noah caldwell-gervais is the only motherfucker to have ever been correct about dark souls and elden rings' difficulty. no one else understands
#oops. rant ->#they aren't about overcoming some incredible struggle in order to prove yourself as an insane upper echelon Gamer#they're about allowing the player to create a victory that feels satisfying to them#either by mastering the mechanics#using your brain and coming up with a strategy that works#or just getting some friends to help beat it into the ground#saying “sekiro is designed to teach you that mechanical mastery is sometimes required for victory” is just completely the wrong way around#sekiro exists for the people that preferred to use mechanical mastery to beat dark souls!!!#cause fromsoft went “that's pretty fun may as well make a game based around that”#it doesn't fucking exist so that people play it and go “ah yes this is the way fromsoft intends us to play their other games”#spirit summons in ER exist so that they can create more aggressive bosses without leaving a bunch of players unable to beat the game!!!#like you can like or dislike that game design decision#disliking it is a fair opinion to hold#I kinda dislike it. I don't like rellana as a boss cause she feels reliant on it#but saying that it's bad cause “it teaches you to play the game badly” is so stupid#like it lets you beat the game. what more do you want#the criticism you're looking for is “I dislike it cause I don't like playing the game that way and find it less fun”#which is totally valid and I kinda agree!#but as someone who prefers to fight bosses solo by mastering the mechanics:#stop acting like “fighting bosses solo by mastering the mechanics” is the objectively correct way to play#and deciding that because you play that way all of your critiques are the most valid#and accept you maybe just disagree with some of fromsoft's design choices for ER.#it's fine. you can still like the game. it's okay

Synopsis : Hope's Peak Academy's unconventional class 77-B is about to have an even more eccentric addition: Chisa Yukizome, an alumna with the title of Super High School-Level Housekeeper—and their new homeroom teacher. Cheerful, passionate, and capable, Chisa immediately sets about correcting the students' problematic behavior and strengthening their relationships. It may not be easy dealing with diverse pupils ranging from princesses and nurses to yakuza and impossibly lucky students, but anything is possible with the power of hope.
Meanwhile, Hajime Hinata, an unremarkable boy from the school's Reserve Course, longs for a talent. One day, he has an unexpected meeting with class 77-B's Super High School-Level Gamer Chiaki Nanami, who presents to him a new, hope-filled outlook on life. However, unbeknownst to him, the school's upper echelon is about to execute a sinister project centered around Hajime that will bring Hope's Peak—and the rest of the world—to its knees.
Zetsubou-hen chronicles the daily lives carried out at the talent-cultivating academy, and the darkness that lurks beneath. As despair slowly infects hope, plans are put into motion to start the Biggest, Most Awful, Most Tragic Event in Human History, and the end begins.
(Source: https://myanimelist.net/)
Personal Thoughts : This tells the story of before SDR2 well. It gets a lot less slice-of-lifey later, if you're here for the murder and lore. Also, we get to see more of Nanami's personality here. Overall? Not that bad. :)

technology
I own a Steam Deck, gaming PC and laptop. Technology is my special interest; I hyperfixate on machine learning, hardware repair, programming and hacking.
👾 programming :
I know a little bittle of Assembly, CSS, C#, C++ and JS, and a lottle of HTML and LSL!
I've written a Google Gemini API bridge for Second Life. I've also written a worn headpatter that lets people feed you snacks and a dynamic terrain footstep "library", and heavily modified the Ostiabs' Elevenlabs TTS.
I wrote a feed-forward non-parallel reinforcement network before - it was a pet doggy! I've modified pretrained genetic perceptrons. I selfhost an ethically trained 20b fp32 8-bit quant'd gguf GPT-3, and sometimes an ethically trained 13b 8bit gguf llama3 GPT-3.5.
Closing thoughts: my beliefs on AI are strong, just because I love machine learning doesn't mean I have to capitulate my values... I don't like company solutions (barring, say, runbox). I take little issue with ethically trained models save for AI art models. We just don't live in a society where they are capable of being ethically or morally feasible.
