All of my ideas so far
Hey, I took a long break because… honestly just because I can.
Anyways I have plenty ideas, most are gonna be based on research, and the other is more of my creative sprinkles, heh. I just wanted you guys to be updated on what I was officially doing in this rewrite.
Characters
• I did a complete 180° with the Morningstar Family dynamics. Especially Charlie and Lucifer.
• Alastor won’t be a sinner and no voodoo in the story overall.
• There are a few original characters I’m working on Misael, my version of The Seven Holly Virtues, God, Jesus and another biblical figure I will deem important to add.
• I read a few of my first drafts and just realized that I’m the complete opposite of Viv. I put a lot of emphasis on female characters, especially the mother, and tend to forget to add the father to the equation. I guess I will work on that, though I still wanna keep the importance of motherhood and perhaps sprinkle a bit of found family tropes here and there.
• The show is still a musical, I’m not at all experienced in this domain but I think it’ll be fun to add a little paragraph describing a potential instrument and or music genre given to each character. Or imagine voice claims.
I’ll also put music here and there to describe the dynamic of each character.
Hierarchy and Worldbuilding
• There are 9 rings in Heaven that go up and 9 rings that go down in Hell. I got this idea because in Paradise Lost Lucifer said he was gonna make a Hell out of Heaven and A Heaven out of Hell (for him), I did that for the parallels. But honestly, I still don’t know what Heaven is gonna look like.
• People in Hell are forbidden to speak about God constantly referring to Him as “Him.”
• The Stolas in Helluva Boss isn’t THE Stolas but he’s still a royal figure. Same for Andrealphus.
• I reworked a bit the hierarchy and I won’t reveal what I did, I mostly changed how the overlords work because I don't want to believe that they just get powered up the second they die.
• I replaced voodoo with witchcraft and maybe I’m gonna include Paganism. I do not intend to demonize it in any shape or form, I just want to make a more concrete and interesting magic system and explain a bit the powers few characters have.
• Actually making Hell a place of constant suffering, I’m still keeping the “Hell is other people” approach but I want to give more magical (kinda like curses) punishments to each sinner.
• I probably won’t keep the Hotel as a Hotel.
Wow it was really fast, I mean I can’t write down everything, can I? I’m slow as hell so don’t expect everything to be made in one day.

Just got finished reading No Sympathies. 1. Matilda was one of my favorite characters for her backstory and the major "Arlo and Bertie from AtAB" friendship dynamic she had with Pug (I swear that makes sense in context). 2. Is there any chance you could put all the major character illustrations you did for it in one post for the incoming TV Tropes page (and future reference)? and 3. Did you ever give Matilda's husband a name? Just asking. Overall, pretty strong for a first published work!
Thank you! I've been intending to update the character artwork for No Sympathies for a while, actually, though my ability to pump out finished artwork has declined a great deal in recent years, so I might have to settle for republishing the old art (or paying someone to do the lineart for me). But yeah I'll try to get that done.
Matilda's boyfriend is intentionally nameless in the text, as are all the humans who aren't (alternate versions of) Biblical figures, as a little writing trick to make the audience identify more with the nonhuman demons than their human victims. Playing with the audience's sympathy is very much the game with that novel.
But if I ever end up writing the sappy romantic tragicomedy story of Matilda's love affair on earth (which would be called Love is Hell for the record, and may or may not be an actual writing project down the road), I would name him Mark Johns. Why Mark Johns? Well, Johns as in Johnny from The Devil Went Down To Georgia, who was tempted by the devil only to turn the tables on him quite severely, and Mark as in "that guy looks like a good mark for our con, let's target him."

Introduction
As a quick note: I will be posting/reblogging in character most of the time. Art will be either mine or my girlfriend's art pieces. My Pfp being art of my OC's demon form, and the banner picture being that of my OC any my Girlfriend's current interpretation of Leviathan. This introduction will be me out of character though. My bio states my actual age as well for people first seeing my blog to know my age as well.
Due to this blog being centered around Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, I do not feel comfortable with minors interacting with this blog or it's contents. If I see that a minor has interacted, I will immediately block as soon as I see it.
Anyways, to the actual introduction!
Feel free to call me any of these names on this blog: Seth, Gideon, Redolence, or Vardan. My OC is a hydra and has multiple different aliases he goes by. These are just in order of life to death to time in hell.
I am 21 years old and in a loving polyamorous relationship with my girlfriend, partner, and boyfriend. I'm currently not looking for another. I'm pretty queer, and have aa lot of different identities in the LGBTQ+ community. I am personally a trans masc demiboy and go by He/They pronouns.
I am alterhuman, and proud of it too. I am Luciferkith/Luciferhearted. This meaning that I identify with Lucifer involuntarily. Now, I identify with multiple interpretations of Lucifer (Biblical and Lucifer (Netflix series) specifically, but all I identify with on some level). Please do not treat me as him though. I am still my own person.
Why did I go with SethTheHydraOfHell/hydraofhell? Well, that's simple. It's based off my main OC Gideon. Gideon was one of several reincarnations of Adam's son Seth. So, I thought: "Why the hell not?" Now, character Introductions! I have a couple characters. Ezra, a Peryton based sinner OC who will be talked about and acted out on occasion, and Seth/Gideon. Seth is a Hydra based sinner and the main OC I will act out on this blog. Seth: He is Seth, son of Adam and Eve. The gist of his story is that his soul has evaded heaven and hell for millennia until 1600, where he died as Gideon. His evasion was due to multiple cycles of reincarnation. As punishment from god, he was sent to hell for evading death. Comedy (the lighter colored head) is a representation of childhood happiness and is the closest reminder to his life as Seth. Tragedy (the darker colored head) is the envious and very depressed head that wished to be with his father and family after death. These two heads act somewhat like separate entities, but mostly speak aloud the internal thoughts that are in Seth's head.
A little note about Seth, he's ambiamorous, cis, and pansexual. Due to multiple reincarnations, he's been around the block or two with multiple genders so he's become blind to it over the years. He also doesn't mind being with one or multiple partners. Though he's primarily monogamous.
If you wanna learn more about Seth and his story, I'll be posting them slowly. Some I will drop as fics, others as update/blog posts. There's a lot to this character that I really enjoy and want to share with everyone.
Seth's posts will include "~S", "~Seth", "~G", "~Gideon", "~R", "~Redolence", "~V", "~Vardan" at the bottom. Depending on the situation or form taken, these will be different for each post. Seth posts are mostly when recollecting his life as Seth, or talking about his past and family. Gideon posts are primarily posts about the hotel or when he's with Ezra. Redolence posts are general posts about his time in hell or about his dealings in hell that aren't related to the Vs or the hotel. Vardan posts are either talking about the overlord meetings, the Vs, or about territory disputes that relate to the Vs.
Ezra: He was a transgender male in life. He had killed his husband in the Victorian era. Eventually, he ended up dying similarly to his husband by falling off the largest cliff he could find nearby. This is to reference that Perytons kill only once in their entire lives. As for life in hell, Ezra and Redolence (Seth) hit it off as friends within about the first 50 years of being in hell together. Both currently see themselves as each other's best friends. Though, Ezra is a bit oblivious to Redolence's romantic gestures as he believes he's not worthy of love after what he's done in life.
Ezra is monogamous, trans male, and demi/bisexual. His marriage to his husband in life was arranged and he hated it as his husband wasn't the greatest. He realized he was demisexual and bisexual only while he was in hell. Him being demi is due to trauma that I will get into more in posts on the blog.
