Chapter 20
The chapter starts off with Miyao updating Riri on what’s happened so far, and Riri’s reaction is, “You…confessed?!!”, and Miyao awkwardly answers, “Yeah, without thinking, I just…”
Riri is confused and agitated, going, “That said, why?! He already said ‘I might see you as more than a friend’, so why aren’t you dating yet?!! (I don’t understand!)”
Miyao (chuckling): I still haven’t gotten him to like me.
Riri (getting mad): …Isn’t Kurose-kun just toying with you…?!! (Are you getting tricked by him?!)
Miyao: He isn’t that kind of person! He only says what he truly thinks!
Riri looks concerned and ponders for a moment, before continuing to ask, “Regardless… You guys are already like this. Isn’t it painful for you that you’re still not dating? If it were me, I’d feel hurt… (You even got yourself into crutches for it–)”.
Miyao looks thoughtful, and answers, “...Is that so… is that how it is? …However, how should I say it… I…”. Miyao suddenly recalls Kurose’s declaration, “I definitely don’t like you, got that?!” and chuckles to herself.
Riri is confused and asks Miyao if she recalled something sweet. Miyao blushes a little and answers that even though she was told that she wouldn’t be liked, she still wants to do her best. She laughs, saying, “I’m weird, right?”
Riri gazes at Miyao and sighs with a smile on her face.
Riri (muttering softly): Perhaps this is what he likes about you, Mugi-chan.
Miyao: Huh, what?
Riri: Nothing— …Anyway! Do your best, then! I’m sure you’re just lacking some encouragement!
Miyao: How… do you think I should proceed to do my best? I… I want to become an exceptional girl, just like Riri-chan…
Riri suddenly answers darkly, “Eh? I’m no exceptional girl, you know. Yesterday, I got cheated on. I’m currently in a huge mess.” Miyao is shocked, going, “HAH?! (Your eyes are scary!!)”.
However, Riri replies that she still forgave her boyfriend, and Miyao looks extremely concerned - we see her thinking, ‘Riri-chan… is that really okay? Will you be happy?!’
Riri concludes by saying, “...To sum it up, you can’t take me as a reference! Because I am the clingy type! An exceptional girl needs to be independent!”
Miyao thinks to herself, ‘Independent… huh. That’s difficult…’
On another day in school, we see Miyao, still in crutches, at the shoe lockers. Tossing her indoor shoes onto the floor to wear them, Miyao thinks to herself, ‘As expected, the words of someone who’s experienced being in love are different…”
A schoolmate approaches Miyao and asks what happened to her and if she is injured. Miyao answers that she accidentally fell down. The schoolmate goes, “Oh dear, please take care~~”
A short while later, Miyao tries to pick up her school shoes, but realizes that she can’t reach them. The crutch slips on the floor and Miyao loses her balance, but Kurose appears and catches her fall!
Kurose asks, “Are you trying to break more bones?”. Miyao is flustered, thinking, ‘Uwuh…. uwah~~~!!!’.
Kurose picks up her school shoes for her and puts them in her shoe locker, while Miyao thanks him for his help. Miyao is too shy to meet Kurose’s gaze, thinking, ‘Ah… this is the first time we’re meeting after my confession…Oh no… I’m starting to get nervous…!’
Miyao blushes and shyly says, “Um… somehow, I- I feel really shy…”. Kurose looks at Miyao, then turns to walk away, replying, “Saying that you’re feeling shy, now that’s something to be shy about.”
Miyao is slightly taken aback by Kurose’s curt words, but thinks to herself, ‘That’s right… This is not the time to feel shy. I want to be close to you! I gotta work harder! If not, I’ll never be able to get you to fall for me!!’.
In class, the teacher points to a poster and announces that they’ll be having their school’s annual summer camp soon. The teacher excitedly says that they’ll be camping overnight for 1 day, and the class gets riled up. Miyao thinks to herself, ‘One night… that means, I can be together with Kurose-kun for the entire day…!!!’. She brightens up at the thought.
