Debbie is a cheery and sincere vampiress who spends her days writing romantic narratives for her faithful readers. In her free time, she navigates San Myshuno to tour the art museums and participate in some Karaoke events. Despite her sweet and mild demeanor, she led an extravagant flapper lifestyle in her past that left her with some esteem and trust issues. It took her decades to work on herself to hopefully find someone kind and dependable to match up with in this romantic experiment.

◈Background◈

In her youth, Deborah Hoppkins was the wild middle child of a low-income human family. She developed into the typical teenage runaway tha sought to experience the roaring 20’s at her own leisure. Partying was all she was known for and what got her mixed up with messy company. As a way to fund her lifestyle, she became a small-time jazz singer. Now going by “Debbie Davis’, she sang at any dingy club that would accept her.

After a successful performance at a nightclub, she attracted the attention of a rather dark looking group of vamps in the audience. Being drawn in by either the devilish taste for danger or paranormal allure, she quickly fell into their circle. First as a curious observer, then as a willing blood donor. One of her vampiric paramours, Lucinda, was able to sway her into converting her into a vampire with sweet whispers. Which started her long rocky relationship with Lucinda. 

After the chaos of having to deal with vampiric melodramatic love dynamics, Debbie slowed down on her night time shenanigans. Parties and dancing can only take you so far if you yearned for more. Soon she found a new passion, which was writing. The lulls between gatherings were always accompanied by books, so it was not a stretch for her to want to write them. Started off writing for pulp magazines, to eventually full length romantic novels.

When she earned enough, Debbie settled down in her current high rise apartment in San Myshuno. She spends her time writing romantic epics with some free time at the Karaoke Bars. She started to find her own true identity and self away from being the aimless good-time girl for others. Finding herself to be almost content with her life.

Five years ago, she was reached out to by a young lady while Debbie was on her way for her weekly plasma fruit restock at the local farmer’s market. It turned out that the young woman was her great-great niece who came all the way from Windenburg. She managed to reconnect with her descendants, often visiting during holidays with the occasional video call if her deadlines don't swamp her. As she spends time with her family and sees how all her nieces and nephews have formed families and healthy relationships, the more she realizes how much she yearned for the same. She can only fill that void in herself for so long through writing romances.

◈Relationships◈

Soon after leaving home, Debbie was briefly married to an older man but separated a year later when he wanted a more traditional homebody type. For him, it was more of a passionate affair that cooled off quickly. Only after that did she find out that he was already married in another city with children as well. She kept his last name, Davis, since she loved the alliteration. Thanks to the lively atmosphere of the party scene, Debbie was able to explore her sexuality. She was able to see that her connection with women could be beyond platonic. Even if it still had to be kept in the backrooms. From time to time, she still found some connections with men too. Most of those relationships were more situationships than full relationships that she hoped for. Her next serious relationship was with Lucinda. Lucinda was a big personality, which Debbie truly admired. Big personalities also lead to big problems. In the end, Debbie realized that this abusive relationship had no hope of improvement, despite her efforts to overlook and work on Lucinda's faults. Her other relationships between Lucinda’s breaks and right after were just as messy and complicated. The expectations of being a party girl didn’t set her up for a suitable choice for relationships in others' eyes. It was only when she pulled herself from her old group’s sphere of influence did she get a break from that reputation. In her current life in San Myshuno, there have been the occasional date or so but it's hard to keep up with shifting dating styles and expectations.

Due to all her wild experiences and romantic outlook on life, Debbie took on writing as her next pursuit. She has written many romantic series in the past decades. Some of which are inspired by her passionate and chaotic love life as a young woman and a fledgling. The leads enter into dramatically messy couplings and love polygons. Although, her most recent works have the leads heading for more stable love lives, but with enough intrigue to keep her readers hooked. 

Her eyes are now set on establishing her own book publishing house to cater to those interested in all things romantic and dramatic. Currently in the process of finding and buying back the licenses to her whole catalog of books..