More info on Ezra will be brought up along with lore with Seth. These two are close characters to each other. I will drop some Ezra centered fics as well if people are interested
Ezra's posts will include the "~E" or "~Ezra" at the bottom
Rules
Now, I won't put many, but I will block users if any are broken depending on the severity, or how frequent they are broken
Minors (anyone below 18), P3d0s, Z%s, other harmful paraphernalia, and apologists that aren't seeking serious recovery are not allowed on my blog at all. I do not want to interact with anyone in those groups, or endanger the minors that are potentially in this fandom's space. I don't want to know if you are in recovery either. This is a hard boundary. If I figure out you're any of these, I will instantly block you.
Those who're homophobic, transphobic/under any umbrella related to it, and antis (alterhuman/furries/et cetera) I will also ask you to not interact with my blog. I am trans with a lot of different queer identities, as well as an alterhuman and furry. I'm wanting an open arms community who'll be kind and not harass others because of their identity and hobbies. This will also result in an instant block on my account.
I will not put up with any hate speech, or arguments about religion. Personally I'm not religious, I'm agnostic/pagan. I need proof to believe in the abrahamic god, but I believe in the pagan gods of old. I'm not POC, but I do support them. I'm also autistic and have ADHD. Racism, ableism, and harmful ideologies are not welcome on my account. It is an instant block if I figure any of these things out on one's account.
Do not harass me in my inbox. I'm fine with answering in character. Please state if you are doing things in character or not so I can understand. Like if you're a Valentino blog interacting with me, please state that it's in character. I will not instantly block, but I will message your account to understand if it's an in character thing. So, all asks will need to have an account tagged in them. Or, use quotation marks and at the end do ~(insert character name here). This will help me understand if it's in/out of character harassment.
I have an open arms policy on this account. Don't harass me or others who interact with me. In return, I'm willing to have a kind community space where we all have fun and talk about a fandom we love or enjoy. We're all adults when interacting with my blog. So if we're upset, we should all talk about it like adults.
Keep any interactions with this blog to the fandom that is primarily on this account. This is a Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss account. I do have other communities and fandoms I'm in, but I will not talk about them in depth like on any of my other accounts unless it's relevant. This can include snippets of media that relate back to any interactions with my characters. Going off of this, I will give three warnings before a strike. Three strikes and I will block. That's me being generous though.
Hopefully everyone feels safe and enjoys the blog. I hope to talk to you all soon

Story Time: When I was younger I wouldn't let myself sing the lyric "I am a sinner, who's probably gonna sin again" from Kendrick Lamar's song Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe because I was convinced that if I said it, it would count as a confession and I'd become prone to sinning even more because of it

pls share some of your spn fic recs 🥺🥺
ok, a few things first:
followers and mutuals who do not have supernatural brainworms, kindly avert your eyes
i don’t normally rec or even read much fanfic any more but this is a CRISIS ok (cont.)
there is so. much. content for deancas out there and i have incredibly high standards, several ancient ao3 bookmarks, can speedread, and want to spare you guys the experience of wading through it all.
i also have a section for spn femslash since I was pretty into that back in the day (sadly a lot less fan content for this :/)
I don’t really like au’s or pure smut (I honestly usually just skim or skip those scenes) so if you’re mainly looking for that kind of thing this probably won’t be very helpful to you. jsyk.
i’m not great at describing stuff but i’ll do my best, i’ll also try and add tw’s when neccesary.
i wil try and keep updating this with any other decent fics i find, feel free to rec stuff too since i’m like 7 years behind.(edit 1/25/21) this is getting looooong so i’m going to start making another list on my spn blog rather than update this one
(edit 1/3/21) since this has gotten pretty long i’ve added rating/approximate word counts and marked my particular favorites with an asterisk.
Dean/Cas fic:
So Says The Sword*** - explicit/85k. FUCK its good...au/time travel where dean is not pulled out of hell by cas and says yes to becoming the michael sword. honestly could serve as an alternative to actually watching the show, if you want to get into dean/cas without actually doing that to yourself.
Fata morgana.*  - teen/6k, pst s9 finale. very bela centric and i love it, she finds cas looking for dean in hell.
Redemption Road -misc/600+k. an incredibly long fic from a collaborative writing group back in the day. canon divergent from the end of s6 on, has a cool take on godstiel and the leviathans, as well as the lovecratian mythos connection. ngl when i reread it i only made it about 28% in but imo the casual reader can actually stop around there, the rest concerns a lovecraftian apocalypse that is still good (i think i don’t remember it very well) but not required to enjoy the first half. if you prefer i have an ebook version i can send you on gdrive.
Someone Who's Feeling For Me* - mature/45k, s12. they run into lisa braeden and dean thinks cas is into her while cas thinks dean still likes her. treats lisa way better than the show ever did and the miscommunication is pretty funny rather than annoying.
a turn of the earth - mature/95k. time travel fic where cas from s10 keeps showing up in deans life from a few years before s1 to right before the hellhounds take his soul.  slow burn, good character study, and at one point cas punches the dad in the face and it rules.
On the Wings of War - teen/85k, canon divergent s5. dean accidentally becomes the Horseman of War. plays fun, fast and loose with biblical lore, michael has some rights.
Named - mature/95k, alternate s5. EXTREMELY blasphemous in a fun sexy way. manages to predict metatron almost to a T. there’s one major character death and its literally jesus christ, everyone is very sad about it and it sets the rest of the story rolling. an alternate interpretation of cas’ mission to raise dean from hell which had me on the floor. ngl its kind of misogynistic at points, but its from 2010 and tracks with late oughts-2010 spn (sorry anna the author did you dirty here:/).
The Girlfriend Experience - explicit/15k. uhhh i don’t normally rec or even read smutty stuff unless someone i know is specifically asking for it but this has stuff like sam trying to be a good ally and dean thinking holding hands with cas is ‘kinda gay :/’ minutes after having gay sex with him.
i crippled your heart a hundred times - explicit/19k, s8. cas confesses his feelings and dean spends a long time getting his head out of his ass about it. truly hits different after the actual confession, despite being written six years early it feels like its actually what could have gone down more or less if the writers weren’t talentless demons who hate us.
My Roots Take Flight** - mature/125k. reverse au where cas is a hunter and dean’s an angel...OR IS IT???? an alternate retelling of s4. tw for briefly being set in a psychiatric hospital/the hospital being mentioned somewhat frequently throughout the fic, plus more references to torture in hell and heaven than usual.
The One Thing You Can't Lose* - teen/4k.you know those posts about how cas is a super-strong super-tough ancient warrior but he just lets dean tug him around because he likes it? thats it thats the fic.
Hands, From Which All Things Are Built - teen/14k, post s8′s ‘goodbye stranger.’ cas is on the run with the angel tablet but keeps in touch with sam and dean by text, he and dean still manage to be terrible at Actual communication.
Autrement, Danger - or, The Account of an Exceedingly Long Day - mature/30k, post s11. a monster that takes the appearance of your soulmate leads to some wild miscommunications and dealing with years of repression, also dean gets to see cas’ true form which is always cool. tw for non-graphic mentions of underage sexual assault/sex work.
Down to Agincourt - mature/explicit/900++++k, endverse continuation. endverse!cas survives his encounter with lucifer and discovers another time-displaced dean from s7. i’ve only read the two of four parts but its really good, veeeeery slow burn, has a lot of fun oc’s and takes a rather surprising but (imo) entertaining and intriguing turn into Hellenic history and mythology. usual tw’s for endverse/endverse!cas but nothing graphic, it’s actually pretty light-hearted (relatively speaking of course).
Nothing Equals the Splendor** - explicit/8k, THEE finale fix it fic you’ve been waiting for! posits that the entire final episode was just a (very bad and lame) djinn’s vision.
like moses and batman and james dean - explicit/31k, post s8. explores dean’s trauma and internalized homophoba from his technically canon experience with sex work and its impact on his relationship with cas. the sex work itself isn’t really shown in any detail but it’s still a relatively heavy fic.
