Zoffy: Alright, time for plan 2.
Mebius: Don't you mean plan B?
Zoffy: No, B implies that we have 26 backup plans. *points at the bickering ultra brothers.* You really think their shared brain cell has the capacity for that?

Ultraman Rising's rise scene inspirations
Upon closer inspection, you can tell that Ultraman's (in Rising) rise scene background references all of the Ultra Brothers' own
Recall that Seven dosent have a rise scene and Zoffy only transformed once back in Mebius so him being excluded is understandable
(Tho one can argue that the blue backdrop on the 3rd pic for Taro could be Seven)

Hiiiii, I’m curious about your Ultraman collection. Care to give me an info dump about all your cool stuff?
I'd love to! Here's a very brief overview of the collection thus far.
This is the henshin/transformation device shelf. Starting from the top left and working across, there's the Dark Z Riser (from Ultraman Z), Saki's Gyro (Ultraman R/B), D-Flasher (Ultraman Decker), the Sparklence (Ultraman Tiga), and the Reiflasher (Ultraman Dyna). Those last two are tv-prop quality.
The next shelf down is entirely Ultraman Trigger stuff, including the Ancient, Dark, and GUTS Spark Lenses, and a bunch of Hyper Keys.
Below that is the Orb Ring and the Orb Calibur (From Ultraman Orb), and then the Geed Rizer, Ultra Capsules, King Sword, and the Neo Zero Eye (from Ultraman Geed).
This is the old Ultra Monster Series shelf for figures 2012 and back. I have some vintage figures from the 70s mixed in there, all with the tags.
This is the new Ultra Monster Series shelf, holding all of the smaller, less detailed figures from the new UMS line starting in 2013.
Here is a big shot of the SH Figuarts shelves + the new and old Ultra Hero Series lines. The very top has New Gen DX-scale figures. The lower shelves have all the new Blazar stuff as well as some rarer boxed UHS figures.
This one is kinda messy, I have to work on reorganizing them soon!
Left to right: Techtor Gear Zero, Ultrawoman Grigio, Ultraman Orb Thunder Breaster, Ultraman Geed (Royal Mega Master. Galaxy Rising, and Magnificent), Ultraman Regulos, Ultraman Ribut, Zetton, Gomora, Twin Tail, Ultraman Dyna and Ultraman Decker (With Baltan hiding behind them).
The Ultraman Z Shelf!!!
Left to right, back then front: Sevenger, Windom, King Joe Storage Custom, then Ultraman Z Delta Rize Claw, Z Alpha Edge, Z Gamma Future, and Z Beta Smash.
Darkness Heels, a team of villains and anti-heroes.
Jugglas Juggler, Camearra, Evil Trigger, Belial Atrocious, and Absolute Tartarus in the back.
New Gen base form lineup!
Left to right:
Ginga, Victory, X, Orb, Geed, Zero, Taiga, Fuma, Z, and Trigger. (Missing Rosso, Blu, and Titas ;_; )
The Ultra Brothers shelf ✨️
Ultraman, Zoffy, Seven, Jack, Taro, and then Astra, Leo, and Mebius in the back. (WHY DID I MISS ACE'S RELEASE GODDAMNIT)
Bonus Hanejiro!!
That's just a lil slice of it all. Thanks for asking! 💛

In Ultraman Mebius & The Ultra Brothers (2006) it's revealed that the 4 ultra brothers lived on earth disguised as humans between 1986-2006 which means that they have knowledge about 9/11

there are 2 types of fusion in the ultraman series. one is the type you think of when you hear the word 'fusion' where the ultramen literally combine into one making a whole new ultra. examples being ultraman legend (cosmos+justice) ultraman saga (zero+dyna+cosmos) and ultraman gingavictory (ginga+victory). theres no one way to do it, sometimes theres a separate collectible or item made from multiple powers, and sometimes its an upgrade, and in gingavictorys case he has a fusion brace but the way to fuse is actually touching the ginga spark and victory lancer together in an ultra touch. weirdo
the second type is one ultraman recieving the power and strength of multiple other ultramen(and humans in some cases). these make fusion forms instead of fusion ultras. examples are super ultraman taro (taro+ultra brothers) ultraman mebius phoenix brave (mebius+hikari,GUYS) and ultraman taiga tri-strium (taiga+titas, fuma, hiroyuki). i wonder if normal forms made with the powers of other ultras could technically count? i guess thats just to keep the title of super ultra special cuz new gen ultras use other powers to make forms all the time but you only get Super Fusion Ultra title if tsuburaya productions thinks you deserve it
there seems to be no limit to how many ultras can fuse as reiga is a fusion between ELEVEN ULTRAMEN. its also not really explained how this works so whoo give a shit lets make a fusion out of every ultraman that has ever existed

