*Ultra turns around to peak!* Ultra: *whisper yelling* fling some dirt at her house! I bet it'll tarnish the paint! *he giggles! the flowers are CRUSHED! if not DEAD out right! FATALLY injured! and the digging has WRECKED the sprinkler system! which its pipes are exposed! hmm... pipes full of water'n tons of loose soil around! Linda DOSE like to "sling mud around!" as the saying goes-! there's also several tacky garden gnomes about! and other small very chew-able lawn decorations! including one painted Ultraviolet with its eyes crossed out! gee wonder who THATS supposed to be for? Ultra meanwhile's talking with some squirrels! using his ring's translator! and pulls out a bag of trail mix! and gestures to the nearby- neighbor's homes!*
Enchantberus almost chuckles before digging more at the pipes, flinging dirt on the house before chewing on the pipes to start enough of a leak for water to mix with the dirt on the house. She then haves at the gnomes and tacky decoration. Tails are wagging really fast!

several reasons why the your hair isn't growing
mixing of brands product: unfortunately like our food, hair product is ultra processed and have added chemicals in them that act our body including ur hair. in hemsytry you learn not every mixture is healthy and okay to do some are dangerous and even negate other chemicals in the process. so natural minerals used to heath strengthen hair if mixed with some man made laboratory chemical, could reverse or even harm you or not do any thing helpful at all. Make sure u read your products directions to se if it says " for best results use with other brand products". now this COULD be false...because brand shave been known to LIE before, like our Food industry.
Biology: a factor all can't run from or change. men have the same issue, premature balding, grey hairs ect . its in our DNA and nothing to feel ashamed or bad about. it happens.
eating habits: i've SEEN this first hand. a girl I used to work with, she was vegan and her face glowed and hair was long and skin clear all from her changing what she ate. every garden or home needs a good foundation. and you can't expect good healthy anything to grow with terrible soil, so you NEED to make sure you eat well and consistently. I mean hair is dead follicles attached to your scalp but you skin is the REAL key to healthy hair. you hair is dead, so don't worry about those. yes are there people who eat bad with Lucious long hair, yes, like I said exceptions not make the rule. and chemicals are pretty schizophrenic in what they want to effect and not affect. I mean my cousin died of stage 4 cancer within WEEKS with all of her hair, but her kidney was still failing.

Revolutionizing Absorption: The Power of Super Absorbent Polymers in Modern Applications
Super Absorbent Polymers: The Role of Absorbent Polymers in Advanced Diapers, Sanitary Pads, and Wound Dressings Introduction to SAP Super absorbent polymers (SAPs) are advanced materials that can absorb and retain extremely large amounts of a liquid relative to their own mass. When dry, SAPs feel like normal plastic or powder but once they absorb liquid, they become a soft gel. This absorption occurs via osmotic pressure which draws the liquid into the SAP where it is trapped in the polymer matrix. Chemistry and Structure of SAPs The vast majority of commercial SAPs are either polyacrylate or polyacrylamide based. These polymers contain repeating units of acrylic acid or acrylamide monomers that provide carboxylate or amide functional groups. These functional groups are responsible for the swelling and absorption capabilities of SAPs. The backbone polymers chains allow for branching and crosslinking that maintains the absorbent three-dimensional network structure even when fully swollen with liquid. Without this crosslinking, the polymer would dissolve rather than form a gel upon swelling. Applications in Hygiene Products One of the largest applications of SAPs is in baby diapers, adult incontinence products, and feminine hygiene items. SAP particles are blended into these products to rapidly absorb urine and other body fluids away from the skin. This helps keep the wearer dry and comfortable. A single gram of SAP can absorb up to 100 mL of liquid. Modern ultra-thin diapers contain 20-30% SAP by weight which allows them to absorb multiple insults of liquid with a dry feel. Over 90% of disposable diapers worldwide contain SAP. Use in Agriculture and Horticulture SAPs are valuable for water retention in soil used for agriculture and gardening. When SAP particles are mixed into soil or soilless potting mixes, they absorb water from irrigation and release it slowly over time as the plants need it. This reduces the need for frequent watering. SAPs are also used for long-term water storage in seed coats to promote germination even in dry conditions. Some greenhouse growers add SAPs to hydroponic systems and floating raft technologies to maximize water and nutrient availability to plant roots. Medical and Biomedical Applications Due to their absorbency and biocompatibility, SAPs have promising applications in medicine. They can be used as carrier materials for controlled drug delivery, either absorbing drugs and releasing them gradually or swelling in response to stimuli like pH to trigger drug release. SAP hydrogels are also being developed as wound dressings to absorb drainage and keep wounds moist for healing. In biomedical areas, SAPs show potential for cell culture scaffolds, implants, and even artificial tissues due to their swelling abilities. Other Uses of SAP Technology Beyond hygiene and agriculture, SAPs have diverse industrial and commercial applications as well. To generate and store moisture, they can be used in products like detergents, clothes, shoes, and building materials. SAPs are integral to industrial processes like water treatment and purifications where they help absorb contaminants and concentrate desired components. Due to their swelling behavior, some super absorbent polymers formulations are being developed for emerging uses like actuator devices, artificial muscles, and sensors. Their absorbency also makes them valuable for spill/leak control and cleanup in oilfields, marine, and industrial settings. SAPs continue expanding into new applications as their unique material properties are applied in new technologies.