The teacher announces that they will now decide on the groupings for the camp. He asks everyone to split into groups of 5 with boys and girls together, and to write their names on a piece of paper.
Miyao thinks, ‘...Ah, what to do… My injury… even though I’ll probably be a lot better by the time of the camp, will my groupmates find me troublesome if I’m with them…?’. Miyao looks insecure amidst the chatter of her classmates, who are excitedly forming groups. We also see that Kurose’s two friends have gathered around him.
Miyao thinks, ‘...Regardless, regardless…!’ and we see her walking towards Kurose. Her heart thumping loudly, she holds up a piece of paper, saying, “Um…”, and Kurose looks at her. She thinks panickily, ‘If I tell them that I want to group with them, it’ll be a bother, right?! I might be turned down~~~!!’
Miyao goes again, saying, “Um…”, but before she can say anything, Kurose sighs, snatches the paper from Miyao’s hand, writes on the paper with a pen and throws the pen down on the table with a frown. Miyao is confused, but sees on the paper that Kurose has written all four of their names down - showing that Kurose is willing to form a group with her.
Miyao blushes and says, “...Thank you!”. Io laughs and tells Miyao that they were in fact planning to ask her along. However, they are still missing one member, so Io asks Miyao to find one more.
Miyao thinks, ‘Even though I get along with my classmates, there isn’t anyone that I can really consider myself close to…! What to do…?’.
Meanwhile, Miyao overhears another group of classmates asking aloud, “What are we going to do—? Aren’t we a 6-man group now?” “What to do–” “Should we decide by scissors-paper-rock?” “Eh, no!”
Miyao thinks to herself, ‘Having too many people is a pain too, huh.’, when someone from the group says, “...Ah, don’t, it’s fine! I will back out.”
Miyao notices the person who offered to back out - it’s a female classmate. The other girls in the group go, “Eh… Maasa-chan, is that really okay?” “Aren’t you going to feel left out?”
Maasa answers with a smile and a wink, “I don’t mind at all! Enjoy the camp!”. Miyao looks and is amazed at how cool Maasa is. Just as Maasa stands up to walk away, Miyao blurts out, “Excuse me!”, getting her attention.
Miyao asks Maasa, “If… if you’re fine with it, can we form a group…?!”. Kurose and his two friends watch and Io comments, “Oh, Akiyama? She’s one of our class reps along with Saku, right?”. Sakutarou confirms so.
Miyao panickily thinks, ‘I was too sudden. She must be surprised…’, but Maasa asks, “Can I?”.
Miyao brightens up and immediately answers, “Of… of course!!”. Maasa smiles and replies, “Then, I’ll be in your care.” Miyao is delighted.
Later, at the vending machine, Miyao thinks to herself, ‘Akiyama Maasa-san… is someone like her considered independent?’
Miyao drops a coin that she was trying to put back in her wallet and struggles to reach for it. Someone comes and picks up the coin for her - it’s Maasa. She hands Miyao the coin, going, “Here.”
Miyao is surprised and says, “Thank you, Akiyama-san!”. Maasa responds, “Just call me Maasa.”
Miyao thinks to herself that she’s really happy, and she begins, “...Say, earlier, you were really cool!”
Maasa: Eh?
Miyao: If it were me, I would definitely not be able to do that kind of thing. You even smiled while saying that… You’re really amazing.
Miyao continues, saying to Maasa enthusiastically, “Even though it’s really strange to say this to a fellow girl… I think it’s love at first sight!!! Will you be my friend?!”
Maasa looks unfazed and answers, “Ah— about that, I’m sorry.” Miyao looks frozen in shock.
