—‘A’ IS FOR AFFECTION (how affectionate are they?) pretty affectionate with his s/o even if he can be awkward sometimes, takes some time getting close to someone again. if you’re in public, he would mainly hold your hand. maybe sneak in a hug or kiss once in a while if he’s feelin’ handsy. when recieving affection, he’s always open towards it. even if it makes him a little embarassed at moments (mainly in public).

—‘E’ IS FOR ENDING (how does breaking up go?) would absolutely try to avoid arguments all he can. depends on the reason why you two are splitting, but he will spill his feelings about the relationship out to you. in his head. he doesn’t enjoy speaking his thoughts very much and just feels it’ll escalate shit. though, he would wish you well.

—‘F’ IS FOR FIANCÉE (how committed are they to you?) puts his commitment to you over anything else. though he claims he is not in a rush to marry you and that it could wait, but at the same time he be talkin’ about baby names and what a dream it would be to marry someone like you.

—‘G’ IS FOR GENTLE (how gentle are they?) he’s gentle on most occasions. his rbf and cold aura can be misleading. the craves your touch and your kisses. however, he can be a little on the rough side. for example, his mental state. it isn’t the best with his dad being dead and being the prowler, but you make it more bearable with just your presence. he can also be on the rougher side by squeezing places he knows only belong to him (neck, thighs, waist, etc.)

—‘H’ IS FOR HUGS (how does their hugging schedule work?) he dont mind them. he just dont like the long ones. makes him uncomfortable in some way. he doesn’t do them that often, but when he does they’re really memorable and soft.

—‘I’ IS FOR I LOVE YOU (how quick do they say i love you?) waits a little long before pulling the big ‘l word’. i wouldnt describe him as head over heels for you, but he’s in love.

—‘J’ IS FOR JEALOUSY (what are they like when they’re jealous?) oh boy, can this man get jealous. like, hella jealous. if someone so much as stare too long at you, he’ll glare at them while bringing you closer towards him. touching you? a line nobody can cross. that shit is a death wish. his mami, not yours.

—‘K’ IS FOR KISSES (how does their kiss schedule work?) hold me back i finna go wild on this one. though you’re probably his first relationship like ever, he didnt know how to kiss at first. as time went on though, his kisses got really passionate and filled with longing. everytime he kisses you, he misses you just a little bit less cause he knows you’re here. you’re here to stay. you’re his. he would kiss you anywhere. your least favorite part? kissed. your favorite part? consider it done, bae. he likes cheek kisses a lot. he doesn’t know why, though. he also really likes looking at your eyes when he’s done kissing you, he likes eye contact in general. if you are avoiding it or simply looking away from him, he’ll snap his fingers in your face and hold your chin as you turn towards him.

—‘L’ IS FOR LITTLE ONES (how are they around kids?) not a fan of kids, they’re too noisy. he’s really awkward with them because he internally just thinks they’re little brats, but he also knows they’re stupid. his kid though? he will adore them so fucking much you might have to separate him.

—‘M’ IS FOR MORNINGS (how do your morning routines go?) he wakes up whenever you wake up. your morning routine is basically his, only that he adds a few more steps to it. those ‘few more steps’ being holding you for a solid five or so minutes before you carry on with your early rising.

—‘N’ IS FOR NIGHTS (how does your night routine go?) much like the mornings, his night routine is similar to yours. except, sometimes you dont even finish the whole thing because he wants your time and attention to himself before he drifts off to sleep.

—‘O’ IS FOR OPEN (when will they become more personal?) probably on the third or fourth date. the first two he would want to know more about you. but, he would drop little things he was interested in too.

—‘P’ IS FOR PATIENCE (how patient are they?) he doesn’t get upset that easily, with you atleast. don’t push him too far with your smart mouth, though. that’s what can really piss him off sometimes.

—‘S’ IS FOR SECURITY (how protective are they?) pretty fuckin’ protective of you. and you love it. sometimes, he would stalk you just to see how you were doing or if you were okay. he just doesn’t want to lose someone again, he hopes you understand.

—‘T’ IS FOR TRY (how much effort do they put into your relationship?) he tries to make an effort into planning dates but those plans often get spoiled by his alter. he will always make it up to you, though. no matter what.