Air Quality and Urban Gardening
Transforming my ultra-tiny backyard into a garden has been a kind of mental, physical, and spiritual therapy for me during this COVID-19 pandemic. It’s work, even at this scale. But is it healthy? I’m new to Pittsburgh, and unlike my past community gardening experiences at places with better air quality and soil ratings, I now wonder if it’s safe to eat the plants I grow. When I look at the soil, I wonder what more than 150 years of air pollution has done to it. How can I amend past damage, manage the current risks and then eat from it?
I’m not alone in this work. Before I dive in, I want to share a quote by Robin Wall Kimmerer, author of Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants:
“Even a wounded world is feeding us. Even a wounded world holds us, giving us moments of wonder and joy. I choose joy over despair. Not because I have my head in the sand, but because joy is what the earth gives me daily and I must return the gift.”
Professional advice guided my urban garden work. If you are contemplating a similar project, information at the sites listed below will be valuable.
Resources: amending the soil, soil testing, garden planning, and a cool foraging app

EurekAlert!: Risk of Lead Poisoning from Urban Gardening is Low, New Study Finds
Oxford Academic: Phytoremediation of Lead: What Works, What Doesn’t
First Step: Soil Test
The work I did to make my soil safe for gardening began with a soil test. A City of Pittsburgh site directed me to a Penn State University Agriculture Extension Office, where for a $9.00 fee, postage to mail a soil sample, and a couple of weeks’ time for testing, I learned that my typical Pittsburgh soil is full of clay and in need of compost and lime.
My front yard faces a busy intersection and contains lead and other contaminants. I decided to try phytostabilization, which is a cheap way to use plants, lime, and compost to both reduce the mobility of heavy metals in the soil and lower the bioavailability of contaminants to the food chain. I wore a mask and gloves when I tilled this soil because contaminants can bind to soil particles and can be inhaled. I mixed some nearby oak leaves into the soil to break up the clay, mixed in some lime, and planted sunflowers. (Any additions of lime should be done according to package directions about how much to use and when to plant.)
Soil conditions in my backyard were better, requiring only lime to adjust the pH and lots and lots of compost. The backyard is where I will grow vegetables. I learned during my research that pH and compost are the key elements to healthy soil. If the air quality fluctuates during the gardening season, I will be fine as long as I wash the produce thoroughly before consuming and wash my hands after gardening. Now, after long days of online meetings, I’m able to retreat to my garden and, in good way, work myself tired. I feel better now. I feel happy.
I confess, I’m a renter, and I’m doing this work (with my landlord’s approval of course) even though I don’t own the property. My homeowner neighbors ask me why I care and put in so much energy and money into something I don’t own. I think it’s an easy answer: I live here for now, and I do this work to improve my quality of life, and because “joy is what the earth gives me daily and I must return the gift.”

Spring Garden Checklist and Tips
Keep your garden from becoming a messy, overgrown, or overtaken by pests. By knowing what to do in the garden this spring, you can have a beautiful, thriving source of pride throughout the year.
gardeninginfo-online.com assembled the following information and checklist to help you get your garden ready for the growing season.
Spring Gardening Tools
Now is the time to get your tools out of the shed and make sure they are in excellent working conditions. Those tools should include:
Spade – a spade is a hand tool used to dig, loosen, or break up lumps in the soil. Make sure the digging end is sharp, and the handle is sturdy with no breaks or splinters.
Fork – Also known as a spading fork, digging fork, or graip. This is a gardening tool with a handle and several short, sturdy tines (like a claw). Used for loosening, lifting, and turning over soil in gardening, it is one of the essential tools (together with a spade) wielded by the hand in gardening.
Hoe – A hoe is a hand tool used to shape (dig small trenches for planting) or clear soil, remove weeds, and harvest root crops.
Trowel – This is a gardening tool with a pointed, scoop-shaped blade and a handle. It is used for loosening soil, digging small holes, mixing in fertilizer, and transferring plants to new locations or pots.
Pruning Shears – Also called garden shears, hand pruners, or secateurs, are a variation of scissors used on plants. They are strong enough to prune hard branches or stems of trees and shrubs up to 3/4 inch thick.
Hand Weeder – This is a small tool, about the size of a garden trowel. It has a very similar handle in size and shape. Instead of a trowel’s head, the handle is attached to a long, thin metal pole that ends in two forking tines. This tool is used to dig straight into the roots of weeds, making their removal more efficient.
Soaker Hose – These hoses are perforated to permit water to seep through the hose. This provides water to plants slowly, avoiding flooding, water runoff, evaporation, or overspray.
Note: Spring watering should occur early in the morning to prevent wet foliage at night. Wet foliage will attract snails and many fungal diseases.
Tip: Wash and sanitize your tools after each use. This will help you slow down or stop the spreading of pathogens to other areas of your garden or landscape.
Spring Garden Soil
The health of the soil in your garden is one of the most crucial factors to encourage your plants to grow and thrive. Consider the following factors when preparing your garden for the growing season:
Soil Organic Matter (SOM) – The composition of your soil (sand, clay, loam, etc.) means little if there is no organic matter. SOM helps prevent soil compaction, helps the soil retain moisture, and provides an ideal environment for deep root growth. Mixing in compost is an efficient way to build fertile soil, rich in nutrients for your garden.
Soil Organism Community – Part of maintaining healthy soil includes encouraging the existence of bacteria, fungi, protozoa, arthropods, earthworms, and some nematodes. You can accomplish this by adding compost, mulch, and plant cuttings to your garden soil, which provide the organic matter for the organisms to consume.
Cover Crops – Plan to grow cover crops in the offseason. They help prevent erosion, scorching, and as the cover crop dies, it returns nutrients to the soil in preparation for more planting.
