Acht arrestaties en 155 aangiftes bij helpdeskfraude

Chris Collaris and Frederik Roijé complete lakeside home in the Netherlands

Dutch designer Frederik Roijé and practice Chris Collaris Architects have completed a house clad in black-stained timber near Amsterdam, with a projecting terrace overlooking the Markermeer Lake.

Located on a dyke in the village of Uitdam, the home is called House with a View and was designed for Roijé's own family as a space to "enjoy the landscape as much as possible".

A large open living, kitchen and dining space sits on the first floor, beneath the exposed pinewood structure of a steeply-pitched roof. Its shape and black-coloured cladding were informed by the houses and barns typical to the Waterland municipality.

This pitched form intersects with a more contemporary rectangular form at its southern end, which extends the living area and creates a covered terrace space projecting outwards towards the lake.

The structure is clad in black-stained timber as a reference to traditional Waterland buildings

"[It is] a house that fits within the contours of the historic buildings, but with unique contemporary features," explained the designers.

"The structure of the house has partly remained visible in the interior... Due to the rectangular element in the house, the living space has areas with straight walls and ceilings...the space is high, and amorphous," they continued.

This large living area is designed to create two different atmospheres at either end of the home. At the front is a more intimate seating area next to a wood-burning stove, with a window looking out at two garden spaces on either side of the street.

At the rear of the home, a more open space is organised around a large kitchen island, overlooking the lake through sliding glass doors.

The dining table sits between these two areas, positioned where the rectangular form intersects with the pitched volume, and is illuminated by a thin skylight.

A pine wood staircase passes a large square window as it leads down to the more private ground floor, where the home's three bedrooms and bathrooms are positioned.

The home was organised around views out to the water

The interiors have been finished using lamps, chairs and tables from Roijé's own collections. Black steel and mahogany window frames reference the exterior colour, and contrast the pale beams of the roof structure and concrete floor.

"To make the atypical typical was the greatest challenge of this house," said Collaris. "[Roijé] has been an inspiration to me for years with his product designs, which in my view are atypical typical as well. They are turning your mind on things you thought you already knew."

A large sheltered balcony projects from the rear of the building

Black timber was used previously by Chris Collaris Architects for its Tiny Holiday Home in a nature reserve near Amsterdam, designed in collaboration with i29 Interior Architects.

The studio has also built a black wooden cottage with an exaggerated roof in Amsterdam.

22e Waterland-Kerkenland op 24 en 25 juni door Waterland

Voor het twee-en-twintigste achtereenvolgende jaar wordt in Waterland en Landelijk Amsterdam-Noord Waterland-Kerkenland georganiseerd. Op zaterdag 17 en zondag 18 juni en op zaterdag 24 en zondag 25 juni 2017.

Deze muzikale fietsroutes voeren u door het prachtige Noord-Hollandse landschap, naar kerkjes, waar u op muzikale intermezzo’s wordt getrakteerd. Er is een gevarieerd aanbod: van klassiek tot jazz en van shanty tot folk. In totaal zijn er 64 optredens van 16 ensembles, orkesten, koren en bands. Om de miniconcertjes bij te kunnen wonen moet er wel gefietst worden. Vooral de combinatie van een mooie omgeving, de acht kerkjes en de uiteenlopende muziek staan garant voor een mooie zomermiddag.

De tocht op 17 en 18 juni gaat langs de kerken van Zunderdorp, Durgerdam, Ransdorp en Holysloot. Dit is de Zuidroute. Met de Noordroute, op 24 en 25 juni, fietsen we langs de kerkjes van Zuiderwoude, Uitdam, Broek in Waterland en de R.K. Kerk van Monnickendam.

De formule is eenvoudig: U kunt starten bij een kerk naar keuze. Op elk heel uur, 13.00, 14.00, 15.00 en 16.00 uur, begint in iedere kerk langs de route een concertje. Ieder concertje duurt 20 minuten. U geniet van de muziek, kunt even heerlijk uitrusten en hebt dan weer voldoende energie en alle tijd om naar de volgende kerk te fietsen.

Beide routes zijn elk ongeveer 18 kilometer. De afstand tussen de kerken – tussen de drie en de vijf kilometer – maakt het heel goed mogelijk om van kerk tot kerk te fietsen. Voor kinderen tot 12 jaar is deelname gratis. Meer informatie: www.waterland-kerkenland.nl

Waterland is een fietsgebied bij uitstek. Zeven dorpen en één stadje met een roemruchte geschiedenis hebben daar hun eigen karakter weten te behouden. De eeuwenoude kerktorens zijn nog altijd de vaste oriëntatiepunten. Het is de achtertuin van Amsterdam met veel vrijliggende fietspaden; voor fietsers een eldorado.

In de dorpen zijn, behoudens Ransdorp, alle kerken in gebruik bij kerkelijke gemeenten. Er is een traditie van gastvrijheid en openheid om alle bezoekers te ontvangen voor een rondleiding, torenbeklimming, concert of tentoonstelling. Er staan tijdens deze fietsweekenden tientallen vrijwilligers klaar. Fiets mee en geniet!

Marken via Durgerdam and Uitdam

I woke up to a bright Sunday in Amsterdam, I cleaned the house and wanted to stay in but then I thought it would be a shame to stay inside on such a nice day. So I decided to cycle to Marken.

Marken  is a small town in the municipality of Waterland in the province of North Holland in the Netherlands. Marken is a tourist attraction, well known for its characteristic wooden houses. It is around 27-28 kms from Amsterdam Centre with bike. Here is the route that was suggested by google maps.

So I cycled to Zuiderzeeweg, where I cycle pretty much everyday and then I turned on left to Schellingwouderbrug. In the middle of bridge, there are stairs that I took and I after 5 minutes of cycling, I was in this amazing village called Durgerdam. I am living in IJburg and this awesome village is like 30 minutes with bike from my place and I’ve never been there. Shame on me! Let’s see how it looked like

Stopping many times to take pictures of awesome houses and greenery, I cycled further and I reached Uitdam, a small settlement with a population of around 160 :). On my way, I saw several people cycling there. It was one of those places that you see in movies, unbelievably beautiful.

I stopped close to river to get some rest and drink juice, and saw this beautiful scene. For like 10 minutes, there was no one around and I enjoyed the calmness and beauty of that place.

After cycling for quite sometime, I ended up at place, where on my left was Volendam, and on my right, Marken. I choose to go to Marken but that was the  plan, here are pictures of Windmills that I took on the way

Going forward, I could see the small house from distance already. Also there were several people with their awesome heavy racing bikes and they were biking there (of course on their own lane). After cycling for another kilometre on a thin road between water. I ended up in Marken. I was at dock and the view was brilliant, see for your self

Eating a juicy apple in sunlight next to this place, pretty sweet eh? I don’t have to win a million euro lottery, these small moments of my life that my look useless to some are source of my happiness and the memories of them get my going when I am sad.

Anyway, I met two American girls from Alaska there who were also cycling. They were not sure if they should go to Marken and I suggested they should. We talk about weather in Alaska and of course about Aurora :). After a small chat, I chose to continue journey and here is another picture of the road I was cycling on

I put my headphones on and played some electronic music and cycled almost no-stop to my house. I was drenched in sweat and tired but this was an awesome journey.

This personal residence is found in the idyllic village of Uitdam, The Netherlands.

It was created by Korteknie Stuhlmacher Architecten and finished in 2013.

“Uitdam is a small, picturesque village at the banking institutions of the IJsselmeer. The consumers positioned a modest house to be demolished, up coming to the church and the dyke, just large satisfactory for a new dwelling for two.
