Admission Scam: 891 students admitted without NEET in Ayush colleges in UP suspended

By Abhishek Mishra: The state government suspended 891 students from Uttar Pradesh Ayush colleges for taking admission without scoring the necessary cut-off marks in NEET. The suspension notices for these students have been put up outside the colleges.

CM Yogi Adityanath ordered that FIR and strict action should not be taken against the suspended students. Earlier on Monday, the Yogi government had sent the matter to the CBI. Departmental action instructions have also been issued.

Ayush Minister Daya Shankar Mishra in the UP government said, “All those children whose admission was faulty, have been suspended. In this case, the acting director, Professor Dr. SN Singh, and Umakant Yadav, the officer in charge of the Directorate of Education have also been suspended.”

ACTION AGAINST OFFICIALS

Apart from this, departmental action has also been directed against Dr. Mohammad Waseem, the officer-in-charge of the Directorate of Unani, and Vijay Pushkar, the acting joint director of the Directorate of Homeopathy.

A case had been registered by the Department of Ayush in Hazratganj Kotwali of the capital Lucknow two days ago.

Madhya Pradesh Police find 18, including 14 migrant labourers, travelling to Lucknow inside cement mixer; FIR registered

Indore: Indore Police on Saturday found 18 people, most of them migrant workers, crammed inside a cement mixer-laden truck headed towards Uttar Pradesh from Maharashtra, an official said. All of them were sent to a shelter for medical examination and a bus was being organised for their further transit, he said.

A video of workers emerging from the small hole of the cement-mixer in the presence of police has gone viral on social media.

"During the routine check-up at Panth Piplai village, about 35 kms from Indore, we stopped a truck laden with a cement-mixer on suspicion. After opening the lid, we found 18 people inside," Traffic Police sub inspector Amit Kumar Yadav told PTI.

He said the 18 people included fourteen migrant labourers and four employees of the truck owner. He said the labourers had been trying to reach their native state Uttar Pradesh from Maharashtra, as they found no work due to the coronavirus lockdown.

Yadav said the workers had boarded the truck on Friday. "They all were sent to a shelter for medical examination. A bus is also being arranged to send them to Uttar Pradesh," he said.

An FIR has been registered against the truck driver under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Yadav added.

The Centre government recently allowed movement of stranded labourers, tourists and students from one state to another on permission of local authorities.

The Maharashtra government on Friday and Saturday ran two special trains carrying migrant workers to Bhopal and Lucknow.

Organization of a two day workshop on Freedom Struggle

A two day workshop was organized by the Department of Indian Culture and Tourism of the Dev Sanskriti University on “Freedom Struggle and related sites”. A letter was received from the Ministry of Human Resource Development to organize this workshop. The complete outline of the first day’s program was presented by Dr. Gyanendra Pandey, the Head of the Centre for Indian Culture. He also threw light on the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters. Informing about the second day’s program, Dr. Arunesh Parashar described about the quiz program and other main lectures to be delivered. Dr. Parashar also highlighted the places of freedom struggle and their importance. At the conclusion of the program, Dr. Chinmay Pandya, the Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University, said that many aspects of the revolution of freedom struggle from 1857 to 1942 have been remained untouched. There is still a lot of research to be done on this at large scale. If we go by record, we discover many such evidences which show us that there were many women who took part in the freedom struggle along with men. To see, know and understand such freedom spots, should be a matter of pride for us. About 100 students participated in the quiz competition during the workshop, amongst them 16 were selected for the final round. Also about 20 students participated in the lecture and presentation program. Amongst the various creative programs organized during the workshop, Patel team secured the first position in the quiz competition while the August team ranked second. Phalguni Pathak, B.A. student, bagged the second position in the extempore contest and Vibha Negi from Centre of Tourism Management secured the second rank. Sandhya Singh from MBA held the first prize in the Quotation Contest. At the end of the program, Dr. Umakant Indoliya, thanked all of those who were present on the occasion viz.