Soil Test – In spring, test your soil’s pH level. You can adjust your plant species selection to the pH of the soil or adjust the pH level of the soil to accommodate the plant species you have already selected.
Learn more about the composition and how to create fertile organic gardening soil at gardeninginfo-online.com/how-to-make-organic-soil/
Spring Garden Structures
As winter temperatures and weather succumb to springtime, it is also time to check on your garden structures and fixtures:
Fencing – If your garden is enclosed or protected from wildlife grazing by a fence, take the time to inspect the support structure and fencing material for breaks, tears, and weathering.
Fountains – This is the time to clean out your fountains and give them a test run to verify that the water system is intact with no leaks.
Statues – If you have statues or decoration fixtures, inspect them for breaks, chips, discoloration, and accumulation of mold.
Trellises – Make sure your trellises are firmly anchored to their support system. If there are signs of rot or rust, replace or repair them before the plants start putting weight on them.
Walkways – If you have a walkway or pathway, now is the time to pull any weeds, replace bricks or stones, and refill any gaps from erosion.
Containers – If you have containers in your garden or raised beds, check them for cracks and faded or chipped paint. Fix, repaint, or replace damaged containers to add a little extra color to your garden.

Spring Garden Pests
As the temperatures warm up, garden insects begin their life journey. You can put an early halt to their development, and dissuade any newcomers by using homemade non-toxic pesticides in and around your garden.
The following is a recipe for a non-toxic insecticide that repels pesky insects while leaving your soil organism community to thrive:
This recipe produces 1/2 gallon of insecticide.
You will need:
• Liquid dishwashing soap (Dawn, Ivory, etc. don’t use ultra or special formula varieties) • Vegetable oil (corn, canola, sunflower, etc.) • Warm water (filtered or soft water is preferred, but tap water will do)
Step 1 – Pour 1/2 cup of vegetable oil In a measuring cup, then stir in 3 Tbsp of the dishwashing soap. Mix well without creating suds.
Step 2 – Pour the oil and soap mixture into a 1-gallon jug and fill it halfway with water.
Step 3 – Shake the mixture well and fill your spray bottle. Store the remainder (in the jug) in a cool, dry place.
For additional non-toxic recipes, visit gardeninginfo-online.com/homemade-non-toxic-pesticides-your-garden/
Spring Garden Shrubs and Plants
The following are some popular garden shrub and plant choices to consider for your spring garden:
Garden Glow Dogwood – This is ideal for those with limited garden space. Some varieties of this shrub can be quite compact, making it a smart addition when trying to conserve space in small gardens.
Japanese Skimmias – This species produces incredible looking foliage. In addition, its flowers are highly fragrant. With this species, you will have a great smelling and beautiful garden.
Red Meidiland Rose – If you are looking for a less fragrant shrub, you can plant this one. In fact, it has no fragrance at all, so your allergies probably won’t be triggered by it. It is also a hardy species, being disease resistant and can survive in a variety of soil types.
Shrub Rose – This is a hardy, colorful shrub. This robust species is a perfect addition to any garden where you want a no-fuss but still beautiful flowering shrub.
Dwarf Bush Honeysuckle – Another hardy shrub that can thrive in a variety of climates. It can be planted in cold climates, and can even handle dry and sandy soils as well. Another benefit is that it’s resistant to disease and pests.
Bulbs – Spring is also the time to plant summer bulbs. Planting them now will help your garden give a show of color later in the season.
Spring Gardening
In this article, you discovered essential information and tasks to help you prepare your garden for the coming growing season.
By preparing your garden in early spring, you are giving your plants and flowers a better environment to thrive and beautifully mature.
Ignoring your garden’s needs in the spring will leave you with an embarrassing, overgrown, and messy looking garden, likely infested with insects.

Gardening Ideas in Small Spaces Using Planters
You understand that you have a great deal of ideas on how to put a new spin in your garden and even inside your house and offices. It is a matter of making the most of the area you have and being creative all the time. There are a lot of ways you can make use of every small areas in your location. Here are the great ways you can use out of your little area in the house and at work.
A popular way to garden in small areas is to use pots and containers. Almost all the plants you can raise on the ground you can also grow in a pot or planters. It's true! everything from fresh herbs, flowers to shrubs to small trees flourish in these containers. The great part of it is that you can include texture and color and light to any small spaces. Intense tones of color makes any small lawn appear larger. Try planting intense colors around the boundary of your town houses and apartments and see how great that looks. Additionally, you can create a pocket of colors on victorian planters near your outdoor patio or deck. Victorian planters are ideal containers to use for this idea. Climbers, fruit bearing plants, trees, perenials, bedding and shrubs are the great plants to use on this container.
Window boxes are another great above ground choices and they look gorgeous and sensational especially outside your home deciding on your window sill. You can create a tiny garden as you can add different plants on them. Metal window box planters are ideal to use and are cost effective. Aluminum window boxes like these typically use unique benefits, including the distinct versatility and ultra-lightweight structure. Choices are also flexible that you can customize according to taste, personality, flair and style.
Just always remember that you need to water them every day in the hot summer months. But if you do not have adequate time, using self watering office planters can be a great way to save time and space. Stylish in their appeal, these planters bring that sense of peace and simpleness to interior business design space. Built in reservoirs enhance plant usage and eliminate the need of regular watering. Therefore, it permits more intermittent maintenance as opposed to day-to-day care. Revitalizing organic yards, friendly Ficus trees and much more live plant ranges can thrive in a self- watering workplace planter.