🤫 hacking :
I once got to have a conversational spot with a cybersecurity analyst who is famous on YouTube!!
I've done a miniscule amount of reverse-engineering for the ForgeLight engine, its' packet opcodes and its' asset server hierarchy.
I've reverse-engineered one of the scantly mentioned annoying crash exploits performed by Minecraft masscan botnets... it intentionally crashes Fabric servers in a magically stupid way via a popular library!
I love WinDBG and am well-versed in reading dmp files from it, and you should totally send me your full untampered memory dump right now. [/j]
🕹️gaming :
singleplayer > Audiosurf 2, Flight Rising, Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 4, FATE: The Cursed King, GemCraft, Jurassic World 2, Orwell, Planet Zoo, Resident Evil, Sims 2
multiplayer with mod > Creatures: Docking Station, Peggle, Rimworld, Sims 3, Sims 4, Skyrim, Slime Rancher, Subnautica, Webkinz
multiplayer > ARK:SE, Bloons TD 6, Depth, Dino Run SE, Distance, Don't Starve Together, Dying Light, Fall Guys, Golf With Your Friends, Guild Wars 2, Minecraft, MultiVersus, Path of Titans, Party Animals, Palworld, Risk of Rain 2, Second Life, Space Station 13, Space Station 14, Starbound, The Isle, Tower Unite, Unitystation
🔎 misc. factoids :
I have autism, C-PTSD, OCD, chronic pancreatitis and gastroparesis. I don't have a gallbladder. I used to have some malingering psychosis dx when I was younger, but for some reason I grew out of experiencing visual or physical hallucinations and only get sound ones or the feeling of being watched (good thing I made it Weird. That's a great coping mechanism actually, highly recommend) and I don't really think I fit in that dx at all.
Part of my autism is being hyperspecific and logorrheic. It's a big part of my life, sorry!
I am transmasc, and I don't have fallopian tubes, ovaries* or a uterus. 😎
I love matcha green tea, soymilk, maple, sweet red bean, setsumaimo and honey. My favorite food is avocado sushi or veggie cabbage dumplings.
I love medicine, especially biotechnology and pharmacology. I love reading medical papers. I love pirating them!! Shout out to Elsevier for hosting such piratable ones!!!
I'm super bodily transhumanist. I have a Freestyle Libre and a PEG-J feeding tube!
I'm completely immune to the entire class of benzodiazepines and my body doesn't process morphine. I have no idea if it's just not demethylating or I have opioid receptor polymorphism, but the latter is more likely than the former. That makes me tough :3c
I totally fully believe everything my favorite characters do is morally correct and will imitate it in real life, and I fully condone all of their horrible actions! /j/j/j/j
Thanks for reading, I hope we can be friends!

Elevate Your CS:GO Experience with High-Tier Accounts: Unlocking Pro-Level Play
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) is a game known for its unforgiving competitive environment, where skill and strategy are paramount. Many players dream of reaching the upper echelons of CS:GO play, competing at a pro-level, and experiencing the thrill of high-stakes matches. However, achieving this level of gameplay can be an arduous journey. For those seeking a shortcut to pro-level gaming, the world of high tier CSGO accounts offers an intriguing solution. In this article, we will delve into the realm of high-tier CS:GO accounts for purchase and explore how they can provide players with a ticket to the top tier.
The Quest for Pro-Level Performance
Becoming a pro-level CS:GO player is no easy feat. It requires countless hours of practice, a deep understanding of game mechanics, and a sharp sense of teamwork. However, one often overlooked aspect is the CSGO account itself. The grind through ranks, the encounters with cheaters, and the frustration of losses can be demotivating. High-tier CS:GO accounts are designed to expedite the journey, placing you directly on the path to pro-level play.
High-Tier CS:GO Accounts: A Brief Overview
High tier CSGO accounts are pre-leveled and ranked accounts available for purchase from reputable online sellers. These accounts are finely tuned to specific ranks, frequently in the upper echelons of CS:GO competitive play, such as Global Elite or the prestigious Faceit and ESEA ranks. They come equipped with various in-game items, skins, and an established competitive matchmaking history.
