyanki dignitary based on the outfit alone.

She wouldn't know what to think at first, but she'd end up loving how it makes her feel like a queen. It also helps knowing how much thought he put into it.

So Vaira and Lae'zel probably are largely different bc of the kith'rak Vaira served in the Astral.

First note to bear in mind: Vaira is 3 years older than Lae'zel chronologically. They're technically the same age bc of Astral Plane stuff but Vaira is older.

Vaira has spent 3 years out in the Astral, she's already killed an illithid, she also serves a kith'rak who is a lot more lax than any Lae'zel has experienced.

So Vaira going off and constantly breaking protocol is partially because "Protocol might say seek out a Creche but I don't know if there's one nearby, so I am looking for one...I'm just keeping my options open."

She's frustrated by Lae'zel but I like to think she understands Lae'zel is a scared novice.

Domanda sul "posto" dei cani.

Leggevo quanto hai scritto sull'attivismo quando arrivo all'esempio che hai fatto: "Faccio un esempio: il cane non deve dormire sul letto perché deve stare al "suo posto" altrimenti diventa dominante e poi vi mangerà nel piatto. (fallacia logica, indovinate quale?)".

Avendo conosciuto negli ultimi anni diversi allevatori, educatori e addestratori, ho notato che non c'è una posizione univoca su quali sarebbero i posti usati dagli umani che dovrebbero o no essere condivisi con i cani.

In particolare mi è sembrato di capire che c'è una certa ostilità, da parte di chi addestra cani ed è un po' più avanti con gli anni, verso il condividere il divano o il letto adducendo come motivazione una lotta di potere o, come scritto da te con quello che mi sembra sarcasmo, "ci mangerà nel piatto".

Personalmente ritengo il non condividere certi spazi come il divano una perdita di buone occasioni per stare vicini, coccolarsi e più in generale essere un branco basato sulla voglia/bisogno di essere insieme ma mi rendo conto che il mio è un pensiero dato unicamente dall'affetto che provo per Joe (il mio cane) e Sam (il cane di mia sorella).

Mi chiedevo se veramente esista per la scienza cinofila "il posto del cane" o se è una concezione nata dal bisogno di certe persone di una gerarchia, di sentirsi padroni del cane e non compagni di vita.

@kon-igi ti saprà sicuramente dire cosa sto urlando in questo momento dopo aver letto la tua domanda, qui agevolo un suggerimento.

Intanto stabiliamo che non esiste un posto adatto al cane che non sia vicino a noi e più vicino è, più il cane avrà modo di rilassarsi completamente solo grazie al contatto fisico.

Dopotutto siamo entrambi mammiferi sociali.

Se ci sono problemi come aggressività e protezione della cuccia si lavora su quei problemi e li si risolvono, dormire insieme è un'attività che comporta limitazioni e rispetto reciproci e bisogna saperlo fare.

Se lo ricordo faccio una foto di un setter che mi dorme sul petto (ma sta imparando che non è necessario) e in quel caso gli dobbiamo insegnare che non è il modo più efficace di riposare assieme.

Se vuoi approfondire puoi leggere questo ma le nuove ricerche in etologia stanno smantellando tutta la teoria del capobranco come la intendevamo (e purtroppo alcuni ancora la intendono).

Purtroppo un cambiamento di paradigma scientifico, soprattutto di questa portata, che promuove gli animali da semplici macchine biologiche a esseri dotati di coscienza perché, in modo equivalente al nostro, "sentono" il mondo a livello emotivo, è un passaggio che alcuni non riescono o si rifiutano di fare per il peso delle responsabilità che dovrebbero assumersi per le loro azioni passate.

E con alcuni sto parlando anche di me e tutto quello che sto facendo da allora è per rimediare al dolore che ho inferto inutilmente.

In generale quando senti parlare di "dominanza", "capobranco" intesi in mdo autoritario piuttosto che come "base sicura" di riferimento sei di fronte a un residuato di un mondo che non sparirà mai troppo presto ma che non ha nessun fdondamento scientifico se non i testi di 50/100 anni fa e capirete che da allora la scienza di passi avanti ne ha fatti diversi.

La prossima volta che ti diranno cose del genere (il cane non può salire sul divano) chiedi come mai e ascolta con attenzione le motivazioni: è un ottimo esercizio per imparare a riconoscere le fallacie logiche.

Infine per chi non vuole che il cane salga sul divano o sul letto perché non li vuole sporcare (punto di vista assolutamente legittimo) può trovare un compromesso usando una copertina su cui fare "ancoraggio" e insegnarli a starci sopra in modo da non rischiare di imbrattare magari tutto di fango.

Se avete dubbi, chiedete pure, ho un sacco di peccati da scontare.

E ricordate sempre il decalogo di Vaira, il punto 3 se non ricordo male recita così:
