Eddie quietly hummed a beat to himself as he sat in the living room, his foot tapping along as well.
After a few moments he groans in frustration, throwing himself back onto the couch.
"Is everything ok in there?" You called out from the kitchen.
A moment of silence went by before footsteps of Eddie's boot came closer towards your location. "I have the perfect beat but I just can't find the lyrics to fit!" He explained, leaning on the counter, watching you move around the kitchen.
"I'm sure it'll hit you at a random point when you're not so stressed!" You reassured, pressing your hand on his chest, leaning into kiss eddie but a noise from the baby monitor.
You both sighed, you chuckled and tapped his chest.
"Go get our baby will you?" You asked, moving back to the stove to start prepping lunch.
"She always knows when her parents are about to have a moment.." Eddie chuckled before walking back to your guys room.
"There's the monster!" Eddie joked as he spotted your baby laying in the middle of the bed, she looked as if she had just popped out of the blanket, her baby hairs sticking up in different directions, just a diaper on, skin imprints on her tummy from laying on the blanket for the first hour of her nap.
"The pillow getcha?" Stacy, your daughter looked around the room before lifting her hands up towards eddie.
"It beats me up too, even gets your mama!" Eddie tickles her belly to get a laugh out.
"Does not!" You yelled from the kitchen. Eddie turned towards the baby monitor.
"She listens in, you believe that?" He jokes with the baby.

You peaked out the window blinds you and Eddie had in your bedroom, you watched as he mowed the grass in front of your house to fit the little pool the wheeler’s had bought for Stacy to use during the summer heat.
You grasped the towel on your chest, bathtime with a water baby was something else.
You glanced over towards your daughter where she sat on a bean bag chair, watching cartoons. She had her fist in her mouth, gnawing peacefully.
After getting a bottle of water for your boyfriend, you walked out of the small trailer and walked over to Eddie, who was filling the pool with the hose.
“Need water?” You asked as you walked closer. “I need something that’s not water.” He said, eyeing you up and down.
“Calm down, it’s mostly from the baby deciding to splash around today in the tub.” You both smiled.
“Either way, you’re a hot ass mom!” He kissed the hand that was handing over the water. “Oh yes, get back to doing the pool for your daughter!” You laughed and playfully shoved him away.

Summer’s in Indiana weren’t a fun game when you didn’t have consistent  AC going or a large pool.
You watched from a towel as your daughter splashed around in the baby pool.
“You enjoying the water S?” You giggled as she nodded, making her sunhat flop around.
Eddie sighed as he walked out from the trailer and into the heat, he walked past your yard and near the street, you assumed a buyer would be stopping by.
A little bit went by and you were right, a car filled with high school seniors pulled up.
You got up from the towel and walked over to Stacy, she had started to show signs of being in need of a nap, you bent over and picked her up, before grabbing the towel and dried your baby off before going inside to settle her down.

While waiting for the buyer to grab the money from the glovebox of the car, he couldn’t help but listen to the boys in the back talking.
“It might be fucked up but i think im in love y/n, my god!”
“I knew y/n was always gonna be a milf!”
“Stacy’s mom got it going on, holy shit!”
Eddie’s head popped up, as the buyer handed him the money. Eddie handed the baggie of pills before walking away, the last comment about his comment stuck in his head.
“Stacy’s mom..?” He whispered, he sat down at the small dining table and picked up the paper he had laying around and scrambled to find a pen as the lyrics started to flow out.
You watched from the kitchen as Eddie scrambled around the living room for his guitar before playing a beat and muttering things to himself as he played.
After a few hours, he had jumped up from the table and walked over towards you, on the couch.
He leaned down and kissed you. “I love you.” You stared at him for a second. “What did you do?” You questioned, suspiciously.
“Nothing bad, I just wrote a song about you.” You raised an eyebrow, his answer peeked your interest.
“And what is this song about exactly?” You twirled one of his stray curls between your fingers. “Let me get my guitar and you’ll be my first listener.” You nodded and watched as he ran once again for his guitar.
“Stacy’s mom has got it going on, she’s all I want and I've waited for so long!” He sang to the beat.
“Stacy can’t you see, you’re just not the girl for me. I know it might be wrong but I'm in love with Stacy's mom.” He paused and watched your face for a reaction.
You smiled and clapped for him. “I love it! You’re basically saying I'm a hot mom!” You squealed, Eddie chuckled and kissed your shoulder and you wrapped your arms to give him a hug.
“She’s so gonna hate you for this song when she’s older ya’ know?” You said, still hugging.
“Oh I bet, especially since everyone knows who Stacy's mom is..” You both laughed.
“We’re so mean.” Eddie chuckled and kissed you.
“I know, now kiss me Stacy's mom!”

