Can I request an utaite/human cover of a VOCALOID song? Can I request the off vocal or an instrumental cover of a song?

This blog is for songs using voice synthesis technology, we do not post songs with human singers.

Do you post songs with voice synthesizers other than VOCALOID?

Yes, any type of vocal synthesizer is fair game (ex: UTAU, CeVIO, Synthesizer V, etc).

What is the policy on AI Vocals?

Please refer to this post for a detailed explanation of our stance on AI Vocals, what we consider to be ethical and unethical use of AI, and what we believe constitutes a proper vocal synth.

Can I request an album-only song?

We can only post songs from albums that are readily available to the public, click here for more info.

How many songs can I request in one ask?

Please only request a few songs at a time (1-3 per ask). This makes it easier for us to keep track of where we left off in the requests.

Why are some requests posted as videos? Why won’t some audio posts play?

Tumblr won’t let us upload certain songs as audio posts due to copyright. In these cases, we post a link to the official video instead. If an audio post doesn’t play, that means it was copyrighted some time after we originally uploaded it to this blog (est. 2013). If you let us know, we can repost it as a video.

X producer/cover artist/song is problematic. Can you remove their work form your blog?

Unless it is information that affects how we post, i.e. issues of miscrediting & plagiarism, please keep our inbox free from discourse and drama. Many people have worked together to run this blog over the years, all of whom have had different perspectives on what they’re comfortable posting. As such, the mods may exercise personal discretion on what song requests they post, but as a general rule we do not go back and delete songs that have already been posted.

i know there have definitely been some miku/vocaloid covers of other synth songs, especially from producers that aren't as well known but. it's immensely funny that so many more miku covers are popping up rn. especially of teto SV songs .

just like an aside though, like every synth can cover miku songs because some of her songs are literally just made to be bops and even the. existential ones apply across all the synths. unless it's a mega miku song like. it can be covered and i can forget it's a miku song.

even utaite versions like of her songs can basically become their own damn thing, (looking at aishite of course, kamippoi, my classic fav mafumafu's doppleganger). like I can listen to meiko versions of the snow white princess. anybody can do ghost rule. any wowaka song, i can listen to an 100x a row with the only difference between different synths ( or even different miku producers)

but a lot of songs from other synths songs are so iconic that I can't unhear the original??? Adachi rei songs? are adachi rei songs. defoko songs? defoko songs. utau teto songs? you are not replicating that. even teto sv like. they're just so distinct that if i were to listen to a miku cover i would just keep thinking about the original?!

like Miku can't even cover other vocaloid songs without me thinking about the original. like hearing her version of Roki? WEIRD. but Flower's version of Bring it On? BASED.

Like. Every Miku song can be covered by anyone but if Miku tries to cover anyone else's song I can't unhear the original, I can't just listen to it, I have to keep thinking about the original, it's ABSURD ...

Introducing illumi★NATION! 🪄

Formed in Season 5, illumi★NATION is a duo of idols from the fairy tale world. Their music is very cute and whimsical and sounds like they came out of a video game. They made quite a huge buzz on their debut as they are already big name idols in the local community. If they're involved in any event, you know the audience will be packed!

First up is their leader Megumi Shizukusa!

💧 One of my earlier idol OCs from the same era as Asuka and Sakura, underwent a 7-year time skip and got a slight redesign and was made much more confident (my original shy idol OC) but still soft and comfy.

💧 She had stage fright for the longest time and was timid around others, but her long-time friends and growing fanbase as a You-taite gave her a lot of much-needed confidence over the years.

💧 Just before Season 1, she became an icon in California's idol scene, performing in cons and local music fests. Many people, especially at ZetaPro, look up to her as a source of inspiration.

💧 Got pretty busy throughout Seasons 3 and 4 with increasing performance opportunities in local and out-of-state conventions, competing in karaoke competitions and voice acting for a mobile idol game along with the other member of illumi★NATION, Sumire.

💧 Has released her first original EP in Season 1 and her first full album in Season 4.

💧 ZetaPro finally got to meet her in person in Seattle for the first time in Season 4 in Seattle. It turns out she was watching ZetaPro behind the scenes and sees a lot of potential in them.

💧 Formed illumi★NATION in Season 5 with a fellow friend and utaite (Sumire) who came back from Japan after two-year long stint as a chika idol. Together, they work with a very talented British Columbia-based composer (and one of Zeta's big in-universe inspirations) to write their brand new duo songs.