Crazy Diamonds - explicit/25k, s4/alternate s14. fresh-out-of-hell dean and dean from 10 years in the future are displaced from time and sent to each other’s present.
where the weeds take root - explicit/30k. au where the men of letters kick them out of the bunker and they accidentally move out into the country, get over their codependence and semi retire. featuring chicken coop building, sam volunteering at a dog shelter, gardening, and blissfully mundane domesticity.
No Resting Place - teen/6k. djinn dream fic, switches back and forth between cas’ dream of being married to dean and retired from hunting to the aftermath when he wakes up. tw for brief mention of suicide since, y’know, djinn dream.
any port in a storm - mature/52k. post s8 finale. cas and dean have to pose as a couple going through a rough patch for a case and actually deal with their emotional baggage, cas struggles with being human and metatron is up to stuff.
all this and heaven too* - explicit/7k. in the author’s own words ‘...a love letter to every trans person who ever projected onto Dean Winchester.’ absolutely unzipped me emotionally and theologically, its just. so good. tw for very brief mentions of internalized transphobia/dysphoria.
Because it is* - mature/6k, finale fix it. killing chuck does not bring back anyone back and the winchesters spend a very long time dealing with what they’ve lost, cas and dean SOMEHOW still manage to have signifigant communication issues even after the confession. tw for suicidal thoughts/brief attempt.
Vena Amoris and Other Old-Fashioned Bullshit* - teen/4k, s6. when cas fell for dean it automatically soulbonded/angel married them, shenanigans ensue when dean finds out during the angel’s civil war. funny and actually written back when s6 was airing so cas is still (or at least pretending to be) kind of an OP asshole which is fun.
Rinse, Repeat - teen/3k, s8. angsty character study of cas as he’s reprogrammed and trained to kill dean. not really dean/cas since its just cas’ pov of canon events but its beautifully written and ends with him snapping out of it through the power of love (also now a canon event!).
Emergence - explicit/59k, canon divergent after s11. dean meets a hunter he only recognizes as their friend claire novak’s missing father, but soon realizes he might be the answer behind the mysterious void in his memories and feelings (aka everyone’s memories of cas are completely wiped away for three years).
Cuckoo And Nest - explicit/10k, early established relationship/character study, cas tries to figure out how he fits into dean’s life and space in the bunker.
Build a Home* - teen/20k, canon divergent s12. sam and eileen are cute and turn the bunker into men of letters/hunters hq and everyone but cas moves in, mutual miscommunication issues and pining ensues.
Down in the River - teen/5k, early s8, cas prays to dean in purgatory while sam and dean try to figure out a way to get him out.
Teaching Poetry to Fish* - mature/52k, ?? BC through the entire series/canon divergent s14 and 15. retelling of crucial scenes throughout the shows timeline from cas’ pov, feat. actual fish and poetry.
the minor fall, the major lift - gen/4k, post confession/finale fixit. dean goes into the empty to save cas and runs into several old friends (and enemies).
With the Kisses of His Mouth* - teen/3k, gen later seasons. dean and cas keep kissing by accident.
Remaining Grace - explicit/109k, alternate s6. au where cas asks dean for help with raphael and dean, of course, does. tw for temporary major character death/semi-graphic depictions of alcohol withdrawal.
The face of heaven.* - teen/10k, au, dean is a regular guy and cas is a fallen star (think ‘stardust’, kinda).
Stories Are Made of Mistakes*  - teen/5k. newly human cas has trouble getting used to a human body and humanity in general, but still figures out that he and dean are A Thing before dean does.
Hurry Up And Wait - mature/21k, canon divergent s12. a fairyland and quite possibly LOTR related case comes up and dean goes full fanboy, mary is introduced to the wonders of the peter jackson adaptions, many references and comparisons (including between cas and dean’s ‘friendship’ and arwen/aragon). also charle is still alive and has just been doing fairy stuff this whole time.
There Are Many Things - explicit/28k, s9. cas is extremely lonely/touch-starved and trying to figure out this whole human thing, as well as where he and dean stand after being kicked out of the bunker.
It's A Long Life to Always Be Longing - teen/40k, post s11 finale. amara helps dean by putting him in a magical coma so he can finally get some much needed rest and show him possible futures for him, sam and cas. meanwhile sam and cas go on a roadtrip (or several) to find componets for a spell to wake dean up. really good sam and cas friendship, they actually talk about their shared lucifer trauma and stuff.
Non-Photo Blue - gen/2k, s4/5/alternate s5. fifty moments from cas’ memories of dean.
Tall Grass - explicit/57k, canon divergent post series. cas becomes the ultimate plant dad. feat the wayward sisters gang, cathartic character growth, fun oc’s, domesticity, and lots of actual botanical info-dumping.
on vessels - no rating/gen/2k. established dean/cas, cas tells dean about how he used to imagine what it would be like to have him as his vessel.
search for tomorrow on every shore* - teen/11k, post-finale (extremely derogatory). some angels in jack’s new heaven act out and dean gets temporarily resurrected in 2003 and runs into his younger self.
Architecture of the Minotaur’s Heart - explicit/45k, very canon divergent post s1. dean’s new house seems to have a life and mind of its own, while in his dreams he sees glimpses of a world and apocalypse that never came to be and an angel that looks strangely like his mysterious neighbor, cas. loosely inspired by the book house of leaves (which i highly recommend for fans of weird horror).
The Distance Of The Setting Sun - explicit/17k, post s5. established dean/cas relationship, team free will finally takes advantage of cas’ abilities to go on vacation around the world.
diamond star halo - teen/5k, s11. dean lets cas use him as a temporary vessel while he recovers from rowena’s spell, sam is a long-suffering third-wheel.
Make Known** - teen/16k, s6/7. dean struggles to understand how cas could have become his enemy and whether he ever truly knew him in the first place.
blunt little instrument* - mature/1.4k, post finale. dean finally confronts his father in heaven, very cathartic.
my heart a compass*** - teen/10k, post confession. the empty forces cas to re-experience his most regretted moments while dean tries to snap him out of it and bring him home.
A Crash Course in Someone Else's History - teen/11k, s6. cas from the very start of s4 is brought forward in time by s6!cas to distract the brothers from his and crowley’s plans.
The Cuckoo Father - mature/8k, s7 au. the woman who found cas in the river post-leviathans does not marry him bc he was sent to her by god or whatever, but actually identifies him as jimmy novak and sends him back to claire and amelia.
The Dead Dean Clause* - teen/5k, post alt s5 ending. team free will celebrates surviving taking down lucifer by getting blitzed, cas lies to a cop and gets an impromptu driving lesson. title/description sound dark i know but it’s actually very funny and light.
Suck It, Judy Garland - mature/20k, s12 (after the ‘i love you...i love all of you’ episode). cas and sam have to pretend to be a couple for a case and dean is NOT happy about it.
By Daylight and In Dream - teen/16k, s5. pre-dean/cas, dean invites cas to use his dreams to hide from the other angels. tw for very brief mention of a memory/dream of alastair sexually assaulting dean.
The Five People You Meet in Heaven - mature/22k, post-canon. an actually happy (if sometimes bittersweet) heaven endgame written several years ago, though some details are rather eerily similar to the show’s ending.
heaven is a place on earth* - teen/2k. dean’s pov of some of the times cas left him behind throughout the show, and one alternate ending where he finally gets to stay.
I Cleanse The Mirror - teen/20k, alternate s6. dean’s body is stolen by an ancient elemental and his soul has to hitch a ride in cas’ vessel.
an exploration of gender; angelic*** - mature/4k. *oscar isaac voice* lets get into angel gender politics!! aka cas is trans.
Zenith - explicit/33k, s9. after 9x06 an angry witch curses cas with the ability to see supernatural beings and human souls.