—‘U’ IS FOR UGLY (whats one of their flaws?) lying. he doesnt like to lie to you, but it keeps you safe. it got to the point where he would lie about little things on accident, like taking out the trash.

—‘V’ IS FOR VANITY (how insecure are they about their looks?) not a lot. if you think he looks good, then he looks good. sometimes he wonders how he even managed to pull someone like you.

anyways here's why im excited for foolish in ordem :3 and also why i love him as a roleplayer so much:

listen, we all know what the concept of a 'lore voice' as much as we shower our ccs with praise it is somewhat unavoidable, and foolish has a lore voice too of couuurse. BUT, the man is not just good at rp during pure rp moments, he is excellent at casual in-character conversation. with ccs there is a switch, maybe its just me but i can usually see when a cc slips fully into character. foolish catches me offguard when he will just slip a banger line into conversation. the man is a PHILOSOPHER and you may say 'gary ur talkin abt foolish gamers' i know, but he will take joke questions or joke conversations and turn them into genuinely interesting character morality and philosophy explorations. foolish is the man to go to if you want to see two characters deliberate over whether or not he should take over the island with magical admin capybara's with discord sound effects, or the conversation yesterday, yes bad helped prompted it but gods the way foolish picked up that 'yes and'. he really takes a moment to think and explore <3

geeeee... is it embarrassing to admit that i've been in SO MANY RPCs? (i've been rping on tumblr for 10 years now!!) i wouldn't even know where to begin. i guess i'll talk about one that i've been thinking about! but... i don't know if it can even be CONSIDERED an RPC, because like... my muse was from something so "niche" - that there were NO other RPers for it. and like, i'm not even talking about "oh it's a dead fandom" - like i legit believed there was no other RPers for it EVER. at least, i couldn't find any evidence of it existing. and hell, it only got a few RPers 'cos i managed to get people into it. MOST ppl legit believed this muse was an OC before following LOL.

but i wanna say before revealing what i'm talking about is that i wrote him back in 2018-2019, and liiike oddly enough now it's gained traction. i dunno if it's 'cos smiling friends is so popular and ppl are checking out other [adult swim] content but yeah!! i now notice on twitter, exceptional fanart or posts tend to get 1k likes. and then i notice MORE fanart popping up on tumblr! i even see fanart of mah favorite ship with my former muse! and even my old posts are getting regular notes now! and it's like whaaa?! where were y'all back when i was in the fandom?! like i swear - there were SOME fans, but barely any. i couldn't find ANY fanart to reblog at all. it's frickin wild!

anyway, i wrote bill dickey (and later, who i headcanoned as his twin brother, aaron winkleman) from the eltingville club! which was a comic book making fun of toxic nerd culture in the 90s. many also know it as welcome to eltingville, as sadly, it has a pilot from the early 2000s for [adult swim] that never picked up!

USUALLY when i write muses from unpopular fandoms, i STRUGGLE to get interactions like y'all won't believe. usually it ends with me giving up because i just can't get any mutuals at all. but bill was a special case! ppl ended up LOVING bill despite not knowing about his source material, and i ended up getting a lotta great interactions! i guess because bill is such an entertaining character, it's easy to like him despite how horrible he is! lol! plus as i said, many ppl thought he was my oc at first. XD i did get like 10 people reading it!

because the fandom was gaining traction again... i had CONSIDERED going back to the blog (since i actually still have it up!) buuuut... i also know i am VERY bad at managing more than one (or two) rp blogs at most. so...

like jin & devil, i'd also often write bill & aaron shenanigan posts, they went about the same, too... except probs even louder.

and in this case, there is no "good" one. both bill & aaron were horrible, horrible ppl lmao. (and yes, this is referring to the "area 51" raid if y'all remember that LMAO)

aah just talking about it makes me nostalgic. :') funny enough, this series also screwed over bill because i can't escape bad media that screws over my favorites DUNNO WHY SDFDSNJ. except in this case, it was the ending. hooo boy. i went on long rants about the ending like i would on this blog. like that may make me sound like a hater - but the ending was so BAD, they legit forget a character's name. they legit call one of the MAIN CHARACTERS by a different name. that's how bad & inconsistent it was. (tho it's also worth noting the ending happened after a 10+ hiatus, the creator was clearly done with it and didn't want to bring it back, but only did due to wanting to make a commentary on something that was happening at the time)

now i'm starting to get a lil nostalgic for these guys talkin' about 'em again. :')

Out of all your characters (from games or otherwise), which one do you think is the most like you? In what ways? Was it intentional, or was it an accident you only noticed after the fact?