So I watched Glass Onion. And I have some very fun obversations turned info dumping turned (positive) ranting to do about the brilliance of this movie. Warning for SPOILERS
• Benoit Blancs husband (Phillip I belived) had flour/dough on his face when he opened the door, insinuating he's a messy baker. Just an extra detail I noticed that really shows the effort put into the movie both by actors and writers
• The very real incorporation of covid into the movies universe. That was an interesting thing for me. Adds for some funny gags (like the among us scene, not getting over that ever actually) and some real insight to the characters shitty personalities (Birdies mesh mask, and the fact that Miles was probably pretending to have a vaccine just so he could get them to take off their masks since that man never created anything on his own)
• This is probably my own mind spinning things up, but the name Miles for a billionaire who got everything through stealing ideas? And taking the credit? By "walking a mile in their shoes" but not really? Or he could just be an asshole with the most generic white guy name ever idk
• You could clearly tell there was a class thing going on. Birdie only stopped flirting with Blanc when he mentioned being a buyer of her product. Not as if to say, how I've seen other people point out, only gay men wear sweatpants so she suddenly decided she couldn't flirt with him oops my bad. Moreso, it was Blanc lying (or telling the truth, who knows maybe he does buy them) about wearing her brand simply so he can divide the line between them socially. As if to say, "I know you'll stop touching me if I clarify I'm not anywhere near your status. I am your target market. Something you don't give a second thought about." Between that and how Peg clearly didn't fit despute having hung around that group for 10 years as Birdies assitant, a lot of this movies positive and negative energy depended on who was interacting with who and if they were "good enough" for the others gaze
• I think a lot of people caught the symbolizm between all of the famous paintings being incorporated into the movie (Helen's smile at the end reminiscent of the Mona Lisa, Miles scream at the painting being destroyed a life like recreation of the painting Scream, everyone sitting at dinner like The Last Supper in multiple shots) but I thought it was worth mentioning again for the sheer brilliance
• Miles' tantrum he throws while calling Helen a child, despite her having been probably one of the most adult people in the entire movie. Mind you Miles was the same person who minutes ago was shaking in rage at his previous car—the very same car he had rode in to kill Andi in—smashing through his glass ceiling
• Plus, a rich guy with an all glass house barefoot? He truly belived nothing could ever go wrong in his perfect world; his perfect mic-mansion house. That nothing would be broken or shattered for him to potentially step on later. And I mean that both metaphorically and litteraly

Marked for Carnage - Chapter 5 (Juice x OC Fic)
Tumblr media
Marked for Carnage Masterlist
A/N: Chapter 5 is here. Sorry if this isn't the best - I wanted to get it uploaded and haven't had a lot of time to edit. More Juice and Ronnie 1 on 1 time is coming I promise!
Word Count: 2774 words
Ronnie shakily brought the glass of water up to her lips that Jax had bought over to her. Taking a large gulp, she closed her eyes and tried to calm her racing heart. She could hear the men in the room beginning to speak, trying to piece together what was happening. "Who's Mark?" Tig asked. Ronnie only shook her head, her tongue a dead weight in her mouth. "Her piece of shit ex," Opie explained for her. "Used to smack her around. He's the reason she left Charming." Piney's grip on his daughters shoulder tightened. "And why is this jerk off still breathing?" Tig continued. "Because…" Ronnie exhaled. "He's a low level drug dealing shit stain, but he's not worth going to jail for murder over." Ronnie stood abruptly, beginning to pace. Opie, Piney and Jax all began protesting and arguing over what should be done, but she ignored them and rested her hands on the edge of the bar. A hand on her shoulder made her jump. She turned to find Tig looking down at her with a soft smile on his face. "Hey Tiggy," she smiled, her eyes still glassy. "Didn’t even know you were back, kid," he said, and pulled her into a brief, one-armed embrace. "Didn’t want it to be a big thing," Ronnie shrugged. "Now you know why."
"I want someone on Ronnie's house," Ronnie heard Piney say, his gruff voice sounding over the fray. "No dad," Ronnie began. "I don't want to take anyone from the club. I can handle my shit, he just freaked me out." Piney shook his head, Opie agreeing with him. "He doesn’t even know where I live," she continued. "Wouldn’t be hard for him to find out," Jax said. Piney looked to where Clay was sitting. Clay shrugged. "I don't got the numbers at the moment. I can give you the Prospect." Piney growled, adjusting the cannula in his nose. "Not happening," he chided. "Seriously it's fine, pops. Look, I'm sorry to burst in like this, Clay," Ronnie turned to the President. Clay waved a hand in her direction. "All good, kid. You’re family," he shrugged. Ronnie smiled flatly and made her way out of the clubhouse, Piney and Opie following her.
"Dad's right," Opie began. "You should have someone stay with you." Ronnie whirled around to face her brother. "You're really giving me whiplash here, Ope," she threw her arms out in exasperation. "Last time we talked you nearly ripped my head off, and didn't want me anywhere near the club." Opie scoffed and folded his arms. "Those were different circumstances. And you’re my little sister Ronnie," he reached out to mess with her hair, Ronnie pushing his arm off and glaring at him. "No matter how pissed I am at you, I'll always worry about you." Ronnie sighed and shook her head. "You heard Clay. He doesn't have the numbers, so…". "I'll stay with you," Piney said. "I'm not called up for much action these days anyway. Go and let, Clay know," he said to Opie. "I don't have a spare room dad," Ronnie attested. "Not gonna be sleeping," Piney grumbled, and walked towards his bike. "Stubborn old man," Ronnie shook her head and walked to her car.
