Surah at-Tawbah
Surah at-Tawbah [This is a declaration of] disassociation, from Allah and His Messenger, to those with whom you had made a treaty among the polytheists. (Quran Surah at-Tawbah 9:1) So travel freely, [O disbelievers], throughout the land [during] four months but know that you cannot cause failure to Allah and that Allah will disgrace the disbelievers. I want everyone to understand that even if Israel wins this (I mean it won't but just imagine), it won't recover from this. It won't recover from getting caught off guard on Oct 7th. The government and the IDF spent days unable to have a strategic response to the Palestinian fighters while their own soldiers deserted and their allies openly questioned the wisdom of a ground invasion in Gaza. That's why they're bombing Gaza, it is the only way to project strength to the world but it is also alienating billions of people. The world has never been more pro Palestine than this moment in time.
Just like how America being forced to flee Afghanistan led to a series of Ls globally, Israel struggling against Hamas, PFLP, Islamic Jihad, and other groups will have disastrous effects locally and internationally. I mean, the political class is already falling apart with Netanyahu blaming government officials for this disaster. The Israeli government have no unity or cohesion which is not a great sign to put it lightly. War usually binds people, even rival political groups, and especially allies. America has been hinting that it doesn't approve of some of actions taken by Israel. It could be just Biden and his people trying to softly distance him from the genocide in Gaza but you also have former and current military leaders disapproving of Israel's military strategy.
The thing is you don't see Iran openly questioning the Palestinians. You don't see Hezbollah running to the press to let them know they think Hamas' strategy is weak. Every single Palestinian militia group, including the ones in the West Bank, are working together. Iran, Hezbollah and the Palestinians are all coordinating. In the past week, they would attack Israeli settlements and military bases and American bases in Iraq and Syria at the same time. They've even managed to get new support from the Yemeni Ansar Allah group.
Israel's main export is security- meaning weapons manufacturing and training. How many countries will rush to have their police or soldiers train with the IDF after witnessing them fold while in battle (in the latest ground incursion, the IDF lasted only 15 minutes inside Gaza according to Al Jazeera)? How many countries will line up to buy Israeli tanks after seeing them get taken out easily by guerilla fighters? How many countries and individual investors will want to invest in Israel when it can't go 5 years without a war or genocide?
I believe with all my heart we will soon see a liberated Palestine.

Qibla direction holds a significant place in the Islamic faith, symbolizing the direction towards the Kaaba in the Sacred Mosque in Mecca, which is a focal point for Muslims around the world. The term "qibla" itself translates to 'direction' in Arabic, signifying the spiritual orientation that Muslims adopt during their prayers. To assist individuals in determining the qibla direction, various tools and methods have been developed, ranging from traditional compasses to modern technological solutions. One such method involves aligning a real compass with the direction of North to establish the correct qibla direction. Additionally, advancements in technology have led to the creation of Qibla finder apps and online platforms that offer accurate qibla direction information with just a few clicks.
The availability of tools like Qibla finder apps and online platforms has made it easier for Muslims to find the qibla direction with precision and convenience. These applications utilize GPS technology to determine the user's current location and provide the corresponding qibla direction, allowing individuals to perform their prayers with accuracy regardless of where they are in the world. Moreover, online Qibla Finders offer comprehensive databases that include the qibla angles of important cities and centers worldwide, enabling users to access this vital information swiftly and efficiently. By embracing these technological advancements, Muslims can fulfill their religious obligations with confidence and peace of mind, knowing they are facing the sacred Kaaba during their prayers.
Identifying the correct qibla direction is of utmost importance for Muslims when performing their daily prayers. The qibla finder as a focal point that unites Muslims globally in worship, emphasizing the unity and solidarity within the Islamic community. Ensuring that one faces the qibla during prayer is not only a physical alignment but also a symbolic connection to the center of the Islamic faith, fostering a sense of spiritual connection and devotion. By correctly identifying the qibla direction, individuals uphold a fundamental aspect of their faith and demonstrate reverence and obedience to Allah, enhancing the spiritual significance and efficacy of their prayers.

