Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) — This Week`s Grobby
Fight on! Mixed fighting styles- or MMA, as it is passionately recognized- welcomes all dealing with disciplines to take part in today's most prominent full-contact sport Determining the occurrence and also analyzing the intensity of injuries in blended fighting styles athletes.Rainey, C.E. Naval Medical Facility, San Diego, CA. North American Journal of Sports Physical Treatment. 2009 Nov,4( 4):190 -9. . However just remember ahead ready to this Grobby (Greatist lingo for leisure activity): aside from some super-hip TapouT swag, gloves as well as mouth guards are essential in any Mixed Martial Arts enthusiast's arsenal.
THE MAIN EVENT - THE NEED-TO-KNOW
Originating in old Greece, blended fighting styles- or exactly what the Greeks originally called 'pankration'- combined boxing as well as wrestling to develop a no-holds-barred, frequently lethal Olympic occasion. After experiencing a rebirth in Brazil and also being maded popular in the USA by the Gracie Family, MMA swiftly came to be a Pay-Per-View struck when it was introduced as the Ultimate Combating Championship in 1993.
Modern MMA mixes fighting self-controls consisting of wrestling, boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, judo, kickboxing, and also Muay Thai. To make it through in Mixed Martial Arts's Octagon-shaped ring, mixed martial musicians train in a vast range of striking and also grappling skills. In prepping for the typically three-round bouts- each a fast-paced, exhaustive test of willpower, ability, as well as stamina- fighters work to boost cardio endurance, strength, as well as speed to outlive and also out grapple their opponents. Speak about a difficult day at the office.
Taking It To The Ring - Your Activity Plan
Luckily for the pacifists amongst us, MMA has actually broadened and advanced to consist of fitness-based classes for all ability degrees, so it's not required to go head-to-head with Tito Ortiz to obtain in a strong exercise. Many MMA classes even pass up full-contact sparring and rather concentrate on cardiovascular endurance, speed, adaptability, as well as useful weight training.
A typical MMA health and fitness class could consist of a vibrant warmup, drills and also ability work related to a particular battle method (tossing techniques made use of in judo, for example), MMA-specific movements (chokes, leg-locks, and also arm-bars), and also transitional techniques (punching to a takedown), in addition to a cooldown. Some fitness centers incorporate a variety of strength-building exercises consisting of TRX, resistance bands, kettlebells, battle ropes, as well as Olympic lifts to develop explosiveness.
Of training course, as a result of the bodily nature of the sporting activity, Mixed Martial Arts is connected with a selection of injury dangers, with blunt force injuries to the head leading to nearly 30% of professional suit standstills Determining the prevalence and analyzing the severity of injuries in combined martial fine arts athletes.Rainey, C.E. Naval Medical Facility, San Diego, CA. North American Journal of Sports Physical Therapy. 2009 Nov,4( 4):190 -9. No holds barred sporting activity fighting: an One Decade review of mixed fighting styles competiton.Buse, G.J. Cannon USAF Clinics, Aerospace/Preventive Medication, Clovis, NM. British Journal of Sports Medication, 2006 Feb, 40( 2):169 -72. .. Before committing to classes, be certain to plainly determine certain objectives with the trainer, as some health clubs emphasize the health and fitness aspects of Mixed Martial Arts whereas others are much more geared to combat preparation. Many centers welcome visitors and also might also supply totally free initial classes. Taking part in a totally free training session is a terrific method to inspect out the facility, the teacher, and also the arduous (yet fulfilling!) workout called MMA.

