Crowley sent a book flying, and Aziraphale gasped. 

“Crowley! That’s quite enough!” Crowley stared at him like an angry cat, a dare in his eyes. Aziraphale was not willing to take him up on it. His mind was too preoccupied. He sighed, and voiced some of his oldest concerns, as if this time, there might be answers: “If the plan is truly ineffable, then isn’t all this part of it? Are we just acting it out the way it’s supposed to? Can we even go against it?” What if the Almighty planned it like this all along?

The thing with not being able to run away was: you had to stay. You had to face the music and the angel and the questions. Questions were great and all, but Crowley really did prefer it when they came with answers.

“Great big bollocks to ineffability,” Crowley grumbled, not coming to a rest, and pulling out books at random. “If it’s so ineffable, how about I just pull out a book, here, this one, and open it, and then it will tell me a Perfect Clue and we will solve the whole stupid mystery? Huh?!”

He pulled out a big book that turned out to be a dictionary, opened it at random, closed his eyes and landed a spindly finger on the page. He opened his eyes. Vindication spread all over his face. “Hypochondriasis! Ha! Great big fat help that is. How ineffable!” He turned the book towards Aziraphale, pointing angrily, and on another night the display might have amused him. 

Aziraphale sighed, again. It was an evening especially suited for sighing. He looked down, and didn’t see Crowley pulling out another book. “It seems we have both been a tad… irascible. Understandable, I feel, considering… everything.”

“What the fuck does that even mean,” Crowley grumbled, but got the gist of it anyways. He stared at the book in his hands, angrily. 

“Come,” said Aziraphale, and motioned towards the couch. “Sit.”

“Don’t tell me what to do.”

He came and sat anyway, but in a way that communicated very clearly that it was on his own volition, by his own free will and nothing else, thank you not. 

“You could look it up in your dictionary, the word,” Aziraphale mumbled distractedly, pointing towards the book in Crowley’s lap, but it was not a dictionary at all. It was a copy of Paradise Lost. How ironic. Almost…

“Well if that isn’t ineffable,” he said dryly, but didn’t really mean it. 

Crowley, making a face, tossed the book to the side. They both watched a piece of paper slip from the pages: watched an old photograph glide to the ground. Crowley was the one to reach out and pluck it. He looked at it wordlessly.

Chapter Eight

Chapter Summary:

Because it would have been better if she had known the truth about Jaime, that he had survived the Battle of the Bells. Whether or not it was Jaime or Tyrion or even Bronn who told her would matter little if she had known he was alive right away and could be beside him. But now years later, knowing the truth of it… knowing that he lived for years and she was never supposed to have known at all, that he hid from her – after what he said and did to her… how could he think coming here was the right decision? How could he think that trying to participate in a tourney to win her hand was the right move to make? The choices he and Tyrion made only deepened the resentment she felt for Jaime and the words he left her with that winter night years before. The anger and the hurt only grew wider and deeper whenever she saw him struggling, bursting through her blood vessels like warm, red wine spilling off a table.

UPDATE

There’s going to be a decrease in my more.. ‘detailed’ art posts. Because, when I do my detailed art I enjoy adding text to them. However, last weekend my laptop broke and I have a hard time keeping my writing quality up while writing on my phone and tablet. I have a difficult time keeping both my writing quality and making sure I keep my hands in a comfortable position while writing.

Don’t worry though!! As soon as my laptop is back I’ll have plenty to post.

WHAT I HAVE READY AND WHATS COMING:

This was actually quite obvious because I believe it was only a single post ago that I mentioned fantroll character sheets being made. Oh yeah, what I didn’t mention is that multiple were being made. I have 5 ready to go.

the characters that will eventually will be shown are still under construction. Thus far I’ve changed 2 backstories, Kind of. I’ve changed Malmin’s origin (he was actually my first post!) and 2 characters’ reasoning for being involved. I’ve given one of them a hobby. I know that sounds like a basic thing to give characters but I haven’t gotten that far. It’s all being worked on.

I still have plenty of fiddling to do as I’m actually thinking of SOMEWHAT changing the storyline. Since I was considering just ditching the MLP infection AU. I was thinking of kind of merging the idea with the homestuck AU comic (no. No ponies and trolls. I could only see mass murder in that case. Unicorns blasting Sober Gamzee out of existence.). Everything is still under construction but the idea of the war has NOT been scrapped. I just feel like the original storyline would actually make more of an interesting backstory on how we got from point A to point B than a main storyline.

please do note though: nothing has been officially scrapped yet. Not that I think anyone will actually care about this ‘project’ but.. just incase there r some people out there that do.

on another note of fiddling with stuff. I think I’m going to make this story more writing than art with the occasional art or video popping up in between for things I think would better be expressed with art. The terrible part about this: I’m not a writer. My writing usually sucks. So essentially: EVERYTHING IS BEING MESSED WITH.

Honestly, that surprises me and delights me greatly in equal measure. I was debating cutting that scene because I was afraid it was just too out-there. (I could never though, I had way too much fun with it.) But I really thought it was gonna be one of those points where people just close the tab XD

Nooo? It was exactly like them. “No matter what happens you can’t kill them” I know Bowen’s speaking but I hear Ben. “A Hemsworth brother that I didn’t know about” I hear Martin. This happens a lot with Sarah and Bowen, they adopt their writers voices/deliveries and able to switch it on and off. But someone like Longfeller for example has only one voice.

~ mini update ~

i have no idea if i've mentioned this before but addicting taste will be undergoing heavy editing possibly sometime in june. my writing changed and evolved over these past few months and as happy and proud as i am of the chapters currently up, the ones at the start up to chapter 6 need some serious structure work.

until then, chapter 10 is on its way, for real this time, this weekend. it is coming. i was supposed to release it last weekend, alongside runaway as a gift for being away for so long, but uni got in the way (as always), plus me editing it like crazy since it's over 33k+ words and tumblr's block thing kept attacking me 🥹

yep, so hopefully you guys are still ready for the ride with enishi and miyu because it's getting complex and really close to where rurouni kenshin the final verse will step in (somewhere in a few chapters). i've been plotting the plot for over six months and it's finally reaching the points i wanted and i'm all ahhhhhhhhh about it.

hope you are still here :) thank you for the constant appreciation i see in my inbox and for the fact that you took the time to dive into the story despite its shortcomings. i love you all and i hope your week is breezy, easy, peasy and all kinds of fun ❤️