So there you have it! Even if you have a small area or no lawn, it does not suggest that you can't have a garden. You simply have to be innovative.
Indoor planters allow us to not just enjoy the beauty of plants and flowers inside our homes, but they also contribute to the existing décor and with the many different types to choose from, you're sure to find the best accent piece for any type or style of space.
Depending upon the size you are interested in, you can choose from smaller indoor planters that fit neatly on a side table, or those that are big enough to become the whole centerpiece of the space. Whether you have a modestly sized apartment or a roomy home, indoor planters and plant stands both give you the ability to use plant life as a part of your interior decoration. Also, if you're like many people, your home's windows and design aren't always the most conducive to growing plants or flowers inside, but with planters, you can quickly move them around if need be, even taking them outside for some direct sunshine.
What Type of Indoor Planters Should I Buy?
There are plenty of indoor planters to pick from that will look best in your living space regardless of the existing style or design, just due to the amazing number of selections readily available. In fact, there are numerous different types that many individuals have no concept where to begin narrowing down their choices.
According to interior designers who value and even count on indoor planters for producing unique and welcoming rooms for their customers, the first thing to keep in mind is where you plan on
placing the planters. Do you have surfaces that aren't currently being used and easily offered for the new planters, or will you also need some type of plant stand too? The variety of plant stands offered competitors the variety of different types of planters, so you absolutely won't have any difficulty finding one for your needs.
Some of the materials you'll find used to develop indoor planters consist of a variety of woods, wrought iron, metal, wicker, porcelain, ceramic, stone, marble, resin, and acrylic. Terracotta planters are great for the largest of plants, and this particular product is actually best for the inside your home as it does not prosper in the cold. Glazed clay, while not quite as porous as terracotta is also frequently used for indoor planters and can be found in many shapes, colors, and designs.
All plants, naturally, need a constant supply of water, and therefore will need to be in a container with a drain hole. The planters you choose must either be geared up with some type of liner that will safeguard the remainder of the planter, along with the floor, from water damage, or have the sufficient space to place a liner bought individually. There are even indoor planters that are self-watering with integrated tanks, making it easy to keep plants healthy with minimal effort on your part.
You'll also wish to bear in mind what type of plants you will be growing, how large they'll get, and how big the entire root will end up being, making certain there's plenty of space for growth potential. It's also a great concept to use a soil mix that's specifically developed for containers and indoor plants for the best results.

PEST PROBLEMS: March 2019
Watch out for Apple Suckers.
These flattened, pale green insects are up to 2 mm in length, they resemble a winged aphid and occur on trusses of apple blossom in the spring.
If they are not contained they can cause irreparable damage by killing the flowers and of course this will then deter the fruit setting. It will also stunt the growth of the young leaves by deforming them.
The larvae cause the most damage by feeding on the blossom during the flowering period.
To control this varmint you should spray with an insecticide ideal for use on fruit & veg as the buds start to break and green-up - always spray last thing during the day or first thing in the morning - by spraying at this time you will elevate any problems with beneficial insect such as bees & other pollinating insects.
Mildew on Delphiniums.
If last year you had a problem with mildew on Delphiniums then now is the time to try an rectify the problem from occurring this year.
Start spraying with a brand fungicide at bi-weekly intervals.
This should hopefully deter any future problems with this years growth.
Blind Bulbs.
If you have noticed that areas of Daffs and Narcissus are a mass of foliage but hardly any flower; then this is a sign that they have come up blind.
There could be many reasons why this could be happening. It could be due to that the bulbs are getting overcrowded and need lifting and replanting the next season.
A dry season the previous year can also cause blindness.
It could be due to some gardeners have this myth of tying up the foliage after flowering. This should never be done as the foliage contains food needed for the following years blooms.
A more serious problem could be basal rot; this is caused by the base area of the bulb rots due to a soil borne fungus and affected areas need to be lifted and burnt. Then the area needs to be sterilised with a soil sterilant.
Start your spray program on Apples & Pears.
Start your spray program on your apples & pears.
This will hopefully deter the damaging effects of pest and disease.
You need to start spraying from bud burst at bi-weekly intervals. Do not spray when you have the mouse ears and also when the blossom is fully open.
There various combinations of chemicals available to you. Use chemicals you are familiar with and always read the instructions carefully. To mix the chemicals correctly fill your sprayer half full with water then pour your chemicals into this. Only place the amount of chemical needed for the job. Never, I repeat NEVER put more than the manufacturer suggests.
Once the chemicals have been placed into the sprayer fill up with some more water. This will mix the chemical completely with the water and will stop any problems of sediment at the bottom of the container.
Powdered chemicals which need to mixed up should be first made into a watery paste before being placed into the sprayer.
For gardeners who care about the environment look for an insecticide which is made from natural ingredients there are some on the market - visit your local garden centre or hardware store & check out what is available.
Always spray last thing during the day or first thing in the morning - by spraying at this time you will elevate any problems with beneficial insect such as bees & other pollinating insects
Cats.
To some people are cats are furry, friendly and make great pets and to other people they are scourge of the universe.
These meowing dreams or nightmares can become a serious problem especially to the keen gardener. There is nothing worse than weeding bare-handed and suddenly having something soft and squeegee in between your finger-tips.
Trying to deter these furry varmints can be quite a task.
There are several deterrents on the market most are applied either diluted or powdered. Some of these can work well though if you have a sudden burst of rain most of them will need to be re-applied. One of the best out of these is GET OFF – CAT & DOG REPELLENT as it will last up to 3 weeks in dry weather & 1 week in adverse conditions.