5 THINGS YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT FEDOR EMELIANENKO
Tumblr media
His salad days in Pride Fighting Championships are now a distant memory, but the iconic Fedor Emelianenko still packs a promotional punch. Emelianenko will make his once-delayed Bellator MMA debut when he faces “The Ultimate Fighter 10” alum Matt Mitrione in the Bellator 180 co-main event on Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York. The 40-year-old Russian enters the three-round clash on a run of five consecutive victories. However, Emelianenko has not competed since he was awarded a controversial majority decision over Fabio Maldonado under the Fight Nights Global banner a little more than a year ago. “The Last Emperor” has delivered 27 of his 36 career victories by knockout, technical knockout or submission; a staggering 24 of them have occurred inside the first round, including 12-, 26-, 36-, 54-, 62-, 63- and 69-second finishes. Emelianenko enjoys almost universal reverence among seasoned mixed martial arts observers, many of whom still rank him as the greatest fighter of all-time. As Emelianenko prepares for his encounter with Mitrione, here are five things you might not know about the former Pride champion:
Tumblr media
1. While he has his detractors, the track record speaks for itself.
Whenever “The Last Emperor” decides to hang up the gloves for good, he will do so with one of the sport’s most impressive resumes. He has defeated four former Whenever “The Last Emperor” decides to hang up the gloves for good, he will do so with one of the sport’s most impressive resumes. He has defeated four former Ultimate Fighting Championship titleholders (Andrei Arlovski, Tim Sylvia, Mark Coleman and Kevin Randleman), three K-1 World Grand Prix winners (Mark Hunt, Mirko Filipovic and Semmy Schilt), two Olympic silver medalists (Matt Lindland and Naoya Ogawa), an Olympic gold medalist (Satoshi Ishii) and a former Pride champion (Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira). Emelianenko’s list of vanquished opponents also includes Pedro Rizzo, Jeff Monson, Heath Herring, Renato Sobral and Ricardo Arona.
Tumblr media
2. He put together a historic run of dominance in his prime.
From April 6, 2001 until Nov. 7, 2009, Emelianenko compiled a ridiculous 27-0 record, with one no-contest, across 28 appearances. He went 3,473 days between losses.
Tumblr media
3. Few mixed martial artists have stayed at the top longer.
Emelianenko on March 16, 2003 waged a memorable battle against Nogueira in the Pride 25 main event at Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan. He took a three-round unanimous decision from “Minotauro” and assumed his position on the heavyweight throne. Emelianenko remained champion until Pride shuttered its doors in 2007, finishing a perfect 14-0 with the Japan-based organization. Only Jose Aldo, Wanderlei Silva,Georges St. Pierre and Anderson Silva
have enjoyed longer reigns as major MMA champions than Emelianenko, who held the Pride title for 1,663 days.
Tumblr media
4. Judges appreciate his work.
“The Last Emperor” has never lost a decision and in fact owns a perfect 9-0 record in bouts that have gone the distance. Those wins have come against Maldonado, Monson, Filipovic, Nogueira (twice), Schilt, Sobral, Arona and Ryushi Yanagisawa.
Tumblr media
.5. Prompting tapouts has always been a specialty.Emelianenko has 15 submission victories to his credit: six by armbar, four by rear-naked choke, three by kimura and two by guillotine choke. He has also struck two opponents -- Wagner da Conceicao Martins and Jaideep Sing -- into submission.

Victory Fighting Championship announces 2 title fights for VFC 56
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
3/1/2017
Follow @FrontProofMedia
Two title bouts get top billing for Victory Fighting Championship’s 2017 season debut
Bantamweight & Welterweight belts on the line April 14th in Omaha, Nebraska
Rob “The Saint” Emerson vs. Raufeon “Supa” Stots – VFC Bantamweight Title
Kassius “Killa Kayne” Holdorf vs. Yuri Villefort – VFC Welterweight Title
A pair of title bouts will be front and center when Victory Fighting Championship gets its 2017 schedule under way on Friday, April 14th at the Baxter Arena in Omaha, Nebraska, and live on UFC FIGHT PASS®.
Two-division champion Rob “The Saint” Emerson puts his bantamweight belt at stake as he takes on undefeated phenom Raufeon “Supa” Stots in the main event. The co-main event will mark the first title defense for newly crowned welterweight kingpin Kassius “Killa Kayne” Holdorf with challenger Yuri Villefort standing in the opposing corner.
Tickets for VFC 56 will be available at www.ticketmaster.com.
“These are two outstanding title fights featuring four of the very best talents on the Victory Fighting Championship roster,” said Ryan Stoddard, President & CEO of Victory Fighting Championship.