Maasa explains, “I’m very happy to hear you say that you want to be my friend, but I still don’t really understand you, Miyao-san…”
Miyao responds, “Ah, you’re right! I’m sorry…!!” while thinking to herself, ‘Ah… I messed up again. The pain—!!! How embarrassing!! Ahhh–’
Maasa adds, “Also, being friends isn’t something that happens just by saying okay, you know?”, and walks away, leaving Miyao to process her words.
Miyao remains stunned for a moment and thinks, ‘...Hm? Was I… rejected…? Yet, somehow… how do I say this… I don’t feel resentful at all. Rather than that, I feel even more refreshed!!’
Miyao recalls Kurose’s curt words: “That’s heavy.” “It’s exhausting.” “The type that I can’t handle the most.” and narrates: …I also want to become a cool and hearty person!
Miyao watches as Maasa walks away and exclaims to herself, “Akiyama-san… is my mentor!!!”
Kurose, Io and Sakutarou suddenly appear behind Miyao with vending machine drinks, going, “Mentor?”, surprising Miyao, who asks in a flustered manner, “Uwah! Why are you guys here?!”

Greater Than the Gift
Fandom: Kagerou Project
Genre: Hurt/Comfort
Rated: K+
Words: 1,501
Summary: His Eyes had taken away his very rare, once-a-year only escape from this cruel world. But is that all really it?
For as long as little Kousuke could remember, birthdays meant receiving bigger portions of the food rations, getting prioritized for adoption, and most of all, everyone suddenly becoming kind to him. Then it’d be back to the cruel reality of him being too small, helpless, and weak right at the next day. Where him getting bullied, laughed at, and isolated was a normal routine.
However, it had actually been quite nice to revel in this momentary special treatment. At least, for once a year, he’d get a break from the unfairness and misery he’d been forced to live with despite his young age.But for the previous year, he’d started hearing voices. People’s real voices that tell him words that don’t usually match the ones they speak out loud. It was terrifying, traumatizing. And worse, he couldn’t help it.
And so, as the clock ticked towards the first hour of his seventh birthday, he’d feared the things he’d hear. It had already been bad enough to have to suffer through their countless mean thoughts directed at him every day. But tomorrow, the only day he’d looked forward to each year, would just be the worst. This ability he had gained cannot give him freedom from the harsh world anymore.
If only Hanako, his trusty dog best friend, had still been with him, he’d be okay. He’d been certain its thoughts only meant to comfort him like usual. And that alone would’ve been the perfect gift. But he had also known that would not be possible anymore.
Kousuke had felt the bed shift suddenly, the springs too noisy in the dark. He had turned around and saw the boy from the top bunk climbing down to sit on his bed. “Shuuya?”
“Hey. You’re crying again, huh?” The blonde boy had smiled wryly down at him.
“I’m sorry.” He had sat up as well. “Am I keeping you up?”
“Nah, it’s alright.” Shuuya had grinned. “You’d get a pass for everything in a few hours anyway, birthday boy.”
He had looked away. “A-ah, yeah, I guess.”
“Hmm?” The other boy had peered at him. “Why the long face? Ah, are you afraid of getting adopted?”
He had shaken his head fiercely. “No, I don’t think that would be a problem. No one wants a monster, so I’m sure I’d be safe.” Kousuke had tried smiling then. “Besides, no one gets adopted first, right? That was the promise. Tsubomi did quite well on her birthday two months ago.”
“Ah, yes. So,” Shuuya had winked, “not to pressure you or anything, but my friend, the pressure’s on you.”
“Huh?”
Shuuya had only chuckled. “Never mind that. I’m sure you’d do a great job displeasing those clients tomorrow.”
Kousuke had frowned. “I already displease everyone.”
Shuuya had stopped smiling then. “No, Kousuke, not… everyone.”
“Everyone!” he had repeated quite forcefully. “Even you and Tsubomi think I’m annoying!”
That had shut Shuuya up. Or rather, the boy didn’t have the heart to say anything more in his defense as Kousuke had begun to cry.
