Philautia 4, Which of your OC's qualities makes them the most proud? Do they think more people should be like them in this regard? Or do they quite like being rare in possessing it?

Georgie is most proud of his musical skill, his voice and his fiddle his main instruments. He is a strong beliver that there is no true thing as a 'bad voice' just an untrained one, and delights in making people fall in love with their own singing voices, surprised by how great they can sound. His talent with animals, especially those touched by magic or fey and indeed many fay creatures themselves, is one he loves for its rarity, and frankly he doesn't know how to share it. Start abandoning babies in fey creature infested woods perhaps but thats just cruel

Celia:

Eros 1, Is your OC romantic in the traditional sense? Do they enjoy giving or receiving gifts of flowers or confectionary? Or are there other courtship traditions from their culture of origin that are important to them?

While Celia is on the aromantic spectrum and has a complex relationship with romantic feelings, She greatly enjoys being traditionally romantic and doing gestures like flowers and cooking, however there are few people she would embarrass herself do do overtly romantic things like flowers, and even then she prefers giving highly personal gifts and spending quality time.

Eros 5, How closely is their opinion of their own beauty (or lack thereof) linked to their confidence? Do they see themselves as more or less worthy of love or sex based on how attractive they feel?

Agape 2, Does your OC feel a spiritual connection to the world around them? Do they have a particular love for nature or living things?

Tesoro was taught from a young age that if you wanted something you took it, and if you where to weak to defend yourself you deserved what you got. While Muro goes from hyperempathy to having to ignore the humanity in people, Tesoro quickly learned to view the world as a chess board and all people its pieces to manipulate or be manipulated by. He can be spiritual, praying and performing little rituals like knocking on wood, but he knows that his apathy sets him apart from what around him. He has an appreciation for nature, often using it as a reference for his occasional drawings [he was once an art student, despite his fathers wishes, but its an indulgence now] but prefers the urban jungle, his home.

1. What’s the lie your character says most often?

"I'm fine"/"It doesn't matter."/"It's done." – Valentine does her best to bury uncomfortable things down and refuse to think about them until everything becomes untenable and she explodes.

11. If someone was impersonating them, what would friends / family ask or do to tell the difference?

Mimicking her tone of voice and what she would do or say might not be that difficult, but I think the easiest way for someone close to Valentine to tell if she's being impersonated is to watch her body language or how she reacts to being touched. She's got several gestures/stims/restless movements that she does when she's in certain kinds of moods- while she restrains herself in the office, in casual situations she can be pretty touch-feely and I think it'd be pretty hard for someone to mimic the reaction time and intensity of her body language without a lot of study.

Her suddenly being able to make regular eye contact in casual conversation would also be pretty unnerving.

23. What do they feel guilty for that the other person(s) doesn’t / don’t even remember?

Most of the things Valentine feels guilty for the other person definitely remembers, so this is kind of a hard one lol.

She has a compulsion to assign herself as invisible caretaker for people she cares about– quietly taking care of things or smoothing problems or making sure they're eating and rested and comfortable. Sometimes she doesn't do that and then feels guilty after for having looked out for herself over someone else.

Really the only example I can think of I've actually written is about cornbread lmao:

The bundle turned out to contain two thick slices of cornbread, cold but freshly cut. Goro was doubtful of this new foodstuff, and she was too hungry to argue when he offered her his share.

Goro’s face was a mask as he brought up and accepted the file transfer. Nothing he was thinking could be good– she hated him a little, for not being surprised at all, or even angry. He locked eyes with her briefly, through the translucency of his interface, the contact like a knife in her chest, and then nodded. It was gentle, nonjudgmental, and for some reason her first thought was to feel guilty she had taken his breakfast.

That sequence of events where it's like: for once, she lets someone else do something for her -> she gets emotional for various reasons -> that person is nice to her again -> guilt and regret for not having been the one doing the favor -> now she's "in debt" in a social way

What this says about her priorities and her upbringing is left as an exercise to the reader lol.

11 - what do you consider to be romance?

hmm.. i'd say the person you can be your most genuine self with. i'm aro but whenever i have the thought "oh.. i'd love to spend the rest of my years at your side" its always towards someone i dont have to guard or filter myself around. there's such a sense of security and home when im with people where i can say anything and everything that comes to mind and they will respond in kind. that level of comfort is the closest I've come to having romantic feelings..... and thus i believe that sense of belonging would be the ideal foundation for romance.

in media, my favourite ships are always of people who just get each other in a way that nobody else does. that deep sense of understanding, of knowing the other person, is always so delicious.

ooooh definitely chogakusei! he's a cover artist who covers a lot of vocaloid songs, and i absolutely adore his voice. im literally obsessed his technique is so good, he has such a wide range, and he often adds this delicious growl when he sings and UGHHHHHH genuinely hes so talented. because he's an utaite, he doesnt reveal a lot about himself, but the little glimpses i get through his videos and posts make me think he's also just a very cool and chill person. (a bit parasocial, i knowww) but he wears fake nails and does cool makeup for a lot of his video thumbnails so im just like :0 so cool :000

i literally love all of his covers so much but if i had to recommend a few they'd probably be lagtrain, aishite aishite aishite, white happy, bug, uminaoshi, and toupea christmas 2022. he's also put out some original songs! chojugiga is the most recent (and was a collab with nilfruits) and it goes SO HARDDD omg.

