oh sure, it looks great now! but trying to figure out where to put everyone here so the action was clear and made sense? apparently impossible until 3 days ago :"D

obviously that's not enough time to get much of an update done, so i'm going to take another week to work on it--look for it on the 17th!

Undertale/Deltarune FanComics

I put out a post for some UTDR comic recs, and I've decided to compile them all here, both so that I can easily access them as I make my way through, and also so that anyone else who is interested in it can also check it out :D I've provided brief descriptions next the ones I could uh quickly find descriptions for or knew personally, so if you notice one you know that's lacking a descriptions, tell me and I'll add it.

Also if you think this list would benefit from further categorization in some way, let me know! Right now it's a bit of a mess and overwhelming lol.

I'll also be updating this with new (or old lol) comics if anyone has more suggestions!

Edit: I’m making a collection blog, @utdrlibrary, that way one can go through the posts for which comic sounds interesting, instead of scrolling through a messy list lol. I’m still working getting the comics from this post up on the blog

Whispers in the Dark by Kei (Mature, Complete)

Subjects WD.G – E2 – 001 – S and WD.G – E2 – 002 – P were created to be the perfect hunters, capable of taking the soul of any human that dared enter the underground. Hi! I'm sure you've posted something like this already but do you have any recommendations for comics/fics that are Papyrus-centric? Trying to find stuff that's more about him that isn't out of character is really hard. He's my favorite character and I'm so tired of Fanon -.-

Well I gotta recommend my all time favorite UT fic. It's not strictly canon Papyrus, and okay, this is going to sound fucking silly, but it's a Fedora Papyrus Angst Fic. Yeah. I am being for real. It's so good. I have sent it to multiple people who were like "That's so dumb I hate this character" who come out of it Changed. A few people have cried.

As for comics, I have an a few AU recs that both are very true to Papyrus' character, the first being @invertedfate and the other being @undertalethingems Unexpected Guests comic, Papyrus being a major secondary character (Frisk obviously being the main character) of Inverted Fate, and while UG isn't Papyrus-centric it features a lot of him and he is treated very well and written incredibly good.

I gotta be real with you I mainly read reader inserts (I am madly in love with this goofy ass skeleton) so I don't actually have much else to recommend. Though if you want to know other good people to ask I'd say ask Sam (Thingem) since they love canon UT Papyrus and aren't a reader-insert reader, they have very good standards for him.

I'd recommend my own Ambassador Papyrus fic but I haven't updated it in forever (pensive emoji). I want to but I've been distracted by other things.

Okay, update.

I'm currently working on the story boarding for the first D&D story, wich is just me writing it like a chapter book in Google docs, I'm not sure if I should make it into a comic or post it on Ao3 kinda like Calcium-cat with their One Small Dream Series.

I'm probably going to do both kinda like how undertalethingems does their Unexpected Guests series but Idk, it depends on how confident I'm feeling about my story boarding so far.

You mentionned you read Undertale comics. Which are your favorite ones ?

Oh... Oh boy *sweats a little*. Are you asking me to choose ? Oh boy, that’s going to be a bit complicated you know, I’m following so much people ;w; Let’s do that, I hope it won’t be too long eheheh.

Handplates, @zarla-s : It’s a version of Sans and Papyrus’ backstory, and it’s very painful, not only for the character, but also (and mostly) for your own feelings. You die a little more with each new update.

Deeper Down, @zeragii : It’s mostly on DeviantArt. So it’s basically a tutoriel to torture your Sans. It’s supposed to be a post-pacifist comic, but well, when you’re going straight to hell, who even cares about being pacifist anymore ? Also, the thing that’s following the characters is absolutely terrifying.

Unexpected guests, @undertalethingems : A sweet little adventure where Sans and Papyrus’ blasters are dragons. It’s so soft and happy and cute... Or not. It’s also “Torture your Sans” simulator, but in a more psychologic way. It’s traumatising. Mommy I’m scared.