“I… I just want this to stop!” he had struggled to say in between sniffles, hands moving to cover his ears. “I’m sick of everyone lying to me! Especially tomorrow! Tomorrow would be the one day each year when everybody would act like they like me. Even if it’s just for a day, I’m happy with that. But now… now, it will never be the same again! Because I’d still hear what they really think of me – that they hate me, that they’re disgusted with me!” Kousuke had ended up curling into a ball and rocking himself back and forth until he calmed down.
It had been a long moment of nothing but his soft cries, so it was a surprise to feel the other boy’s presence still beside him.
He had looked up. “Y-you’re still here…?”
“Of course! I am your friend! Tsubomi and I are!” Shuuya had grinned again. “Even if you… well, do get on some people’s nerves at times, we will stay, because we’re your friends! And friends don’t usually give up on each other that easily, right? So just think: tomorrow, you may hear all sorts of mean stuff even if they give you their biggest smiles, but know that you’d also be hearing from at least two sincere kids. And that would be me and Tsu—“
“Quiet down, you two!” they had heard an older kid grumble from the opposite side of that room they shared with the other boys. “We’re trying to sleep here!”
Shuuya had only snickered before he patted a startled Kousuke’s head. “It’ll be okay. Cheer up! It’s supposed to be a happy birthday, right? And like I said, you’ve got us. So don’t worry.”
You’ve got us.
Kousuke had taken note of that phrase that resonated in his head as he laid back down. It had allowed him to survive his birthday that year, and the years after that, eventually learning how to control his power. True enough, he hadn’t been alone in achieving that.
You’ve got us.
As time passed, he’d also found out that anyone – classmates, teachers, coworkers, bosses, strangers – can think badly of you, intentionally or not, no matter how much kindness you show them. But by the end of the day, he’s got people he could count on to give him the truest smiles and the sincerest words of appreciation. Shuuya and Tsubomi, then the Tateyamas, and then Marry.
And this year, the even bigger set of friends he found waiting for him just as he opened their apartment door when he went home from work that day.
“Happy Birthday!” he was greeted in chorus.
Seto’s eyes widened. He’d kind of expected a little celebration (he’d been accidentally overhearing Marry and Momo’s plans since last week), but how the base turned out to look surprised him.
Because it seemed like his friends did some kind of big art project. Paint stains on the carpet he’s sure Kido had gotten mad at, Happy Birthday cutouts hanging from the center of the room, quite uneven streamers strewn across the walls, and a bunch of Post-its on the one right nearby. When he took a closer look, they were short notes signed by the Dan for him.
“Wow!” He looked back at his friends gathered in the middle of the living room. “T-thanks, everyone.”
“Sorry for the lack of artistry,” Momo said sheepishly. “We didn’t want to spend your money.”
“After all,” Ene piped in, “you’re the most responsible almost-adult here! Right, Master?”“Yeah, sure,” Shintaro deadpanned.
Seto smiled as he scratched the back of his head. “Oh, uh, thanks again, then?”
“But we did spend some— “
“Oh, shush you!” Momo interrupted Hibiya.
Kano laughed. “Oh, come on, there’s no point in keeping it a secret.”
He suddenly noticed the little medusa do the slightest twitch.
“You seriously said something like that, huh?” Kido raised an eyebrow at the blonde. “Though, you have a point. See that cake, Seto?”
Seto glanced at the dining table a few distances behind one of the living room couches.
“Uwah, Danchou, so straightforward!” Kano whined. “But yeah, that large, delicious-looking chocolate treat you’d normally see from that bakeshop just across the street,” he described carefully, “actually came from your paycheck.”
“Because I was supposed to help out with baking one,” Kido added, “but unfortunately I was helping the clumsiest person alive.”
Marry, who was standing in between the two, visibly tried to make herself small. “I-i-it was an accident…”
“Oh, come on, you guys! Stop bullying her.” A fond look on his face, Seto approached Marry and pat her head. “It’s okay. I’m sure you only meant well.”
