Weird frogs

Ok so while I was thinking about making these, in my head for some reason I thought Uglette was a much brighter pink than she actually is (It's actually a pretty nice shade looking at it now lol) BUT despite being wrong, that did give me the idea to base her off of a poison dart frog.

So, for fun I ended up making two palettes: One more based on her actual colours, and then one meant to look like my idea (Yes I know there aren't actually pink poison dart frogs that look like this but shhh lol)

And yeah I gave them tails, because I wanted to and you can't stop me

A little fanfic inspired by @nightcovefox ‘s Beauty And The Beast AU.

Warnings: Dealing with losing a body and becoming an object. Negative thoughts. Cartoon violence (being caught on fire a little bit. Not hurt.).

Plot Context: The scene occurs a few days after everyone has turned into objects. Peaches (Rabbid Peach) has locked herself into the bedroom she was tending to upon seeing her new form. Her friends are trying to coax her into coming out.

Globox, Rayman, Uglette, and Raymesis stand before the locked door. Uglette approaches the door.

Rayman: “Mon amie, please open the door! I assure you I will not judge!”

Uglette: “Peaches, please let us in! We miss you.”

Globox: “We promise we won’t laugh!”

Globox nudges Raymesis’s side since he didn’t say anything.

Raymesis: “Sigh- Yes, we all miss you. I can guarantee you don’t look as ridiculous as us. Probably. You can’t lock yourself in there forever! The master will get upset.”.

Peaches: “FINE! Uglette can come in. I don’t want anyone else to see me until she does. Okay?!”

The group hears the click of the door unlocking. She shares a glance with Rayman before she enters. He looks extremely worried for his friend, he hasn’t been successful in getting Peaches to leave the room before. Uglette wobbles into the room. It was hard to move now that she was a teapot. Once in, she bumps gently into the door to close it back up. Despite her efforts, the door does not close all the way.

Uglette sees a feather duster- no. Peaches sitting in front of the vanity mirror, surrounded by makeup and hair curlers. Her white feathers were fluffed up to be like the shape her hair was before she became an object. Uglette wonders if she styled it herself or if she just appeared that way. They appeared ruffled and damaged from countless attempts to curl them. It hurts to see her this way.

Peaches: “Heh. I look silly, don’t I? I’ve been trying so hard to fix myself up, but I think I just made myself look worse. Do… you mind if I see what you look like Uglette?”

Uglette pauses but attempts to nod in her direction. “Yes dear, you can.”

Peaches turns away from the mirror to face Uglette. She chokes out a sob as she floats towards her friend. Hugging the teapot with her feathers.

Peaches: “Oh Uglette…What are we going to do?”

Uglette: “We’ll be there for each other dear, that’s all we can do.”

The two are silent for a moment. Leaning into each other closely, trying to comfort the other as best as these new forms can offer them. Peaches suddenly breaks the silence with a defeated whisper.

Peaches: “How…can I face Rayman in this form…I look nothing like how I once was. What if he doesn’t like it? What if… he doesn’t like me anymore? How were you able to face Globox after this happened?”

Uglette: “Because I know he loves me, Peaches. And I love him! We wouldn’t let our new appearances get in the way of how we feel. Would you turn away Rayman now that he looks different?”

Peaches: “No! It’s just…well I’m sure he wasn’t turned into a stupid FEATHER DUSTER!!! I look ridiculous…”

Globox, Rayman, and Raymisis hear Peaches yelling about how she’s a feather duster from outside the room.

Raymesis whispers: “Yeesh a feather duster? Maybe she shouldn’t come out. Ray might burn her to a crisp”.

Globox and Rayman glare back at Raymesis. As much as a clock and candlestick can.

Peaches: “What if he makes fun of me?”

Uglette: “He will not make fun of you Peaches! The poor boy just misses you. If he does, I’ll be sure to give him a talking-to!”

A moment of silence passes. Uglette attempts to gently fix up some of Peaches’s feathers. Hoping to ease her friend’s worries by doing so. She is unsuccessful, but Peaches appreciates the sentiment nonetheless. Uglette finally breaks the silence.

Uglette: “Are you ready to come out now? I’ll come with you if that helps.”

Peaches: “Yeah…thanks, Uglette.”

The group is startled by the door suddenly opening. When Peaches emerges from it along with Uglette, she is greeted by the group of boys awkwardly turned around from them. She sees that Raymesis and Rayman have been turned into candlesticks. She assumes Globox is the blue clock beside them.

Rayman pipes up: “Can… Can we look now?”

Peaches inhales hesitantly. “Yeah, you guys can”.

Everybody turns around to face her, silent. When suddenly, Rayman rushes in to hug her.

Rayman: “Oh Peaches!!! Thank goodness you’re okay. I was so so so worried.”

