'May his light ever live on,' prayed Vanathi quietly, in front of Kaayarohanar, the presiding form of Ishvara at Nagapattinam. She had been restless since she heard about Poonkuzhali in the letter her Prince had written to her Akka, or rather letters. Though he never failed to ask about her, it was perfunctory. Vanathi was no fool, though many thought her to be so.
She had refused to even meet Arulmozhi, instead having seen him once as he woke up. She had not left her chambers except for her prayers, even food, she had gotten to her chambers itself. She had come on Akka's wish, but she was not going to involve herself anywhere near Arulmozhi. She had to lick her wounds in private, and smile to show the world she was happy with his choice of woman. She would always love him, and thus, she will let him go. For his happiness, anything.
Tears filled her eyes at her own thoughts, and she wiped them off, looking straight at the One she worshipped above all, at the One who was everything in the Universe.
"Emperumane, give me strength," she whispered softly, getting up after a prayer to Nilayatakshi and Kaayarohanar, when her Sakhi Tulasi came running in, saying, "Ponniyin Selvar is to visit the temple now with Ilaya Piratti, Vanthiyathevar, Sendhan Amudhan and the odakkari."
Vanathi felt her heart stop and she got up, saying, "Come Tulasi, let us leave. I have some work in my chambers. I need to stitch the pallu for Vanavan Athai. Come come."
Vanathi slipped out of the temple, hurrying to her palanquin faster when she saw the said group of people walking in that direction. Luckily, only her Akka had seen her, and she shook her head, running and entering her palanquin, not knowing that Arulmozhi had seen the end of her saree as she got in.
She heaved a sigh of relief, and asked the bearers to go ahead, when his familiar voice reached her ears.
"I have never known the Princess of Kodumbalur to run away from her Akka or me, have you, Devi?"
She trembled when she heard his voice, and thought of Shiva, prayed to Him again and again, and stepped out. She folded her hands and greeted the younger Prince of Chozha Nadu, her heart beating out of her chest. She did not want to look at him, but by protocol she had to.
"Vanangugiren, Ponniyin Selvare. I am glad to see you awake and doing well now."
"I am surprised to see that you did not come to visit me, Vaanathi," he said, and Vaanathi resisted the urge to snap. Why should she go to see him?
"Ilavarase, I came as Akka's companion," she said. "By protocol, I should not come to meet you alone."
Her eyes met his steadily, and she could catch the hint of surprise in his lovely amber eyes, the hint of something amiss, and she smiled a little more. She wanted his happiness, and he clearly was, around Poonkuzhali. She must thank the woman for not just saving the Prince, but for also giving him that happiness and contentment. Swallowing quietly, she allowed herself to still look at him, not letting the flood of her heart reflect in her eyes.
"But you can with Akka," he pointed out correctly, but she shook her head.
"Ilavarase, only those whose presence is needed must come to see you. My presence would be a disturbance. But I am thrilled to see you doing well. I will pray to Emperuman for you. For now, please let me take leave and not disturb you all in your darshanam."
"You will not come with us?" he asked, eyebrows raised.
"No Ilavarase. I already finished my darshanam. I have some work, vanangugiren."
Saying thus, and smiling at Kundavai, Vaanathi went back to her palanquin, feeling his eyes on her, but refusing to look back or at him.
It was not her right, any longer.

This is a sneak peak into an angst Vanathi and Arulmozhi story. It will not be too many chapters in length- I am trying to make it as limited but with the punch it requires, as possible.

Vrinda devi
Tulasi, or Vrinda (holy basil) is a sacred plant in Hindu tradition. Hindus regard it as an earthly manifestation of the goddess Tulasi; she is regarded as the avatar of Lakshmi, and thus the consort of the god Vishnu.
Vrinda is described to be pious, and a great devotee of god Vishnu.

Who was Goswami Tulsidas?

Goswami Tulsidas was a famous poet and Hindu saint. He loved Lord Rama, who was the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. During his life, he wrote many texts and books, but Ramcharitmanas, an epic poem about the life of Lord Rama, is what most people remember him for.