“I just wanted to do something special for Seto,” she murmured. “Because Kano said you’d get tons of gifts from work already. Something about always being employee of the month?”
“And older women coworkers crushing on you,” Kano added.
“W-what?”
Marry glared at the deceiver for a moment before looking back at Seto and pursing her lips. “It looks like he’s right, though.”
Seto turned to the door where Marry had been eyeing the plastic bag he’d set down upon entering, which Konoha was now rummaging through. A few chocolate bars were already at the android’s feet.
“Those notes were just a last-minute idea I asked them to do.” Marry hung her head. “I’m really sorry.”
Today at work, he received pats on the back, unexpected favors, free food, little presents. But then again, he knew not everyone’s sincere. And he didn’t need his Eyes to confirm that. Just the other day, he witnessed some of these same people look at and speak of him maliciously.
“You know what?” Seto gently lifted her chin to properly look at her. “Those messages are actually the best gifts this year. Really, thank you. Believe me, it’s… the thought that counts.”
Seto had to smile again. Suddenly, that old saying had a whole different meaning to him now.

TRANSLATION: JOKER GAME 2ND YEAR D-CLASS, SAKUMA-SENSEI RETURNS!! PART 2
It’s the long awaited school trip!
Warning: 2226 words long. Lots of screaming. And ghosts???? Also, please don’t post somewhere else, just link back to this post. m(_ _)m
Text inside 「these」means that Odagiri is talking via LINE, and italicized text inside asterisks like * these * means that it’s the characters’ thoughts.
More middle school spy boys shenanigans after the cut!
Part 1 - 第1話 「an activity log of a certain day」 Part 3 - 第3話「All out! Evacuation Drill! 」
第2話「The Night Of The School Trip」
Sakuma: Okay, are you all here? So tomorrow, after breakfast you all should meet, well, since there's only 8 of you, it'll be your free time to explore. Meet up is at 8AM sharp at the front of the inn. Make sure you don't over sleep.
Hatano: Staying in a worn out, sloppy inn like this...
Amari: I heard the other classes are staying in a high class hotel near the station.
Miyoshi: Even during the school trip, they treat us like this…
Jitsui: It’s actually refreshing, isn’t it?
Sakuma: Don’t say that it’s worn out! That’s rude to the staff! Just say that it’s like an antique with a certain charm--…
Fukumoto: What about breakfast?
Sakuma: It seems like they’ll start serving at 7AM, but they won’t be serving it in your room like dinner earlier, so just go to the dining area by yourselves.
Tazaki: It’s a worn--…, charming inn and they do serve meals properly huh?
Odagiri: 「I don’t need breakfast, I just want to sleep until the last minute!」
Kaminaga: I don’t need it too…
Tazaki: Are you sure it’s alright that you’re out of bed, Kaminaga?
Miyoshi: Getting over-excited and eating so much during the all-you-can eat buffet earlier, you just reaped what you sowed.
Sakuma: Every single time we go out for a trip, someone always gets sick. Kaminaga, are you sure that you don’t want to take any medicine?
Kaminaga: Medicines are a bit--…
Fukumoto: Kaminaga has a trauma on medicines and syringes, so he’s no good with them.
Sakuma: I-is that so? Anyway, as stated in the sign outside, our group would be the only customers for today. But do not, DO NOT cause any trouble, okay?
Odagiri: 「Trust, zero! 」
Tazaki: Well, if you just look back on what happened earlier, it’s not surprising that our class aren’t trusted.
Amari: It’s because everyone’s so carefree~
Hatano: I don’t want to hear that from someone like you who didn’t even bring his travel itinerary with him!
Sakuma: Do you have any more questions?
Miyoshi: Yes.
Sakuma: Miyoshi?
Miyoshi: We’re sneaking out to explore the town after this, do you want to come with us, Sakuma-sensei?
Sakuma: DON’T YOU DARE SNEAK OUT, GO TO SLEEP!