Hot wax falls onto Peaches’s feathers. She assumes this is Rayman’s tears now that he’s a candlestick.

Peaches cries, “I- I’m so so sorry Ray. I was just scared about how you all would react. I’m sorry I hurt you and I’m so happy everyone’s okay”.

Rayman sobs, “It’s okay! I’m scared too. We all are. But we can get through this. Mr. Dark just has to find the right person for him and everything will go back to normal! Everything’s going to be okay. I promise.”.

Peaches: sniffle “I love you, Ray.”.

Rayman holds Peaches closer. His flames burned brighter at her confession.

Rayman: “I love you too, Peaches”.

Peaches feels so warm in Rayman’s embrace. He still holds her tightly like he used to. He still loves her. And she will always love him. She looks around and sees her friends are all there for her. They ALL care. No matter what form she takes. No matter what form they take she’ll always care for them. She feels so warm…warm…hot. HOT!! OH NO.

Raymesis: “STOP. STOP. STOP. YOU'RE SETTING HER ON FIRE!!!”

Peaches: “WAAAGH!!”

Rayman: “AH!! OH GOODNESS!! PEACHES I’M SO SORRY. I GOT EXCITED AND-.”

Raymesis: “PUT IT OUT DUMMY!!”

Rayman lets go, stepping away from Peaches, trying to blow out the fire. Raymesis quickly tries batting away the flames out of Rabbid Peach’s feathers. He makes it worse when he realizes his candles are on fire too. Globox wobbles around the room, screaming in panic.

Uglette: “Don’t worry darling! I’ve got you!!”

The teapot sprays tea on the feather duster, putting out the flames. Peaches now sits there, covered in cold lavender tea, her feathers all soaked and a hint of burnt smell of her feathers in the air. Her friends await her reaction, nervous about what she might say now that they’ve potentially made her situation worse.

Peaches: “...”

“Pftt- BWAHAHAAHAHA. Oh, that couldn’t have gone ANY worse! Hehehehe! Ohhhh… that reminded me so much of my time with my friends back home. Every day was something crazy let me tell you, heh!”

At first, her friends giggle quietly at the absurd situation before the usually stoic Raymesis bursts out laughing alongside her. They all join in, a cacophony of laughter echoing through the abandoned castle hallways.

After some time has passed, Peaches embraces all of her friends with her feathers. Raymesis and Rayman extinguish their flames before joining them, not wanting a repeat of the last time. The group shares a hug.

Rayman: “So…tell us. What were your friends like? We’d love to hear about them. I’m sure you have plenty of stories to share!”.

Peaches’ feathers excitedly perk up, eager to share more about her old friends. The Mario Brothers, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, the Rabbids, her best friends… Mari…and Beep-0. A pang of worry hits her heart, wondering how distraught they’d be seeing her this way. Anyway, she’ll probably be back to normal before they see her again. There’s not any reason for them to come to the castle, right?

She pushes the thought of her old friends seeing her out of her mind and shares funny stories about the past. They laugh and share stories about themselves too, how they met, and their childhoods, Raymesis even shared some embarrassing stories about Mr. Dark! It was bold of him to share something that juicy under their circumstances, but Peaches knew it was to make her feel better. She appreciated it. Especially since it’ll be perfect information to tell Mr. Dark’s future lover that’ll come to save them. Someone needs to lighten up that grump’s image somehow! And then they’ll all be able to return to normal! Simple. They just have to wait. Surely someone will come!

She knows they can get through this. As long as they are together.

Rayman Ship Posting: Canon Globox Edition

Globox is currently married to the love of his life: His wife Uglette who he has so many wonderful little children with.

Uglette is Incredibly kind and compassionate. A very motherly type to everyone. She has the patience of a saint when it comes to her husband and her children. Globox is one hundred percent dedicated to this woman and remains faithful and true.

Their children are all unique. This family is pro-LGBTQ+ and support any pronoun you or their children wish to identify as. They have so many children and all of them have their own views, some also have specific pronouns.

Globox will bond with his wife and any of the children that wish to participate by pampering them full salon style. He will help apply their make up, help them with their manicures and pedicures, and absolutely will put on the salon attendant persona and engage gossip.

Globox may be a cowardly guy, but if you try to express hostilities near him, he'll angry over it but tends to not engage further. If you are saying comments directed at his children however, you are NOT getting out of that unscathed. Globox WILL engage in fisticuffs when his children are being threatened. You bet your ass Rayman will hear about this later and he may continue where Globox left off.

For Uglette, its rare for her to get hostile and will just glare at you from across the room. If you try her patience with hate however, she’s getting the rolling pin. Globox and Rayman will take bets on if the pin will break on impact.