@undead-potatoes aaaaaa thanks so much for the ask!!! i don't love doing self reflection (i have a hard time in identifying things about myself and often rely on other people to Tell Me Who I Am) but i love talkin about my ocs so this ended up really big

ill pop the majority of this under the cut but here take an unfinished doodle of my first attempt at a fursona in this the year 2023 bc i finally had some insight into What That Might Be for me its a leafy sea dragon bc as a kid i loved dragons and also leafy sea dragons specifically and as an adult i love fish and plants and the colour green ok basics covered here we go

its a really tough one, especially since all my characters have huge parts of me in them (u point to one of my guys and there's a 99% chance they're queer and a 95% chance they're autistic), and the majority of my characters infect me with Their personalities and traits (speech mannerisms especially... i went about 3 years peppering the word gotcha into every other sentence bc of ollwyn. in terms of it being intentional, usually only one or two bits with each character. i try my best to give characters personality traits and interests that differ from my own, or at the very least mix and match bits and pieces.

sometimes i'll try and make characters that are so so different from me but then it backfires because it means that im far more likely to pick up that character's traits (i didn't swear at All in my whole life until i tried making a character outside my comfort zone who Did swear a lot and now fucking look at me). i also don't like doing my Research so going for interests that i don't know a lot about means i don't. know anything about them lmao.

i think it's impossible to have a character that isn't at least Somewhat like you, we draw from our own experiences and ways of seeing the world, after all. i know i put little pieces of myself into every character and it's hard to say if there's any One character that embodies me most.

almost none of my characters really look like me tho

all that being said i've narrowed down my entire list to three of note. all three are dnd or other ttrpg characters bc they're the ones that i find myself having to think most about in terms of how they Think and Feel in any given situation and over time would notice stuff about myself or about them that i didn't realise were related.

i think these days ollwyn wins out personality wise goofy, indignant, lonely, desperate for approval, and loud. they're stubborn and enthusiastic, needs to be centre of attention but doesn't want to take the lead. they don't have many friends but latch onto those they do make. i re-realised my rat dreams because of them. i made em a bard bc i was obsessed with music as an aesthetic.

i made em a half-elf because i didn't wanna be Too out there with character creation (back when i was a terrified lil new rp-er who hadn't touched dnd before and felt i hadn't Earned anything more interesting yet). then magic and stuff happened and they got all the over-the-top design elements i was too nervous to implement initially and even that feels representative of my Own growth in being more Out There with my aesthetics and personality (i.e. completely shutting off my social filter, not toning shit down so much anymore)

oh i know i said none of my characters really look like me but i almost never draw ollwyn with their mouth fully closed and i only realised like years later that it may have been just a mild lil projection of a habit. i got big front teeth and breathing issues and i find it uncomfortable to close my lips Most of the time lmao

my poor unfortunately named aasimar (it was 2018........ i promise...............) takes the cake when it comes to suffering the brunt of my neurodivergence and sensory issues, and represents a significant portion of the judgy parts of myself that i try not to let myself be. strong opinions, blunt, tone issues, big issues with food and touch. comes across as, and often is, very critical. the biggest difference between me and them is that they don't feel bad about those aspects of themself lol

where i spend every moment of my life either desperately concentrating on my wording so as not to come across as rude, or feeling shitty for coming across as blunt/aggressive in tone or phrasing (where 99% of the time i absolutely don't mean it that way im autistic pls im autistic if i wanna be able to get the Right words out the tone doesn't match and vice versa), corona just says what they want or what they think, and if people get offended, that's People's fault for not trying to make more of an effort to understand the way they talk.