The Things I Like About Ultraman 80
Still on the occasion of Ultraman 80's 44th anniversary, here are the things I like about the series.
1. 80s fighting style - quick, agile, and acrobatic.
2. 80 was never defeated in his own series. There were a couple of times he almost lost, most notably in the penultimate episode where he fought the two brother kaijus Plazma and Minazma.
His "defeat" by mother-and-child Zandrias doesn't count. He pretended to lose so that the son would be convinced to go home with his mother. So to those who think that 80 is a weak Ultraman should think otherwise (I defended 80 on TikTok against some comments who said he is the weakest Ultraman 😭)
3. As 80 was undefeated or didn't die, he was never crucified, impaled, or turned into a metal or stone.
Unlike other Ultras, 80 needed help only once, and it's from the Father of Ultra.
4. The coolest and most realistic-looking fighter jets for me - the Sky Higher, the Silver Gull, and the Space Mammy - they don't look like toys. Even the base, the hangar, the runway, with the control towers and all that, they also look realistic, even 44 years after. It's even better than the CG effects today. It makes you think that UGM was a real organization!
5. The coolest Ultraman henshin for me - Yamato throwing his fists before raising his Bright Stick and shouting, "80!".
6. The coolest opening and end themes (at least the first ones).
7. My most favorite "wandaba", even though it is pretty similar to TAC wandaba.
8. The school setting in the first few episodes, and the Ultraman being a teacher. That setting was discontinued, unfortunately, due to several reasons. The series should have stuck to its guns. Even so, there were still the presence of kids throughout the series.
Unlike other Ultraman human hosts who are usually cool, suave, etc. that befits the hero type, Takeshi Yamato is often clumsy and absent-minded. And oh, he often runs late for class 😂 But that makes him very charming and relatable.
9. First female Ultra other than the Mother of Ultra: Yullian.
10. UGM finally managed to defeat a kaiju on their own without 80's involvement.
11. The most handsome captain (other than Captain Dan Moroboshi), Captain Ooyama. 😍
12. I realized that Ultraman 80 series has the most beautiful women, whether they were cast regulars/semi-regulars or guest actresses.
13. 80 fought Ultraseven... Delusion Ultraseven that is 😂
14. The most beautiful soundtrack of all the Ultraman soundtracks I've listened to. Even though composer Toru Fuyuki did great music for the previous Ultraman series, he outdid himself this time in Ultraman 80.
15. The series has many of the coolest- and most badass-looking kaijus from the Showa era - Crescent, Argon, Noiseler, Guwaganda, Fire-Draco, Plazma and Minazma, Margodon, etc. Those Minus Energy monsters. Only Hoe and Jihibikiran look funny to me, tho. Hoe reappeared in Ultraman Mebius.
16. Probably influenced by women's lib at the time, 80 is the first Ultraman series to empower girls and women, making it the most progressive compared to the other Showa-era Ultraman series.
If you think I missed something or if there are errors, let me know! ☺️

Before he leaves for Earth, Mebius goes to each of the six Ultra Brothers to ask if they have any advice for him. Of course, he's been given every possible briefing, every informational course, but education isn't the same as wisdom, and the Brothers more than anyone else have that.
He goes to Zoffy first, because Zoffy's very busy and probably won't have much time to talk, and Zoffy looks at him for a long moment and then says, "Accept help when it's offered. Don't assume that you're ready to do everything entirely by yourself."
Ultraman says nothing. Ultraman almost never says anything. He just reaches out and presses his hand to the center of Mebius' chest and nods encouragingly. Mebius doesn't entirely get it, but he does feel encouraged.
Seven makes a face for a moment, stares off into the sky, and then says, "Make sure to get plenty of sleep and drink a lot of water. Try any food you're offered. If you see Anne, tell her I say hello."
Jack makes a different kind of face than the one Seven made. "Keep an eye out for cars around any humans you know. And make sure to watch the sun rise at least once."
Ace grins. "Relax! Try to make some friends. Talk to lots of children. Learn to dance."
Taro is last, because he knows Taro best and finds him sort of less intimidating than the others, and Taro looks at him very closely for a moment and then says, "You're going to have a moment, probably very early on, where you're holding a human in the palm of your hand and you'll be able to feel them breathing and it's going to strike you how small they are, and how fragile. And you'll probably panic and think, why am I the one doing this? What makes me qualified to help these people?"
Mebius nods seriously and tries to turn that thought around in his head. "All right. What do I do then?"
"You save them. Like you were already going to do."
"But what does make me qualified? I mean, I've had all this training–"
"The training's not that important." Taro shrugs. "Training's just training. The only thing that actually makes you qualified to do it is that you're the one there to do it. Everything else comes after that." He claps Mebius on the shoulder. "Just keep that in mind and you'll be fine."