La cucina. - gen/3k, alt s9. dean goes wild helping a newly-human cas find out what kinds of food he likes, or the early s9 domesticity we deserved!
Dean Winchester, Cocksucker at Rest***** - teen/7k, post-finale. john and mary finally come over for dinner and john reacts to dean/cas in a rather predictable fashion. SOOOOOOOOO good omg, its so funny and a little sad and very very cathartic. part of a series that has a few other really good short fics.
The Way You Didn't Go - teen/5k, s15. coda to 15.09, dean has nightmares about the moc!cas timeline.
On Drowning - teen/28k. dean saves cas after he nearly drowns, they both try and deal with the physical/mental fallout (aka the fic where thee iconic “you only touch me when you think I’m dead or dying” originates). tw for realistic depictions of drowning/triage/misc medical information.
The Thirty-Six Questions That Lead to Love* - mature/13k. claire has dean and cas pretend to be her gay dads for a case and they play the titular 36 question game, get mistaken for swingers, and birdwatch, among other things.
Assorted F/F stuff:
Deep Breaths* - mary/ellen, au where mary said no to azazel’s deal and let john stay dead, still becomes a milf.
Like Rebel Diamonds - krissy/claire, they become hunter gf’s on the hunt for cas to kick his ass for taking jimmy. not-so-stealth dean/cas as well.
To Ash and Bone - anna/ruby, same author as the previous fic (p much all of her stuff is good from what i recall). au where ruby is a witch and helps anna when she’s cursed.
Holy Clockwork Angels - jo/ruby, STEAMPUNK au with very cool worldbuiilding.
At Day's End - jo/anna (my fucking KINGDOM for more jo/anna content, the dean/cas parallels are allllll there), au where they are both at the camp in the endverse and gfs.
these posts - ok so not actually a fic but i’m now obsessed with this hannah/meg dynamic.
Tagelied - mary/ellen, the true story of how ellen got into hunting before angels interfered.
Hell's Bells** - meg/abaddon, alternate s8/9 where meg survives crowley’s attack with sam’s help and teams up with abaddon (who she has a sk year old crush on) to take back hell.
The Ecstasy of the Rose - anna/ruby, anna travels back in time to escape heaven and becomes a signifigant part of ruby’s old human life.
Angel Underground - anna/jo, kind of an urban fantasy au with a very intriguing premise (sadly its very short, i’d love to see more if this ‘verse).
Clover, Flame - billie/mary, billie was always the reaper that showed up to take mary after her death(s) over the years.
Drag Me To Heaven - anna/ruby, a variant on the ‘last night on earth’ thing with dean.
Come Home* - jo/anna, canon-divergent au where anna is the new waitress at the roadhouse and helps jo set up a (probably not really) haunted house for halloween.

Princess Morningstar
I'm sincerely sorry for being dead for several months, procrastination has taken over me plus we didn't really had any updates on whatever show I usually talk, so I'll also try new shows. But for now welcome back to my blog.
Our beloved charming demon belle has a new design, a design that kinda looks the previous one but with a few new changes. So today I am going to talk about Charlie's new name and design.
Tumblr media
Charlie has a last new name Morningstar’ a reference to her father, Lucifer, translated from Latin as "shining one" or "morning star" by many Biblical scholars. Her previous name Magne is can also be translated from Latin, as the adjective “great, important or loud” (I've studied Latin in my 1st and 2nd year in highschool so I know what I'm saying). Vivziepop also said that she changed her name because it's a classic. I personally like this 'cos it represents how Lucifer was a light-bringer to both God and some former angels, he might have lost that title in God's eyes but not in that of the fallen angels and the fact that they crowned him as their King is the ultimate proof of that. But what if Charlie follows the same fate as her father? What if Charlie currently is Lucifer's light-bringer and once she leads sinners to heaven (if it ever happens) Lucifer will see his daughter as a disappointment, disowning her for what she has done just so that the redeemed sinners could call her their light-bringer, their ‘Morningstar’. (After all like father like daughter 💕😈)
Now let's talk about Charlie's design this is how she looks like:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you can see she's a MATERIAL GWORL❤️! The colour red definitely suits her, Charlie looks more mature than her previous design and also more demonic (her eyes). There isn't much to say about her glow up except that she looks absolutely gorgeous and that the red colour has become her main colour palette. The colour red has 3 primarily emotions: Love, Passion and Anger. These 3 emotions can be find in Charlie's Love for Vaggie and her family, her Passion in trying to and redeem sinners and her Anger against everyone who try to stop her from achieving her dream (redeeming sinners). Or they could have chosen the colour red 'cos it gets associated with Hell.
Charlie had a total of 4 different designs, 2 of the 4 kinda look similar but it still count as a new design. My question to guys now is which one of them is your favourite write it down in the comments.

Yugioh S4 Ep 18 pt 1: California Public Transit can Take you to Hell, but it Can’t Take You to the Freakin Mall
Apparently Tumblr did an update, joining the throng of techie websites that chose a godawful very open and round sans fontface that creates a hell ton of white-space.
Aaaaaa
Not quite sure why every website feels like they must make all websites look like a mobile site. I do enjoy having a dark mode now and that’s nice, but man...I miss the bold font we used to have for titles on text files. Really told you “this is a title.”
Not like it matters since y’all are reading this on my own blog where I have control of how it looks, but man...that awful typeface where there kerning is nice for short stuff but just...too wide for serious reading. It’s everywhere I go.
And speaking of bad kerning, like I saw this ad for a gym that was called “49ERSFIT” (because that’s our football team, in case you don’t know) but the kerning was reallllllly narrow so I looked at it and all I could see was “49ERSHIT” and like...I can’t unsee it. I can never unsee that.
Anyways, enough about how I’m haunted by font, lets talk about Yugi, who used to be haunted by Yami, up until he died this morning. So now Yami is just kicking it all on his own for a total of....maybe a few hours now, and has already destroyed an entire Caltrain, and whatever ecosystem was in this lake.
Tumblr media
Seto Kaiba would be so proud.
Tumblr media
Somewhere in the Ocean, or over the ocean, or...wherever the hell Atlantis is, Darts has decided that Pharaoh is NOT dead after all, and sends Rafael to finish the job, because youknow--Darts won’t move his lazy ass until all of his lackeys are fully dead. It’s an anime.
And then we have a jump cut to this tent scene. I don’t know how much time has passed. It’s suggested it’s enough time to fully sleep. So...a full day?
And Yugioh pulls the most unexpected plot turn out of their pocket because why not, it’s Season 4. This season is just about “how many strings can I pull and get away with” (I mean have you SEEN the Death Count lately?)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
........
there’s a lot of things I expected out of this kids show.
This was never one of those things I thought I would see with my eyes--one of those things I could cap with my prt scr button, and one of those things I could paste into Photoshop and be like “wow this is really a thing that was made canon.”
Like for how long I had to cap this photo of Yami and Tea sharing a bed together, the people who made this show, spent THAT much longer having to animate it. What is just mindboggling about Yugioh, is that no one on the entire team was like “oh did we just...” and this set-up happens--and they treat it like NOTHING is happening.
Like, how is that humanly possible to write your flagship pairing into the same bed and then just not even recognize it? Like I get how it’s physically possible, I just watched it, but as a writer, as an artist, as someone who tells stories, how is it possible to resist poking fun at this?
Like the RESTRAINT on the Yugioh team, y’all.
(read more under the cut)
Tumblr media
I hope you enjoyed this trope that flashed on the screen for all of like...a minute. Lets throw a giant dog at it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So fun fact, the Egyptian god that is shaped like a wolf is Wepwawet. He’s best known for guiding people through the underworld, which fits nicely into this episode. But, did the writers know that? Is that why Skye is here? To be a reference to Wepwawet? I have no idea. But this dog is here, and every time his eyes look directly into the camera they are drawn--a little bit wrong. Not as bad as when they drew horses, but wow they did not really enjoy drawing this dog’s eyes when it’s straight on.