Cocoa Shell works well as when it is wet it is soft and slimy, cats usually hate getting their paws in it and it does work to a certain degree. When its dry, the shell binds together forming a sharp pie crust stopping them digging their make shift toilets.
Other methods which have recently appeared on the market in recent years are the ultra sonic cat scarers which send a loud noise which only cats can hear which sends them packing though if the feline is white then the cat will possibly be deaf as a post.
There are also plants which cats are said to detest the smell. The herb Rue is said to deter cats and also there is a plant sometimes marketed as Pee-Off -which is a member of the Plectranthus family - Plectranthus caninus which is only half-hardy - so it will work through the summer months but not for the rest of the year.
Though there is one easy solution. Most people who have a problem with cats usually don’t have cats themselves. Cats are territorial animals and will use gardens and roam until they are challenged by another cat.
So the most effective method of getting rid of other peoples cats out of your garden is get a cat yourself as I did or rather 7 of them.
Pear Scab on Photinia.
Whilst clearing up in the garden if you possess a Photinia (Chinese Hawthorn) please definitely have a close look at it.
If you notice lots of what would be described as black spots and lots of the older foliage is falling off then you may have this disease.
The Photinia up until recently has been one of those shrubs which could be described as easy maintenance and trouble free but it seems no longer.
The darkened splodges resemble what black spot looks like on roses but is actually a strain of pear scab.
Pear Scab has recently in the horticultural industry been a severe problem. It has attacked Hebe (Veronica), Crataegus (Quickthorn) and Pyracantha (Firethorn) in recent years but now seems to be attacking the Photinia family.
The only control to do is one remove all the damaged growth and trim the stems back by a third to some healthy buds or growth.
Then spray through the growing season with fungicide which will do scab at fortnightly intervals.

Garlean Housing Ideas
I keep getting this amazing image in my mind of what Garlean apartments, flats and houses could be like. So, here is how I like to think of the technologically advanced homes these guys live in.
I like to imagine Garlean houses are very open. There are few doorways with the exception of private rooms such as bedrooms, baths and studies. Electricity is obvious, as is plumbing and tech of convenience that you would not see in other places.
There are panels in the walls that slide out to store your coat, shoes, hat, purse, etc as you come home. There are options for higher ranking individuals to have chutes for both garbage and laundry. For those rank praefectus and above, perhaps they get free laundered garments and trash disposal. The panels slide back in and appear to be just another part of the wall when not in use.
Art and music are an integral part of Garlean culture. Owning art is a necessity if you’re a high ranking officer. When you invite your mates over, you absolutely have to be able to point out to your paintings, which are provided built in shadowboxes and lighting by more adjustable panels in the walls. The art is very colorful and bright compared to the silvers, greys and blacks of Garlean homes.
The lines are very sharp. Fireplaces have stainless steel mantels and framing. There’s a high-heat resistance vacuum for removing the burned bits after a fire is extinguished by either the owner or a timed sensor.
Sensors and smart elements are integral to the home. There are trail lights at the bottom of the molding in ever room. When the sensors pick up that you’re walking at night, they light up to lead you to wherever you’re going via predictive learning.
The kitchen is home to wonderful tech Eorzeans would be jealous of. The smart ice box, no longer just for keeping things cold, also has a more powerful function, allowing for freezing of goods. There is a terminal on the front that one can request a meal from one of the many restaurants or cafes located in the surrounding 5 malm radius. The oven is self-cleaning and is able to broil, bake and has a switch setting to convection. Both the ice box and ovens are built into the walls for a clean look. A coffee bar is often placed for convenience and allows two-to-three seats depending on size of the flat or home. A programmable machine brews coffee to perfection every time and even has attachments for making lattes and teas. Under the coffee bar’s top is a built in wine or liquor chiller with pull out drawers for strainers, zesters, glasses and anything else one may need for cocktails or mixed drinks. The sharp lines of the kitchen, silvers and stainless steel make for a very professional feel in even the most comfortable of places. A sensor ensures that the temperature of the area stays at the resident’s preferred number all year, especially when the oven is active.
A grease drain separates fat solids from liquids and allows the safe disposal of all kinds of oils without harming any inner pipes or workings. A food composter sits under the large two bay sink. The composter is completely hands safe and is able to tell food from finger via small bursts of imaging. The composter also saves data from foods and other items that have been composted to tell you the ph balance and moisture content of your fertilizer. If you enjoy indoor gardening, it is useful to use the scraps from inside the composter rather than purchasing them. Indoor gardening is a very popular hobby in Garlemald, as the landscape itself is rarely suitable for farming. A recent poll suggested that at least sixty-percent of all Garleans have some form of indoor plant, and at least forty-percent of that number are citizens growing their own vegetables or herbs! Every window can be outfitted with a self grooming gardening or flower bed. Simply mention to your HOA which you plan to take up and they can help arrange a delivery of seeds and soil for a very small deduction from your upcoming pay cheque.
Beyond the beautiful lines and clean sophistication of Garlean living areas, are the bathrooms. For Praefectus and above ranks, the bathrooms of each apartment are a luxury afforded no where else on Hydaelyn. The toilet seat is heated during the coldest months of the year, or year round if specified. A set of tall, thin vents in the wall blow warm air immediately after it senses you’ve exited the shower or bath. The hair dryer, flat iron and other bath room accessories are kept in yet another pull out panel in the wall. All toiletries are kept in their own separate panel that is lined with an anti-microbial vinyl that protects them from any bacteria that may travel in the air via the toilet flushing. Which, we might mention, is also automated. There is a motion sensor hand washing unit that not only dispenses water, but also foaming soap, warm or cold air and lotion. Top it all off with a beautiful marble finish on the countertops, glass above-counter sink bowl, tiled shower, claw-footed porcelain jet tub and freshly laundered and folded towels via a magitek automaton every single day.
