At work, I have 3 articles posted on my desk - nothing more. Two are of NBA players - Stephen Curry and Chris Paul. The remaining article, however, is about a young lady from the University of British Columbia. During her 2nd year of University, she was diagnosed with skin cancer, but continued to pursue her studies until completion. She managed to graduate from an intensive, science-based program and received a special commencement ceremony in her hospital room several days before she passed. 

At first, it took me a while to comprehend what she did. I figured I would have spent every last dime on crazy trips around the world. But after it sunk in, it made me realize she achieved her dreams - she wanted to be a scientist, and she was. Furthermore, when I placed myself in that scenario, I recognized I was far from realizing mine. In fact, I had digressed so much in regards to my anticipated progress. I had spent my University years so preoccupied with pursuing a life that couldn't make me happy; it was a strange, discomforting realization. 

I came across the article during my first week of "real" employment, but I vowed to appreciate the lesson she taught me and work towards leaving a legacy of my own. Whether I was 85 or 25, I wanted to be at peace with my life, just like Camille Gregory.

UBCON XXIV 2013

I really need to learn to edit photos and upload them at a more timely manner. And keep in mind my own schedule when it comes to this sort of stuff. BUT I DIGRESS.

Help please

There was a guy there today (Sunday) who looked like shaggy and was playing ninja by the lounge and art room with me and he was awesome. We hugged forever and then the Con was ending so we had to go. I was Dave and at the end he gave me a random basket. I want to find him so please tell me if you know him. This sounds really stupid in my head.
