13. What is a subject matter that is incredibly difficult for you write about? What is easy?

The realization that I don't like being kissed lead to the realization that I'm arospec, which lead to the realization that even though I write a lot of romance, I have characters kiss sparingly. And when they do, it's straight forward without much description. I can't write a good, long, kiss to save my life. And fuck it, I'm content with that. I don't want to spend a lot of time describing kissing, and it's cool to find romance that also uses it sparingly. A lot of my favorite canon ships are like that, now that I think about it.

As for what's easy. Something that I feel I don't write enough of, cosmetology. I actually went to a vocational school for their cosmetology program, where I became licensed. And even though the details are fuzzy since I haven't used my license properly since graduating, 4 years of studying and practice have ingrained a lot. I think this field is underrated in romance writing. Think about it, braiding each other's hair, painting each other's nails, doing each other's makeup - pinnacle of cuteness to me. I have an old WIP of t4t wlw lexangelo having a secret girl's night doing all that stuff, I should try to finish it.

32. What is a line from a poem/novel/fanfic etc that you return to from time and time again? How did you find it? What does it mean to you?

Lord Ullin's Daughter. I found this poem through Vampire Weekend and Jude Law's recording of it. Definitely recommend listening to it if you haven't, it's short. I thought it was supposed to tease Neo Yokio S2 but it's been like three years 😭

Anyways, this line, from the titular Lord Ullin's Daughter who would rather risk death at sea than be caught running off with her lover:

I'll meet the raging of the skies

But not an angry father

It makes me feel so much as trans person who afraid my father will try to physical hurt me when he finds out I'm trans. Like I've had nightmares about it and shit. I just really get what Lord Ullin's Daughter is saying here.

I like seeing the father regret... For obvious reasons. This poem really comforts me, I feel reassured that this author ~200 years ago understands that kind of relationship with your father. I know I'm not the first person to have daddy issues, but being the only person who fears your father, while everyone else tells me he would never hurt me, even though I know he would, it feels so isolating.

I forget how I was gonna end that answer. I should've just said Wendy's line about getting headaches in September that go to her heart from Goats. Oh well.