Welcome WalidGold
Walter Jenkins, a square-faced man in his thirties with a layered red haircut, stood in front of his office mirror, meticulously adjusting his gold tie knot. He wore a crisp suit, black with gold accents here and there—a nod to his role as manager of the famous sports team, the Golden Team.
Tumblr media
Each member of the team wore their Gold uniforms, a symbol of their success and unity, and Walter, always dapper, found subtle ways to incorporate the color into his own outfit. Today, it was his tie clip, watch, and belt buckle that sparkled in the dim office light.
On the mahogany desk sat a small bottle, with Arabic writing etched into the glass. It was a gift from a friend, @arab-god.
Tumblr media
Why not try it, he thought, with a wry smile. Without further hesitation, he uncorked the bottle and swallowed the liquid in one gulp. At first, he didn't feel anything out of the ordinary.
But a few moments later, a wave of heat invaded his body. His red beard, although well-groomed, began to gradually darken, turning a deep brown. The heat spread, making his skin browner and browner, as if every cell of his being was burning with energy. His muscles swelled, his body became wider, more imposing, as if every fiber of his flesh was being reforged under the effect of the drink.
Tumblr media
Walter staggered slightly, his hands gripping the desk to keep his balance. He felt his mind grow numb, his head became lighter, as if his intelligence was slowly fading to make way for something more primal.
Tumblr media
His Gold tie strained against his pecs, which were developing visibly. Each breath was heavier, slower, as the heat reached his lower abdomen, triggering an even more radical transformation.
Tumblr media
He placed a hand on his chest, watching in amazement as his red hair turned black, taking on a more neat, almost slicked-back look. His eyes, previously a bright blue, became dark, almost black, as a voice echoed in his head, murmuring words in Arabic.
Tumblr media
Walter didn't understand a thing, but he knew, deep down, that something had changed. He repeated these words mentally, without understanding their meaning. Suddenly, everything became clear: he had surrendered to something greater. He submitted to the force of this transformation, feeling a new power invade his mind and body. *Allah*... A clear, precise word, invaded his mind.
He felt stronger, more confident, and above all... more dominant. He straightened up, becoming aware of his new body. His skin was tanned, his features harder, his gaze, now dark brown, more piercing. He ran a hand over his beard, which had grown thick and black. Now he was Walter, but also something more. He felt more masculine, more imposing. Every gesture, every movement gave off an aura of power and control.
Tumblr media
Standing in his office, Walter or whatever he had become stared into space. His right hand played absently with his tie as his mind sank into a thick, confused haze. Fuzzy memories came to mind, but none of them seemed to belong to the life he had led so far.
Images of his childhood in a small American town, his rising career in sports management, all of it gradually dissipated, like a dream that evaporates in the morning. In their place, a new reality imposed itself, more powerful, more vivid. He was no longer Walter.
Perhaps he had never been. *Walid*, that was who he was. The name echoed in his mind, filling every corner of his being.
Memories of a sunny childhood in a faraway land, in the heart of palm-lined alleys and bustling markets, imposed themselves on him. His parents, pious and respected, had taught him the values of religion from a young age. Every morning, he rose for prayer at dawn, his eyes still sleepy, but his heart filled with faith. Walter's mind was slowly burning, absorbed by these new memories. He was no longer the man he believed himself to be. *Walid*, the son of a prosperous merchant, had grown up learning to dominate his environment, to impose his will with charisma and authority.
Very young, he had developed a natural talent for business, a keen sense of commerce and negotiation. Everything in his life had converged towards an unstoppable rise. Within a few years, he had become an influential businessman, respected throughout the country.
Every morning, Walid put on his suit and tie, a symbol of his success and power.
Tumblr media
His unwavering faith had been his guide throughout this journey. He prayed fervently, guided by the love of Allah, and strove to spread the good word wherever he went. His success was not only the fruit of his hard work, but also of his deep devotion to his Creator.
It was Allah who had given him this strength, this natural dominance over other men. Every day, dressed in his impeccable suit, Walid stood as a manager, but also as a guide, a model of masculinity. With his ties and elegant suits, he embodied success, faith, and power. Under his leadership, the team was no longer simply a sports team, but a unified force, driven by a deeper conviction.
Adjusting his tie, he contemplated his reflection in the mirror. His tanned skin, his impeccably groomed black hair, his perfectly trimmed dark beard... Everything about him exuded a natural authority. Walid stood there, towering and powerful, ready to spread the good word through his success in business and sports. There was no more doubt, no more hesitation. Walter Jenkins was a distant memory. Now, he was *WalidGold*.

