Working on a review.of Atomic Time of Monsters Volume 2

I ...am going to be more scathing on the final chapter.than most fans probably.

But I am only harsh out of love.

The monster parts are great, and my issues with them sometimes going away on re-reading. 

But the human and reptodie parts...seem to contradict a lot of the themes and such building up. (and a conversation  on pg 244 gets repeated on 254) 

Still...that ending sticks the landing even after almost swerving off a cliff there, regaining my love with only 3 paragraphs. 

Lerna comes off unintentionally as a petty monster and the other characters feel out of character.

It feels like one of the dumber jokes from superhero movie. I had flashbacks to Superman making out with Louis lane while people lay trapped under rubble and the pettiness 

I got some thoughts on Grossk.

Maybe its someone who recovered from depression recently , but Grossk saying her people don't deserve to have a voice on whether they live or die is...really awful to me.

Thinking about the Beyonder kaiju

I can't help but wonder if the KT meteor drove a few kaiju up to the survice to be caught by the Beyonders but I doubt they got many and those able to be captured would likely be unimpressive in order to be caught without expending a large fleet (the Beyonder army in Vol 2 can justify bringing their kaiju with the official records because they will be used to subjugate the kaiju created on their new Kaiju Factory Planet). Giant Jawless fish and Cambrian types.

Unlike the SAoM version where an unseen Ghidorah homage was earth-borne kaiju. 

Wish I had thought of this during of the past contests,.

OK biggest dissapointment in a new book I love

The martian elders don’t have walkers like Krang from the Teenge Mutant Ninja turtles