Odagiri: 「I Googled the area earlier, but there’s nothing to see here.」
Fukumoto: There’s nothing around here, so there’s no point in going out.
Sakuma: It’s as Odagiri says. It’s better to not think of unnecessary things and promptly go to bed instead. Well then, I’ll be going back to my room next door.
Jitsui: Good night, Sakuma-sensei.
Sakuma: Yeah, good night.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Jitsui: Not even a grade schooler would sleep at 9 in the evening.
Hatano: Whoa, you change faces so fast!
Tazaki: Now that you think about it, with Kaminaga not being able to talk, it sure is quiet.
Fukumoto: Even though he’s the one who was looking forward to the school trip’s night the most. What a shame.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Kaminaga: The epitome of the school trip is of course, the night time! It’s a bit clichéd but we could play cards or have a pillow fight! HAHAHA! We could even talk about love! HAHAHA! AHAHAHAHA!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Kaminaga: I feel so sick…
Odagiri: 「Though he was very energetic during the day, who would’ve thought that he would be found in this miserable state…」
Hatano: Don’t add in some murder mystery narration!!
Jitsui: Kaminaga-san’s predisposition to misfortune is truly amazing.
Amari: Predisposition to misfortune?
Jitsui: Doesn’t he always gets caught up in something unfortunate and ends up getting the short end of the stick? Though at times, he gets incredibly good luck, so I guess that balances it out.
Amari: Oh, that’s right! He won the lottery in the shopping district the other day.
Tazaki: Heh, what an incredible small scale of luck.
Kaminaga: Let me go to the toilet… Ahh–… *falls down*
Fukumoto: Let me help you.
Odagiri: 「 I’ll help too! 」
Kaminaga: Aaaahhh….
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hatano: And so? What do we do?
Miyoshi: What to do huh… it seems like there’s no point in going out and exploring anyway.
Amari: I brought a lot of stuff! Let’s see, I have here card games and board games, around 5 each. Othello, go, shogi, chess and I also have darts, a table tennis set and oh! I also have a bingo set!
Hatano: You forgot to bring your travel itinerary but you brought all that useless games and stuff?!
Tazaki: Are you trying to start a gaming association or something?
Jitsui: So that was why you brought such a big bag.
Miyoshi: Considering Kaminaga’s state, wouldn’t it be fun to go against him?
Amari: Ah! Since this is a rare chance, I want us to have a pillow fight!
Hatano: EVEN THOUGH YOU BROUGHT ALL THAT STUFF?!
Tazaki: I’m actually envious of your carefree lifestyle.
Amari: It’s hard to think of what you want to do on the fly, so I just prepared for all the possibilities~
Jitsui: Amari-san, you’re saying a good thing, but you didn’t even bring the most important thing, which is the travel itinerary.
Amari: There, there, for now, let’s just have a pillow fight!
Miyoshi: I don’t know why you keep pushing for that, is there even any meaning in having a pillow fight, even now that we’re in middle school? That kind of game should only be for grade school--…
Tazaki: Oh my, I’m sorry~ my hand slipped~
Hatano: Uwah! Oi, oi, just now, you hit him squarely on the face…
Jitsui: And not only just the face, he also hit Miyoshi-san’s precious hair… what an admirable declaration of war!
Amari: Huh? Does this mean that the fight has begun?
Miyoshi: Heeeh… if you really want to do it, then I’ll join you in this pillow fight…
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
*Kaminaga throwing up*
Fukumoto: We’ll just be nearby, if you need help, just say so.
Odagiri: 「Live on! 」
Fukumoto: Speaking of which, it seems like you didn’t have motion sickness this time, Odagiri.
Odagiri: 「I brought some medicine, so no problem! 」
Fukumoto: Is that so? Then it’s good to hear.
Odagiri: 「I also brought a plastic bag, a bucket, a towel, and disposable gloves. I’m fully prepared for the worst possible scenario! 」
Fukumoto: I’d rather you be prepared in not throwing up instead.