The study is a highly customizeable area of your home! Choose from templates for a library, office, media room, theater, gaming area or craft room. Or speak with your HOA and design your own room with their guidance! All templates come with a choice from either hardwood or steel fixtures for desks, chairs, side tables, built-in cabinets and book shelves. Crafting rooms can either be a single focus room for mixed media, painting, sculpting or a combination of any choices. Special order looms, easels and other built-ins are available at an extra cost. Theaters come with a year’s subscription to Garlemald’s current leading entertainment provider. Whether you’re interested in current films, the performing arts, concerts or live shows, your comfort and entertainment are sure to be met!
Some homes are equipped with a second story to provide more rooms for either growing families or for guests! The sleek and refined finish of the stairs will impress anyone as your guest ascend to the next floor on hovering stairs. The illusion of no rails and glass walls plus the inflection of light make an optical trick that makes the stairs appear to float with no support. As always, tracked lighting on the stairs lead you safely to your destination every time. The landing pad at either side of the stairs feature a pull out safety wall to keep pets or small children from falling down or climbing up the stairs. All outlets in the home are also equipped with child safety guards. The outlet covers will only allow plugs to enter the electrical current, by reading the pulses of ceruleum emitted by the power cables to every device. Now would also be a good time to mention that Cerluem Blue provides free wireless connectivity to the intranet for one year after your purchase of a home. Any object that runs off of the intranet, including ice boxes, coffeemakers, vacuums, toilets and other devices can freely communicate with your smart terminal, free of charge.
Your terminal can be placed in either your bedroom or your office. It is a sleek and thin screen with a pullout keyboard. You can control the lighting, heat and air, humidity, air filters and schedule the automated cleaning services of your roombatek, composter, garden and even your entertainment terminals! You can choose from varying builds that can function as gaming terminals, as well.
Finally, there is the master bedroom! Only the finest in quality and modern convenience emerge as emperor here. Featuring your choice of platform, cabinet, raised or canopy bed in any size from Princess to Garlean Emperor. Your purchase comes with two sets of ultra-luxe fine woven magithread sheets. If you’ve not tried the soft and supple rabbit skin comforters from magithread, we highly recommend them during the winter, along with their thick woven deep pocket winterized sheets.
Either carpeting or hardwood is available in the master suite. A bay window frames a built-in bench surrounded by book shelves. Any lover of books in your life would be thrilled to sit among the floating clouds as they enjoy their next fantasy!
The master closet is impressive! Boasting an organizational system with lights and enough space to hold nearly one hundred pairs of shoes, plus fifty purses or twenty-five briefcases, one hundred dresses or tuxedos and even containing hidden room for a safe, hat boxes, purse boxes and canes!

Homemade Non-Toxic Pesticides for Your Garden
Is there a better solution, or do you really feel safe eating from a garden that is sprayed with those long chemical names that appear on the back of pesticide bottles?
The use of harsh chemical pesticides can unintentionally harm your loved ones or pets and is horrible for the environment. Use homemade non-toxic pesticides to keep your garden free of unwanted pests.
gardeninginfo-online.com gathered information about pesticides and gives you easy, non-toxic recipes for making them at home.
Pesticide Definition
The word pesticide is a general term used to describe many compounds which are used to control various types of pests. For example:
Insecticides – Used to kill or repel insects.
Herbicides – Used to kill unwanted plant life.
Rodenticides – Used to kill or repel rodents, including rats and mice.
Bactericides – Used to control or eliminate the growth and spreading of bacteria.
Fungicides – Used to control or eliminate the growth of fungi.
Larvicides – Used to attack and eliminate insects while still in a larval state (mostly for mosquito control).
For each of the above pesticides, there are homemade non-toxic versions that you can easily make and apply to your garden.
Homemade Non-Toxic Insecticide Recipe
The following recipe will help you safely control insects feeding on or damaging the foliage in your garden.
This recipe yields 1/2 gallon of insecticide.
You will need:
• Liquid dishwashing soap (Dawn, Lemon Joy, Ivory, etc. don’t use ultra or special formula varieties) • Vegetable oil (corn, canola, peanut, sunflower, etc.) • Warm water (filtered or soft water is recommended, but tap water will do)
Step 1 – Pour 1/2 cup of vegetable oil In the measuring cup, and stir in 3 Tbsp of the dishwashing soap. Mix well.
Step 2 – Pour the oil and dishwashing soap mixture into a 1-gallon jug, then fill the jug halfway with water.
Step 3 – Shake well and fill your spray bottle. Store the remainder (in the jug) in a cool, dry place.
Homemade Non-Toxic Herbicide Recipe
Here are two recipes for a homemade herbicide. One for areas where you plan to replant and one for areas where you don’t want to see any type of growth.
You will need:
• Ordinary white distilled vinegar with a minimum 5% acidity (the higher the acidity, the faster it works). • Table salt. Nothing special or expensive, simple NaCl works fine. • Liquid dishwashing soap. No particular type or brand needed, this is to help the vinegar adhere to the vegetation you are targeting.
For areas where you will replant – Fill a garden sprayer with vinegar and add one teaspoon of the liquid dishwashing soap to the vinegar.
That’s it. On a hot, dry day, spray down the vegetation you wish to remove. Once the weeds have died, it is safe to replant.