Features of High-Tier CS:GO Accounts
Immediate Access to Elite Ranks: The most enticing aspect of high-tier CS:GO accounts is the instant access to top-tier ranks. Say goodbye to the often grueling journey through lower ranks filled with trolls and cheaters. Instead, you can dive straight into competitive matches where your skills will be truly tested.
Premium Matchmaking Experience: High-tier accounts have a history of high-quality matchmaking games, ensuring you'll be playing with and against experienced players who take the game seriously. This elevates your gaming experience and accelerates your skill development.
Coveted Skins and Items: Many high-tier CS:GO accounts include valuable skins and items, enhancing your in-game aesthetics. These skins are highly sought after within the CS:GO community and add a touch of prestige to your gaming persona.
Reduced Frustrations: By acquiring a high-tier account, you eliminate the frustrations typically associated with smurfs, hackers, and toxic players often found in lower ranks. This allows you to concentrate solely on honing your skills and enjoying the game.
Access to Pro-Level Opportunities: With a high-tier account, you gain the opportunity to participate in professional-level scrims and matches, a crucial stepping stone for aspiring competitive players.
The Ethical Dilemma
The ethical implications of purchasing high-tier CS:GO accounts have sparked debates within the gaming community. Critics argue that it undermines the integrity of the ranking system. However, it is essential to note that many gamers have limited time to dedicate to ranking up and merely aspire to compete at a higher level.
Furthermore, high-tier accounts are typically sourced from reputable vendors who ensure compliance with CS:GO and Steam's terms of service. While the debate surrounding the ethics of high-tier account purchases persists, the decision to buy one ultimately rests on the individual player's goals and preferences.
Conclusion
High-tier CS:GO accounts offer an alluring option for gamers aiming to reach the pro level of play without enduring the time-consuming grind of traditional ranking. These accounts provide instant access to top-tier ranks, superior matchmaking experiences, exclusive in-game items, and an overall enhanced gaming journey. While the ethical considerations remain a subject of debate, the choice to purchase a high-tier account ultimately depends on a player's aspirations and gaming objectives.

5 Major Trends in the Future Development of NFT
There is no doubt that the explosive growth in the popularity of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and metaverse-based projects has caused powerful ripples in the blockchain stratosphere. Furthermore, they have influenced not only the digital world but many other industries such as art, gaming, finance, fashion and many more.
Businesses and investors are pouring huge sums of money into various NFT and metaverse projects. Not surprisingly, some of the most famous social networking platforms like Reddit, Twitter and Meta, Tencent, Ali, Baidu are participating in some NFT projects.
So, the main question here is, what will the future bring us? With that in mind, we need to discuss the 5 most anticipated NFT projects.
5 emerging NFT projects worth our attention
1. Partial ownership of NFT artwork
The NFT hype has become a reality. Most investors and traders are buying and selling different types of NFT artwork on various NFT markets. But let’s be honest, NFT development company investors who trade with small investments face enormous difficulty owning a portion of the circulating collection, especially given that NFTs are getting more expensive. Today, popular NFTs cost thousands of dollars and are completely out of the reach of small investors and traders.
From the emergence of the concept of “Fractional NFT (Fragmented NFT)”, many status quo in the industry has changed, such as the problem we just mentioned, multiple users can now easily share the ownership of any NFT artwork — working together to drive the price one grade lower. One of the best examples of fragmented NFTs is the famous “Gorilla in a Street Mask” by Banksy, a well-known NFT artist. Banksy divided the artwork into batches of 10,000 NFTs. So, to own 10% of the artwork, you need to buy 1000 NFTs. When first minted, each NFT cost $750.