Tulsidas lived all of his life in Vanarasa and Faizabad. In Vanarasa, there are 88 Ghats. One among them is Tulsighat, a place where Goswami Tulsidas wrote Ramcharitmanas and which is named after him.
Tulsidas was the first to put on Ramlila, a dramatic play about Rama’s life based on the Hindu epic Ramayana. Tulsidas also built the Sankat Mochan Temple in Varanasi, which is a temple for Mahabali Hanuman.
Tulsidas is a highly respected and well-known poet in India and all over the world. So, swami Tulsidas has affected modern education, popular music, art, movies, and TV.
The Sanskrit word “Tulasidasa” is where the word “Tulsidas” comes from. The word “Dasa” means “maid, servant, or slave,” and “Tulasi” is the name of a holy Hindu basil plant that is used to worship Lord Vishnu.
Goswami Tulsidas's life story
The exact date of Tulsidas’s birth is different according to each biographer. Based on Mula Gosain Charita, one group of biographers said that Tulsidas was born in 1554 B.S. On the other hand, a group of biographers led by Sant Tulsi Sahib and Hathras said that the birth year was 1568 Bikram Sambat. Biographers of today and even the Indian government believe that Tulsidas was born in 1554 B.S.
One story about how Tulsidas was born says that he came into the world after a year. He was born with 32 teeth, and a body like a five-year-old, and instead of crying like other babies, he would say “Rama.” So, they called him Rambola. Mula Gosain Charita says that Tulsidas was born in the star to sign Abhuktamla, which means that his parents were in danger. So, on the 4th day after he was born, his parents left him.
A Vaishnava muni named Narharidas took Rambola in when he was five years old and began teaching him. After Virakta Diksha, Rambola changed his name to Tulsidas and began his philosophical journey. He learned Sanskrit grammar, the Vedas, the Vedangas, and Jyotish in the holy place of Vanarasa.
Goswami Tulsidas authored texts, books, poems, and songs throughout his life. Based on the language, the biographers divided the 12 works into 2 groups. They’re;
Awadhi literature
Ramcharitmanas
Tulsidas wrote this epic poem between 1523 and 1623 B.S. It was one of Tulsidas’s best and earliest works. It is a long poem that tells all of Lord Rama’s stories from Valmiki’s Ramayana. “Ramcharitmanas” means “lake of Lord Rama’s accomplishments.” Ramcharitmanas has been called the “living sum of Indian culture” and “the greatest book of all devotional literature,” among other things.
Ramlala Nahachhu
It talks about what happened to Lord Rama when he was young and is made up of 20 Awadi verses written in a Sohar metre. In the Hindu ceremony of Nahachhu, a child’s toenails are cut.
Barvai Ramayan
It has 69 verses written in the Barvai metre. It is a shorter version of Valmiki’s Awadhi Ramayana.
Parvati Mangal
Also, it means that Devi Parvati got married. It is 162 verse, of which 148 verse is in the Sohar metre whereas 16 verse is in the Harigitika metre. It tells how hard Devi Parvati worked to make Lord Shiva her husband, and how they got married.
Janaki Mangal
It means that Devi Sita got married. It has 216 stanzas written in both Hamsagati metre (192 stanzas) and Harigitika metre (48 stanzas) (24 stanzas). The story of Lord Rama and Devi Sita’s wedding from the original Ramayana is told in this work by Awadhi.
Ramagya Prashna
This means finding out what Lord Rama wants. It is an Awadhi work with 343 Dohas that are split into seven books, or kandas.

Braj literature
Krishna Gitavali, also called Krishnavali, is a collection of songs that people say Lord Krishna wrote. It is made up of 61 songs. 32 hymns show Krishna’s childhood play (Bala Lila) and Ras Lila. The other 27 songs show Krishna and Uddhava talking. The last two lines describe what happened when Draupadi took off her clothes. 
Gitavali is a collection of 328 songs in the Braj language that tell the story of the epic Ramayana. 
Dohavali is a set of 573 verses written in the Braja dialect in the Doha and Sortha styles. It talks about things like being kind, knowing about politics, and the goals of life. 
Vairagya Sandipini is a Braj work with 60 verses that talks about the scenario of Jnana (knowledge, realization), Vairagya, ethical behavior, and a saint’s eminence. 
Vinaya Patrika is a collection of 279 songs. Its name, “Letter of Petition,” comes from what it is. In front of Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshman, Bharat, and Shatrughan, who were the judges, it was authored as a petition against 6 passions: lust, anger, selfishness, drunkenness, proximity, and self-esteem. 
Sahitya Ratna is a 325-verse poem in the Braj language. 
Besides these important works, Tulsidas also wrote Hanuman Chalisa, Hanuman Ashtak, Hanuman Bahuk, and Tulsi Satsai, which are not as important.
Lessons from Tulsidas
God is the origin of all good things, and he has no shape, no name, and no birth. Everything is inside of him, and he turns into an individual to assist those who believe in him.
There is just one God, but arrogant people have made up many different kinds of God.
Every living thing has parts of God in it. So, treat them all with respect.
Good intentions bring happiness and wealth, while bad intentions bring sadness and pain.

