Flag for a united Iraq and Levant (Syria,Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine)
from /r/vexillology Top comment: The purple background is Dark Byzantium Purple (The RGB code is #5d3954, if anyone is intrested). I was going to use Byzantium Purple (RGB code is #702963). But I liked the Dark Byzantium better. The Byzantium purple represents the historical region. With the Byzantium empire ruling over what is Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine. And clashing with the Sassanids for land in modern day Iraq. The Purple also represents the Phoenicians, first to use purple dye. Although their purple would be Tyrian purple (RGB code is #66023C), name coming from the city of Tyre. The crescent and star represents Islam. The majority religion in the region. The star is also the Star of Ishtar, an ancient Sumerian deity. The circle is just there to have a contrast in colour. And was inspired by the Tunisian flag.