As for Chris and old man in this episode, I don’t know where they got this outfit style from. It sure ain’t traditional Ohlone. It’s...I mean it’s what happens when you don’t do your research, honestly. And I get the sense that these two aren’t supposed to be any Native American tribe as recent as Ohlone, and might be Atlantean from things they say later in this episode, in regards to cards and the spirit realm or whatever--but uh...
...where did these outfits...come from? I just want to know their research. Chris has a 1920′s hat for some reason. The old man has a staff with poofy bits on it. He dresses more like a 1960′s hippie than he does an indigenous person. Questions. I have questions.
Chris leads us outside to where this old biblical-looking character is collecting all of Yugi’s dropped cards. No idea where Weevil’s went, including the card of his that currently contains his soul. Probably underneath that Caltrain somewhere.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What does Kaiba make these cards OUT OF?
Tumblr media
Yami has decided, after this card shunned him once, that maybe it’s time to remove it from his deck.
(Pretty sure he did not decide to remove the Orichalcos, however, which is still in there, as we see later. Thing is, I just realized that Oricalchos would basically be Yugi’s soul, right? So maybe he just keeps it around for company? Takes it out occasionally and waves at it?)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Iron Heart kind of seems like that type of old guy who used to be a hippie and now teaches Physics to High Schoolers. I say this because I’ve had a couple of teachers a lot like Iron Heart where like you’d look at them and it’d be like “Yo you have to be like 600 years old, but like, all you talk about is all the drugs you did during the Hippie Era, how are you even still ALIVE?”
Speaking of people that shouldn’t be alive (although unlike my physics teacher, this guy is deffo dead...)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then just completely out of no where Yami demands a Spirit Journey.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like what the hell, Yami? That’s like...a crazy blunt assumption to make. Mind you, if I had asked my High School Physics teacher for a spirit journey, he would have had a lot of stories for me. He regularly told us that he could kick the ceiling (but couldn’t do it right now because he had to go to his special chiropractor first and get the right medication for that.)
Sorry my bro also had this Phsyics teacher and he just told me that he witnessed this 70+ year old man kick the ceiling and like...I don’t know if he’s lying. Either way, that is an incredible chiropractor.
Tumblr media
And then, adjust your seat belts folks, because then this happens,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
WOW!
WOW THAT’S A LOT OF LORE!
WOW HELL IS MY BACKYARD!
LITERALLY HELL BACK THERE!
Wow. Maybe that’s why California is on fire so often, amiright?
Man. In the Yugioh Universe 1.) The Loma Prieta Earthquake never happened so the Embarcadero is still multilevel 2.) The Bay Area industry got completely wiped out by Pegasus/Darts/Kaiba and is a literal wasteland 3.) The Caltrain actually goes fast 4.) Hell/Spirit Purgatory is located somewhere between the bedroom communities of San Jose and Millbrea.
The Yugioh Alternate California Universe is kind of awesome.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ah, welcome to Yosemite, now conveniently placed in South Bay.
It also has Hell for some reason.
Tumblr media
And then Yugioh decided to use a background from some other anime to save costs.
Tumblr media
Speechless, I’m absolutely speechless.
This is a good season, I don’t know what some of y’all were complaining about.
Anyway, I split this one into two because it felt like...too long for one update, but the other one will be hopefully up this weekend, that’s right--I’m getting back in to the swing of things. Sort of. Kind of.
but anyways, if you just got here, this is a link to read these in chrono order from the beginning.

Tumblr media
True. This is why I don't join certain churches. Some are the most prejudging groups you'll ever know. They won't even give you a chance as a person. They literally introduce themselves to you with forced robotic smiles and handshakes by asking you what's your religion and literally make their first five minutes with you calling you a sinner and stating all that's wrong with your church and about how theirs knows the Bible more and then they pick on even the tiniest most insignificant traditions of your life like celebrating birthdays and mentioning the name of Santa Claus and they conclude the whole chitchat by stating that unless you're in their group of people, they won't have shit to do with ya because you'll just drag them to Hell. It's like the entire chitchat was just a commercial for self-promotion of how they know the Bible better and are more knowledgeable on it scholastic-wise and barely even here about Jesus in the entire sermon. And then finally it comes to the testimony that they have to share and I take a sigh of relief that finally I can hear about Jesus for once. But, no, it's another session of rubbing in your face how they don't really feel God in your church but He's so evident in theirs and another five minutes of how they used to be total criminals while they were in your church but when they registered to this one, all of a sudden, they became "better than you". Like... dude... I came here to learn about Jesus... not learn every five minutes how you are "so much better" than me. And then they laugh about news of refugees dying because they "didn't have God with them" but "they did". And then they'd cheer on Donald Trump for putting up the wall to prevent entry of the "demons" that will drag them to Hell. The only two things you'll ever learn from being with them is that they're "better than you", and how to give the perfect BJ, because apparently they studied the Word and digested it and read clearly in the rules that it's only immoral when you stick it in the other end so then you're a sodomite and have no chance of being forgiven (unless you join their church that is) and are going to Hell. Before them, I never even knew what a BJ was, but they proudly brag about how they do it ten times a week. So studious of the Word indeed and of it's clear-cut rules and also so studious about Sex Ed. Ten minutes later, they're there giving you the hottest tips to the perfect one-night stand and their top-ten list of the perfect guys (including someone else's husband) to bang in their own bedroom because Queensland is apparently immoral and only for those who celebrate Sinulog, a tradition for "outdated barbarians". Thanks for telling me how you got the latest software update on Jesus Christ. Is the list of guys updated too? Because I also hear from some of them how there are those who are "too ugly to get laid by". I mean, those things don't even enter my mind. I look at a person and see someone beautiful and don't even analyze if he's even good-looking enough to get it on with. And if he's not, it's not like I will stop mingling with him like he's another demon that will drag me to Hell. And then with such confident smug smiles, they'd challenge you to list down what your church has that theirs doesn't that can make you study the Bible more conducively in yours, and they'd be ready to rebutt. I mean, I'd rather listen to the continuous gospel on Jesus by a grown guy wearing a tunic who sticks his privates into little boys' butts and then asks people to "mana po" to him later than to not learn a sentence straight at all and without the lesson being paused for another commercial of themselves. I mean, it can be pretty distracting to the lesson hearing every few verses how "I was once a Catholic too, but I got the software update so you can never call me lame and old-fashioned." get rubbed on your face. I'm not saying either that the other is holier with the way they completely disrespect their perfectly-working bodies and blame it all on chivalry and heroism and being the perfect spouse and yet contradict it with the way they treat and make to look like the very people they claim they're being chivalrous for, and as if that's even the only thing to love and completely ruling out the things of the heart which are what really matter and what really make up a person... and then judge their members' relationships whether rightfully or by their made up rules of physical heirarchy basing on their own looks of who's a bigger treat to who and who deserves who and who doesn't give justice to someone else's chivalry and who's an overall unworthy spouse... and then use their assumed righteousness to gain position and then assume this position as a sign of popularity which they also assume is a sign of attractiveness and then they ostracize who they reject as if it's a popularity show of who has the most supporters when really it's a religious community not American Idol. But at least that one is ad-free. But the sermon I'd wanna listen to the most is from someone who preaches it with his life and actions, because how you see Jesus in someone ain't from what is written on the religion section of their birth certificate if he got the "updated" label or the "barbaric" one. Words are so unnecessary and don't always prove anything. Neither does religion. And I'm sorry to tell you that yours is one too. And it's not gonna help if you give me another debate where in you lay down all the scholastically-defined rules of how you're not a religion. In fact, that just proves my point. I don't exactly see Jesus in you. I see Donald Trump. I see Hippocrates the Third, but at least the real dude is actually smart. And if you don't give other people the right to love Jesus with their lives unless they are part of you as if His name is under your copyright, then I'm sorry to say that you really are a religion. Nothing special. I came here to love, not to be fought and then made to feel like shit... only to gain nothing in the end. I never heard of Jesus preaching that way. For all I know, He gained His saved souls with love... just love. 