UFC 266: Volkanovski vs Ortega Fight Card, Date, Odds, Location, Rumors, Complete guide and Live Stream

There are two titles fights on the UFC 266 main card, as well as the return of one the sport's most beloved fighters for a rematch that has been 17 years in the making. The main event features a clash between coaches from "The Ultimate Fighter", with Alexander Volkanovski defending the featherweight title against Brian Ortega.

Volkanovski reclaimed the featherweight title from Max Holloway and won it back when he made a controversial split decision during the rematch. He currently has a 19-fight winning streak. After losing the title match against Holloway, Ortega was forced to withdraw. However, he returned to fight this October and won an impressive victory over Chan Sung Jung. This gave him the chance to win a title shot.

Valentina Shevchenko will defend the flyweight title against Lauren Murphy in the co-main event. Shevchenko has lost only one UFC fight to Amanda Nunes, and she has five title defenses. Murphy will be receiving her first UFC title shot after a winning streak of five fights.

Notable, Nick Diaz will be back in action against Robbie Lawler for the first time since 2015. Diaz was suspended for failing to pass a drug test for marijuana metabolites following his fight with Anderson Silva. However, a return from the Octagon is long anticipated. Lawler has been losing four fights but is still a popular attraction. They met in 2004 when Diaz scored a knockout at UFC 47 in an exciting fight.

UFC 273 live results and analysis: Alexander Volkanovski vs. Chan Sung Jung

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Chan Sung Jung knows this might be his last chance.

"The Korean Zombie" first challenged for the UFC featherweight title in 2013. On Saturday, Jung will be back with a chance at the belt against champion Alexander Volkanovski in the main event of UFC 273 at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena.

ESPN ranks Volkanovski as the No. 4 pound-for-pound fighter. At featherweight, Volkanovski is ranked No. 1 and Jung is No. 9. Max Holloway, whom Volkanovski has defeated twice in title fights, was the originally scheduled opponent for Volkanovski before withdrawing because of injury.

Volkanovski (23-1) has won 10 straight to start his UFC career and 20 in a row overall. The Australia-born fighter defended his title against Brian Ortega via unanimous decision at UFC 266 last September and now has two successful title defenses. Volkanovski, 33, beat Holloway to win the belt at UFC 245 in December 2019.

Jung (17-6) has won three of his past four. The South Korea-born fighter is coming off a unanimous decision win over Dan Ige last June. Jung, 35, will pass Dan Henderson on Saturday as the UFC fighter with the most time between title fights. Aldo beat Jung at UFC 163 on Aug. 3, 2013.

In the co-main event, Aljamain Sterling and Petr Yan will unify the UFC bantamweight title. Sterling won the title via disqualification when Yan hit him with an illegal knee at UFC 259 in March 2021. Yan is the interim champion, following a win over Cory Sandhagen at UFC 267 last October.

Sterling (20-3), a 32-year-old from New York, has won six straight. Yan (16-2), a 29-year-old from Russia who trains in Thailand, is ESPN's No. 6-ranked pound-for-pound fighter. At bantamweight, Yan and Sterling are ranked Nos. 1 and 2, respectively.

Also on the card, former title challenger Gilbert Burns and red-hot, undefeated prospect Khamzat Chimaev will meet in what could be a welterweight title eliminator. Plus, Mackenzie Dern will face Tecia Torres in a women's strawweight contender matchup, top prospect Ian Garry will meet Darian Weeks, and Aspen Ladd and Raquel Pennington will face off in a women's bantamweight contender bout.

The UFC returns to Madison Square Garden in New York City for a loaded UFC 268 that will be headlined by a grudge match between UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and rival Colby Covington.

The card will also featured a UFC women’s strawweight title bout between champion Rose Namajunas and former titleholder Weili Zhang as well as a mouth-watering lightweight battle that is sure to provide fireworks between Justin Gaethje and Michael Chandler.

Usman returns to action with a familiar face across the Octagon in Covington. The last time these two met, it was one of the most exciting welterweight title fights in recent memory that saw Usman emerge victorious with a fifth-round stoppage. But the bad blood hasn’t subsided between the two and they’ll meet again to put an end to their rivalry once and for all.

The champion has been on a tear as of late with knockouts in three of his last four fights. He viciously knocked out Jorge Masvidal in his last outing and aims to finish Covington a second time in NYC. Covington has only had one fight since losing to Usman and thoroughly dominated Tyron Woodley with a fifth-round stoppage.

Both promise to finish what they started on November 6.