For areas where you do not want to see any growth – Before you proceed, applying the following recipe will eventually sterilize the soil it is applied to. This is a permanent fix.
Mix one cup of salt to one-half gallon of the vinegar and mix until the salt is dissolved. Then add one teaspoon of the liquid detergent, mix well and fill a garden sprayer with the mixture.
This mixture will kill all of the vegetation in walkways, driveways, and patios. It may take multiple applications, but as the salt level builds in the soil, nothing will be able to grow.
Homemade Non-Toxic Rodenticide Recipe
Here are two recipes for a homemade rodenticide. While neither recipe is toxic, it is important to wear protective gloves when making them. If your scent is on the poison, mice and rats will avoid it altogether.
You will need:
• Flour • Sugar • Baking soda • Peanut butter
For the first recipe – Simply mix a half-cup of flour, a half-cup of sugar, and a half-cup of baking soda together. Stir them together thoroughly to mask the baking soda.
That’s it. Place the mixture in mason jar lids and set them near areas where you know the mice or rats are nesting or commuting.
For the second recipe – Mix together equal parts of baking soda and peanut butter, wearing gloves, roll the mixture into balls and bait the areas where you know the mice or rats are nesting or commuting.
Peanut butter is so irresistible to rodents that commercial grade rodenticides use it as an ingredient.
The secret to both recipes is the baking soda. As it reacts with the rodent’s stomach fluid, carbon dioxide gas is produced. As mice and rats cannot pass gas, it builds up in the system until causing internal blockages or ruptures.
Note: Be extremely cautious if you have toddlers or curious pets. While these recipes are non-toxic, if ingested, they can result in the need for emergency medical attention.
Homemade Non-Toxic Bactericide Recipe
The most basic recipe is one of the most tried and true of all time.
You will need:
• Alcohol • Filtered or distilled water
Mix equal parts alcohol and water then shake. That’s it, your bactericide is ready to go.
Homemade Non-Toxic Fungicide Recipe
The following recipe will help you safely control fungi that are growing on and damaging the foliage or vegetables in your garden.
This recipe yields 1 gallon of fungicide.
You will need:
• Vegetable oil (corn, canola, peanut, sunflower, etc.) • Water (filtered or soft water is recommended, but tap water will do) • Baking soda or potassium bicarbonate
Step 1 – Mix 4 to 5 teaspoons of baking soda thoroughly with a gallon of water.
Step 2 – Add one tablespoon of vegetable oil and mix well. The oil will help the fungicide adhere to the areas it is applied to.
Step 3 – Liberally apply to affected plants and allow them to dry. Reapply the solution after heavy rainfall.
Homemade Non-Toxic Larvicide Recipe
One of the most promising and effective ingredients for a homemade larvicide is cinnamon oil. Just apply 2 to 3 drops in places where you may have or expect to have standing water.
If you can eliminate standing water altogether, you won’t need the larvicide.
Non-Toxic Pest Control
Stop using commercial grade pesticides. Avoid exposing your loved ones and pets to harsh chemicals which can harm them.
In this article, you discovered the different types of pesticides and found recipes to make them from non-toxic ingredients found in your kitchen.
By using harsh chemical pesticides, you can unintentionally harm your loved ones or pets. Keep them safe and lower the environmental impact by using homemade non-toxic pesticides to keep your garden and family healthy.

— Recommendations are independently chosen by Reviewed’s editors. Purchases you make through our links may earn us a commission. Spring is all about blossoming, new beginnings, and opening up the windows to let fresh air in. I look forward to a deep clean with a fresh playlist around this time every year, and things feel a bit more hopeful when the sun seems to be shining more—at least here in the Midwest. But, even if spring hasn’t quite gotten to your home yet, there are plenty of ways to spruce up your space with spring home decor. From fresh-smelling candles to a new doormat, these home decor items are a surefire way to make your space anew. So toss your blankets in the wash, grab an extra bag of soil, pour some tea, and get ready to freshen up your home for the upcoming season. 1. A candle to set the mood for the season Credit: Boy Smells Start by making your home smell like fresh fruits and veggies. Boy Smells candles have a cult following, and with good reason—they smell so good. I gifted one to my roommate and it brings a smile to my face every time she lights it. It’s still burning now several months later. To get your bedroom or living area ready for spring, I recommend pickup the Gardener scent. This candle is made of coconut wax and beeswax and combines notes of orange tree bark, tomato juice, honeysuckle nectar, petitgrain, and white tea to make the perfect aroma for those early spring days. Get the Boy Smells Gardner Candle from Nordstrom for $32 2. A doormat that matches your personality Credit: Olive Creative Co. Show your guests what to expect with a sassy or sweet doormat. With vaccines becoming readily available, we might be able to flex our hosting and entertaining muscles soon. So, now is the time to make sure your doormat is ready to welcome people into your home or make anyone passing by crack a smile. I’m a big fan of the “You Better Have Pizza” mat from Olive Creative Co. It’s humorous and lighthearted, and it’s perfect for a sleepover or getting pizza delivered. If that one isn’t your speed, check out other options like doormats that say “Homebody” or “Hey Sunshine.” Get the Olive Creative Co. “You Better Have Pizza” doormat from Esty for $45 3. Fresh foliage in the shower Credit: CAFlowerGrowers Make your shower feel like a spa. With spring comes warmer weather, meaning it's time to put away all the excess pillows and blankets you brought out for the colder months. There’s also something about the wicker material that's reminiscent of spending time outside. Get the Wicker Basket Set from QVC for $48 7. A countertop compost bin Credit: Bamboozle Keep your scraps out of sight with this bamboo