Kickstarter Community Goals!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Community goals are finally public AND WE'RE SCREAMING! I had these messages drafted to post today, BUT YOU GUYS PASSED THE THIRD LEVEL JUST AS I WAS ABOUT TO POST SO I HAD TO EDIT IT ahdlkawdh
You guys had us scrambling for the second time this campaign ahsdlkad but congrats!
If you want to unlock the rest, then hear ye hear ye!
For the Kickstarter, we prepared eight levels for you to reach. The numbers we're tracking on both of our socials are for our pinned posts. On Tumblr's end it's this post, and for Twitter it's this one!
With each community goal met, we'll drop the requirements and a clearer description of the reward for the next level.
Since everyone passed the first three (sobbing), the next level is an addition to the phone UI in the game! As of right now, we default you to a theme that's based on the season you got, but in the next build of Keyframes you'll get to pick between that and a special custom KS theme! (And if you guys hit our stretch goal you'd have even more phone customization to pick from!)
In the meantime, hurray for passing the first three levels! The rewards for those was:
Access to your seasonal ringtone you hear in game!
You know that sound you hear when your friends first call you at the start of the game? Well, now you can download it and make it your actual ringtone if you wish!
Here's a link to where you can grab it -> BOOP
2. Release for the Trailer song!
The trailer song made by our composer, HI-T3C, would be available on his Spotify to listen! In addition, backers that grabbed the Full Soundtrack reward will get a copy of the song.
3. We release bloopers and scripts that didn't make it to the final version!
A handful of people were curious about the writing process for Keyframes, and I can only summarize it as a lot of back and forth. There's a fair bit of content that was scrapped because it didn't work anymore and now you get to see it!
Once we organize it for you all, we'll share the link!
Andddd that's that for now! Best of luck!

i have kind of an aimless rant abt the treatment of non-white and/or non-north american by hockey fans.... specifically in the context of the stars ....... saw a thread today commenting on the play of wyjo this playoffs (which. for ranting sake we're gonna handwave away my biases and beliefs on play this playoffs by. anyone really) and it was immediately met with someone pivoting, saying roope's play hasn't been the greatest (okay) and that he's probably not the 1C the stars need to win the c*p (hey what) hey what. hey. what.
and its just....... how quickly hockey fans (general) are able to overlook the potential ehh play of a promising young canadian but the second a european player is not scoring a goal a game its ehh :// maybe we don't need him :/// maybe he's dragging the team down, even ://// as if he is not being expected to do the same things that are probably making wyjo struggle as well, having to play back defensively so often .... but its Different and Worse because he's european :// didnt you know that ://
same phenomenon with jrob too, obvs not um. currently. but the second hes not hitting 100pts a season people are like hmmm maybe he's not even very good.... at all..... and its like hey so he's actually improving Every Other Area of His Game did you notice that. and they go nooo. no goal ): he's bad ): . and i go hey so another left winger that hasn't been the hottest the past few years, jamie, what are your feelings there? and they go oh greatest captain in the league! wouldn't get rid of him for the world! btw we should trade that weird filipino first liner ASAPPPP.
and it's the fact that it's not even just present among The Straight The White The American The Cis Men of hockey but subconsciously present in Gay Woke Hockey Fandom too that's EXHAUSTINGGGG

Compulsion in matters of faith.. NOT FROM ISLAM
CHOICE IS OURS
Audio discussion on this matter:
https://notebooklm.google.com/notebook/52fdb160-d006-4cc7-97ba-577bc8c22716/audio
Proceed further for little bit more clarification >>>>>
This verse establishes Islam’s foundational principle of
1. Religious freedom
2. Emphasizing that truth is accessible to those who seek it voluntarily, without coercion.
3. God gave freedom of choice though The right from wrong is made clear
(2:256) There is no compulsion and coercion in regard to religion.
*285The right thing has been made distinct from the wrong thing: now whoever rejects taghut *286 and believes in Allah has taken a firm support that never gives way.
*285). Din here signifies the belief about God embodied in the above 'Verse of the Throne' and the entire system of life which rests upon it. The verse means that the system of Islam, embracing belief, morals and practical conduct cannot be imposed by compulsion. These are not things to which people can be yoked forcibly.
*286). Literally taghut means anyone who exceeds his legitimate limits. In the Qur'anic terminology, however, it refers to the creature who exceeds the limits of his creatureliness and arrogates to himself godhead and lordship.
There are three stages of man's transgression and rebellion against God.
The first stage is that one acknowledges in principle that obedience to God is right, but disregards it in practice. This is fisq (transgression).
The second stage is that one not only disobeys but also rejects obedience in principle, and thus either refuses to become the subject of anyone at all or adopts someone other than God as the object of service and devotion. This is kufr (infidelity).
The third stage is that one not only rebels against one's Lord but also imposes one's own will (in disregard of the Will of God - Ed.)on God's world and God's creatures. Anyone who reaches such a point is termed taghut and no one can be a true believer in God unless the authority of such a taghut (evil one) is rejected