“Rob Emerson is a veteran competitor who still has designs on competing at the highest level but to get back to the UFC, he is going to have to defend his Victory Fighting Championship belt against unquestionably one of the top prospects in Raufeon Stots.
“Kassius ‘Killa Kayne’ is great mix with enough fights to now boast veteran-level experience but he is also a high-end prospect as well. Yuri Villefort has really turned his career around and is now back to competing at level everyone has expected from him.”
Rob “The Saint” Emerson (19-11, 1 NC) vs. Raufeon “Supa” Stots (7-0)
Emerson returns to the VFC cage after successfully claiming his second title when added the featherweight crown at VFC 54 in December with a first-round TKO stoppage over Ryan Roberts. The Huntington Beach, California, product scored the bantamweight title last June at VFC 51 when he registered a second-round submission verdict against Shawn West. The 35-year-old has notable career wins over Joe Taimanglo and Jared Downing, and also went 3-3 with one no-contest in the UFC. Inside the Octagon, Emerson picked up decision wins over Phillipe Nover and Keita Nakamura, and also dispatched Manny Gamburyan with a 12-second knockout.
Stots, who hails from Houston, Texas, and fights out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is one of the most highly prospects in all of MMA. His stock soared after his victory at VFC 53 when he dominated veteran Jeff Curran and took a clear-cut unanimous decision. Prior to that, Stots secured three straight finishes inside the VFC cage. He coaxed a tapout in the second round against Charlie Dubray at VFC 52, knocked out William Joplin in the first round of their meeting at VFC 49, and submitted Demetrious Wilson in the third round at VFC 47.
Kassius “Killa Kayne” Holdorf (8-3) vs. Yuri Villefort (9-5)
At VFC 52 last December, Holdorf turned in the most memorable and meaningful performance of his blossoming career. After nearly finishing arch-rival Maki Pitolo at the end of Round 1, Holdorf didn’t waste a moment in making sure a sensational verdict was in his grasp as he blasted Pitolo with an uppercut and earned a knockout win only five seconds into the second round to claim the belt. It was sweet revenge for the Omaha, Nebraska, native after he lost a heartbreaking decision to Pitolo in their original matchup – a fight he took on short notice yet went the distance in last July. In a bit of irony, Holdorf had been scheduled to face Villefort at VFC 52 before filling in against Pitolo, which ultimately led to title shot. The 30-year-old had won four of five prior to that narrow decision defeat.
Villefort, who is originally from Brasilia, Brazil, and now fights out of Boca Raton, Florida, had registered impressive finishes in seven of his nine victories, including his first-round knockout (knee) of Kenneth Glenn at VFC 47. The 25-year-old also bested Cody Carillo via decision at VFC 50. Villefort made two previous appearances in the UFC including Fight Night 28 in his home country.
Related: Interview w/ Kassius "Killa Kayne" Holdorf
More bouts for the VFC 56 card will be announced in the very near future.
UFC FIGHT PASS is available on: personal computers, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Amazon Fire TV, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Android, Chromecast, Samsung Smart TV, LG Smart TV, Sony TVs with Android TV and Roku devices.

Hints
Easy Cred. Points
Easy Cred. Points: Once you have finished a game in career mode. Go to Create-a-fighter and customize trunks. Pick all the sponsor logos with all the highest points attached to them (80 being the highest). Use all ten spaces and do not repeat logos. Also pick the Tapout, Sprawl, or Warrior trunks and they will give you an extra 80 points. Once you’ve finished with the fighter go to career mode and choose to copy the fighter you just created (do not change trunks). Your first fight will give you the normal points you always get, but every fight after that will give you all the points from the logos that you choose (the most being 880. 80 for the trunks themselves and 800 for the ten logos).
The Easy Tap
When your in a game and submiting someone tap A and X fast.
Keep Your Hands Up
If your inside the octagon always keep your hands up. Even if you take your opponent down and you are hitting him put your hands up after every kick or punch this will effect you opponents striking and kicking and you will have a better chance of winning.
