Applied and Submitted

We did an online application and once submitted online, we need to send all our supporting documents to the address given which was in Sheffield. The documents need to be sent within 15 days of online submission or the application will get rejected!

However, that was last year and I heard the online application has changed now where you need to upload everything online. Unfortunately, I don't have the experienced for that.

I will still share briefly what I did with my supporting documents to give you some ideas on what to expect.

First of all, I organised all my docs into categories as I mentioned in my earlier post. I made a checklist and table of content. Having a list really helps to keep things in order. I ensure to put into a plastic cover and wrote on a sticky note what is in it for each of the plastic. For the sticky note, make sure you paste it in the inside of the plastic so it won't fall off. This means, you need to write on the page where it will sticks so the words are visible from the outside without need it to take the sticky notes out.

I also put all my passports and pictures in a plastic cover. This to ensure everything is in order. I also submitted a table of content with my supporting documents. I believe it will help the officer to go through it faster and understand my documents better as everyone have their own way and circumstances.

I submitted 2 sets, one is original and the other one is copied. However, there is no need to submit any copies. I wasn’t sure back then. Oh well better be safe than sorry!

Since the documents need to be submitted within 15 days, we choose to use special delivery with tracking. I rather pay more than take the risk of losing any documents!

By now, you should already know that visa cost you tonnes of money. All your savings, all your hard work, tears and sweat! So don’t be stingy in using a super special delivery! I also paid for a return delivery to be track and signed. Again, not worth the risk to lose anything by now!

Right, so by now all sorted, organized and packed. Send it to Sheffield with full of hope and positivity. The waiting game began. Waited for 6 weeks with calm and confident. (i was anxious and angst most of the time).

All the efforts and waiting worth it after all. I was granted a 30 months spouse/partner visa. Which I need to renew again for another 30 months as this visa is a 5 years route to a settlement visa. Good luck guys. You can do it!! Don’t give up!