sal is my Top Oc Of All Time and as such takes on a lot of random aspects of myself (skin picking, fidgeting, latent anxiety, All of the visual aesthetics i Wish i could pull off, my love of birds, my tendency to Mr Burns Posture my way through life. she's also very very australian), while also inflicting things on me lmao ive learned more about my gender from the years of playing her in her rp campaign than in the rest of my entire life. a lot of her experiences and dynamics with her friends and family reflect a lot of aspects of my own

i only want good things for her and constantly put her through fucking hell

anyway they're all So Much Weirder as people than I can really put on paper and in (relatively) different ways but i just know it all stems from the Who I Am of it all

atm i write for x-men and american horror story. but i've written for other marvel stuff, always sunny, mystery science theater 3000, gotham, stranger things, and even austin powers lmao

the long form fic i mentioned earlier. the one i've spent two years on? as time passes, it feels more and more cringeworthy. as much as i love it, i don't think i'm gonna finish it. which sucks !! i'd love to see it fleshed out !! even if the end result was super lame !!

I'm not trying to be rude when I say this but isn't multiple days of no in character content a bit much? This is supposed to be an rp blog and you've been out of character for the entire week. You should really consider ending the event when you can't do in character stuff...

🛡: favourite build, or party setup?

I was overwhelmed with the mechanics and got into the lazy habit of Casual mode, so not proud of my build skills. In my most recent playthrough I tried to make Siavash a little less useless in melee by giving him higher Str and the azata power Heroic Might, but this is going against my RP instincts – I just don’t picture him coming in swinging? The things that are more in line with my image of him are Skill Focus – Persuasion 😏, Lingering Performance, and Metamagic Heighten with Believe in Yourself. He has Abundant Casting for buffs like haste and blur and Ever Ready for those AOOs.

I stuck with Eldritch Scoundrel for Woljif and gave him all the AOO feats and talents along with two-weapon fighting and improved critical and he’s in there stabbing everything that moves, it’s great. Love that “I didn’t know I had it in me!” moment. I use him for a lot of buff spells so he’s not casting in melee combat.

My party comp is also boring – never go anywhere without Woljif of course, but that’s pretty much true of Seelah, Lann and Daeran too. Mostly the last slot goes to Ember starting in Act V, but before that it varies, with a preference for Regill this time around because he’s hilarious.

Daeran: "If you dressed up a little and scrounged up some saucy impudence, you could be a kept man in some noble's house. Easy work with very little risk. I hear they pay a premium for curls." Woljif: "What's that, sit in a house all day waitin' for the lord or lady to swan in? No way! I may be a cur, but I ain't house-broken!"

(PS in my headcanon his Gran was an anarchist so that spirit runs in the family)

Woljif: "You're just as dumb as you've always been... but I'm not embarrassed to be seen talkin' to you anymore. Actually the opposite, I'm embarrassed I turned my back on you. And now I've got this weird ache inside." Ember: "I'm happy it hurts, that means your heart that froze from loneliness is starting to thaw."

Superb! There’s obviously a special place in my heart for Starward Gaze / the azata theme (it had me sobbing at Threshold), but some of the other mythic path themes are frankly better – angel, demon, aeon… well, I could go on. As I’ve mentioned before the mythic transformation theme still gives me goosebumps after all those listens on repeat. Some of the ambient dungeon music is just awesome too.

Transportation Across Hydaelyn

We start off the game in a carriage but, even if you spent 36USD to have your own, and are obnoxious enough to use it everywhere, (it's a 4 person mount. it's not small) all we got is our own two feet. At this point if you want to get anywhere in a hurry you gotta make liberal use of the sprint button and just deal with the cool down

Fun Fact: The game used to have TP which was max 1000 and was used like MP but for all physical damage classes. And Sprint. which, upon use, completely deplete your TP. If you did physical damage and accidentally hit sprint you were useless for the next, like, 30s.

The first true method of transportation you have access to is Teleportation

Aetherytes & Teleportation

Now, you're given a basic run down in your starter city when you first attune and these are pretty straight forward: Attune to the big crystal and then when you are Somewhere Else you can pay gil to now instead be There. Easy peezy lemon squeezy and all that.