Dancing is all Sabrina lives for. Making it as prima ballerina at age of seventeen, Winderburg's youngest principal ballet dancer — her mother's pride and joy. The world feels like its at her feet, but none of it was given, she has worked hard to earn her title. However, the spotlight has gotten pretty lonely. It feels amazing to be recognized and rewarded for your hard work and talent but it’s difficult to have no one to share it with. MEET GIANNA MENDOZA

Bio: Gianna isn’t used to being the “It” girl. Growing up, she was much more used to being that girl in the back of the class trying to blend in with the wallpaper. Her insecurities were borne out of years of bullying at the hands of her classmates: whether it be snarky comments about her weight, or taunts about her love of all things “nerdy,” Gianna almost always found herself as the butt of everyone else’s jokes. As such, she didn’t grow up with a ton of friends, and it wasn’t until she entered the online gaming community that she found her people. Online, she was able to be herself and have that be enough, and the friendships she cultivated would become a bright spot in her life for the rest of her adolescence. When it came time to apply to university, Gianna knew without a doubt that she wanted to pursue a degree in computer programming. Her years of gaming, while fun, had shown her that there was still a gap in the gaming world that needed to be filled when it came to diverse character design, including better representation of women and ethnic minorities in MMOs and first person shooter genres. Today, Gianna works at as a programmer at a indie game start up led by a woman majority team. Though her interests haven’t changed, her confidence in herself has, and these days she’s working hard to not take anyone’s shit and stand up for herself.

Other Facts:

Gianna comes from a BIG family; there’s her parents (who are divorced), step-dad and step-mom, half brother Luka from her mother’s second marriage, her older sisters Nicole and Jess, and older brother, Gabriel. Her father takes care of their family dogs, Kita and Lola. Gianna is the second youngest, with Luka being 7 years younger than her.

Gianna is the type that needs to warm up to people. Don’t dare leave her alone at a party if you’re the only one she knows: she always needs a buffer present to help break the ice between her and strangers lol

Gianna is used to being overlooked not just because of her history with bullying, but because her extended family is even more huge than her immediate one. Family gatherings often featured her retreating to the nearest bathroom to play on whatever handheld console she had at the time, and avoid being asked for the eleventh time how school’s going

Though she can be a bit reclusive, she’s a very sweet person and very affectionate and caring for her friends once you get close to her. The type to get big mad if anyone messes with her friends (think mad little cinnamon bun lol)

Gianna’s dating history is limited mostly to her college days. She discovered her freshman year that she was pan, and has gone on a few dates over the years with people who approached her, but nothing ever progressed to anything more serious. As such she’s definitely “inexperienced,” but looking to change that if she finds the right person

When it comes to “types”, she’s not as fussed about what someone looks like as she is about how they treat other people: are you nice to wait staff at restaurants? How do you handle your temper during an argument? Are you too proud admit when you’re wrong? Gianna favors people who are gentle and kind and value community over being the one “in charge”. Though she will admit, she’s a sucker for anyone with a nice smile and beautiful blue eyes lol

Other interests besides gaming include anime, DND (she plays online with a group of friends), superhero movies, and mini golf. She’s willing to try other people’s hobbies at least once, but she’ll typically do as much research on the subject as possible before a meetup so that she’ll have talking points ready to keep the conversation from drying up lmao

Gianna wants just as big of a family as she grew up with, but this time she wants to run it the way she wishes she were raised, giving equal attention to all her kids

She’s coming on the show in hopes of making a real connection without having to worry about any of her insecurities. Hopefully she’ll find the one!

Simblr Asks - TS3

Saw these questions by Teauke on my dash, and y’all know I love talking/ranting about The Sims; let’s go! ^0^

1. how big is your mods folder?

That’s my mods folder with only mods/hacks/overrides; no CAS or build/buy CC installed. It’s a miracle that nothing conflicts, at least not as far as I can tell.

2. how would you describe your style? A sporadic mix of tv/gaming fandom-inspired conversions and recreations, of mostly fanciful and/or cultural themes & genres.