-----------------------------------------------------
Ronnie smiled as she handed out bowls of chili to buyers. Much to her disdain, Clay had told Gemma about the Mark incident and Gemma had insisted that when she wasn't working at the hospital or at home with Piney, that she should stay close to the club to make sure she was safe. That was how she was wrangled into helping Gemma at the Taste of Charming fundraiser. She didn’t mind helping out, but shovelling out chili and making small talk with people who claimed to remember Ronnie when she was a child - but she had no recollection of them - was becoming monotonous. She had seen Jax briefly and would look over to where Bobby was entertaining kids with his Elvis act to break up the routine but even that was becoming dull. Casting her eye out over the crowd, she spotted her brother, sister-in-law and niece and nephew. "Hey Gem," she called over her shoulder. Gemma turned from the pot of chili she was stirring. "Yeah, baby?" "You mind if I go hang out with Ope's family for a bit?" Gemma smiled and patted her cheek lightly. "Sure, sweetheart."
Ronnie made her way across the throng of people, stopping where Opie and Donna were sat watching the egg toss. "Hey," she said awkwardly. Opie and Donna turned to her. Donna smiled grimly, but didn't say anything. Ronnie refrained from rolling her eyes. "Hey Ron," Opie greeted. "Everything ok?" Ronnie nodded her head. "Yeah all good. Although I think Gemma is being more protective now than dad." Opie huffed and smiled. "Yeah well, you were always the daughter she never had." Donna watched the conversation between the siblings with a frown on her face. "The kids off playing?" Ronnie asked. "You here to try and buy their favour again?" Donna questioned. Ronnie remained impassive, ignoring Donna's jab. "Donna," Opie wearily said. "We spoke about this. Drop it." Ronnie's eyebrows raised at her brothers intercept. Was he finally coming around?
"I'll be right back," Opie suddenly said, making a beeline towards an old indoor gym. "Oh," Ronnie looked between her brother and Donna awkwardly. Left alone with her sister-in-law, Ronnie shuffled from one foot to another, cracking her knuckles. "Donna," she began. "I know you seem to really not like me, but know that I'm serious when I say that I am trying to make things up to Opie. I know I can't replace the last decade. But I don’t want to waste any time from now on. Opie seems to understand that. I hope you can to." Donna only looked at Ronnie for a moment, before turning back to watch Ellie play with her friends. Ronnie sighed and made her way back to the chili tent.
-----------------------------------------------------
Juice rubbed at his neck where Clay had grabbed him. He'd been longing to get home from Nevada after the week away and now he felt like he'd really fucked things up by bringing Cherry with him. Pulling his phone out of his cut he woke it up, hoping to find a missed call or text from Ronnie. She had tried him a few times since the situation with Piney had gone down but over the past two days it seemed she had given up. The thought made his stomach turn to lead. He wasn't meaning to stonewall her, he just didn’t know what to say. The whole situation was messed up, and he didn’t want to hurt anyone's feelings. But these few days away and not hearing from her had shown him that he wasn't done with her yet. Their kiss was on his mind any time he was on his own, the memory of her lips against his, the way her hands slid across his skin, her scent. He never went near any croweaters, even when they offered the most lewd things he had ever heard. He just couldn’t get this girl out of his head. Pulling up her contact he sighed and pressed dial. Pulling the phone to his hear, he waited as it rang, his stomach roiling. After the fifth ring he was ready to hang up but then he heard her.
"Juice?" His pulse picked up. "Hey, Ronnie," he smiled, scratching at his jaw. "I thought you might have been finished with me," she admitted, and Juice could hear her caution through the phone. He rolled his lips into a line and shook his head. "Nah, I don't think I'm done yet," he said. He heard her sigh in relief. "I'm so sorry, Juice seriously. I wasn't trying to hide it from you, I just didn’t know when it would be a good time to tell you about my family. I know whatever this is, is casual but I never wanted to make things awkward for you." "Yeah, I know," he replied. "It's all good. I don’t want to stop hanging with you, but maybe we can take things slow? Be friends at first or something…" he gulped. Ronnie laughed through the phone. "I mean yeah, I would like that," she said, sending relief flooding through Juice. "It's not that I'm not into you, cause I am really into you, trust me. I just really respect your dad and brother so I don’t wanna be on their bad sides ya know. This club is kinda all I got," he admitted. "It's fine, Juice," she assured him. "I get it, seriously. So, friends then?" He smiled, his spirits lifting for the first time all week. "Yeah Ronnie. Friends."