What I'm going to tell you about are these options:

You can only visit other servers from major cities so I'll cover that last. In order:

Set Home Point: This is your One Free Teleport with a 900 second (15 minute) cool down between uses and also the place you return to upon death in the field. The game will automatically set this as your starter city when you attune to it. It can be helpful to some to change it as you move through story while helpful to others to Leave It to one spot. Whatever works best for you just don't forget Return exists!

Register Favored Destination: Everyone gets 3 of these without needing to do or pay anything extra. Registering a destination makes the teleport half price. This gets very handy as story goes on and the world gets bigger and TPs much more expensive. (whines in 1200 gil.) If you find yourself returning to a destination a lot, it's probably a good idea to mark it a favorite. All favorites will have a star next to this option once chosen and they will also have a star next to them in the teleport list with the reduced price listed.

Register Free Destination: You get this for having the One Time Password. A neat little reward to encourage extra safety but it does mean that if you're too lazy (or in too much pain, or too tired or-) to grab your phone when logging in it won't be free while you're in game for that session. (I do believe. Correct me if i'm wrong, anyone who knows.)

Now everyone's favorite: visiting other servers. This is still a pretty new feature! It does what it says on the tin. Say you have friends who also play the game but they're on another server you can use the aetheryte in any major city to hop on over to visit them, so long as you're on the same data center. You can visit other data centers, however that's different.

With world visit you can buy things off the market, run partied or solo content, and trade between players. You can not access retainers, send or receive mail, access FCs, non-cross world Linkshells, Housing, Eternal Bonding or any Gold Saucer Tournaments. It's meant for just saying hi and running things with friends or RP, (or for you and your gf to trade things for alts on other worlds), not for you to move in. If you want to do that you're looking for world transfers, not visits.

After teleporting, at level 10 you unlock chocobo porters!

Chocobo Porters

All of the chocobo keeps in A Real Reborn are dressed like this regardless of race. In order to port somewhere you have to have talked to the porter there to register your name in their books. You can generally get at least one settlement over and/or to the center major city with these- like most if not all porters in the Shroud go to Gridania, for example. They are actually quite cheap and they're a much quicker way to transport yourself before you unlock mounts yourself. Once you confirm the game will auto run you all the way to your destination. When you choose it from the list it tells you how long the trip will take as well so feel free to scroll tumblr or grab some water or a snack. You'll be dropped somewhere safe to idle.

The Chocobokeeps in the major cities also allow you to rent chocobos! So if you need to go somewhere you haven't gotten the porter yet or there isn't a porter and you don't have mounts yet this is a wonderful way to get there faster than your little legs can carry you. You have a flat rate of 10 minutes for 80gil. You can dismount at any time but you will lose whatever time you have remaining on that trip (it is rare to need 10m to get somewhere unless you afk.)

And then, we get airships, but there's not really anything to say there.

And then, at level 20 msq, we get mounts.

Company Chocobo & other mounts

This bad boy is your military given right to nyoom. Even if you've purchased mounts online or received them by some other means, you cannot access them until you get this bird. Once you have him (as the game insists they're a he) and name him you can use any mount in the game you have the ability to obtain. Here is where you can use that 36USD chocobo carriage.

Most mounts in the online store are account wide so you pay for them once and have them on every character you have now or will ever have in the future. Whether or not that makes them worth the real money investment to you is entirely up to each and every person for each and every mount.

There are, of course, also plenty of other mounts you can earn in the game through achievements and side content and tribe quests and the like. So even if nothing in the shop calls to you, or you can't justify spending more of your cold hard cash on the game (fair and valid) you can still have plenty of fun and pretty (or ugly!) mounts.

Or, you can, of course, stick with your ever loyal chocobo. this bad boy can fit so much customization in him. if you have access to a stable (an FC house or personal house or apartment) you can dye him! You can get him more and different barding, stable not required! you can mix and match barding pieces! Truly, he's the only one by the WoL's side through their whole journey and he gets the fun custom things for it. That, and because they're one of Final Fantasy's Trademark Animals and we all love them. (but really, my main's bird is sky blue and tiny because he's a Lalafell and I love him so so much.)