bin. I recently tested a range of compost bins on the market for both indoor collection and outdoor spaces. This indoor bin from Bamboozle was one of my favorites, and it was runner-up for the indoor bins. I loved that the materials (mostly bamboo) and shipping materials were plastic-free and recyclable. I now keep this bin on my countertop or hang it on a hook in my kitchen when the counter is a bit crowded. If you’re looking to reduce food waste and ready to start composting, this sleek bin is wonderful. I do recommend getting it in the darker color though since the cream color stains easily from fruit and veggies. Get the Bamboozle Compost Bin from Amazon for $39.99 8. Plants for a pop of green Credit: FloridaPlantsGardens These ferns are light, airy, and quick to take up space! A new plant is the perfect thing to welcome in the spring for obvious reasons. This asparagus fern is a great addition to your indoor plant collection or a good one to start with for beginners, especially since it is relatively easy to take care of. Despite its name, it is not related to vegetable and is more pleasing to the eye than the stomach. Based on my experience these little guys grow pretty rapidly, adding plenty of green to your home. Get the Florida Plants Gardens Asparagus Sprengeri Fern from Etsy for $12.97 9. A textured throw Credit: Urban Outfitters Doesn't this texture make you want to stay on the couch? Spring is a bit of an in-between season. My roommate and I have been debating whether 40-degree weather is winter or spring—but we do agree that blankets, especially cute and cozy ones, will keep us at the right temperature until we can open the windows and let fresh air in. This tufted-throw blanket from Urban Outfitter is the perfect size for wrapping yourself up on the couch or adding on top of your duvet for another layer of warmth. The throw comes in natural colors that will complement midcentury, bohemian, industrial, and minimalist decor. Get the Aden Tufted Throw Blanket from Urban Outfitters for $69 10. A hammock chair Credit: Highwild Add this comfy chair to your porch or backyard. Warmer weather means more opportunities to sit outside on your front porch or in your backyard. When the time comes, you’ll want to be prepared with a comfortable place to sit like this personal hammock chair swing. This is the perfect spot to bask in the sun and let time pass you buy as you read and sip on an iced tea or write in your journal. If you don’t have any porch or yard space, don't worry. You can still enjoy this hammock. It’s easy to move and can be hung from a tree in a park or indoors to turn your room into a zen oasis. Get the Hanging Rope Hammock Chair from Amazon for $42.99 11. Bright, versatile dishcloths Credit: Anthropologie Add some color to your picnic basket. I love kitchen items, especially multi-purpose ones. I don’t use paper towels in order to reduce waste and be more sustainable, so I have a large collection of tea towels and dishcloths for cleaning, eating, and cooking. This six-pack of dishcloths is bright and charming. You can use them to dry dishes, wipe down counters, dust surfaces, and keep your hands clean during picnics. I can’t recommend these enough, and reviewers agree that they are of great quality and just as vibrant as the photos show. Get the Woven Geo Dishcloths, 6 Pack from Anthropologie for $24 12. A whimsical recipe card tin Credit: Rifle Paper Co. Keep your recipes in one place. Though I have an extensive Pinterest board of recipes, nothing compares to a handwritten recipe card. I have a few from my grandma and mom’s collection, and I’ve started to write my go-to recipes out on large index cards as well. The cards are easier to keep on the counter than my laptop or a cookbook, and you can laminate them to make them last. But you’ll need a place to store your recipes, and no tin is better than the floral ones from Rifle Paper Co. The tins are practical and whimsical, and if you’re a fan of the pattern you can match it with other accessories like your apron, phone case, and more. Get the Recipe Tin from Rifle Paper Co. for $34 13. Air plants Credit: The Sill You can display air plants any way you like. Air plants are little pops of life that you can display in a variety of ways. You can place them in glass globes on the wall, in a basket or tray on your coffee table, or add them as accents to your bookshelves. They don’t take much work, just a weekly soak to keep them perky. They’re a great alternative to potted plants if you don’t have much space or have pets who dig in the soil. This pack of six air plants is only $30, and the plants range in size so you can mix and match them as you decorate. Get the Air Plant Assortment from The Sill for $30 14. A bag for pretty much everything Credit: Urban Outfitters Keep this bag right by the door. Market bags are pretty popular and you’ve probably seen your favorite influencers carrying one as a purse or grocery bag. They’re common in zero-waste bundles as well, and for good reason. A good market bag can be used to carry fresh produce, flowers, or your daily essentials like your water bottle, purse, and phone. In addition to being transporting your goods, you can use it to store produce once you get home by hanging it a nail or hook or store it in the fridge. This bag can also be folded up to fit into a tiny purse so you’re prepared for any shopping emergency. Get the To-Go Market Bag from Urban Outfitters for $9 15. A tray to improve your baths Credit: Royal Craft Wood Take longer baths with a tray for your wine and books. I love taking a bath to wind down, especially since Daylight Saving Time has me a bit off my routine. Though I love relaxing, I tend to get bored and prop up my laptop to watch a TV show or awkwardly hunch to read a book. If you’re in the same boat, upgrade your baths with a tray that’s made to hold all your things. A mug of tea or glass of wine can sit in the coaster area. You can place a candle, lotions, face masks, essential oils, a vase of flowers, or bath salts to keep everything you use within reach. And the tray has several ridges to keep your phone, book, or tablet in place (and dry). Get the Bathtub Caddy Tray from Amazon for $49.97 The product experts at Reviewed have all your shopping needs covered.
