—Inspiration struck me last night, thus I have begun writing a sequel for That's The Way We Get By—

Carlos drops the conversation in favor of hightailing it into the dining room to intercept Charlie who is on a full speed tear through the living room on a collision course towards Lou Two’s tank. He darts into her path and grabs the back of her shirt right before she can make contact.

“Careful,” he says coolly, easily catching her about the waist and lifting her up so she can look at the lizard from a safe distance. “Lou Two’s a nervous little guy so we hafta be really careful with him. We can look but we can’t touch.”

“Uncle TK lets me touch him,” she announces gleefully.

Damn four-year-olds and their non-existent filters.

“Does he?” Carlos asks, cutting a sharp look back in TK’s direction. “I’m sure your daddy will have some words to say about that.”

“Uncle TK let me put Lou on his head. I fed him a strawberry,” she continues. “Uncle Carlos? Who’s tummy did Lou come out of?”

“Umm,” Carlos stutters. He sets Charlie on a dining room chair and gives TK a nervous look. “Well, he came out of his mama’s tummy I guess.” He pauses with a pensive look on his face and TK loves him even more for how much thought he’s putting into answering a chaotic four-year-old’s lawlessly illogical questions. “But Lou Two is a reptile, so he actually came out of an egg.”

“Chickens come from eggs!” She replies, throwing her hands up in the air in excitement. “Is Lou Two a chicken?”

“No,” Carlos says, grabbing her hands and shaking them. “He’s a lizard.”

“Why isn’t he a horse?”

“Umm. Because he’s a lizard?”

“Is Uncle TK gonna have a baby in his tummy?” She asks, turning back to look at Lou Two again.

“He’s gonna talk your ear off for an hour. So I’ll keep it short. There’s really no one else like her. She’s got it all, looks, humor, strength, ass–”

“Wait sorry did you say ‘sass’ or ‘ass’ at the end there?”

“Both,” Bakugo smirks.

“Kirishima, are you with us?”

“Huh–oh sorry! I started thinking about her and got distracted ha ha.”

“Does that ever happen when you two are on patrol or fighting a villain?”

“For who?”

“Would you care to elaborate? When did this happen? Give us details!”

“It happened to me while I was patrolling. Was supposed to be walking around the Nakagin Capsule Tower but I saw a little girl dressed in a sunflower dress and I couldn’t help but think of Marquie, or rather a future with her. Found myself subconsciously walking to the flower shop four blocks down to buy her some flowers for when I returned home to her.”

“Aww did some baby making happen that night?”

“None of your damn business,” he replied. Meanwhile Kirishima had discreetly nodded his head yes.

“And what about you Kirishima?”

“For me, it happened when I was fighting that one ice villain. That battle took place in the mall, if you remember, and I happened to see a lingerie ad. Now those don’t affect me but then I started thinking about Marquie in that–I know, so not manly– but next thing I knew I was frozen in a block of ice.”

“You’re missing the best part of the story.”

“What part?”

“When they found him in the ice block, he still had an erection.”

Idk if I wanna fully lore dump but I'll try to explain it briefly below

The Long-armed Gibbon wanted to make something of her own, to finally boost her standing among celestials and become known like the Six-eared Macaque and Stone Monkey. Using her ability to seize the sun and moon, she stole a drop of one and the ribbon of another. The light she harvested from the moon however was tainted, for the spot where the light was clearest was also a ravine where demons from the underworld could seep through and become lost in the dark. Her creation showed this impurity by taking on resemblance to a demon, blue skin, horns, red eyes, and tusks. Over years she tried to fix the creature, "Spider monkey", effectively nameless, but eventually she abandoned the project. Skipping ahead of a lot of trauma (womp womp) Spider monkey now lives in the city, trying to align to new styles. They're a scammer and a thief, for the hell of it and because they think the world owes them for the pain they've endured. Spider monkeys powers are basically a mimick of the Long-armed Gibbon's, just weaker. Because of being able to stop the sun/moon in place they eventually get recruited by LBD to cast the area around her fortress a forever night. But when they become a liability they are possessed until she's defeated

hiiii acesabo anon :D! thanks for stopping by :3 im not super sure? im bad at picking favorite anythings really & i read a looooooot of fic lol. BUT. (and sorry in advance for how long this gets. under the readmore because i have no ability to talk less than a million words)

im pretty partial to outsider pov fics with more heavy worldbuilding/background building (and/or oc centric fics.) of course all dependent on quality but yk. and of course im a massive sucker for a (genderbend or not) lesbian modern au fic. it doesnt even have to be good for me to enjoy it. but im not sure that counts as a trope. oh and polyship fics but thats more tricky.

less conventional fanfic formatting stuff like uhh. screenplay scripts, letters, audio transcripts, etc. all rlly good.

fics that focus super heavily on like. a specific area of work/production are sooooo good. i.e. like.. ive read a fic that spent easily 50k/half the fic just talking about fiber & fabric production & the economic impact of certain developments involved and i LOVED it. it was as dry as a textbook + i didnt really care abt the relationship stuff accompanying it. and yet. i read all 100~k of it. tbh a fic doesnt actually have to say THAT much on whatever topic as long as its very clear the author has a deep passion for it & cant help but include a bunch of details abt it. instant elevation. again tho thats not really a trope?

^related to the above historical fanfic is SO SO SO GOOD. doesnt matter when or where the source material takes place if you put enough love research and effort into the setting to make it feel uniquely like that setting i am hopelessly endeared. which i guess is just to say i really like worldbuilding but . whatever.