Such an old inn like this, the darkness is overwhelming, it’s ominous.
Odagiri: 「Scary stories are forbidden! 」
Fukumoto: Oh, right, I’m sorry. We should talk about some other things instead.
Odagiri: 「That helps a lot.」
Fukumoto: I heard this story from Kaminaga the other day…
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Kaminaga: I was soooo sleepy that night, so when I sent a LINE message to a girl, I accidentally sent it to Jitsui! And the message I sent was full of heart emoticons! And when I woke up the next day and looked at my LINE account, it was nerve-wracking! How do you think he replied?! Jitsui: Sleep peacefully, F-O-R-E-V-E-R~ (♡) Kaminaga: That was the first time I’ve seen a very scary heart mark!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Fukumoto: …is what he said that happened.
Odagiri: 「That certainly is scary in a different way from earlier…」
Fukumoto: You’re right, let’s switch to a more light-hearted story.
Odagiri: 「Speaking of Kaminaga, I too, have a story from the other day…」
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Kaminaga: And then this store--… hey Odagiri! Are you listening?!
Odagiri: 「Yeah.」
Kaminaga: Ehh… you were totally just reading that thread in 3chan! Listen to my story--… huh? Something’s coming over here…
Odagiri: 「Isn’t it a pigeon? 」
Kaminaga: Oh?! Look, look! It landed on my shoulder!
Odagiri: 「It looks like it’s biting something! 」
Kaminaga: It’s a letter… let’s see… hmm?
Tazaki: Dear Kaminaga, Your pants’ zipper is open. Tazaki. Kaminaga: SAY IT IN PERSON!!!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Odagiri: 「…is what happened.」
Fukumoto: I see, a carrier pigeon huh? It’s well trained.
Odagiri: 「By the way, Kaminaga’s zipper was indeed, all the way open.」
Kaminaga: H-hey you guys… stop talking about me…
Fukumoto: Do you still feel like throwing up?
Kaminaga: I still feel--… urk!!
Odagiri: 「You’re making me remember that time when I suffered from motion sickness.」
*slow, heavy footsteps coming*
Odagiri: 「Ah! 」
Fukumoto: What’s wrong, Odagiri?
Odagiri: 「I think I heard footsteps…」
Fukumoto: Hm? I didn’t hear anything though--…
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Tazaki: Miyoshi, isn’t it about time that you’ve stopped targeting me? Also, if possible, don’t put hard things inside the pillowcase.
Miyoshi: Huh? You mean I can’t put this remote control inside the pillow~?
Hatano: Of course you can’t!
Amari: I’m already tired of this~ why don’t we play cards?
Hatano: Then, one last hit!
Amari: Oops…
Jitsui: Ouch.
Hatano: Oh shit--…
Jitsui: Oh, Hatano-san, you should be careful of your strength or else it’ll be troublesome, I thought my arm was going to break.
Hatano: I--… I’m truly very sorry!
Amari: Did something happen between you and Jitsui?
Hatano: It’s not really something… anyway if you accidentally do anything to that guy, it’s better to apologize at once. Or else he might curse you with black magic…
Miyoshi: Hm? Get back to your beds!
*sound of running footsteps*
Sakuma: You guys are being noisy! Didn’t I… tell you… to go… to sleep!? They’re asleep? That’s weird… I’m sure I heard sounds coming from here. Was I just hearing things? Or was it… a ghost?! No! That’s definitely not the case! I’m just tired!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Odagiri: Ah… ah… ah… ahhhh… ah…
Fukumoto: O-Odagiri! Calm down! You’re choking me!
Odagiri: Ah… ah… f-f-f-f-foot…. Footsteps! I--… i-i-it’s coming here!
Fukumoto: I-… I-I’m sure that’s just Sakuma-sensei! T-that’s why let go of my--… Ah! O-Odagiri! Wait!