🤷🏼‍♂️ And when you reject their offer to take you in their church, they have to let you elaborate with an impromptu speech. And when you just tell them it's because you can't see Jesus in them, they let you elaborate further. Then they whip out a Bible, a highlighter, a notebook and a pen and just go quoting all sorts of verses and making very scholastic equations and references that even stray so far into becoming no longer what the Bible even meant (Yes, I've read the Bible in full... word for word... cover to cover... over and over... with all my heart and asking Jesus to send me His Holy Spirit to guide me every so often. But they also bashed me all with a very plastic laugh of how "cute" it was that I thought I was doing it right and how I'm so "murang korek" attempting on my own the official Bible study their church would do and how "cute" it was that I tried to get all the steps right on my own without really an official brand and an offical program and an official strategy and criticized my order of reading the books in it like they even laughed how I should have read John first and then so on and so forth and then do this silly activity between those books by beating up a piñata superhero to teach me a Biblical lesson the fun and "fancy" way which my church never can because it's so "lame" and "outdated" and traditional.) but just stretched those words to sound so fancy just to prove to prove to you that Jesus is really in them all with a very forced plastic smile as they really rub it on you how Biblically undeducated you are which you wouldn't have been if you just joined their "perfect" program. And if you just leave and say sorry and do not want any more to deal with them, they give the most plastic smile and handshake and say they were just looking for their fellow saved souls and were just trying their luck if you were one of them but they realized they were wrong. Which is really another way of saying you're going to Hell. All with that very plastic smile on their face before they leave you. Last time I checked, Jesus never inflicted that much hopelessness into other people's souls... all for the sake of a self-promoting club. Last time I checked, He came to encourage and give hope even to the worst of sinners... even the one crucified beside Him... and on the very last minute. And that was what He loved for, to give them hope. And that was what He unified us all for... our shared hope. The fact that we're all sinners and we're all different and we're all sinners sinning in different ways... but we all share a hope. And that is what's supposed to unify us. And if you read the Bible, it doesn't exactly talk about hopelessness at all... like at all. If you read between the lines like you claim you do, we all fit the definition of sinners that should be burning in Hell... yet we all fit the definition of the kind of people He died for. We all fit the definition of people who deserve a second shot at life... and not just if we're registered in your club just because you think you copyrighted official repentance. Which is why the Bible never terrified me for all my life even when I think it's the scariest book there is but even inspired me and gave me a renewed sense of hope. It's literally the sweetest love story ever if you read between the lines. And this is the love story that's supposed to bind us all... because it's for us all. But what you're doing is just defeating the purpose. When I got exempted by an Ivy League college from taking the IELTs as a teen for reading comprehension results in the SAT, I immediately grew proud and thought of myself as better in reading the Bible than other people and I thought this was the actual blessing. But then I realized the real gift God gave me to really understanding the Bible was the ability to approach His Word with a HEART. It's not always about updatedness and being "scholastically better". Always, it's about heart. And that's the essence of being truly someone that is in Christ. You really don't need much brains or even any to have a heart. And that's exactly all He's asking which is exactly all you're trying to kill... in exchange for the qualities that don't even matter in anyone's journey to Christ... to the point that being RIGHT now means more to you than being RIGHTEOUS. You're killing all the qualities of heart for the qualities of ego. And that's defeating what Jesus has been trying to accomplish. What people are doing trying to form their own clique of who they think would be better than the other clique reminds me of the story of the Tower of Babel when people used the language they were even blessed to have to unify them to build themselves up in their pride rather than the name of God and used the gift of unification for division and so God took that unification away. They used what God gave them as a bridge, flipped it sideways and turned it into a wall. Ironic. Like the real Iron Wall. It was meant to be a bridge, it looked like a tower, but, really, it was a wall. I don't see anything different with what people are doing these days. God blessed us with His Son to unify people of all descriptions in the name of Love which is Himself, and we used it for division all over again. It's like a clique competition all over again to be the greatest... this time, using the name of God for the gimmick instead of a tower. This time, they're using churches. And the resemblance to the former story is uncanny. It's like the Church of Babel, and now the real one thing we're supposed to be bonding over has lost His spot in the story. Ego has taken His place. Fortunately, God does not take this gift away. He gives it freely, so we should share it, not copyright it. So what's really dividing us all is the lack of heart and the presence of ego in it's place. Creating a heirarchy and drawing the lines of what makes who better and what makes who less is literally segregating people on a shelf and is in no way reaching out to embrace each one in the same group hug... all out of the desire to be on the highest seat like a game of natural selection when He clearly said He's in it to save each one and go through all means for that goal... the goal our individual prides are trying to kill. Even Charles Darwin on his deathbed knew and said he was wrong... so why can't you? I guess that's why He in all His genius crafted out the first step to accepting Him... as humility. As what my 2016 documentary, Loved Biochemically and Beyond, pointed out... love finds it way in absolutely everything, even the science we know, to be the answer to everything. And the real meaning of Jesus who Himself is God is that Himself is Love. But now, I realized something else... the source of all the problems in the world: humans and their clashing egos. And this is real idolatry... when the God you worship is your own ego. And the worst thing that can happen to humanity is when we remove God who Himself is Love from His spot on the altar and put our individual selves on the spot. That's the perfect recipe for World War III. And so the real name of the devil... is ego. And many churches and even non-churches worship that beast.

More On Yaweh
FRI APR 17 2020
New York Governor Quomo, now famous for his daily updates on the battle against SARS-COV2 in NYC... the hardest hit place in the US by far... has taken to referring to the virus as, “The Beast.”
He didn’t invent the moniker.  Rather, he’s using it in solidarity with the front line medical workers who did.
It is a beast... a wild thing from nature, poorly understood, yet dangerous and deadly, running rampant... hiding in the shadows... etc.
But... as a guy who read the whole stupid Bible at 23... this feels like an unfortunate choice of name, because of the whole Book of Revelations, in which the big baddie in the end times is, “The Beast.”
At this juncture in the crisis, one could very easily remember that famous line that’s like, nobody can buy or sell who has not the mark of the beast upon his hand or his forehead, and think about proposed antibody tests...
Like... the key to reopening the economy is to identify those who have already developed antibodies to the virus... and give them a full pass to live life normally!
[CUE ALARMING BAND STRIKE]
But even though I have attributed this entire crisis to Yaweh... otherwise known as Jahova... I still don’t think this 2020 novel coronovirus outbreak is the fullfillment of New Testament prophecy.
For one thing... it just doesn’t fit...
...The Beast doesn’t take the stage until well after some much bigger story beats...
For one, the Temple of Jerusalem has to be rebuilt.  That’s key to the whole Yaweh, Covenant with Man / New Covenant narrative that runs through the book from Genesis through to the end.
For two, the Rapture also happens long before The Beast appears.  This is when all the faithful of heart of the final generation are spared the trial of death and taken directly up into Heaven... leaving only the wicked on Earth, to suffer the great tribulations to come.
Only then does The Beast show up... as some kind of global authoritarian who eventually wages war on Jerusalem.
So... nobody’s rebuilding the Jewish temple in Jerusalem without tearing down the Muslim temple that currently stands on the original site.  And that... is now impossible forever.
Why?