In this dunyah everyone of us has his own concerns, from those mundane to those of the akhirah, those who chose the dunyah may be safer, they may deal less with separation and the pain of departure, but wallah the brotherhood and the bond between muslims upon this path is indescribable, and the relationship we have with our Lord is  like that of a companion with his dearest companion, regardless of the constant plots of the kuffar to scatter this unity, a bond and a knot tied by Allah cannot be untied by any of his creation. Alhamdulillah!
Wallah the path is hard, each one of us deals with problems that make him think he’s the most tested amongst his peers yet we wouldn’t trade this suffering for the fake enjoyment of the dunyah ever.
And wallah the day we chose this path we weren’t ignorant of the hardships on it, nor were we ignorant of our weakness as vulnerable humans, but we knew that anyone who took a path searching for His lord’s pleasure will never be left disappointed.
Oh Allah, we expect and hope the best from You, -Oh One whose pleasure is dearer to us than this dunyah and what is in it, and one who is greater than our pains and worries- so bless us until our hearts are satisfied, do not make the dunyah our main worry, and remain always in our company, even if the world and those in it forsake us.
ليتك تحلو والحياة مريرة
وليتك ترضى والأنام غضابُ
I wish You’d be pleased, even if life remains bitter,
And I wish You’d be content, even if all others are angered.
وليت الذي بيني وبينك عامر
وبيني وبين العالمين خرابُ
I wish the bond between You and me is flourishing,
And the bond between me and the world is in ruins.
إذا صح منك الود فالكل هين
وكل الذي فوق التراب ترابُ
If Your love is true, all else becomes trivial,
For everything upon this earth is mere dust

a lot of framing of the problem of idolatry frames it as like, competition between God and a bunch of other guys, as if they're the same category of being but God is just the best one. and it's certainly a framing that happens in the Bible, which uses a lot of strongly anthropomorphic language for God.
but in light of actual Christian belief being that God is the source of all being, goodness/perfection/beauty/life itself, something far beyond the category of being, the ultimate and sole cause of everything - it becomes quite obvious that God is not even just 'the best deity' or 'the Mary Sue of ancient near eastern gods', but something that transcends such categories.
it's not 'superman would beat batman', it's not 'the death star would beat the enterprise', it's not even 'hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby'; it's asking whether a gun could defeat the sunrise. it's a category error.
(i remember a friend once told me theyd been taught by a professor of Islam that strictly speaking that while in English God often gets used to translate Allah, in Arabic it is incorrect to actually call Allah a 'god', because Allah transcends such a category. Allah isn't on the same level as other so-called gods. Given it's thirdhand info take with a grain of salt but it's an interesting comparison to English where use of capital G-God might position us instead to think 'God is just like the mary sue of zeus, hera, odin')
and with that in mind, i think the problem of idolatry shifts from 'here are all these other guys who are competing for God's place' to 'these idols are trapping people's perception of Divinity in a dead end'. crude anthropomorphism, investing divinity in things of gold and metal, being diverted from the true Unity behind everything.
and i guess the practical difference behind this is i think it can shift some room to be more appreciative of, say, Hinduism without evacuating idolatry of any kind of actual relevance. Hinduism (generally - recognising there is much diversity in Hindu traditions) acknowledges that the myriad of gods are ways of understanding Brahman behind everything, and though there are surely still issues and problematic points from a Christian perspective, i think there are grounds to identify that Hindu polytheism can avoid the trap of idolatry in locking people to a crude understanding of divinity as just really powerful dudes.
conversely, even in Christianity there is much potential for similar dangers of trapping your perception of God with images that need to be moved past (God as old man in the clouds) or even smashed (God as old man who literally has a Son, God as literal despot governed by might makes right). and altho there is the saving grace that at least your intention is to worship the true God, it doesn't save you from blaspheming that God by what you ascribe to him.

🟡 Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
"Do not think of those who have been killed in the cause of Allah as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision."
This is the Truth of Allah the Almighty.
With the highest expressions of pride and honor, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement - Fatah, announces to our steadfast Palestinian people and to the free people of our Arab and Islamic nation the martyrdom of the national leader, freed prisoner, and fighter:
Yahya Ibrahim al-Sinwar “Abu Ibrahim”
Head of the Political Bureau of Hamas and leader of the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle.
He ascended, advancing without retreat, after a life filled with jihad and resistance, humiliating the zionist entity, its settlers, leaders, and cowardly collaborators. He was always at the front lines of confrontation and engagement with the enemy and its soldiers. In this moment, we affirm the following:
First: The policy of assassinations targeting our leaders and fighters in Palestine and everywhere will not succeed in breaking the will of our people to attain their national rights to freedom and independence.
Second: As we extend the highest expressions of pride and honor to our people, to our brothers in arms in the Al-Qassam Brigades, and to the family of the martyr, we draw inspiration from the martyrdom of heroic leaders, which motivates us to continue on the path of struggle and national unity until complete victory and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with al-Quds as its capital.
Third: We call on the masses of our people to unite and stand in solidarity in this critical phase of our people’s journey, by strengthening resilience, resisting the occupation, rejecting all plots aiming to liquidate our cause, and maintaining political and geographical unity between Gaza and the West Bank, including al-Quds as the capital, as one political and sovereign entity.