-----------------------------------------------------
The next day, Ronnie walked from her kitchen to the living room where Piney was sat on her couch, his shotgun placed on her coffee table. Handing him a cup of coffee, she perched on the couch next to him. "The guns a bit of overkill, don't ya think pops?" she asked, sipping on her own drink. Piney raised an eyebrow and surveyed the room. "Are you not armed?" he asked. Ronnie rolled her eyes. "Of course I am, dad. I just don't have them out on display today." The old man grumbled and turned back to the television. The sound of a Harley rang down Ronnie's street, making her an Piney glance at each other curiously. When the bike cut out in front of her house, Ronnie stood and walked to look out the peephole. "It's Opie," she muttered, watching her brother walk up the path to her door. She pulled it open when he got close. "Ope? Everything ok?" she asked. "Pops needs to come down to the clubhouse. You too," he informed them. Piney stood and made his way over to his children. "What's wrong?" he hesitated. "You need to lay low. ATF are sniffing around after what went down with Nate yesterday. You and me are going to the cabin. Dropping Ronnie off at the clubhouse on the way," Opie clarified. "Wait what? Why?" Ronnie asked, crossing her arms. "Because dad isn't here to watch out for you," Opie said, annoyed . "Ok fine, but can't I drive myself?" she asked. "No time, you can ride with me," Opie said, already turning around and making his way back to his bike. "That doesn’t even make sense," Ronnie mumbled under her breath as she turned to lock her front door.
-----------------------------------------------------
Ronnie's knuckles were white as she gripped the back of her brothers bike tightly. They pulled into TM and as soon as the bike was turned off she ripped herself out of the seat, jamming the helmet into her brothers chest. "I hate those things," she pointed at his bike before she began to stalk towards the clubhouse. She had seen enough MVAs involving bikes to not want to go near them. She slowed down when she saw Juice sitting at one of the tables near the boxing ring. "Hey Juicy," she called out, making him look up from his phone. He grinned brightly at her, sending her blood scorching through her veins. "Hey, Ronnie," he stood and made his way over to her. He began to reach out to grab her hand but stopped himself short when Opie trailed after her. He sent Juice a withering glare and Ronnie rolled her eyes. "Chill out, Ope. I'm allowed to have friends." Opie ignored his sister, turning when Piney caught up with them. "How long do I have to stay here?" Ronnie asked, miffed about how her morning was shaping out. "I'll stay with dad until tonight, and then I'll come get you. You can stay at my place for the night and we reassess tomorrow," Opie explained.
Ronnie scoffed. "No way. I am not staying at your place while your wife still hates me." Opie rolled his eyes. "Donna will be civil. And you have no choice." "Actually, I do have a choice," Ronnie remarked. When she didn’t elaborate Opie gestured for her to continue. "Juice can be on watch at my house," she stated. Juice whipped his head in her direction, his eyes wide. "Wait, what?" he asked at the same time Opie barked "not happening". Ronnie huffed and looked towards Piney, hoping he would step in and help her out. He shrugged. "Clay got you doing anything?" he asked Juice. Opie sneered. "You've got to be kidding me." Juice just shook his head, answering the old man. "Not at the moment. I'm free as far as I know." Piney shrugged and looked at Opie. "Let her go home. She's got protection." Ronnie stepped up to her dad and hugged him. "Thanks dad," she kissed his rough cheek and Piney smiled down at her. Juice felt like he was intruding so he walked to his bike, grabbing out the spare helmet and starting it up. "Relax Opie. He's just doing it for you guys. That's all this is." She turned and made her way to Juice. Opie watched as his sister put the helmet on and climbed on behind Juice, his annoyance intensifying when she wrapped her hands around his waist. "You sure about this?" he asked his father. Piney just shrugged. "Can't tell her what to do. Only gonna push her away. I don't know about you but I'm not losing her again."
-----------------------------------------------------
Ronnie grinned at Juice as she took the helmet off, handing it over to him. The ride back to her house had been the most enjoyment she had ever felt on the back of a bike. Her anxiety about the danger completely melting away. The way it felt to have Juice between her thighs, her arms wrapped around his waist and her face pressed against his cut. When they were pulled up at a set of lights he had dropped one hand from the handlebars and gripped her knee briefly, his thumb running over the denim of her jeans. She didn’t know how she was going to go with this friends business when all she wanted to do was have him close again. Opening the door, she let him into her house, trying not to think about the position they had been in last time he was there. "Can I use your bathroom real quick?" Juice asked. "Yeah, sure. Up the hall, second door on your left," she told him. Ronnie made her way to the kitchen, scanning the fridge and pantry to see what she could offer to make them for lunch. She stood up quickly when she heard a sharp knock on her door. Peering down the hallway she saw the bathroom was still occupied and wondered who could possibly be paying her visit now.
Opening the door she was shocked to find a woman smartly dressed with sandy brown hair and an ATF jacket standing at her door with a smirk on her face. "Um, can I help you?" Ronnie asked. "Veronica Wilson?" the woman questioned. "Who wants to know?" Ronnie countered. The woman smirked again, looking down her nose at Ronnie. "Veronica, I'm Agent June Stahl, ATF. I'm here to question you about your fathers whereabouts. Do you know the current location of Piermont Winston?" Ronnie just shook her head, leaning against the doorframe. "I have no idea, I haven’t seen him in a couple of days," she shrugged. Stahl hummed, narrowing her eyes. "And are you aware of the activities undertaken by the outlaw motorcycle club that your father and brother are currently members of? Any illegal interests you may be privy to or aware of that you could make known to us?" Ronnie raised a brow and crossed her arms. "As far as I'm aware the whole bike and club thing are a hobby for them. That's all. Nothing illegal," she attested. Stahl smiled and nodded her head. "Sure. That's why your brother just got out of prison for a botched arson attempt, right? Had nothing to do with the club, did it?" she pushed. Ronnie huffed. "Listen, Agent Stahl, the only connection I have to that club is my last name. You're barking up the wrong tree." Stahl's eyes strayed from Ronnie and landed on something behind her, narrowing. Ronnie turned and saw Juice standing a couple of feet behind her. His jaw was set, but his eyes were on her, filled with worry. She smiled sheepishly and turned to Stahl. "Just your last name, huh?" Stahl mocked. She put her glasses on and turned to leave before looking back over her shoulder. "Reach out if you hear from your father, Veronica."

