Papyrus and Sans moved to Snowdin

So, for anyone who didn't know, Papyrus and Sans did not grow up in Snowdin. They moved there and its never been explained where they lived before that.

According to the bunny shopkeeper, they just showed up one day! (Similar to how Sans just shows up one day with his brother in Deltarune)

Which is why this Q&A is so neat!!!

Where did Papyrus and Sans live BEFORE Snowdin??? Somewhere with green grass, apparently. God I need more answers.

saw a post about under sales and I have no idea what it js, care to give a short explanation? (dont have to if you don't want to)

Yessss so I explain the basis of Undersales here but I guess I can be a little bit more specific about it now.

Basically, monsters in this au really love gold and super shiny stuff, so money has a very important role in their society. Therefore, everyone has stuff to sell and everyone wants something from you (in most cases your money). To summarize, the Underground has become kinda like a big marketplace.

Money defines your worth in this au. Poor monsters get ignored and get refused for help, while the richest get popular and lots of privileges.

Frisk fell down the underground and they have to get out safe and sound. They have the choice to befriend monsters and get past them, or steal and manipulate to easily get to the castle. (Yes, you can kill monsters to get their money)

One last thing, because I feel like this is important, the way you spend your money does have an effect of the ending you will get. If you spend a lot of money for one character, the ending will be different. Will it give them a happy ending? Depends on the character. I really look forward to reveal and explain those endings!

Uh… I just realized you asked for a “short explanation”. Well I hope this wasn’t too long lol

How does sans know what a stopsign is in an underground of pure walkspace

Well, I can think of two possibilities:

1: stop signs are referenced in the assorted human media that's fallen into the underground, and monsters know of them because of that. It'd be funny if a whole stop sign had fallen into the dump, or if New Home has them even if they don't have cars, just to make things feel a little more like the surface. Regardless, I don't think it's outside of the realm of possibility for monsters, and particularly sans, to know about stop signs. After all, he reads car magazines.

2: UT sans is DR sans, who has obviously seen stop signs before.

So either way I don't think it's too weird :>

If it is technically gaster, then why isn't the "normal" font not also in capitals? In the game the wingdings is in all capitals, and if the person we talk to in deltarune is also gaster, then he also speaks in all caps in "normal" font. Just curious if this was a stylistic choice, but if it does have some lore later one, don't feel the need the spoil it lol.

Yes, Gaster does speak on all caps! But that's gonna come later! :D it's a lore thing

Rn both Wingdings and Sans speak in proper capitalization but, as we know, that's gonna change at some point!😁😁

Gaster will speak in all caps and Sans will start to speak in lower case !! Also Gaster will stop having that asterisk when talking:]
