Darby is startled awake, and his eyes dart around him. He didn't think his heart could feel like it was pounding out of his chest, yet here he was. Maybe his heart was mimicking what it used to do. Whatever it was he knew it was doing it for a reason. When he finally found himself calmly breathing he felt why.

Jungle Boy was curled up asleep next to him, a hand clutching Darby's shirt.

Darby sighed. He didn't know how he got past the hotel lock or the locked window but here was his nuisance of a (were they friends? Were they something more?) person in his bed despite the warnings from Luchasauraus. Darby watched him, taking note of just how innocent the other looked. If Darby didn't know how mischievous he was he would have dubbed Jungle Boy an angel, but Darby knew better. He sat up, and with the movement, Jungle Boy stirred, scooting closer to Darby with his hand clinching the piece of fabric tighter.

Darby may be undead, but his emotions were not as he chuckled at this. It was amusing to see somebody so persistent in being close to him even in their sleep. He wondered just how often he was on Jungle Boy's mind. If anybody asked Darby he'd tell them that he rarely thought of him. That they were complete opposites in that regard. Where Jungle Boy was obsessed with him Darby saw him as a gnat that he took notice of whenever the other made his presence known.

So why did Darby find himself reaching out to pet Jungle Boy's thick, curly hair? He dared to run his fingers through Jungle Boy's hair, amazed that it had no knots (Luchasauraus must take great care of this mop of hair for it to not be tangled). His hand paused when he heard a sigh escape Jungle Boy's lips.

His mind thought of the fluttering feeling his chest would have done were he alive.

"Shit," Darby muttered to himself.

Darby laid back down with his hand resting on top of Jungle Boy's head. Luchasauraus was going to kill them when he found them in the morning but for now, Darby drank in the feeling of having somebody to look forward to. Even if they were a pest.