2. NFTs and games
With world-renowned game companies such as Steam, Ubisoft and Square Enix developing NFT assets for the in-game environment, it is no surprise that “GameFi (Game Finance)”, or that “GameFi” is being used by gamers and game developers around the world rapid rise in. One of the biggest brands in the gaming NFT universe is Axie Infinity. The company took direct inspiration from Pokémon, as you can own and trade collectible NFT pets called “Axies.”
You’d be surprised to learn that Axie Infinity quickly generated a massive $1 billion in game assets, and users can buy and trade these NFT tokens within the gaming ecosystem.
3. Hollywood and NFTs
If you had the opportunity to be a part investor, using NFTs to help make a movie of your favorite actor, would you jump at the opportunity? Of course you will! NFTs quickly became a sensation in the film and entertainment industry. NFTs in film production and streaming may be the next big thing.
As a result, in 2021, the overall NFT transaction volume across multiple industries and businesses will exceed $23 billion. This simple fact multiplies the hype. Filmmakers, streaming companies, and independent film products are all investing in NFTs, using a variety of ways to directly incorporate them into their productions.
Chapter 4 Generic Technology and the Fashion Industry
While several well-known fashion companies and brands have already ventured into the NFT upper echelon, when Gucci released its trendy $12 digital shoe, it also led several other well-known brands to embrace blockchain and incorporate NFTs into their marketing and products middle.
Some of the most recognizable brands in the world are already involved in exciting projects. A great example is how Burberry partnered with Mythical Games to release their exclusive and one-of-a-kind NFT collection. Likewise, Birkin’s series of NFTs called “Baby Birkin” sold for a whopping $23,000 at auction.
5. NFTs and the music industry
Blockchain experts speculate that NFTs are on the verge of revolutionizing the music industry. We can see that many popular albums, album covers, lyrics and songs are transitioning to NFTs. The first band to dive into the NFT stratosphere was King Leon. They were the first to release an album entirely as an NFT.
Likewise, Mike Shinoda (from Link in Park) managed to raise over $11,000 to launch his exclusive NFT. Both prominent and independent artists now say they are finally being paid fairly. They make a decent profit from NFTs alone.

Cyberpunk 2077 - On QA and Shit Practices
I've just finished Upper Echelon Gamers' coverage of some new leaks concerning the dev environment during CP2077's development time, and if what the investigative YouTuber puts forward is true, the game's state wouldn't entirely be up to CD Projekt Red's fault. As it turns out, the fault also squarely rests on Quantic Labs, a Romanian QA studio that apparently is... more than well-known for their slapdash work.
More below.
The gist of it is a smart QA team lead wouldn't hold its employees accountable to certain performance targets, because bugs are inversely logarithmic. Think about it:
You run BlahBlah Testing Inc, and receive a pre-Alpha build for the new hotness, New Hotness: Bestest Game Evar. Your job is to parse the code and game logic for any faults. At first, you find everything the devs didn't find for all their efforts, and it probably feels like a hot mess. You get to work, however, and soon manage to have an increasing amount of bugfixes implemented in the next revision. From pre-Alpha to another pre-Alpha, you get less and less and less to work with, up until the point where ideally, you're fixing menu typos or quest design flow SNAFUs after moving increasingly away from the mission critical stuff.
Makes sense, right? You'd want to start with the bug report that reads "I pressed the Fart button exactly eighteen times, and the nineteenth time somehow resulted in a code-execution strain that made my BIOS chip self-aware" and end with "According to the lorebook, Lorelei Andersson's name needs two S'es. Twelve typos were corrected throughout the game's dialog flow."
Well, that's a bit too square for Quantic Labs, apparently. Going on a bit of a hunt, I found that Romania has a bit of a thing for quotas, in its various professional sectors. Fail to meet targets set by your boss - even as a GP or a social case worker - and chances are you'll be let go, apparently. Quantic has a similar system, where Cyberpunk's trove of issues were separated between non-mission-critical finds and core problems - and as the core problems were initially less numerous than the many, many, many animation flubs Version 1.0 had, and as even those could be subdivided, you ended up with an inverse flow of priorities where Quantic would effectively polish the brass on the Titanic at the behest of their own executives. Serious problems stagnated and were never declared to their clients, while Quantic Lab worked to drum up as many minor fixes as possible, to bulk up bugfix reports. They'd even go so far as to intentionally break previously-fixed code - in order to fix it again and have it declared as a new bugfix.
