Helium Leak Detection System - How to Detect a Water Leak
Vacuum Degassing Systems is the most common way of identifying condensate air-inlet leaks and condensate tube leaks. With the ability to accurately pinpoint air-inlet leaks it now takes the guesswork out of old methods like using ultrasonic guns and smoke.
A Helium Leak Detection System works by detecting air-inlets which are leaking and allowing the flow of air into the condensate tanks below. The detector acts as a high-frequency sound wave which passes through the air-conduit line in the air-intake manifold. The sensor can pick up on this signal at a frequency that is high enough to indicate a leak.
The high frequency of the signal that the detector emits means that it can pick up on the frequency that many other forms of detection methods will miss. Many types of detection systems use different frequencies to find leaks, but not all detectors can pick up high frequency signals.
If the detector was designed for a leak detection system based around the theory of frequency hopping then the detector would be able to pick up high frequency signals better. A detector which is built for Helium Leak detection does not have a frequency-hopping mechanism. Instead it uses a linear feedback control system. It then uses this linear feedback to determine if there is a leak present by determining the frequency that the leak signal is emitting.
In addition to being able to detect leaks a Helium leak detection system can also identify condensate tank leaks by using infrared light. As the temperature in the leaky area rises the leak becomes more evident and the detector will turn on a light that is able to penetrate the leak to locate it.
An infrared detector is a more advanced version of the Helium leak detection system. It has a large screen that looks like a computer monitor and has four lights placed around the detector's perimeter.
When the detector senses the presence of water inside the leak it will activate the lights. The four lights that are positioned around the perimeter of the detector will illuminate the area where the water is leaking from, with the last light illuminating the area that has the least amount of water leaking.
When the detector detects water inside the leak, it will turn off the light and move towards the light which is emitting the highest level of light. This is because the detector is looking for water leaking from inside. The last light will illuminate the water source and show where it can be located with ease.
The infrared detector is a very accurate tool when it comes to detecting any leaks in your water supply. It has become very popular with the oil and gas industry because it is a cost effective method of detecting water leaks. This is because it is very sensitive to the source of the leak and it is extremely hard to detect the leak by an inspection method such as the metal detector. It works by seeing what it is detecting and acting upon it immediately.
A sensor detector is extremely reliable and effective at the leak detection of water leaks. Most leak detection systems are capable of detecting water leaks of up to three feet beneath the ground and most systems that detect water leaks will detect a three feet drop in the water supply.
If you are not familiar with a detector it is similar to the metal detector. The only difference is that the detector will detect the source of the water leak rather than just detecting the water. The detector will be able to tell whether or not a water leak has occurred by looking at the light. The same is true of the infrared detector.
As long as a person familiarizes themselves with the detector they will be able to get the most out of the detector. Even though you may not understand how the detector works, you should be able to get the maximum benefit from your system.