2) the first scene i put down was max after his phone call with his dad, when he gets angry with daniel! it just came to me like a prophetic vision.... i thought it would be really interesting first of all the closeness of max-jos in this setting where jos would be his boss-dad and how like... i think being in close high stress proximity to anyone you have a slightly bad relationship with will be explosive, and how that impacts not only you but the people around you (daniel) was something i rlly wanted to explore. and like, daniel having to balance caring abt max, and the fact that he's also in a not-so-good headspace... very compelling!

11) what i like best about the fic... i rlly like the way that succession has this really sharp turnaround from people being horrible, unethical and mean to each other to a surprising heartwarming moment, and i wanted to capture that vibe (hopefully) and just kind of being able to examine them as characters in this au. i think that it gives a lot of room to be like... you can like and root for and dislike and critique all at once, and for me being able to write that is fun! i love to be a hater and lover... layers etc. etc. also being able to write the word fuck and dickhead and cuck but like in their voices i just find it fun, toilet humour <3

motion: How does your OC move? How does their clothing help or hinder their range of motion? Are they flexible, coordinated, clumsy?

Rametta moves very purposely, choosing to move like a bubbly spoilt little sister, a wise leader or an apex predator. Generally she moves with purpose and flare, she can be very dramatic and emotive. Her clothing is often fitting close to her body, but some of her choices of dresses may have skirts that hinder her movements but that's a choice she gas to weigh up. She likes strappy dresses as it gives her shoulders full range of motion. She's somewhat flexible but very coordinated

canvas: Does your OC have any scars, piercings, tattoos, or other markings? Do they display or cover them up at all?

i went over Muros Tattoos here and this is his scars ref post w explanations! Counting his weird golden hair and eyes as markings, he usually proudly displays them but when he wants to avoid notice he dyes his hair & eyebrows dark brown and puts on brown mascara and sunglasses. Also he has almost fullbody stretch marks! He grew quickly, I've called it bulking up but but really it's a delayed puberty/finally growing which means he went from 5 ft 4 to 6 ft 4 in a year or two of growth spurts, and towards the end of that started putting on muscle so yeah his skin was very stressed out for a few years.

road: What does your OC wear while traveling? Do they have high-quality equipment, or are they making do? What does their gear look like?

For solo traveling Mura wears a cloak and a version of her outfit made of undyed fibers for traveling alone, to draw less attention. She has high quality tools like a flint and steel and knives and good quality string, and her cloak is weatherproofed enough to work as a canvas with the string and some trees. she keeps to a small satchel but stores most of her high quality stuff in her breaches, with the most important things like documents and identification in special sleeves in her corset. If shes traveling large distances or is able to she will use a horse and allow herself more room for luxuries like a proper tent and more food. contrary to her appearance, she is more than used to sleeping rough and traversing the wild, but like a sane person she does prefer to travel by caravan or carriage, just often doesn't because of the trails it leaves behind.

makeup: Does your OC wear makeup? How often? What kind? Why do they wear makeup, and do they like it?

Rametta pre transition notoriously always wore black eyeshadow and lipstick, in hindsight it wasn't just to make it so people could tell her and her brother apart. After she socially transitions she favors dark greeny blues and more mature/less babys first punk makeup, but her dark lipstick is one of her iconic bits of makeup [Shes 100% emulating Muro] I will admit i know v little about like. foundation. But for special events she wears a full face of makeup and usually she wears a decent amount, she enjoys it, finding it an opportunity for self expression. She doesn't massively care about softening her face to look 'more like a woman' because fuck those people and she knows plenty of women she looks like [Shes also on Estrogen & Progesterone enviously quickly after she socially transitions thanks to Conficcare which deals with most of her dysphoria & she transitioned pretty openly so passing is like. least of her priorities]

:3 riza is only half vampire(dhampir?) because berthold was human... he was a retired hunter using riza as experiment. riza was taught she could help people like this, so she let her father do whatever he needed. at some point tragedy happens and riza finally learns berthold only wanted to use her mother to have her since the beginning, and what he did to her after they had riza so she kills him then flees :-)

roy was berthold's student, and he never knew where the blood samples he had came from. when he learns his master was killed by a vampire and his daughter was never found, he decided to become a hunter(when before he only wanted to study to find a cure for vampirism) and get revenge _(:3 」∠)_

