i think a lot of the reasons why people think TSATS is wildly mischaractized is because we’ve hardly seen these characters out of a massive, world ending scenario in so long. yeah they’re going to act different and more their age they’re not in constant fight or flight 😭😭

alleged special grade sorcerer geto with 10+ years of experience getting packed up by a freshman who’s been studying sorcery for less than a year is the greatest thing to happen in jjk because it shows that geto only defected because he had jealous second lead syndrome and wanted the spotlight to himself and then it backfired because he never deserved it, as proven by not being able to hold its own against a kid who needed kalteen bars and under eye concealer even AFTER announcing the date he was gonna be fighting which means he had time to prepare in advance and still fumbled. lol L + ratio + negative aura + extra negative aura for bringing out playful cloud and inadvertently giving revived toji even more aura as if it isn’t bad enough that he two pieced geto ten years ago and caused his unjustified crash out in the first place. mind you, said scrawny freshman was doubted by kenjaku and then got murked by him too. yuuta my beloved winner boy

TEAM8s is not a team that did nothing, but rather a team that suffered from unused potential

This is an analysis of Team8s in TPOT 1-2, and (most) characters on the team. This is what I believe to be how an arc for Team8s could've been portrayed if their team had something going on before the merge. This analysis takes into consideration their experiences in BFDIA and BFB, and how it could've affected TPOT and their team.

Team8s is a team that is full of potential, it was formed through Coiny wanting to have woah bunch reunited, and Saw and Gaty wanting to team with Barf Bag over having zig zags, it is also a team made up of close duos (+ Needle), and 5/8 of the members having leader qualities. This is a team that has so much potential because of how much conflict could have arisen, even before the team was officially formed, Coiny, Gaty and Pin were arguing over the team's name, over something so trivial too! This interaction shows how strong they are with their wants and beliefs, and rooted in why the team was formed, that it should be named after why they're in the team, instead of making something united together. The characters joined for different reasons and it's interesting seeing right off the bat how strong each of their presences are. For potential, I believe Pin and Coiny's conflict with their experiences in BFDIA could've made for something interesting, especially since two of the characters were dragged into the team because of that. BFDIA is something Coiny wishes to relive and want that experience to be ongoing, but it isn't and he cannot move on from the past, contrasting with Pin's distaste for the season because of her treatment, experiences, even becoming disabled in the season and nobody caring other than Coiny. They have extremely different views of the season that brought them together despite being so close, and with this team, I believe it would have given them the chance to show their frustrations about the season, and have the ability to communicate more in depth about why it left such an impact on both of them, and also how they can move on from it and enjoy the future outside of that season. That being said, the characters outside of that duo can push that potential arc forward, BFDIA being a season that some characters weren't there for, or didn't impact them overall. Donut being the first eliminated, the game itself wouldn't have much importance to him, and due to his early elimination, he grew as a character due to that. If his previous characterization was referenced by Coiny or any other character, either Barf Bag or pin could remarked that he isn't the same person, he still retains his irritable nature but he now is more considerate and thoughtful, a person who is a leader and rational. The past is not the present and he's very different from his beginnings. Speaking of leaders, Needle is able to speak her mind, if something like this did happen, she would be able to put him in his place and tell him to move on, similar to how she did in BFB with Firey and Leafys arguing, and same with Gaty! However, most of her interactions with him are negative, but arguably, most of them do have to do with BFDIA, she would be seeing this from an outside view and possibly confront Coiny about his attachment to that previous season (though narratively, Needle would be a better pick for that role considering their past, Gaty would be better to further the conflict and cause him to realize that there is an issue). There could be a rift between the characters in the team, similar to Bleh, but not as unattached from reality that book caused her team to be. The conflict could affect the teams overall performance, especially with so many characters who fit the leader role, it would cause no single direction that challenges go, many of the duos/groups splitting off to do their own thing. There's many ideas and directions, and nobody cooperating. Once Gaty, who was on a team with conflict previously, and possibly Donut, someone who is able to keep his team together, they realize they cannot function as a team if this keeps on going. They'd be the characters to cause the other characters to resolve the conflict and ultimately have the arc come to a close.... and this is just a single idea! The team overall has so much potential and wasn't used despite there being so much going on for all the characters! They aren't a team that did nothing, but a team that was forgotten about.

I will say- as much as companions being "too nice" is a non-issue for me what is a bit of an issue is how... clean and toothless some factions feel. And like yeah, the Crows and Lords of Fortune are obvious examples of how the game managed to make both murder and stealing ethical, locally sourced and all that good stuff. But also- for how much people talk about how bad Minrathous is... considering any time there is a mention of something bad like slavery it's always only the Venatori doing it... it feels like whole of Tevinter got defanged a little bit and that also means Shadow Dragons and the values they represent within Tevinter don't stand out as much (which is not really helped by the fact Viper, their leader, is an Altus). Or Gray Wardens who were supposed to have a lot more political power in the Anderfels which there is no way under the sun someone wouldn't have a problem with.

It's honestly a little bit bewildering to me that the only factions that Rook can have any sort of mixed opinions on that they state out loud is sort of the Mourn Watch- even then it's mostly just the one "!!!- I find dead creepy!" Dialogue option over and over. But at least it's there. I can't really be vocally uncomfortable with the Crows that much, or Lords of Fortune or Gray Wardens.

This isn't a big criticsm but I do wish that there was a bit more done with the fact Rook HAS to work with theese people. They may not like it. They may not support their methods. But they need them. It would be a small but effective way to let the players flesh out a little bit more who Rook is as a person and what their morals are.

The game talks a lot about having to make though choices when you are a leader and I would love to see that reflected in factions we have to ally with. And how they also have to make some though calls, ones that Rook may not approve of or like very much.

hot take time, but i actually think that conclusion of "La Volpe think is Machiavelli is a traitor" storyline is... underwhelming

don't get me wrong, the "plot twist" that a man who is remembered in history as a father of "end justifies the means" philosophy is in fact not a traitor is hella interesting

i just think that the fact that all of this end with Ezio basically saying "why can't we be friends?" and everyone just... forgets about the fact that if not Ezio, Volpe would just kill Niccolo

also i don't think that a man like Machiavelli would just shrug it off, even if Volpe is an ally

Do you think Kes' ability to pick up on things so quickly is linked to her being an Ocampa? Like, since she's 2~ years old in canon (and has distinct memories of her father) I imagine her species doesn't spend much time as children and I wouldn't imagine they'd have formal schools (like entire buildings for schooling) and would instead learn from like, primarily parents or other elders. In that case learning things very quickly would be extremely beneficial for their survival. Kes: Oh yes, childhood...what a lovely few days~ Kes was a baby like for a day and then the next day she was up and ready to learn. Kes meets Naomi and every day that passes she becomes more and more amazed that she's still a baby. Wow! It's been like two months and she still can't do anything?? The doctor told her it was normal but wow. What I'm saying is they should have had Kes as a jack-of-all-trades character who could slide into pretty much any of the teams on Voyager. The Doc misses her when she's not in sickbay though!

it's so tragic that doing all of that solving for umineko doesn't actually turn us into murder mystery geniuses 💔 i didn't understand if you were reading the manga or the book? i don't think it's obvious in the book but the first thing i thought after finishing it was "how are they going to deal with this culprit situation in a visual medium without giving it away immediately". i only read the first volume of the manga so far but it's a big lmao?? and yet i'm 100% certain i would also not See it if i hadn't read the book first, god bless
