quick answer: because hyunjin is too hot to look terrible, ever

long answer: i'm personally not a fan of it, the long hair is his signature. from a technical standpoint, it's not dyed as i wish it was, too. not all buzzcuts are created equal: i would bring it closer to the head, and color it darker. zayn style. his barber was always the shit.

one could say zayn's face is carrying it, but it's fair to put hyunjin in that level of beauty as well, i think. although zayn is a classic type of sorts, though, maybe SC. i changed my mind about him being a TR. his body type is too rectangular, chiseled. niall is more yin, for instance. and many classic men have a reputation for being visually perfect and at a medium 5'9-ish height, which zayn is. male Rs are smaller and way softer. jimin is the #1 example, still.

that being said, classics do buzzcuts semi-better since that hairstyle is ultra-symmetrical. although it wasn't well-executed, it looks cute on taehyung (who's certainly in the classic family, too).

still, kibbe only recs going that short to gamines anyway (e.g. natalie & kristen below) as they are short in statue — the kibbe principle is "putting same things to same things" to create beauty — and he is right. the buzzcut belongs to G much like tousled hair belongs to Ns, sleek hair to Ds, the middle part to C, and curls to R.

there's a reason why XG's rapper cocona blew up when she chopped her hair off, just like cheetah did for unpretty rapstar back then. unsurprisingly, cocona is a gamine.

now for hyunjin, the close-cut buzz is sort of suitable for him since dramatic types are typically advised by kibbe to show off their bone structure, and being bald (or close to) accomplishes that.

him wearing outfits suitable for his SD type also contribute to it looking good (especially your 3rd image has a nice shimmery, but sturdy SD fabric jacket). versace suits SD, and a head to toe look can compensate for a haircut outside your ID.

it does show off his beautiful face! and the fluffed up texture is quite yin. but hyunjin's dark waves (bring them back 😭) have been universally flattering and i haven't seen anyone who hates it whereas the new cut has people calling him a human kiwi 😅

as a rule of thumb, sharp yang men do well with either very long or very very short hair, shorter than gamine even, since D and SD are about extremes. so, i think going that cropped has its merits. jin being SD already showed us how good it can look on that type. it does come down to having a gorgeous face. i still can't get over how huge of a transformation it is for hyunjin, it's crazy.

hello, just wanted to say that while Namjoon never went on Show Me the Money as far as I know, him and Bobby did have a lyrical skirmish after Bobby won Show Me The Money Season 3 (it was a big deal at the time for an idol rapper to win the show). It’s recapped here and basically fizzled out after the 2014 MAMAs where both Bobby and Namjoon performed. Also, Chanyeol performed on Unpretty Rapstar if I remember correctly!

Ahn Soojin was born on November 7, 1998 to a chef, Ahn Jungmo, and a nurse, Kim Soeun in Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. She is the oldest of five daughters. In 2008, her mother and two youngest sisters were murdered by an unknown assailant that broke into their home in Gyeonggi-do while Soojin and her other two sisters helped her father close up at his restaurant. She then moved to Seoul with her remaining family; her father, and her sisters, Minkyung and Solbin.

Soojin was scouted five times by Delphi Entertainment online from her rising popularity as an ‘ulzzang’ but didn’t go to auditions until 2016 when they contacted her father. In 2016, she was a contestant on Unpretty Rapstar 3 and was a semifinalist.

#BACKGROUND

Izabella was born in Auckland, New Zealand, on december 23, 1998 to a korean family, having two older sisters, one of them being Rosé from the popular kpop girl group Blackpink. At the age of five years old Izabella and her family moved to Melbourne, Australia; there, she started taking different classes since early age: jiu jitsu (even participating in national competitions), aerial and contemporary dance, she learned how to play the drums, the piano and the guitar, and even joined the church choir along with her sister Rosé.

In 2011, at age of 13 and influenced by her dad’s words, she attended an audition in Sydney, Australia for South Korean record label SM Entertainment, ranking at the top three among 1000 participants, and just some months after that, her sister Rosé signed with YG. They both dropped out of school and moved to South Korea with their mom.

At first, she was happy with being signed only as an actress and having small roles to start with her career, but then she realized that acting wasn’t her passion, and after two years, she parted with SM on good terms.

Some months after that, she got scouted by an agent of Starship Entertainment. Izabella even trained with the (now) monsta x members and even got contemplated to join the survival show “no mercy,” but she didn’t end up joining. In the winter of 2015, Izabella opens a soundcloud account and starts releasing her own songs under the stage name of “cherry,” her popularity starting to grow, even getting considered as one of the best underground rappers back then. In 2016, she decides on parting with Starship too on good terms.

Trying to not give up even after the circumstances and after seeing her older sister’s success, she joins “unpretty rapstar” in 2016 under the stage name of ‘cherry’, making it into the finals and ranking at 3rd place. A year later, she joins another survival show: “show me the money,” being part of zico’s and dean’s team, making it into the finals and finishing on 3rd place.

yongie, i just watched euna kim's documentary. she was in superstar k, then become a yg trainee. she gets out of yg and debuted with girlgroup "the ark" which they only have one song before disbanding. after that she participated in "unpretty rapstar 3", and then "the unit". after all that, she debuted in a duo-group "khan" which they also have only one song before disbanding.

she was truly talented and she also looked like a very nice person like she has a very positive vibes around her. i think she is an artist who's the kpop industry failed the most. is it possible she never achieve any success even after all that experience because she lacks connection, sponsors, and money? or even refuse to be involved in "special favors" for the higher ones in the industry? ;-;

she also mentioned that her company told her she can't have a part time job anymore because it makes them look bad that their celebrity have to do a normal job to support themselves and because of that she had to do a "secret" nighttime job at the bars where she got a lot of sexual harassment.

i just think that our idols must sacrifice so so much to be in their position right now. no wonder they have to do some scary shit in order to debut because just train hard even for years will get you nowhere 💔 💔💔

I personally don’t know Euna Kim nor have I watched her documentary. It if indeed unfortunate that she wasn’t sure to reach her goals and dreams, and it also reminds us that working in the industry isn’t easy. Not everyone has the chance to do so and even those who have the chance, had to give so much of themselves.

It is possible that her lack of sponsorship and financial support/connections might have had an impact on her outcome, but since I don’t know her and never made any reading I cannot be sure. But it’s a possibility