Well... so long as the world’s three monotheistic religions endure; Judaism, Christianity, and Islam... any attempt to remove brick one from the existing Muslim temple in Jerusalem will result in global thermonuclear war.
Yes, that’s a world ending scenario... but it’s not the one in the Book of Revelations... because in that one... the Jewish Temple is totally rebuilt and established long before Armageddon.
That prophecy can’t come true anymore.  It failed to predict modern science and technology.  It presumed we would always be about swords, and arrows, and oil lamps... never dreaming, even in the most whimsical flights of futurism in Revelation, anything like electricity, or atoms, or the existence of the Americas, or...
Well, I’ve dedicated an entry or two already to the, “unreasonable,” impossibility of predicting the future... such that... you can guarantee... anything you can imagine... will not be the outcome.
This is because... as disappointing as it seems... we can’t imagine much more than we’ve already experienced?
This feels like an oxymoron, because... surely, the only reason we are able to experience the current level of historical advancement... is thanks to our imaginations, right?
In terms of collective unconscious, this would be a horizon... like the limit out into space we can see, thanks to the speed of light.  That kind of thing.
Just can’t see more than a few steps ahead in even the blurriest focus, and even when we blur the predictions... they still never hold up.
But let’s bring our focus back to the three monotheistic religions currently dominating the... spirituality space?  It’s actually great that there are three, and not two, or one.
They balance each other out... each having equal pull... each with it’s own twist... appealing to it’s own global audience... saturating every level of government and society in the states where they’re most popular...
...which is about a third of the global states to each, right now, and probably forever more.
Two parties make a war... polar opposites who must battle to the death.
Three parties... makes compromise.  Maybe it’s heated and shitty for a while, but, in 2020... the one thing we all know is, if anybody ever fucking touches that Muslim temple in Jerusalem... BOOM BOOM!
And that, is directly attributable, to the fact that all three monotheistic religions; Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, all worship the same God...
...fuckin’ Yaweh!
Fuckin’ Jahova, Allah!
That guy... and I don’t pretend yet, to have a theory about what kind of cosmic agent that guy exactly is... is behind this pandemic.
I still hold to that, because global plagues are his style, and this is happening in an election year at Easter... and he’s all about global politics, and is at his most powerful on Easter... Yaweh is suspect number one.
As I said, if it walks like Yaweh, and it talks like Yaweh... it’s fuck’n Yaweh.
So what’s he doing?
He hasn’t really fucked with us like this... in this biblical way... since the dark ages.
But this is the first time in biblical history, that he told all three of his religions at once... I don’t want to see you guys in my temples this spring.
Why?
Well... this virus has exposed many a faithful to be hoarders of toilet paper and other vital supplies...  and extremely dismissive of tens of thousands of lives being lost... because they do not actually love their neighbors, despite their hollow hymns to the contrary, every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
He’s legendary for hating hypocrites, both Old Testament and New.
But just as legendary for taking extreme measures to make a point... and by extreme, I mean... lots of innocent lives.
Par for the course, I guess... for a semi-retired god, whose son runs the business very hands-off most of the time.
He knows we’ll take care of it... as fast as we can, because we’re so hyper adaptive and futuristic, right?  You think you’re so ingenious, take care of this one, bitches!
Nobody waitin’ round for global warming to play out naturally!
It’s a wake up call.
...from the God who beat out all the rest.
But it’s also a reminder.
He can still bring the pain!  He can bring a hell of a lot more than this too.  Look it up!
If you disrespect others... you still very much, in 2020... disrespect Yaweh.
And in his current mood?... best change your ways.

(WOW!)
Guys - thank you so much! I just found out that four of my stories made it to the Destiel Fan Survey Favs Collection and I’m so excited! Really - if you’ve been on my AO3, you know what writing means to me, so I won’t bore you with all that again, but just - I’m so happy right now, you have no idea. Thank you!
Tumblr media
These were your favourite of mine -
Autrement, Danger - or, The Account of an Exceedingly Long Day (M, 30K, tags: Sirens, sort of, Based on a Tumblr Post, Existential Crisis, Crack Treated Seriously, Dean is Bad at Feelings, Sam is a Sweetheart, Castiel Is So Done, Some Japanese Folklore, Obnoxious French Title, Will Probably End with Sex in a Hot Tub, update, yep, Hot Tub Sex, and also, Declarations Of Love, Castiel's True Form
When Dean looks at it, he sees Cas, and he's not happy about it. When Sam looks at it, he sees Jess, which is even more unfair and fucked up. And when Cas looks at it - hell, who knows what Cas is even thinking? Dean is not asking him, because he really doesn't care - like, at all.
Personal Space (G, 1K, tags: Sad and Happy, Castiel Feels, Poor Dean, Castiel and Dean Winchester Need to Use Their Words, Apocalypse, there is always an apocalypse somewhere, Humans are complicated, Anthropology, Declarations Of Love, (sort of), I Blame Tumblr, Episode: s05e03 Free to Be You and Me)
(That infamous discussion we never saw; story set early in season 5)
The Way Out (M, 70K, tags: Angst and Feels, Pining, general misery, Friendship, an hour of wolves and shattered shields, Time Travel, First Kiss, First Time, Declarations Of Love, unethical use of John Donne, Team Free Will, Young Winchesters, welcome to Florence, christmas cheer, Christmas Gloom, Profound Bond, Undying Love, Canon Compliant, Dean/Cas Big Bang Challenge 2016)
Things are going pretty good, which is why Dean should have seen it coming. Sam and Toni are so in love it’s disgusting, the big monsters are all gone or dead, and Dean and Cas - yeah, okay, so they kissed and now they're kind of together, okay? Shut up.
No, the second Dean had caught himself thinking about food processors and beach holidays, he should have fucking known his happy ending would turn around and kick him in his fucking teeth. And now it has, and they're supposed to get on a damn plane and put on monkey suits and have Christmas dinner at Lord and Lady Bevell's, and Dean just can't - he can't face it, he can't breathe, he can't even see through the injustice of it all, because Cas - Cas -

The truth is actually that the Holy book continuously calls the dental (spoken) topbeautybody.info heritage the word of The lord." (Jesus Christ Herself is likewise referred to as the Word of God" in John 1 as well as Hebrews 11:3.) Through describing the dental practice as the word of The lord," the Holy book is signifying that the apostolic oral practice is foolproof; and that it stands for, alongside Scripture, some of the resources of Jesus Christ's discovery which must be actually approved. Look at the amazing similarities that Scripture provides us in between just what occurred to the Ark from the Old Covenant in 2 Samuel 6 (2 Kings 6 in the Douay-Rheims Catholic Holy Bible), and exactly what occurred to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Ark from the New Commitment, in phase 1 from Luke's Scripture. All of this presents that the Catholic Church's teaching on christening is actually the true teaching of the Holy book. His parents, Al and also Angela McIldoon, confirmed their son's fatality to CBC They informed the electrical outlet that he was joining the music event along with his girl as well as was actually counted on to send back on Monday night.

“Nope, We're Not Doing That” based on  Jeremiah 44:11-19
After she retired, my friend the Rev. Dr. Barbara Thorington Green spent a year away from organized religion so that she could open herself to thinking about the Sacred in new and different ways. Her year off resulted in poetry that became the book “Calling God She? Reflections and insights of a great-grandmother, retired clergywoman, and doctor of theology.” This is one of my favorite poems in it:
Perhaps God is a quilter,
The quilter creates something warm and beautiful
out of bits and pieces of fabric,
using a variety of colors and designs.
The quilter takes things apart and puts them together again
creating something new, unpredictable, unique,
and perhaps never envisioned.
The quilter uses what is at hand
to create a blessing, sometimes planned,
sometimes created in the process.