AITA for knocking out a dozen waiters?
So, I (20sM) am a gangster from Las Vegas. Recently, our boss ordered my team to get one-up on a rival group in the same crime syndicate as us. And in their basement, we ended up discovering a magic drug that gives you superpowers.
Y'see, here's the problem. The syndicate's higher-ups found out about the theft, and now they're sending superpowered assassins after us to try and get back the briefcase full of drugs. It's not ideal.
Our plan is to deliver the briefcase to their planned buyer, and then we'll have enough money to keep them off our backs for good. But if we don't deliver it in 72 hours, I'm gonna die because of magic contract bullshit. (How that happened's not really relevant to this story, just know we're on a time limit).
Our last fight went...not so great. I almost got turned into a fridge, one of my friends almost got buried alive, and another got exploded. We're stranded out in the middle of nowhere near Albuquerque, trying to walk to civilization (or at least to where we can find a new car).
Enter a new problem: a mother fucking roadrunner.
Now, I knew this was gonna be some magic horseshit. We all suddenly started craving chicken just before it appeared, so clearly it was using its own psychic powers to bait us into some kind of cartoon hijinks that would end in our hilarious demise. I even saw some cartoon subtitles come out of the thing.
So instead of going to capture and eat the awful bird like all of my friends — I'm not used to being the voice of reason — I went back to this ominous hotel that we passed on the way. Unfortunately, it was incredibly dusty, and full of skeletons. But one thing I did find: an anvil, a pulley, and some rope.
What I did is have one of my friends use them to catapult me off into the middle distance towards Albequerque so I could go get us a car. I thought that if the road runner has cartoon powers, then maybe it'd rub off on us and prevent my horrible demise, right?
Using my power (a magic pinball I can chuck really hard and ricochet off of things), I managed to kill my momentum and land in someone's pool. So all I had to do then was procure a car for the others. Easy, right?
Not easy. The first twelve dozen times I tried to steal a car were a total bust. I went door to-door trying to stick people up for their car keys, but most of them just screamed and slammed the door on me.
So, realizing I needed a change of plan, I headed over to a fancy restaurant with valet parking, and I made a ton of noise in the parking lot. When a waiter headed out and asked me what I was doing, I beaned him in the head with my pinball to steal his keys.
This caused another waiter to hear the noise and come out looking for answers, and I ended up panicking and also knocking them out. Then another came out. A dozen restaurant staff later, I managed to get a new car and drive back to where my friends were with a now-dead bird.
...It's not exactly new for our fights to have collateral damage, but even I can recognize that it got a bit out of hand. AITA?

I had a really fun time writing this one. I've got zero plan for where this month takes me, but much like Dean in this fic, I'm enjoying the ride.
This one is mildly spicy. I haven't quite worked up to a full M or E, so I'll go ahead and rate this one a T for now. Ask to tag!
Day 4: Wicked
Hunts are few and far between these days. With Chuck’s downfall came a few months with no paranormal activity, giving every hunter in the country a bit of a much needed break. Even though cases have begun to appear once more, Dean has realized that they are nowhere near the volume they were before they iced God. In fact, about half of the leads they chase these days turn out to be false.
Still, a job is a job. This is why, when a potential haunting pops up in Rhode Island, he decides to take the case. Dean shoots a quick text off to Cas. The angel is currently out doing “bonding activities” with Jack and Claire, who had shown up shortly after breakfast for a surprise visit. Dean shakes his head and wonders what they’re up to, knowing that bonding activities probably means at least one felony.
From the looks of it, the spirit is not out for blood yet. Right now, it seems to be more of a nuisance for real estate agents. Whatever it is has chased out four potential buyers from an old house in Newport.
He raps on Sam’s door.
“Sammy, I’ve got something in New England. You and Eileen want to come along?”
He hears a muffled curse from inside Sam’s room, followed by a thump. Sam’s voice carries through the door.
“What is it?”
“A casper in Newport is shaking up the housing market.”
Sam opens the door, hair in complete disarray and a deeply skeptical look on his face.
“And you need my help for that?”
Dean sighs. “Tone down the bitchface, man. I don’t need your help, but I thought we could make it a family thing. Sue me.”
Sam unclenches and reaches a hand up to smooth down his diva hair. “Yeah, ok. Give me an hour to get ready.”
“Make it two. This thing ain’t urgent. No one will touch that house. Plus we’ve gotta give Cas and the kids time to clean up whatever situation they’re getting into right now.”
