Crazy thing is I’ve been given a lot of clips of Abe’s lines the last few days

One thing a lot of people seem to mishear is thinking he’s referred to under the proper spelling of “Grandpa” rather than this combo take on the “Gramps” variant.Kind of reminds me how Herb wanted to be an “Uncie”(Unky?) rather than “Uncle”.

Brother, Can You Spare Two Dimes? Season 3 - Episode 24 | August 27, 1992 Ah yes, the return of Unky Herb. Staring Daniel Devito. So this episode is about Herb Powell coming back in the Simpsons lives after being ruined by Homer’s car idea. Herb invents a machine that can interpret what babies say, using Maggie as a guinea pig. This one is real good. I mean, I didn’t really remember it as being as hilarious as it was. I kinda glibly thought “oh yeah that’s a good one” by virtue of the fact that it’s a season 3 episode. But this time around I really howled. The opening in particular really got me on this go-round, where Homer has to have a physical at the plant. Homer eating chicken in some kind of fluid tank and telling the doctor to “go to hell” when he yells at him is so fucking funny and simple and great. Okay so fun fact, you know how in the Rodney Dangerfield one he’s running after the train asking if it goes to Springfield, to which a passenger replies “which state?” a gag acknowledging the fact that Springfield doesn’t really officially belong to any state in particular. That was actually a deleted joke in this one, where Herb hops a train to find Homer. Pretty fun fact, huh? Okay good glad you thought so because I’m tapped out now. THE B-SODE:

Beavis and Butt-head: “Beavis, Can You Spare a Dime?” Season 5 - Episode 32 | July 10, 1995 Well, I had to use the title to come up with a B-sode. Sorry. In this one, Beavis and Butt-head meet a panhandler on the street voiced by Bobcat Goldthwait and decide to get into panhandling themselves. This episode has to be one of the most-played episodes on MTV. I remember this along with a few others used to disappoint me when I stumbled across it. Sure, it’s memorable, but it’s a little TOO memorable, if you know what I mean.... to say the least!