Mebius: It is like your name....Sykes. I'm sure it doesn't bother you at all that it sounds like "ss'ai k'ss," two words in my language which mean "excrement" and "cranium."
[Dr. Sykes looks at Mebius quizzically before Taro answers for him]
Taro: Shithead.
{Later when R/n's research crew is induced to the Ultra brothers.]
Mebius: And this is Dr. Sykes.
Seven, bursts out laughing: Whahaha....Shithead!
[Dr. Sykes name fits him especially once Zoffy finds out who is responsible for putting R/n into her cyborg body against her will. Long story short Sykes was R/n's mentor back when she was human. He developed feelings for her which she didn't reciprocate because she already had someone else she was interested in. (Zoffy, he briefly got turned in a Spark doll and lived with her for a while.) Sykes didn't take the rejection well. He stalked R/n then waited until she was alone and.... Well, the rest is history.]

i finished ultraman mebius today!! the main show, anyways. i still have one more side quest consisting of two episodes (apparently it was the thing released right before the mega monster battle saga started ...? the first of which i have still not seen. sorry rei), but then im done for real. i absolutely think it is objectively the best ultraman show ive ever seen. incredible characters and a gripping plot, not to mention a beautiful way to tie the chaos of the showa era into a nice complete bow. it was beautiful i just loved it...... my friend mebius. i loved all of the ultra brothers appearances sometimes it really felt like i was back in the world of ace and taro truly just a great show. i dont think its the best one to start off with just because by virtue of being an anniversary show it has a lot of callbacks to the showa era ultra shows that newcomers will miss. but if you watch the main episodes of those and then watch mebius you will get the full experience
#null havoc damage#nyarla watches ultraman mostly in order#so much easier to watch than any other show so far because IT HAS ACTUAL THROUGHLINE PLOTTTTTTT#cannot describe how refreshing that was after the episodic nature of everything else thank u mebius

What do you think about Tsburaya and Bandai literally not giving any Fuck about Ultraman's 55th and Jack's 50th during Trigger's run only in favor to celebrate tiga with a awful show?
They could easily used Ultraman to help Trigger against Banila and Aboras instead of created a fucking trigger Dark out of nowhere
As well they could easily used Jack instead of Ribut who didn't make any sense there with those absolutians
Plus Jiro Dan was still alive and well back at that time and they could at least give him his last appearence in the franchise considering what would eventually happen to him......
Like The Original Ultraman was the begin of everything and without him I don't think it would not even had other franchise such as Rider and Sentai
Jack's sucess helped Tsburaya to creat many other Ultras after him and without him the Ultra series could had died with Eiji
I don't really liked how they were ignored during 2021 only to celebrate tiga and they failed anyway
They did run commemorative stageshows tho
But they went with pushing the TDG's 25th Anniversary as the overarching commemoration agenda, and you can't say they failed either as Trigger and Decker were the most profitable series of all time (see the financial reports for 2021 and 2022 fiscal years I posted)
Trigger Dark's appearance in the Banila episode was crucial as it set up a turning point for Ignis' character development
While Ribut was basically the mascot for UGF3 at the time as well, not to mention it was also part of their "canonization" of Ribut
It was incredibly unfortunate with what happened to Jiro Dan's actor but TsuPro has been trying to move on from the Ultra Brothers ever since Mebius, which is why the powerscaling have been toned down massively and the appearance of the Ultra Brothers have been reduced to one-off cameos in the main series (even the Heisei Ultras are getting the same treatment, even Zero as well from Trigger onwards), only really given time to shine in UGF installments nowadays (which is one of the reasons why I love UGF)
Not to mention i suspect TsuPro has also started to take an even more drastic turn with creating a brand new "multiverse" starting with Blazar. As Blazar and Arc are no longer successors (spiritual or otherwise) of previous seasons
And I suspect this is gonna be TsuPro's modus operandi going forward, especially with regards to the anniversaries of the Showa Ultras especially
Unless they hit the u turn with the 2025 series which may be likely due to how bad Blazar and Arc did financially.
Tbh, I'm fine with all of this because it's evident that TsuPro wants to rebrand themselves, which is understandable given that it's nearly a 60 year old franchise, such rebrandings are bound to occur. Imo, I prefer it if they at least keep crossover episodes a thing so we can link up back every single ultra somehow. Plus of course the continuation of the UGF series to bring everyone back together
Thanks for the question!