Sam laughs a little at that. “What, you don’t think they’re apple picking or something?”
“Not a chance.”
“Wanna bet ten bucks that Claire is somehow roping Jack into trouble and the kid doesn’t even realize it?”
“We both know I would lose that bet. Claire is evil.”
“She gets it from you, Sam teases.
Dean will accept that. “I feel sorry for Cas.”
Sam rolls his eyes. “Cas can hold his own. He also gets that from you.”
“Yeah, yeah. I’m a bad influence on the guy,” Dean shrugs. “At least his music taste is better than yours. I don’t know where I went wrong with you, but you really put the hair in hair rock.”
Sam just squints at him for a moment, letting him sit with his own joke before straightening. “Right. Anyways, I’m going to tell Eileen the plan and get ready. Let me know when the others are all set to go.”
“You do that, bitch.”
“Whatever, jerk.”
………
Almost exactly two hours later, they’re all packed in Baby. Cas and Claire are in the front with Dean, and Sam, Eileen, and Jack are in the backseat. Claire has her own car of course, but it died unexpectedly in the driveway when she tried to start it.
“No I didn’t leave my light on, jackass,” had been the preemptive reply to Dean’s question. Claire scares him a little, but mostly she reminds him of himself in a not-totally-reassuring way.
As snarky as Claire is, she chooses to be a good sport and rides with them rather than calling AAA. Dean promises to fix her car when they get home from the case. Her one condition is that she gets to sit shotgun. Nobody wants to argue with her, including Sam.
They roll Northeastward as fast as Dean can go without getting pulled over, taking all the backroads they can to avoid major traffic. Dean has been on some truly long drives before, where the roads seemed to lead nowhere and the next gas station was easily one hundred miles away. He shudders, thinking of US 95 in Oregon. Talk about desolate.
But this one is shaping up to be good. He’s got all his favorite people in one vehicle, his favorite cassettes on deck, a nice and easy haunting to squash, and no big bad on the horizon. Hell, he even has money to burn on a nicer hotel for the night, and he will be using it.
Maybe I can get some alone time with Cas.
He glances at Cas over Claire’s head where she has it buried in a book, only to find him watching Dean already. Dean smiles bashfully and hopes Cas can’t see the pleased flush rising to his face. Judging by the way his eyes light up though, he can.
This thing between them is largely responsible for the high he’s been riding for the past few days. It’s a wonderful development, truly, but it’s also very new. Dean wants to enjoy the honeymoon phase of their relationship just a little longer before they settle into things more.
He knows, of course, that he’ll enjoy being with Cas just as much in ten years as he will in ten days, because it’s Cas, and he’s perfect even when he’s the most idiotic and infuriating son of a bitch alive. But he reserves the right to be horny and dumb about his partner when he’s in his prime.
So yeah, he’s booking two singles and one double for the night.
Humming along the highway, lost in his own mildly solicitous thoughts, Dean doesn’t hear Sam at first when he pipes up from the back.
“Dean, are you listening?”
“Hm?” Dean very resolutely does not look at Cas right now. He especially doesn’t look at his lips. Nope, that would be a bad idea. He needs to pay attention to the road.
“I said,” Sam starts imperiously, “that I was reading this article about regional dialect, and there was this link to a quiz at the bottom. It’s supposed to guess where you’re from based on your vocabulary. I think we should take turns taking the quiz.”
“Huh, alright. Lay it on me.”
Sam starts in on a series of questions, asking Dean how he pronounces different words and the terminology he uses for a variety of commonplace objects. The others in the car offer their own commentary, especially Claire.
“There’s no way people call a water fountain that.”
“Claire, you’re literally from the midwest. Have you never heard anyone refer to it like that?”
“I like that word,” Jack says, not looking up from his game.
“It is a fun word,” Eileen agrees. “Bubbler.”
“Sam, did it give you my social security number yet?”
Sam is frowning in the rearview, clearly puzzled. “Actually, it can’t seem to pinpoint your region. Your map is showing some similarity everywhere.”
Dean thinks on this for a moment before he gets it.
“Dude, we were raised on the road. You and I have picked up words from everywhere.”
“Oh, I guess that makes sense. So we have generic dialects then?”
“Guess so.”
Soon, Claire demands to take the quiz, and is the first one who gets a fairly accurate location, unsurprisingly. She’s spent more of her life in the midwest than not.
Cas thinks the quiz is a waste of time (“I don’t think they have enochian in their database, Dean.”), but he indulges his family anyway.
“Cas, the results are showing your location as somewhere around… Kansas.”
“I do spend most of my time in Kansas.” His tone is dirt dry, but Dean can tell he’s secretly amused by all of this dialect business.
“You’re a billion years old. Have a few years in Kansas really made that much of a difference?” Claire asks.
Cas tilts his head, meets Dean’s eyes with intention. “Perhaps.”
Oh, he’s flirting with you.
Dean swallows. Cas can definitely see that he’s blushing now.