KO Of The Night
To get a KO of the night award in career mode you need to knockout your opponent after you have run out of stamina, otherwise known as “being gassed. ” It is suggested to use head kicks, hook punches, uppercuts, and other hard head strikes.
Easier Submissions
In case you haven’t noticed yet, it is fairly difficult to submit somebody. Now something I learned that is far easier than killing your hand trying to spin the right stick as fast as you possibly can is to push the stick in and rotate it with your thumb as quickly as you can after you start whatever submission you are attempting. Obviously nothing works 100% of the time but when the stick is pushed down instead of left normal, it spins faster allowing more submissions.
Cheats
Play As SkyScrape
In the title screen, enter: Up, Up, Up, Down, Left, Right, Up, StartThis will unlock SkyScrape from Tapout in Exhibition mode in the middleweightclass. He is rated 74 overall.
Unlimited Points In Create-A-Fighter
In “Create-A-Fighter” Mode, preview a fighter and toggle his stats on and then off. Select him and choose the “Customize Attributes” option. You will now have 3024 points to distribute. Distribute all the points and then select “Finished”. Once the game saves, go back to “Create-A-Fighter” mode and repeat the process until every skill is at 100. This only works for the fighter skills: Cardio, Speed, and Strength attributes are not affected by this GLITCH. This doesn’t work in Career mode and also only works in the unpatched version of the game. You can delete all patches for the game by using the “Clear hard drive cache” code for the Xbox 360. If you have updated/patched the game, IT WON’T WORK!
Unlockables
Submission Of The Night
To get the Submission of the Night award in career mode, you must submit your opponent within the first two (2) minutes of the first round.
Unlock Dana White
To unlock UFC President Dana White as a fighter, the game requires you do the following.
You must submit:
Frank Mir, George St. Pierre, Demian Maia, BJ Penn
And knockout:
Quinton Jackson, Anderson Silva, Brock Lesnar, Kenny Florian
It doesn’t matter if it’s with a created or UFC in-game character. Once you’ve beaten the last fighter, the game will pop-up to advise you.

Hints
Quick Knockout
With a kick boxer style fighter kick them in the head knee them in the face call it a day baby give me my cheeeeeck! Yea its funny but really it works! ( it may take a couple high power kicks to the head but they will go down! ).
Championship Fights In Exhibition Mode
Go to match options at the weight class selection and change fight to 5 rounds.
Grapple Block
The grapple block is performed by holding the right analog stick toward your opponent during the clinch or in the groundgame. It prevents your opponent from slamming you from the clinch, or achieving a better position in the groundgame. Learning the grapple block is essential to your success in the ufc.
Perfect Record
On season mode if you lose by KO immediately press the PS button and QUIT the game and then start the game back up a gain and you have to fight the guy a gain.
Caution With Groundgame Against Brazillian Fighters.
For those of you who are not very good at executing submissions and defending submissions, it is wise to avoid a prolonged groundgame with a brazillian fighter. Fighters such as Anderson Silva, Tiago Silva, Wilson Goveia, and Lyotto Machida are perfect examples. If you stay on the ground with on of these fighters, try for the knockout asap. Otherwise, remain standing, because they will submit you.
Quick Finish
Want to finish a fight quick? Select a muay tai fighter such as Anderson Silva. Put your opponent in the clinch and give them repeated knees to the face. You may have to initiate the clinch a few times, but keep giving knees to the face and your opponent will not be standing very long.
Easier Submission
Make sure you get your opponents stamina down as far as possible. Note: (Have stamina meter on). Either get them in a mount position (Punching there body really gets it down. Don’t knock them out. Or have Wrestling or Judo and keep repeatedly slamming them until the screen goes black and white for your opponent). After slamming them or knocking them down go in for the submission before there stamina goes back up. To get the submission press X, Triangle, Square, & Circle with your thumb and spin the Right Stick with your other and there it is. (If you can’t get it try practicing it first in Tutorial and turn recovery off. And if it is still difficult get a fighter with great submission and face a fighter with low submission.