Just came across this post and it got me thinking that Islam encourages spreading kindness and love. If we all start ignoring these values, what's the point of living?
If someone hates us just because of the one mistake we made, then that person isn't considered bad. So instead of complaining about it let's improve ourselves first instead of blaming that person. Not all people are bad, some appear to be bad but they're not.
Let's come together and pray for a peaceful world where humanity and unity prevail. May Allah Azzawajal guide us to be a source of peace for others. Ameen 🤍

Sheikh Salih al-Fawzan, [may Allah preserve him], said:
“It is imperative and highly beneficial to gather children during meals, avoiding them eating separately. Eating together not only fosters a sense of unity but also brings blessings and prosperity to the food.
A good [and simple] practice in disciplining children is to instill in them the habit of communal dining, rather than allowing them to eat in isolation.”

Mary/Maryam's Gender
Very different from many Islamofascist discourses and even discourses of modern remnants of Muslim traditionalism, both the Quran and classical Islamic philosophy and theosophy hold that gender is something quite dynamic. Genders are not different by essence but are ontologically and teleologically related due to their common root in a unity of being.
“O mankind, be aware of your Caretaker who has created you from one single self and He created from it its mate and sent forth from it many men and women; and be aware of Allah whom you ask about, and the relatives. Allah is watcher over you.” (Quran 4:1)
“Your creation and your resurrection is as one single self, truly Allah is He Who hears and sees.” (Quran 31:28)
Gender is in the Quran seen as a manifestation of a primordial “duality in unity”, similar to the Chinese idea of Yin/Yang, but just like the Chinese idea of Yin and Yang we can not reduce this primordial duality to simple material entities.
“It exists within every fraction of creation, even within our own selves. And of everything we have created pairs, so that you may contemplate.” (Quran 51:49)
It by far transcends any biologisms and it is itself transcended by the final unity of being. In classical Quranic exegesis it is Maryam (Mary, the mother of Jesus) who is most often seen as the person whose life expresses this principle in the best way. I´d like to cite some quranic verses, a wellknown and wellrespected Sunni tafsîr (exegesis) and the quote of a wellknown Sufi writer with regards to this.
When the woman from the house of Imran said: “My Caretaker, I have vowed to You what is in my womb, dedicated, so accept from me, You are the Hearer, the Knower.”
So when she delivered she said: “My Caretaker, I have delivered a female,” but Allah knew well of what she delivered, for the male is not like the female. “and I have named her Maryam, and I seek refuge for her and her progeny with You from the outcast devil.”
So her Caretaker accepted her a good acceptance, and made her grow into a good growth, and charged Zachariah with her. Every time Zachariah entered upon her in the temple enclosure, he found provisions with her. He said: “O Maryam, from where did you get this?” She said: “It is from Allah, Allah provides for whom He wishes without reckoning.” (Quran 3:35-37)
And the angels said: “O Maryam, Allah has chosen you and cleansed you, and He has chosen you above the women of the worlds.”
“O Maryam, be dutiful to your Caretaker and prostrate and kneel with those who kneel.” (Quran 3:42-43)
Next, a longing for a male child arose in her heart. Thus her imagination, firm resolution and expectation exercised an influence upon the fetus. Consequently, Maryam was born blessed with a virile disposition.[…] Maryam was a woman with the qualities of a man, as there are also men with an effeminate nature. This because by nature she looked out for Allah and centred all hopes in Him.
– From the Tawîl al Ahadîth of Shah Waliullah Dehlavi (1703-1762 CE)
“When tomorrow on the Day of Resurrection the call goes up, ‘O men!’, the first person to step into the ranks of men will be the virgin Maryam.”
– From the Tadhkirat al Awliyâ of Fariduddin Attar (ca. 1145-1221 CE)