………
Sam seems to be down a dialect rabbit hole today, telling them facts about different regions and how they developed linguistically over time. By the time he reaches a few articles about New England, everyone's a little punch drunk and overtired. Dean is determined to make this drive in one go. The others can sleep if they want. He just needs a little coffee in him, and he’ll be able to make it to Cleveland before he switches off with Sam.
“Get this. People in Massachusetts and Rhode Island emphasize things they really like as ‘wicked.’”
Dean snorts, startling a half-asleep Claire from where she’s been nodding off against his shoulder. She glares at him, earning an apologetic grin.
Cas, who has been “resting his eyes” but is seemingly aware of this conversation, murmurs a request for an example from Sam. Dean wants to wrap him in a blanket so fucking bad right now.
“So uh, imagine you’re eating a good sandwich.”
“I don’t know what a good sandwich tastes like, Sam. I don’t need to eat.”
“It’s just a hypothetical.”
“I personally like the footlongs from Subway.”
“Gross, Dean.” Sam pulls a face.
“The more inches the better, right Cas?” He winks at the angel. The look he gets in return is so worth Sam’s disgusted noises from the back. Half-lidded eyes track lazy and hot over his frame from the passenger side. Dean finds his lips suddenly very dry.
“I don’t know what you mean.”
Your face says otherwise, Sunshine.
“Anyways,” Sam coughs, “someone from New England might say the sandwich is wicked good or wicked awesome.”
“Doesn’t wicked have a negative connotation?”
“Normally, yes. But people make their own rules for this stuff, man.”
“After all this time on earth, humanity finds new ways to surprise me.”
“I’ll bet.” Sam chuckles.
“Hey Sam, what do they call a sandwich in New England?”
“They have a few terms for sandwiches. Subs, spukies, grinders-” Sam cringes, immediately knowing he messed up. “No, Dean. Don’t.”
“Grinder?”
“Please.”
“But Sammy-,”
“Stop.”
“I don’t even know her!”
Sam groans and buries his face in his hands. Dean for one is very pleased with himself. And hey, he even made Cas crack a smile.
“That was a wicked good joke, Dean.” Eileen, apparently not asleep, chimes in.
“I’m here all night.”
“I don’t get it.” Jack is right behind Dean, so silent for the past hour that Dean forgot he doesn’t need sleep. Dean immediately does damage control to spare himself from Cas’ wrath.
But he’s hot when he’s mad.
Shut the fuck up, brain.
“I’ll explain it when you’re a little older, kid. Adult joke.”
“But physically I’m-,”
“Don’t care. You’re not old enough.”
“Dean!”
“Talk to your dad about it.” He means Cas, who does not look happy to be saddled with this conversation, but he forgets one important thing about Jack.
He is swiftly reminded.
“Which one?”
“The one who isn’t Lucifer, obviously.”
“You? I’m already talking to you.”
Dean gapes, just a little. He won’t get emotional about Jack seeing him as a father figure. He won’t.
Wait.
“Kid, you ain’t fooling me. You know I’m referring to Cas. Talk to him about it. He makes the rules.”
“Oh, but I was hoping you could override them.”
Dean’s mind is going down a very specific path regarding Cas and rules, so it takes him a second too long to catch up. Unfortunately for his overheated brain, Cas decides to intervene.
“Dean knows better than that.” There’s a suggestion in that rather confident statement that makes Dean go hot all over, the tips of his ears burning and his palms sweating.
He really likes this, the back and forth routine they’ve got going on right now. They haven’t had sex yet, content for now to let things simmer while they get used to each other in this new capacity. They haven’t really talked about it either. There seems to be an understanding between them that they are both ready, and have been ready in some way for twelve years, but neither of them have made a move.
It feels less like first time nervousness and more like a game. It’s anticipation undercut with mutual responsibility and respect for each other. Cat and mouse, a delicate dance, etcetera. Bottom line is, Dean loves this, and he loves Cas even more.
………
Sam takes the wheel in Ohio, and Dean passes out for a few hundred miles.
When he wakes up with a familiar crick in his neck, they’re well into Connecticut. The trees lining the freeway are a watercolor riot of red, yellow, and orange leaves and striking birch bark. He presses his palm against the window, feeling the chill seep into his hand from the pane. It must be early, then.
“Morning sleepyhead.” He’s greeted by a grinning Eileen, whose shoulder he has definitely not been drooling on this whole time. He knows immediately by the sing-songy cadence of her voice that she has a picture stored away for blackmail.
In the front seat, a ray of morning sun lights up Cas’ side profile as he appears to be deep in a discussion with Claire and Sam. Dean forgets all about his blackmail suspicions, breath caught in his chest and warmth percolating through his body at the sight of him.
It’s not even lust, is the craziest part. Obviously he feels desire too, but this is much bigger than that. Because for a moment, his sore neck and pins and needles and the other occupants of this car whom he cares deeply about all fade away when he simply looks at Cas.
Goddamn, I want to wake up to see your face every day.
He must’ve prayed it, because Cas turns to look at him with a smile so sweet, Dean swears his tooth begins to ache.
