my new habit is re-watching shows / movies with sad endings OR a third act breakup, and stopping them during that moment near the end where everything seems fine, before it all falls to shit again

you can pry happy endings from my cold-dead hands. It can be the most heart stopping, gut wrenching fic that has every existed and I will read every drop of it if I get my happy ending. I have had enough painful endings in real life, give me happy in my fantasy world. It can be at the last second, it can be a single sentence, even a single word. Give me all the angst and hurt in the world for 500,000 words, but please give me the comfort I need in the ending. please and thank you.

Feeling empty....

I just finished twenty five twenty one and.... my heart is doing a shit fart rn

I don't usually watch a lot of kdramas, but I've been interested in them more than usual lately, so I continued my journey with this masterpiece. I don't regret it, but my heart hurts so much. I cried for hours in the bathroom thank god my eyes are magical or something, and no one noticed. Imagine taking an interest in someone so much that you're always attracted to them, end up dating, and all that gets ruined by the times and your career. Before they even started dating, I thought that they would last forever, and seeing them being burnt out of their love and support was so emotionally taxing to watch. In the end, I felt like they still had so much potential to stay together, but I've come to accept the ending of the show since the characters are all leading happy lives.

Something else that is tugging at my heart is how they don't come together as a group of five anymore. Yi Jin was like their guardian in the friend group, and now they're all adults, and because of Hee Do and him, their natural friendly and loving attitudes don't exist anymore. The scene with all of them running through the tunnel was enough to fill that void in my heart though so all is well.

This show was almost enough for me to go into a depression about its ending, but I've experienced feelings like this before, so I'm glad I was able to deal with it in a healthy way of expressing my emotions.

Let me tell you, The Promised Neverland + me at age 12 did not age well I'm telling you. no one even knew how heartbroken I was at the mangas ending. ( season 2 ate ass read the manga)

In the end, I can only hope that in another universe or another life, everyone gets what they want and stays with the people they love deeply. This drama opened a world of breakups I've never known before. I usually read or watch things that end up with sunshine and rainbows, but Twenty five twenty one showed me the flavors of youth and how they should be savored before they crumble apart. If I were to ever meet Nam Joo Hyuk or Kim Tae Ri, I'd be deluded and think they're actually Na Hee Do and Back Yi Jin and give them a fat hug, maybe in my dreams though.

If you are new to K dramas I don't know if you should wait or just start with this good-ass show, prepare yourself emotionally to get attached to characters who will feel like your own kids.

Wow, I feel so much better after finishing the show off with some sad edits and that ost by Wonstein that's like a rush of dopamine, but also not so much. I'm not that good of an analyzer so some things I said that might raise eyebrows or something, but yeah.

the way i haven't watched twenty-five twenty-one yet even though i badly want to because i'm super scared! i know the story not only centers around the 2 main leads but also the friend group (which is my favourite trope), but i also am excited to see joohyuk's improvement in acting. i'm aware of what happens and i know how angsty it is but i'm still genuinely scared it will hurt me too much.. i need time

As someone who was completely emotionally wrecked by the ending of Twenty-Five Twenty-One, I can confidently say this K-drama is a masterclass in tugging at your heartstrings and making you question the meaning of life itself. i would like to discuss the coffee situation in the lighthouse.

this is the apparent coffee station in the kitchen. little coffee maker, a couple of unlabeled bottles of additives (i assume), and a bunch of cups including these cute little decorated ones that scream ren faire souvenir

oh and also: two giant open baskets of coffee beans underneath the table. (and a sack of Unidentifiable Brown, but let's ignore that for now because i couldn't get any good pictures of it. it's not the same texture, anyway, so i can't confidently say it is More Coffee.)

that's a lot of coffee beans. that is A Lot Of Coffee Beans for eight people, even if they make 3-4 pots a day. at least one of those pots is for lucanis insomnia purposes, a few cups are for neve to boil into a cognitohazard, and the rest of the team might have a cup or two in the morning, but i don't know enough of their coffee habits to say for certain. 3-4 pots is a generous estimate. so what do they have over 20 pounds of coffee beans for? are they using all of those before they go stale in an open basket? lucanis is a coffee snob, i refuse to believe he's buying all of that if he doesn't think they'll use it while it's still fresh.

But okay. benefit of the doubt here. maybe they've got some stay-fresh ziploc magic on it, and that's a month's supply for a greater amount of coffee per day than my estimates.

but wait. in the pantry. what's that?

oh my god it's an even bigger basket of coffee beans. what are you doing with 50 pounds of coffee beans. you are NOT using all that, this is more coffee than a party of 8 could even try to consume before it went stale in, again, an OPEN CONTAINER. i don't even want to consider whether those sacks next to it might have more, there's no way they could possibly have...

two more. giant baskets. of coffee beans.

there are more baskets of coffee beans in the lighthouse than vegetables. the lighthouse is constantly out of onions because the guy in charge of the shopping spends half the grocery budget on coffee beans. lucanis drinks 6 pots a day and his blood-to-caffeine ratio is 50-50. no wonder spite can smell colors.