Yesterday I said my Shahada and did all 5 daily prayers for the first time. I’ve done all 5 prayers again today and have connected with some queer Muslims in a club on Trevor Space and joined the el-Tawhid Juma Circle: The Unity Mosque on Facebook and plan to attend their Friday Juma service InshaAllah. I’d like to say my Shahada again in a mosque surrounded by other Muslims, but I’m beyond happy to have done it now and am enjoying learning more about the Quran and Islamic faith and praying to Allah. Though I may not be anywhere close to a “perfect” practicing Muslim, I definitely feel like I made the right decision.
If you’re queer and Muslim/interested in Islam and how it connects to lgbt concepts a couple resources I found that I recommend include this guide list: [https://taplink.cc/infolgbtq] and this Google drive folder: [https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1vWsmtnWZaoMMWCu4BqVfVqxRI-OvnvN_]. I especially recommend this post discussing the story of Prophet of Lut (pbuh) since that story is often brought up against homosexuality in Islam: [https://thefatalfeminist.com/2020/12/07/prophet-lut-a-s-and-bal-%d8%a8%d9%84-the-nahida-s-nisa-tafsir/]
I plan on waiting until I develop a stronger relationship with Allah through reading and understanding the Quran and develop my religious practice more before I tell those I know in person, but it’s important to me that I begin connecting with other Muslims now + I’d like to share my experiences and thoughts on here :3
That’s all I have to post myself for now. As-salamu Alaykum, I hope you have a good rest of the week and follow me if you’re interested <3.

In 1977, Zahir Muhsein, a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and a military commander of the PLO, in an interview with the Dutch newspaper, TROUW, declared the Palestinian people to be a propaganda invention. His exact words:
“The Palestinian people do not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct ‘Palestinian people’ to oppose Zionism.
“For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we claim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan”.
“It is common knowledge that Palestine is nothing more than southern Syria” — Ahmed Shukeiry, head of the PLO, to UN Security Council, May 31, 1956
“… Palestine is not only a part of our Arab homeland, but a basic part of southern Syria.” — Syrian President Hafez Assad, Radio Damascus, March 8. 1974
“Yes, the existence of a separate Palestinian identity serves only practical purposes. The founding of a Palestinian state is a new tool in the continuing battle against Israel …” — Zuheir Muhsin, Head of the Military Department and Executive Council, PLO, Trouw, March 1977
In the Quran, there are 10 passages which state that Allah bequeathed the land to the Jewish people. In all of these instances, it is written that there is not only the right but the obligation placed on the Sons of Israel to inherit the land. On the other hand, there is no mention in the Quran of bequeathing the land to Muslims, Arabs, Palestinians, or any other nation not called the Jewish people.

Embracing the Beauty of Islam: It’s Profound Effects
Tumblr media
Islam, with its plethora of teachings, is a source of profound beauty that enriches the lives of its followers and extends a universal invitation to all. This article explores some of the positive effects of Islam, shedding light on how these principles enhance our lives and contribute to the well-being of society.
Compassion and Charity: A Heartfelt Connection
Islam places a significant emphasis on compassion and charity, encouraging believers to extend a helping hand to those in need. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity” (Sahih Al-Bukhari). Acts of kindness and charity not only alleviate the suffering of others but also purify the soul of the giver.
Social Justice: Upholding Justice and Fairness
In the Quran, Allah emphasises justice, declaring, “O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm for Allah, witnesses in justice, and do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from being just” (Quran 5:8). Islam advocates for fairness and equality, rejecting discrimination based on race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status. This commitment to social justice fosters harmony and unity in diverse communities.
O believers! Stand firm for Allah and bear true testimony. Do not let the hatred of a people lead you to injustice. Be just! That is closer to righteousness. And be mindful of Allah. Surely Allah is All-Aware of what you do. [Quran 5:8]
Family Values: The Foundation of a Strong Society
Islam places great importance on family values, considering the family unit as the cornerstone of a healthy society. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “The best of you is the one who is best to his family” (Sunan Ibn Majah). Islam encourages love, respect, and support within the family, fostering an environment where individuals can thrive and contribute positively to society.
Personal Development: Nurturing Mind, Body, and Soul
Islam offers a holistic approach to personal development, emphasising the well-being of the mind, body, and soul. The Quran instructs believers to seek knowledge continuously, and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) highlighted the importance of physical health. This holistic approach promotes balance and harmony in individual lives, creating a foundation for a prosperous society.
Environmental Stewardship: Guardians of the Earth
Islam teaches believers to be stewards of the Earth, reminding them of their responsibility to protect and preserve the environment. This environmental consciousness encourages sustainable practices and a sense of responsibility towards the planet.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “The world is sweet and verdant, and verily Allah is going to install you as vicegerent in it to see how you act” (Sahih Muslim)
As Muslims, embracing these teachings enhances our lives, and as a universal message, it invites people of all backgrounds to appreciate the beauty inherent in Islam. By embodying these principles, we contribute to a world where family, justice, and community prevail.
