Final exams…..
PACIFIC OCEAN (June 2, 2020) -- United States Navy nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) formally celebrates final completion of all readiness exercises, and being certified for imminent overseas deployment, with a fly-over of some of its air wing off the coast of California.
The supercarrier, with it’s nearly 6,000 men and women onboard, will be deploying overseas to the Pacific and Indian Oceans very soon on a regularly-scheduled six-to-seven-month voyage. The crew has already had to endure a lengthy onboard quarantine to guard against the COVID-19 coronavirus.
USS Nimitz (CVN 68) will be escorted overseas by guided-missile cruiser USS Princeton (CG-59); and guided-missile destroyers USS John Paul Jones (DDG-53), USS Sterett (DDG-104), and USS Ralph Johnson (DDG-114).

Tic Tac Witness Ryan Weigelt Interview
Premiered on 20 Oct 2019
Meet navy vet AD1(AW) Ryan Weigelt. Ryan was present on the USS Princeton (CG-59) during the tic tac encounters of November, 2004. He was a helicopter maintenance training instructor. As a member of the squadron assigned to the ship with HSL-43 Detachment 5, the “Battlecats”, Ryan was a LPO or leading petty officer, training up to 20 people pre-deployment on the operations and maintenance of the SH-60B Seahawks. Ryan’s navy career spanned 15 years before he left the service in 2012. His extensive expertise in Sea Hawk system maintenance and operations covers all aspects of the anti-submarine helicopters. During the workups off San Diego, Ryan witnessed several very unusual events that lend credence to the reports from the other navy vets as told in the Nimitz Encounters documentary. Listen as Ryan recounts those events for the first time. I conducted this interview Friday October 11th. Ryan has provided me with his DD-214 Military Separation Papers and I have photo’s proving his navy career. He was an aviation machinists’ mate petty officer first class, anti-submarine warfare operator.

SOUTH CHINA SEA (July 15, 2020) -- Looking almost as if an artist’s-rendering for a movie or game poster, United States Navy Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Princeton (CG 59) patrols the often dramatically-lit nighttime tropical seas between China and the Philippines....
....while escorting nuclear-powered aircraft carriers USS Nimitz (CVN 68) and USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) in a show of force against serious Chinese military incursions and territorial seizures in the region.

U.S. Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Christiano Cervantes (Courtesy of the U.S. Navy)
U.S. Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Christiano Cervantes, a native of Hemet, recently returned to San Diego, marking the end of a more than 10-month deployment aboard Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Princeton (CG 59) to the U.S. 5th and 7th Fleet areas of operations.
Cervantes is a gunner’s mate aboard USS Princeton, responsible for the operation of and maintenance on the ship’s weapons systems.
“I maintain and operate our ship’s MK38 mod 2 machine gun system, as well as our .50-caliber machine guns and various small arms,” Cervantes said in a news release.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the crew of USS Princeton embarked aboard the ship for a nearly month-long sequester April 7, 2020. While underway in U.S. 3rd Fleet, the crew rendered aid to a distressed personal watercraft user off the coast of Southern California. USS Princeton then joined Nimitz Carrier Strike Group (NIMCSG) for integrated training before deploying June 8, 2020.
“My proudest moment on this deployment was when I chose to re-enlist,” Cervantes said in the news release.
Cervantes graduated in 2015 from California Virtual Academies.