### **Translation (Tafheem-ul-Quran):**
*"There is no compulsion and coercion in regard to religion. The right thing has been made distinct from the wrong thing: now whoever rejects taghut and believes in Allah has taken a firm support that never gives way."*
---
### **Explanation (Tafseer) by Maududi:**
1. **"No Compulsion in Religion" (لَا إِكْرَاهَ فِي الدِّينِ)**
   - **Din (religion)** here refers to the entire Islamic system of belief, morality, and conduct, as outlined in the preceding "Verse of the Throne" (Ayat al-Kursi, 2:255).
   - Islam cannot be imposed by force because faith requires conviction, not coercion. The truth of Islam is self-evident through its clear proofs, making compulsion unnecessary .
2. **Distinction Between Right and Wrong (قَد تَّبَيَّنَ ٱلرُّشۡدُ مِنَ ٱلۡغَيِّ)**
   - The path of guidance (الرُّشۡدُ) is now clearly separated from misguidance (الۡغَيِّ). This clarity removes any justification for forcing belief, as the truth is accessible to all .
3. **Rejecting Taghut and Believing in Allah (فَمَن يَكۡفُرۡ بِٱلطَّـٰغُوتِ وَيُؤۡمِنۢ بِٱللَّهِ)**
   - **Taghut** refers to false deities, idols, or any power that exceeds its legitimate limits and claims lordship (e.g., tyranny, false ideologies).
   - True faith requires both **rejection of falsehood** and **affirmation of Allah’s sovereignty**. This dual action ensures spiritual and moral integrity .
4. **The "Firmest Handhold" (ٱلۡعُرۡوَةِ ٱلۡوُثۡقَىٰ)**
   - This metaphor describes Islam as an unbreakable rope or support. Whoever grasps it attains stability in faith and life, protected from destruction .
5. **Allah’s Omniscience (وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ)**
   - Allah is fully aware of human intentions and actions. The verse underscores that faith must be sincere, not forced, as Allah knows the heart’s true state .
---
### **Contextual Insights:**
- **Historical Background:** The verse was revealed when some Ansar (Medinan Muslims) tried to compel their children, raised as Jews, to convert. Islam affirmed that faith must be a free choice .
- **Misconceptions Clarified:** Some argue that jihad contradicts this verse, but Islamic scholars clarify that jihad aims to remove oppression (فساد), not force conversion. Non-Muslims under Islamic rule were protected via treaties (e.g., paying jizyah) .

‘Belinda did the same thing tanya did to her’ ‘Belinda turned into the very thing she hated’ GOD FORBID some wealth redistribution happens in this motherfucker and I’m sorry she knew Pornchai for like 5 minutes and never promised him anything AT ALL, nor was the idea to go into business Belindas, how is that the same as Tanya, a multi-millionaire so the power imbalance alone is astronomical, literally promising over and over and over to go into business with Belinda unprovoked and then not following through?

The #Informal Twitter Podfic Exchange has a new home!
Thank you to everyone who participated in our survey! The results and your comments were very enlightening. Because we know y’all like stats, have a bar graph!
Tumblr media
As you can see, the winner was overwhelmingly Tumblr, thus: here we are!
During our discussion as mods, we predicted the frontrunners would probably be Tumblr or Discord, but were leaning towards Discord simply because so many podficcers are on it thanks to Voiceteam and the podfic server. We did NOT expect Tumblr’s commanding lead from the jump.
It appeared like the anti-Discord crowd made up our earliest respondents; after day 1, we were flabbergasted to see Discord in last place, defying all our expectations. As the days went on however, it seems the anti-Bluesky contingent came out in force 😂.
We appreciate everyone who took the time to share their thoughts! We were warmed by how many of you shouted out and affirmed that the things we as mods value about the exchange (the community, remaining publicly visible) were also important to you as participants.
If you're interested in joining us this year, go ahead and follow this account! We're still working on getting everything set up but we're excited for a new beginning!

Command Respect and Offer it in Return
Practical Practices: Command Respect and Offer It in Return
"Can't command respect unless you act like you deserve it." Jenn Bennett
Tumblr media
Let us begin with the assumption that you are an upstanding human, who aims to do well, both by others and yourself. Under these terms, it is fair to say that you do your best to treat others in a way that you, yourself, would like to be treated. Respect is earned, not given. When you hold people accountable and carry yourself in a way that commands respect, than you will either attract it naturally, or let people know that you will except nothing less.
If you allow people to disrespect you, then they will continue to do so. For example, if you allow someone to interrupt you while you are speaking, they will do it again in the same conversation or future ones. Instead, you should remind them that you were speaking, and you would appreciate it if they did not interrupt you again. You have now set clear expectations with that person moving forwards which is important. In the same regard, you must then listen and not interrupt them while they are speaking, in order to establish a sense of mutual respect.
Mutual respect is the foundation of any authentic, and meaningful relationship. Once established, it lays the groundwork for healthy boundaries, equal reciprocation of one another's time and energy, and a general understanding of expectations between both parties. Respect can be shared and honored with those you have just met as well. When you first meet a person, they have no background information, or context to judge your character, outside of your appearance, how you carry yourself, and your initial interaction with them. This is a crucial time, especially if this is a colleague, or someone you will have future interactions with, as you are setting your standards for the relationship. Being your authentic self from the beginning is very important, as it helps you to develop relationships with people that see you and accept you for who you are and what you aspire to be.
People who continue to cross your boundaries, and disrespect you despite your clear expectations, do not deserve your time and energy. You do not need to respond with disrespect yourself; you can simply choose to disengage and spend time with individuals that honor and value your presence. At the end of the day, it is not the quantity, but the quality of relationships in your life that matters, and there is no more important of one than your relationship with yourself. Learn to be happy on your own and surround yourself with people that respect you.
There are so many things in this world that are out of our control. How you carry yourself, what words come out of your mouth, and what you accept from others is within your control. The quicker you learn this, the better off you will be moving forwards. I hoped you enjoyed this post. As always, take care, God bless, and be well.