Odagiri: *panting*
Fukumoto: O-… Odagiri!
Tazaki: What’s with you two? Why are you both out of breath?
Odagiri: Gho… there was….
Amari: Eh? You saw a UFO?!
Odagiri: THERE WAS A GHOST!
Amari: That’s it~?!
Hatano: It’s not just “that’s it~!”!! That’s a serious matter!
Tazaki: Hatano, are you perchance, scared of ghost stories too?
Hatano: I’m not scared! I-I just don’t want to hear about them!
Miyoshi: That actually counts as “scared”, you know.
Jitsui: Fukumoto-san, did you see it as well?
Fukumoto: I didn’t see if it truly was a ghost, but there really was a slow, heavy footsteps from the pitch black corridor that was coming closer…
Hatano: Ack--… GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!
Tazaki: Declaring that it’s a ghost just by hearing footsteps, I think that’s just your imagination.
Miyoshi: I disagree.
Hatano / Odagiri: Geh?!
Miyoshi: It was quite a long time ago, but this place used to be a cemetery. It seems like it was torn down to make way for this inn to be built. So I do think that there’s a possibility…
Hatano: No, no, no!
Odagiri: There’s no way--…!!
Miyoshi: There might be a ghost here who lost its place, with its grave torn down and it can’t get free…
Hatano / Odagiri: Ah… ah… aaah…..
Miyoshi: ...looking…. for the person responsible…
Hatano / Odagiri: GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Sakuma: YOU GUUUUUUUUUYS!!!!!!!!!!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hatano / Odagiri: GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Kaminaga: Just now… did someone a scream…? Fukumoto? Odagiri? What? What’s happening?
H-hey… F-Fukumoto…. O-…Odagiri…. Where are you…?
???? : Hurry up and move from there.
Kaminaga: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRGHHHH!!!!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Sakuma: Didn’t I tell you guys to not make any noise and to sleep already?! Didn’t I warn you not to make any trouble during the school trip?! If anything reaches Vice-Principal Mutou’s ears, you’ll never hear the end of him threatening to expel you guys again! Seriously! I thought that it was suspicious, that’s why I went out to patrol!
Fukumoto: So those footsteps from earlier was really just Sakuma-sensei, huh.
Odagiri: *sigh of relief*
Sakuma: Huh? By the way, where’s Kaminaga?
Kaminaga: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRGHHHH!!!!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Sakuma: Kaminaga! Get a hold of yourself, Kaminaga!
Kaminaga: Ah…. ah…
Sakuma: It looks like he fainted. For the meantime, let’s carry him back to his bed.
Amari: I’ll help you out!
Miyoshi: I wonder what he saw, to faint in front of the washroom like this.
Fukumoto: Maybe just like us, he mistook Sakuma-sensei’s footsteps as a ghost?
Jitsui: Then that wouldn’t match the timing of when he screamed.
Sakuma: Huh? Wait one moment, while I did patrol near you guys’ room, I did not go near the washroom at all.
Fukumoto: Eh?
Odagiri: Ah--… *faints*
Tazaki: This time it’s Odagiri, huh?
Amari: Hatano, are you alright?
Hatano: Huuh?! What are you talking about?! Why would I be not okay!?
Jitsui: But ever since earlier, you’ve been sticking close to me…
Hatano: S-shut up! H-hey Odagiri! Don’t faint just like that!
Odagiri: ugh….
Hatano: Oi! This guy is hopeless! Oi!
Miyoshi: Sakuma-sensei, there’s this one thing I want to ask. What does the inn’s welcome board say?
Sakuma: “Yuuki Private Academy - Middle School Department and Party”, why, is anything the matter?
Miyoshi: Is that so?
Sakuma: Hmm? Is there a connection between that and Kaminaga fainting?
Miyoshi: Who knows? Is it really the work of a ghost, or maybe it was something much more frightening than a ghost…
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Yuuki: Fainting after seeing a person face…