You can see yourself as a piece of fabric
being used as part of the whole,
or you can envision the various times of life
as the fabrics and yourself as the end product.
Of course more will be added tomorrow
and the next day.
The quilt of our lives is ever changing.
Fabrics we would never chose
often add interest and character.
There can be many shapes and designs
as well as many fabrics in a quilt.
Each quilter has her own style
and way of being and doing.
The marks of the quilter
are everywhere on the quilt.
Hours of labor are required.
The results are always different,
yet in the end there is warmth and comfort.
When God is the quilter,
working internally and externally
Her marks are everywhere
creating beauty, warmth, and comfort.1
For me, Barb's work offers freedom and respite. The ways it offers to conceive of God make space for a broader and fuller picture. I've spent years thinking about Barb's assumption that she couldn't make space for the feminine aspects of God while being connected to the institutional church – because the church's God is too masculine. I've always wanted to be able to argue back at that point, but I've yet to find a truly valid point to use ;)
Institutional religion promoting a masculinized version of God is not new. Unfortunately, it may be a particular facet of OUR faith tradition, to start with. The ancient near eastern neighbors of the ancient Jews liked to keep their deities in gender balanced pairs. Judaism's monotheism was particularly odd because it proposed a stand-alone MALE deity. (We may want to acknowledge that God isn't gendered, but that's not the same as saying that the way the ancients saw God lacked gender.) Jeremiah seems to be speaking of a masculine deity in 585 BCE, in today's passage. He is speaking to Judean refugees, people who escaped Jerusalem during the Babylonian siege in 587-586 BCE and are residing in Egypt. These are traumatized people, as is the prophet, who have all seen the destruction of their homeland and way of life.
Jeremiah is sometimes called the prophet of the Exile. He is believed to have lived and prophesied before, during, and right after the Babylonian siege that started the exile. His early work was an attempt to convince people to change their behavior something terrible happened. In Bible Study we wondered if he got stuck in that message and forgot to update it after the terrible things all happened.
I cut most of his diatribe from our reading this morning, it is particularly miserable to listen to. His speech makes God sound like an abusive spouse. Jeremiah is angry that the Egyptian refugees are worshiping a Goddess. Now, seemingly every commentator in every Bible commentary in existence takes Jeremiah's side in this argument, supporting the idea that worshiping a Goddess is idolatry and God had a right to act like a jealous (raving lunatic) spouse.
So, I'm going take on all of them! (Although not just for fun. I think they're all wrong.) The women respond to Jeremiah's furious accusations in a quite unexpected way. They respond, “Nope, we're not doing that.” Actually, their words are even better than my summary. They respond, “‘As for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of the Lord, we are not going to listen to you.” GIGGLE. I love the contrast between Jeremiah ranting and raving and expressing fury (I imagine him spitting a little bit at the sides of his mouth while he speaks) and the women calmly denying his authority over their lives.
The women go on to say that they'd worshiped the Goddess for generations, and that she'd always taken good care of them. The women say that things were going fine for them until they stopped worshiping the Goddess, and that everything went to hell when they stopped. Thus, they say, they're going back to what worked.
Now, early in Jeremiah's ministry, he got the young King Josiah to listen to him and they instituted serious reforms. The reforms including monotheism, which most scholars think is the first time it was practiced in the history of ancient Judaism. (I could proof text this for you, but I'm not going to. Let me know if you want references later!) Monotheism mean that only YHWH was to be worshiped, and that meant that the long term worship of the Goddess was suppressed. (More on this theory of the long-term worship of a Hebrew Goddess to come.)
Now, I think the theology of both Jeremiah AND the women is flawed. Judea sat on land that was the cross-roads of the ancient world and every empire that existed wanted to control it. Both groups assume a Deity who micromanages and who punishes the people for lack of faith by destroying their nation. I don't believe in such a Deity, rather I think it stunk for the Jewish people that the “Promised Land” was such a highly prized crossroads. But, to be fair, I think that both Jeremiah and the women's arguments are EQUALLY problematic.
All those Biblical commentators who take Jeremiah's side claim that the real issue here was the people's idolatry and that the response of the women shows the hard-heartedness of the people. They claim that the Jewish women were worshiping some sort of Canaanite or Babylonian Goddess, or perhaps a hybrid of the two. The Biblical commentators seem to think that God is justified in the abusive, violent language of a jealous spouse.
Ironically, they seem to miss that the presentation of God made by Jeremiah is HYPER masculine. To be fair, the origins of YHWH are in a warrior God, so there has always been a hyper masculine tone there. But Jeremiah claiming that this masculine warrior is angry and ready to kill and shame is really the very worst stereotype of masculinity imaginable, right? That's toxic masculinity. Masculinity can be so much more and so much better than that, and it almost always is! But Jeremiah is speaking of God who is violent, jealous, and murderous, as a warrior - he is presenting God in the very worst of masculine ways.
The women are claiming that there is more to life, and more to the Divine than that. So, I'm on their side. In 1967 Raphael Patai wrote seminal book entitled The Hebrew Goddess2. It has been summarized this way, “Raphael Patai argues that the Israelites experienced the same Goddess-hunger that can be found in peoples and cultures all around the world in every age – and Patai insists, too, that the worship of a female deity by the Israelites was not an act of apostasy but rather an integral part of the religion of the Hebrews.'”3 Patai, and those who have followed in his footsteps in looking for clues about folk religion, think that many ancient Hebrews worshiped a female Goddess they saw as YHWH's spouse and counterpart. I think this is pretty reasonable. If you conceive of God purely in the masculine, the human need for balance well find a way to also understand God in the feminine.
The Women's Bible Commentary thinks so too, and take it a step further. They say, “It seems certain that the Israelite women worshiped the queen of heaven. Women were excluded from full participation in temple worship, and the predominate Israelite conception of God was masculine. The queen provided them with a female deity who offered them protection and prosperity.”4I think this passage is the most overt place we can see the women's faith. There are other places that traces of it can be found (and Patai's book explains them all), but this is the one where it is in plain sight.
The women admit to worshiping a Goddess, and they think it is not only good, it is imperative. They reject the prophet who claims that only the male version of God can be worshiped. They just won't! In fact, Patai mentions a letter from 419 BCE written by a military man about the Judean colony in Egypt. The collections given to the Jewish priest are enumerated. 123 people donated in the name of YHWY, 120 donated to the Queen of Heaven.5 Jeremiah appears to have lost this argument.
Now, as a 21st century Christian, I don't think God is male, nor female. I prefer to think of God as existing beyond gender, but I also recognize that our minds are limited and metaphors are often more powerful with more specificity. Sometimes I need to imagine God as a Latina grandmother, in order to remember God's fierce protection and love. Sometimes I need to remember my own paternal grandfather and use his unfaltering affection as a way to access God's acceptance. I suspect most of us need metaphors for God that have gender, but that whenever we limit God by holding one image alone (particularly an image that reflects only one gender expression or only one ethnic identity), we end up missing much of God's nature. The institutional church has often done this, and as a result, splinter groups have left in order to see God more fully. Particularly, when the conception of God that institutional religion propagates fits in with the authority figures of society (ahem, white supremacy and the patriarchy) we know that religion is NOT reflecting God, but rather its own values.
I do, vehemently, support thinking about Goddess imagery sometimes. (And thinking about God as genderqueer sometimes too.) I think those women in Egypt were right to refuse Jeremiah's decree and to trust their own experience. I'm so thankful that their voices refuse to associate violence and abuse with the Divine! It really matters that they saw more to Holiness than what Jeremiah was claiming! It also matters that they worked together and trusted themselves more than an external authority figure! Finally, I think it matters that they choose to worship the Sacred they know to call them to life and wholeness, not the one who punished and threatened. Those women knew a lot. May we be wise enough to listen to their wisdom. Amen