That's without mentioning how to clinch that gig, they effectively lied to CDPR about placing their senior coders on-task. What CDPR were sold was a cadre of industry pros, but what they got were newcomers to the field, some of them having just been hired out of game-design programs and suddenly expected to perform high-level code edits after a meagre two weeks' worth of training.
The end-result is what you'd expect. Stagnation, core bugs never being addressed, rising costs and the increasing need to ship something - anything, if only to get out of QA's grasp.
So, yes, the higher-ups at CDPR did drop the ball on their own end of things, of course. They did ultimately choose to please their shareholders over their fans, and none of the above absolves the actual devs of their own degree of responsibility. It's still sobering to note, however, that with CDPR switching from their RED Engine to UE5, it'll be easier for them to shop for external QA outlets with a much more solid reputation.

It’s amazing how many channels like this that talk about the failings of the video game industry and their greed and bullshit that they do never seem to quite zoom out just a little bit and look at the wider socio-economic systems they take place within.
One minute they are prattling on about CDPR and their lies, deception, their hostile work environment and inhumane treatment of their workers and the next they make 20 minute videos on SJWs as if we are in 2014 all the sudden.

Raid Shadow Legends: A Casino for Children
I would like to shed some light on the heavily advertised mobile game Raid Shadow Legends. This topic was covered more extensively by a YouTuber whom I have a great of amount of respect for Upper Echelon Gamers.
To start off I would like to say that I do not generally play mobile games, as a PC gamer I just cannot bring myself to play games on my phone, the experience is terrible and more often then not mobile games are just excuses for large studios to increase profits rather than make a game people enjoy.
With that being said, there was a time not so long ago where you could not watch a YouTube video without seeing an add for Raid Shadow Legends. Through some incredibly deep investigation by Upper Echelon Gamers and another YouTuber AxialGT it was discovered that the company who produces Raid Shadow Legends is quite literally a company that occupies the casino gaming space (more on this later).
Raid employed the incredibly effective tactic of paying/sponsoring YouTube creators to promote their product by providing them with a very specific script of the promotion they wanted. This was of course publicly denied by the company but the FCC requires this type of disclosure so it is easily provable.
Plarium Games is the producer of Raid Shadow Legends which is a company that was purchased by Aristocrat Leisure Limited in 2017 for $500 million. Aristocrat Leisure Limited is a casino gambling manufacturer, they make most notably slot machines. A statement given by Aristocrat CEO Trevor Croker in 2017 stated that the purchase of Plarium “Allows Aristocrat to expand our addressable market into logical adjacent segments of the fast growing mobile gaming market”.
I am not sure if you have every played Raid Shadow Legends, but if you have you will know that while it is free to play there is no doubt that it is designed to push the player towards sustained purchases in order to enhance the experience. I don’t have an issue with studios monetizing their products, I do however have an issue with an actual casino games manufacturer jumping into an unregulated mobile gaming market and using physiological gambling tactics to push their often underage users into making purchases that are in fact randomized and have no clear return on investment.
This issue is a growing problem not only in the mobile gaming space but it is slowly infecting all games with more and more studios adopting these gambling mechanics because they offer much higher returns for the studios. I do not want to see heavy governmental regulation within the gaming space however I believe it to be inevitable and at this point quite possibly needed.
I do not appreciate studios and companies taking advantage of often underage users by using gambling mechanics to increase their profit. This type of predatory monetization needs to stop. This is by no means an issue for just the mobile gaming communities but becoming one for all gamer’s. If we don’t stop this, governments around the world may have to step in and stop it for us, I don’t want over reaching government regulation for fear of it going too far and damaging the gaming community as whole, but it may be necessary in this case.