Dean thinks, certainly not for the first or last time, that he might be dreaming. That Cas, grounding, charming, genuine, stubborn, perfect Cas couldn’t possibly be real. But when the angel winks like a dork and turns Dean’s insides into mush, what he does know is that what they have is too wicked damn awesome to ever let go.

about the walkable cities because you mentioned living next to motels and brothels, honestly idk if it would do much in terms of safety if it were more walkable. i think men would just adapt to the changes. i live in a walkable city near a shady area with brothels and street prostitution and the area is inaccessible by cars, but men will simply walk there or take their bike
Nope. I've studied how the prostitution works here. The sex buyers don't live here. They drive here from across the region. And the pimps and the women they're trafficking do not live in the city. They stay in big houses in the suburbs south of the city. They commute up to my urban neighborhood to make money.
My neighborhood is located right off the exit of a massive interstate highway called I-5. Traffickers can make a million dollars a year off of just one woman up and down the "I-5 Track." They drive up and down that highway looking for big spenders. And many of the biggest spenders in the world live on this coast.
Brothels are illegal. So I guess it's not accurate to say there are real brothels here. They're more like temporary brothels that operate for a few days at a time. And my neighborhood is the most convenient place for this to happen. The car-dependent infrastructure here is super convenient for pimps and sex buyers.
They used to do business in two different locations along this thoroughfare, both right off a highway exit. But the police asked their pimp friends to consolidate to one place. So the sex trafficking south of me stopped and it all concentrated on my neighborhood.
This whole business is extremely mobile. My neighborhood is just one stop along a 1,381 mile coastal highway. If cars can no longer use the thoroughfare in my neighborhood, pimps will stop using it, too. And when pimps stop using it, motel owners will sell their properties to developers. This is exactly what happened just south of me.
Getting cars off of my road won't stop sex trafficking along the entire coast. It will just take away one of the convenient and lucrative places traffickers make money. And that's a good enough reason to do it. The people who live here shouldn't have to dodge criminal enterprises daily. The cops are friendly with the pimps up here. But there are other ways to kick them out. We can make it so inconvenient for them that it's not worth doing business here.

Accelerating Sales: Unveiling The SEO Advantages For Car Dealerships
Tumblr media
In the digital age, where the journey from car enthusiast to car owner often starts with a few keystrokes, the role of the traditional car dealership has evolved. Beyond showroom glitz and test drives, the virtual showroom now holds significant sway in the realm of car sales. For car dealerships aiming to rev up their sales and stand out in a competitive market, mastering the art of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is not just advantageous but essential.
The SEO Imperative for Car Dealerships
Picture a prospective car buyer typing “best SUVs for families” or “fuel-efficient sedans near me” into a search engine. The visibility and ranking of a dealership’s website in these search results can be the difference between capturing the attention of eager buyers or getting lost in the endless sea of automotive options. SEO serves as the navigational tool guiding potential buyers to the doors of a dealership’s virtual showroom.
Crafting SEO Strategies for Car Dealerships
Keyword Strategy: Model-Specific and Locally Targeted Identify and incorporate keywords that mirror the dealership’s offerings: terms like “top-rated hybrid cars,” “luxury car dealerships in [location],” or “affordable used cars near me.” Long-tail keywords specific to car models or locality attract more qualified leads.
Engaging Content: Informative and Visual Utilize websites as informative platforms offering insights through blogs, vehicle comparisons, reviews, and interactive visual content. High-quality images, videos, and 360-degree views captivate potential buyers.
Mobile Optimization: On-the-Go Car Shopping Given the surge in mobile searches, ensure websites are mobile-friendly. Responsive design enhances user experience, impacting SEO rankings positively.
Local SEO: Amplifying Local Presence Optimize content for local searches, claim Google My Business listings, and garner positive reviews to enhance visibility within specific regions or cities.
Link Building and Partnerships Forge connections with automotive forums, car review sites, and local business directories to build backlinks. Quality links from reputable sources boost credibility and visibility.
Embracing Evolving Trends in Automotive SEO
Staying ahead of emerging trends can further accelerate sales for car dealerships:
Voice Search Optimization: Tailoring content for voice-activated car searches as voice assistants gain popularity in automotive inquiries.
Virtual Showrooms and Test Drives: Offering virtual tours and online test drive experiences, enhancing the online buying journey.
Measuring Success and Adapting Strategies
Regularly monitoring website analytics, user engagement metrics, and keyword performance provides insights into the effectiveness of SEO strategies. These insights empower dealerships to refine and adapt SEO approaches for optimal visibility and lead generation.
Conclusion: Driving Sales through SEO Mastery
In an automotive landscape where the digital highway intertwines with the traditional showroom, car dealerships that adeptly wield tailored SEO strategies create digital pathways that resonate with prospective buyers. SEO isn’t just about climbing search rankings; it’s about positioning dealerships as trusted guides in the search for the perfect ride.
By leveraging the power of SEO, car dealerships can accelerate sales, solidify their online presence, and become the preferred choice for buyers seeking informative and user-friendly car purchasing experiences.
Remember, in the journey toward accelerated sales, SEO serves as the roadmap guiding buyers to discover the automotive innovations and driving experiences your dealership offers in the quest for their perfect vehicle.
