月夜茸[Tsukiyotake] Omphalotus japonicus
月夜[Tsukiyo] : Moonlit night
茸[Take] : Mashroom
By the deep forest path, it was growing in abundance on a dead stump and its woods that appeared to be Buna(Japanese beech, Fagus crenata). There were probably more than fifty of them and some of the larger ones had pileus diameters about twenty centimeters.
It looks delicious but is poisonous. Because it closely resembles the edible 剥茸[Mukitake](Sarcomyxa serotina), 平茸[Hiratake](Pleurotus ostreatus) and 椎茸[Shiitake](Lentinula edodes), it is easily eaten by mistake, and poisoning can cause digestive damage and even death in severe cases. The accident occured from this just a week or so ago. https://www3.nhk.or.jp/news/html/20241020/k10014614611000.html (ja)
The following are some of the characteristics it has.
There are fine scales on the pileus.
There is a ring-shaped protrusion on the stipe.
When the stipe is broken, the inside of the base is blackened.
These are the ones I checked on the day, in addition there are several others. Of these I did not check, the significant characteristic is that it emits a faint greenish light when viewed in the dark. This is where the name comes from. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vQH873_uzU&t=573 (ja)
Its poisonous and luminescent characteristic have been well known for centuries. In a book written around the end of the Heian period(794-1185), there is a story of a failed attempt to kill someone using this (which is supposed to be). Also in other periods, it appears in strange and funny tales. I omit them here. I will write someday when I have a chance.
And, the two growing in the lower left of the photo are 埃茸[Hokoritake](Lycoperdon perlatum), also known as 狐の茶袋[Kitsunenochabukuro]. 狐[Kitsune] means fox, 茶袋[Chabukuro] means teabag.

*SessRin Drabble*
Tumblr media
Sometimes the things you love the most, can hurt you the most.
Tsukiyotake means 'moon-night mushroom' and they're poisonous, so a fitting mushroom to associate with Sesshomaru.
Ao3
Before Rin, Sesshomaru had wandered the countryside his whole life without ever taking much notice of the wild mushrooms that sprouted there.
“Matsutake,” he hears from the shade of a red pine.
“Hiratake,” finds her kneeling at the stump of a broadleaf tree.
“Mukitake,” she says aloud, only this time she’s terribly mistaken.
The costs of this misidentification are vivid nightmares, nausea and troubled bowels.
All in all, it could be worse.
“What an embarrassing way to go,” Rin laughs, squatting in the bushes.
Damn tsukiyotake.
They have too many enemies for her to be taken out by killer fungi.

Hi! My question is “when will I get my dream job?”. Thank you, #🍫
Well, like I said. I'm not actually psychic and I can't really answer any direct questions. But I suppose I can see what I can do.
Tumblr media
(Six of Pentacles, Two of Swords, Death) (Bianchetto Truffle, Tsukiyotake, Destroying Angel)
Hmmm... Well. This is kind of difficult to read, especially the last two.
I guess I'll just start at the beginning. The Six of Pentacles is typically a card about charity, either giving or accepting. I suppose this can go a lot of ways when job-hunting. The job itself could be in a non-profit, or it could be a situation where you need to donate your time to get what you want. (If you go this route, though, I would make sure not to allow yourself to be taken advantage of!) It could even be a situation where someone does something charitable for you, and if that happens, this card tells you to set aside your pride and take it.
Death and the Two of Swords feel a little at odds with each other, tbh. Death is a card of extremely inevitable change and sloughing off what is no longer necessary from your life, and the Two of Swords is about being stuck as you try to make a decision. In other words, Death is kind of a card of movement whereas the Two of Swords is sort of a card of stagnation.
There is often a blindfold on the Two of Swords, symbolizing that you might be trying to ignore a decision that you don't want to make, but the artist here has chosen to use a bioluminescent variety of mushroom. If nothing else, you will see it.
My best guess here, I suppose, is that you'll be presented with a very difficult decision. You may not have access to your dream job, or if you do, it may come with strings attached that are difficult for you to accept. It may require charity, whether on your part or someone else's, and it might be a difficult situation. But you cannot turn your eyes away from it and hope it goes away. It will be unignorable.
You might need to shed some things to get to the change you want; that's how Death works, after all. You sacrifice the life you have for the one that's coming. I can't tell you where or when any of this will happen, but... being honest with you, it does look like some very difficult decisions are in your future.
Best of luck to you.

Two of Swords. Art by Joseph Buckley, from The Mushroom Hunter's Tarot.
Here we have Omphalotus japonicus, or Tsukiyotake (the moon-night mushroom), as the Two of Swords. Under the light of day, this mushroom is easily mistaken for both oyster and shiitake mushrooms, and is responsible for more poisoning cases in Japan than any other mushroom. At night, however, this mushroom’s bright luminescence makes it hard to mistake for any other. It’s so bright that one can see it from 100 feet away.
Keywords: Hard decisions, stalemate, opposition, avoidance

ah, alright, thank you! if possible, could you do boyflux+cinthean pridecons of tsukiyotake from doku doku mori mori? if its difficult to get any decent images, i can try submitting some! preferably square, but circular is fine too!
yeah, i went looking on my own and it seems i'd need to go through the source myself to find images - you can either send me your own transparents or send me images i can make transparent on my own! for the second option, it'll be easier on me if the images have solid-color and/or lightly-colored backgrounds :3