Eight Prayers Glorifying Sri Vrinda-devi

VERSE ONE
gangeya-campeya-tadid-vinindi- rocih-pravaha-snapitatma-vrndeh! bandhuka-bandhu-dhyuti-divya-vasi, vrnde! numaste caranaravindam
Oh Vrinda! You are adorned with an extremely brilliant transcendental dress which is as red as a bandhuka flower. By your own supremely beautiful bodily luster, you put to shame the combined effulgence of pure gold, champaka flowers and lightning bolts. And also, by that same luster of yours, you are continuously bathing your own personal associates, namely all the moving and non-moving residents of the Vrindavan forest. We therefore offer our respectful obeisances unto your divine lotus feet.
VERSE TWO
bimbarharoditvara-manda-hasya- nesagra-mukta-dyuti-dipitasye! vicitra-ratnabharanasriyadhye! vrnde! numaste caranaravindam
Oh Vrinda! The Countenance of your face is especially radiant, being decorated by your gentle sweet smile (which has sprouted from your reddish lips resembling bimba fruits), as well as by being embellished with your pearl nose ornament. You are also endowed with loveliness by your body being decorated with multifarious, wonderfully jewelled ornaments. We therefore prostrate ourselves at your beautiful lotus feet.
VERSE THREE
samasta-vaikuntha-siromanau sri krsnasya,vrndavana-dhanya-dhamni dattadhikare! vrsabhanu-putrya vrnde! numaste caranaravindam
Oh Vrinda! The supremely pure abode of Sri Krishna known as Sri Vrindavan-dhama, which is the crest jewel amongst all the planets of the spiritual sky, is presided over by the charming daughter of King Vrishabhanu, Sri Radhika. But She has awarded YOU with the power and authority to maintain this divine realm as your service to Her. This is why we offer most heartfelt obeisances unto your beautiful lotus-feet.
VERSE FOUR
tvadajnaya pallava-puspa-bhrnga-mrgadibhir madhava-keli-kunjah madhvadibhir bhanti vibhusyamana vrnde! numaste caranaravindam
Oh Vrinda! All the multitudes of Lord Madhava’s love-sporting bowers become supremely beautified by being decorated under your direction with fresh leaves, sprouts, flowers, bees, deer, peacocks, talking parrots, all types of animals and birds, as well as with wonderful seasons headed by Spring. We therefore offer our respectful obeisances unto your divine lotus feet.
VERSE FIVE
tvadiya-dutyena nikunja-yuno- ratyutkayoh keli-vilasa-siddhih tvat-saubhagam kena nirucyatam tad vrnde! numaste caranaravindam
Oh Vrinda! By your expertly intelligent service as a messenger for the Divinely Amorous Couple of the Bower, Their transcendental love-sports thereby become successfully fulfilled. Who in this world could possibly even speak of your great fortune? We therefore must simply bow down before your beautiful lotus feet.
VERSE SIX
rasabhilaso vasatis ca vrndi- vane tvadisanghri-saroja-seva labhya ca pumsam krpaya tavaiva vrnde! numaste caranaravindas
Oh Vrinda! Devotees who have the desire to participate in the rasa dance, who long to live eternally in Vrindavan, and who hope only to achieve devotional service to the lotus feet of your most beloved Lords, easily attain the everlasting fulfillment of all their desires by your most gracious mercy. We therefore bow down to your divine lotus feet.
VERSE SEVEN
tvam kirttyase satvata-tantra-vidbhir lilabhidhana kila krsna-saktih tavaiva murtis tulasi nr-loke vrnde! numaste caranaravindam
Oh Vrinda! Highly qualified sages, who are well-versed in the Tantras of the mode of pure Goodness (the scriptures written by the Lord’s pure devotees), have praised you as being the personified energy of Lord Krishna known as lila-sakti (the energy that helps perform His pastimes). You are also very famous in this world for your appearance here in the form of the tree known as Srimati Tulasi Devi. Therefore we offer our most respectful obeisances unto your beautiful lotus feet.
VERSE EIGHT
bhaktya vihina aparadha-laksaih ksiptas ca kamadi-taranga-madhye krpa-mayi! tvam saranam prapanna vrnde! numaste caranaravindam
Unfortunately bereft of devotional service, and due to committing hundreds and thousands of offenses, we have been cast deep into the ocean of material existence; indeed, we are being tossed about by the terrible waves of lust, anger, greed, etc. Oh most merciful one! Our souls are surrendered unto you - and we offer our most respectful obeisances unto your divine lotus feet.
VERSE NINE
vrndastakam yah srnuyat pathed va vrndavanadhisa-padabja-bhrngah sa prapya vrndavana-nitya-vasam tat-prema-sevam labhate krtarthah
Whoever hears or recites these eight prayers in glorification of Sri Vrinda Devi, becoming just like a bumble bee that is always anxious to taste the sweet nectarine lotus feet of the Divine Couple (the Lords of Vrindavan) - such a person verily attains eternal residence in Vrindavan. Having finally achieved the supreme goal of life, one thus remains situated in the ecstatic loving service of the Divine Couple Sri Sri Radha-Madhava