Over the Void, @undertale-over-the-void : One complicated story between two parallel universes. Drawing is really cute ! The story... less. (oh god, I’m starting to see a pattern in the stories I like the most xD). Frisk, Asriel and MK got lost in an other world and now they need to come home (alive, if possible), and it’s kinda not that simple.

Timetale, @allesiathehedge : ... Welp, that’s not a cute one either xD The drawing is very very good but OH GOD THAT’S HURT. I absolutely loves Sans in this comic, it’s very different of how he’s mostly representing and Alphys had quite a big role too, which is very rare. But it’s also very painful for your feelings. I stopped counting the time I cried T-T

Bitty Problems and How to greet a new pal and many other comics (and fanfictions), @theskeletongames : It’s a bit more cute than all the one above... Most of the time. Lots of great stories about the main AU’s and/or their bitties. Go read The Skeleton Games too if you are more into the “Torture your (Underfell) Sans”.

Horrortale, @horrortalecomic : I love everything about this comic, the characters, the plot, the drawing style. I can’t stop reading all the pages out again and again. If you didn’t read it yet, go read it. Now. I’m 100% team Papyrus by the way. Let him have his damn 5th puzzle.

Seventh soul, EightTheKat : Only available on DeviantArt. It’s one of the very few Frans comics I like because they are very well developped. Frisk fell Underground as a baby and Toriel raised her until she met a certain someone behind the door who tell her there’s actually something outside of the Ruins. The are style is really cool, and Sans’ backstory too ! 

I probably forgot some, but that’s just an excuse to do a second post later about this eheheheh. But with these ones, you have a good few months of reading I think xD

I got this random idea of flustering one of @undertalethingems bone dragons or glaster blaster dragons (or whatever you call 'em) so I sketched it...rather poorly to be honest. I planned to draw it digitally but uh, I've got a lot to do so I just drew a simple drawing, here!

It's a bit out of character for Sans's blaster to accept a touch so willingly and I'm pretty sure putting a collar on it isn't going to help :| I'm sorry Sans's blaster. Also this was the second time I drew a gaster blaster and the first time I drew a dragon! So yeah, it looks kinda funny :/.

I can't say too much has changed since my last post on the subject... but I do have some good news! I was able to finish a section of comic yesterday, and I have a pretty good idea of how the next bit should look. Hopefully that means it won't take as long to do.

That said, I'm considering holding off on posting an update until the new year. That way I can potentially build up a buffer and avoid another long hiatus.

sorry for making everyone worry; i did mean to upload new pages this last thursday (the 18th, the date on the eclipse post was a mistake :"D), but, well, obviously that didn't happen

i'm not 100% sure what's going on but i think a new medication i'm trying is making me feel much more tired than usual, and it's difficult to feel motivated, which i already struggle with and was something the medication was supposed to help. ironically.

I don't think it's burnout on the comic specifically, because I haven't felt like doing any sort of art, which as you can imagine is pretty frustrating for someone whose main hobbies are all art.

i think it'll ultimately be ok, but I think I'll have to take what i guess is an official hiatus from posting comic updates for now. I plan to still work on it and hopefully build up a bit of a buffer in the meantime. With any luck I'll get things sorted out, and be able to get back on top of updates like normal.

Thanks for all your patience so far, and I really appreciate the folks who sent messages to check in. How about we meet back up May 16th? :>

hi all. sorry for the lack of updates; tbh, this month has been pretty generally bad in terms of getting any art done. not just the comic--even my other projects have been difficult to focus on. but, it means a lot to me that some total strangers care about how i'm doing.

so, i'm hanging in there, and i'm grateful for everyone's patience. i think it's a safe bet a lot of us are Going Though It these days, and have been for a while, for all kinds of reasons. I know my comic brings a lot of you joy, and that's why I want to keep making it. I hope to get back to it soon.