Time’s actually like 32 and is just really committed to the bit of being ancient

Sky is horrific at making new friends. he grew up with the same small group of people, so he never learned how to make friends with complete strangers because there simply wasn’t the need to. so, when he first starts traveling with the chain, he makes little wooden charms for them because he isn’t entirely sure how else to get close with them. Zelda always enjoyed his woodcarvings, so maybe they will too??

as a result, the entire chain has little trinkets made by Sky. on Legend’s bag there’s charms hanging off the straps, and Twilight wears his as necklaces (both because it looks cool as fuck and it helps the shadow crystal stand out less). yes Wind has specifically commissioned him to make something for Aryll

yeah yeah bunny Legend but consider: the mermaid suit (which I like to think is more of a curse bc get fished pink man <3) giving him some marine animal qualities as well. no matter what tho that bitch is an Ariel kinnie, they’re collecting all the shiny shit they can find

Sky is obsessed with doing puzzles the Right and Proper way, meanwhile Wild cheeses absolutely everything he can

the witches in Legend’s era adore him. Grandma Syrup dotes on him, Maple is like a teasing older sister, and Irene is like a teasing younger sister. this is where he learned most of his magic skills from, and he takes all potentially enchanted or cursed items to them to check out. he’ll never admit it, but Legend finds lots of comfort in all of them, as they’re one of the few people who’ve stayed in his life this long.

Wild’s a pretty good medic!! during his adventure, he very quickly realized how dangerous infection is, so they learned about a lot of home remedies and medicinal herbs, as well as how to tend to a wound from other travelers at stables and inns. he didn’t really get a choice in learning, considering how he probably got stung or bit by painful insects or accidentally brushed up against painful plants a lot during the early days of their adventure, and thus showed up to stables covered in rashes and hives and such, causing every decent person in the area to flock to them and try to help. their Hyrule is very sweet, okay?

they’re not the only one who’s well acquainted with medicinal herbs, though! while I think all of them would have a basic understanding, Time, Hyrule, Warriors, and Wind would know a lot. dw i’m elaborating

Time quite literally grew up in the forest, was raised by a tree, and had actual forest spirits for siblings—he knows his plants. he and Saria would peel willow bark and collect dandelions together

I like to think that Hyrule being half-fae makes him very sensitive to all magic-based auras, including that of plants, so they’re very good at picking out the healing herbs, even if they’re not quite sure what they’re called

listen ok hear me out about Warriors. young Time was appalled that he knew jackshit about nature and forcefully taught him. also, before modern medicine, medicinal plants were used all the fucking time on the battle field. yarrow, an herb that stops bleeding and prevents infection, is called soldiers’ woundwort because of this. i mention this because he was probably concerned about the health and safety of his troops, so he learned what the medics were doing and using.

Wind grew up on a small, tight-knit island, realistically they would’ve had to have learned how to use the things around them to their fullest advantage. that being said, his knowledge is sort of useless outside of his own era, aside from what he was taught in the war. ok i’m done talking about medicinal herbs now i promise sorry it’s a hobby of mine ahhsjdka

Legend’s terrified of dogs. in Link’s Awakening, the dogs are literally balls on chains with huge mouths full of sharp teeth (basically just Chain Chomps). if you want to get angsty with it: it comes from guard dogs being sent after him on his first adventure. he became a lot less scared to more he spent time with BowBow (the ball and chain dog) but, when he woke up, he got the belief that he could only be safe around a dog in his dreams. he’s pretty damn uncomfortable around Wolfie at first, but after lots of time and learning to trust Twilight, he’s able to slowly overcome his fear. sort of. mostly just with Wolfie. he still hates staying at stables in Wild’s Hyrule.

if Wild doesn’t want to explain/source something he’ll just say it came to him via divine intervention. Sky believes it every single time

I was thinking about Legend’s story a while ago and realized it was kind of similar to Joan of Arc’s so take that as you will. idk if this even counts as a headcanon but i’m putting it here

Warriors and Twilight are really close friends because they both understand the struggles of wrangling dirt worshipping nature freaks. anytime Twilight (lovingly) complains about Wild, Wars will counter with whatever asinine feral child antics young Time got up to and suddenly Twi will feel very blessed and lucky

whenever Four sees someone with their hair in a high ponytail he subconsciously thinks they’re very smart and respectable because Dot always wears her hair in a high ponytail

Hyrule is completely fine with not sleeping on a bedroll. they like the dirt, actually. let them sleep in the dirt.

Legend uses apples in his red potions, both to increase their potency and to make them taste better. he also learned how to enchant apples to be healing on their own so sometimes when someone’s hurt he’ll just shove an apple in their face

uhh so ik this is a lot but this isn’t even close to of all my headcanons so yeah there’s that lmao
