Sexypink - how a Zinnia grows

You made it impossible to begin the month without recognizing your presence and your absence from this world. When I heard the news I could not believe it.

I pass one of your murals often, and admire the energy and joy in it. Thank you so much.

Unfortunately I think that we always feel that we have time. We really do not.

Zinnia worked like time was slipping away, or, more appropriately, every moment was to be filled with the talent she was given, and her cup was full to the brim.

She was as much a walking work of Art Design as her work was an opportunity for us to see our contradictory selves.

In the last century I posed a question about the Trinidad aesthetic. I wanted to do a photography book. But guess what? All these years on, Zinnia represents that Trini Aesthetic strongly!

Zinnia lived out loud and proud and transitioning in front of our eyes and keeping going down de road making hazicarah and bacchanal and making over self made her uniquely herself. She shared everything with us and we took it all in. Fortunately she was wise enough not to wait for approval. She was a force of nature, showing us the possible and impossible living side by side.

How often does an Artist come along like this? How often do we stop to appreciate what we have in our midst?

In writing this I looked up the meaning of Zinnia. You should too.

I start the month of June with you because I know that you deserve your tributes. I want to see analyses and thesis and documentaries on you Zinnia, and I want to see your work preserved and respected and never forgotten now.