3. What is your favorite challenge? I’m a builder at heart, so I love recreating lots and interiors. Challenges where we find IRL rooms/scenes and remake them in TS3 are always the most fun for me.

4. do you make cc? if so, what kind? I make fanciful & cultural custom content (occult, sci-fi, boho, etc). I make CAS CC sometimes, but I prefer making buy/build CC.

5. what type of cc do you hoard? Not everything, but a lot. As creators retire and links die, I’m even more paranoid than I already was that CC will no longer be available anywhere.

6. what default eyes and skin do you use? I don’t use default-replacement skintones, but I do use Buhudain’s You Are Real mod.

As for eye defaults, I absolutely love Moonskin’s Shiny Glass replacements.

7. how many urls have you had, and what are the meanings behind them? All of my simming URLs on MTS, TSR, the officials, and Tumblr are some variation of my first name, Murfee Lee. Because yes, I am that darn creative.

8. who is your favorite gameplay blog? 9. who is your favorite storytelling blog? Ugh, there are too many good ones out there.

10. who is your favorite cc creator? All of my favorite creators retired years ago: DyM/Hekate999 (fantasy build/buy), Parsimonious (everything), Luna (everything build/buy), Qingshuangtongzi (Asian everything), Amethyst (Asian CAS), Art-Sims (CAS everything), etc. I swear, the day Sandy/ATS3 (everything build/buy) retires is the day I’m having a panic attack.

11. how do you edit your photos? Badly. Tweak the brightness & contrast and call it a effing day.

12. what is the last screenshot you took? It’s a surprise.

13. what do you do when you are unmotivated? I am never “unmotivated,” so much as I am distracted. I think the reason I’ve simmed so long is strictly because I’m always inspired by fandoms. If I get distracted by a tv/game, it becomes my next muse (aka current obsession). It’s not that I get unmotivated to finish the old stuff I pretty much abandon, it’s just that there aren’t enough hours in the day for me to do everything I want. Sometimes I return to older saves/gameplay. Most times I don’t though--unless someone messages me wanting to see it again (and that’s effing rare). 

14. who is your current favorite sim? Sakura and Nasir are my alltime favorite sims. But I must admit that I patted myself on the back pretty dang hard when I created Tsukihime-Sama for my Moon Medicine gameplay. I love every sim I made for that gameplay (which I really need to finish one day, ugh), but my Lunar Moth Goddess? 👌

15. who is your current favorite sim that is not by you? Every sim that @obscurus-noctem​​ is out here sacrificing goats in order to create. It’s just disgusting how pretty everything on their blog is. Those mersims? Those graphics? That editing? Makes me effing sick. 

16. recreate someone else’s sim in your style. I think I saw a challenge like this a few months/years ago, but never did it. But I DID do the Picrew version.

17. do you talk about sims with people in real life? One of my professors plays SimCity. Naturally, we bonded over how wack EA is. ^_^

18. how many of the packs do you own? All of them, except the Stuff Packs. Barring Fast Lane and Movie Stuff, none of the other SPs are worth the price; it’s just build/buy/CAS CC any MaxisMatch creator.could make for free. I’ve always felt that way about SPs, which is why I never bothered with them in TS1 or TS2 either. I will say though, that TS4′s SPs are something else entirely, which brings me to #24 (see below).

19. how many posts do you have on your blog currently? 2764. JESUS.

20. how many drafts do you have on your blog currently? 363. U_U And most of those are CC sets & gameplay posts I never finished.  

21. how many posts are in your queue currently? It’s a secret. ^_^

22. have you ever moved blogs? Never. I never even changed my theme or URL.

23. are you in any sims related discord servers? Yes, the Creators Cave, but I effing hate Discord; it’s just a royal pain to navigate, IMO.

24. what are your thoughts on the most recent pack? (paranormal) Speaking of Stuff Packs!

RANT ALERT!

If anything, TS4′s SPs are doing way too much (adding new gameplay, careers, lifestates/NPCs, lots, etc!? WUT.) Or rather, its EPs aren’t doing nearly enough. I love that TS4′s SPs add meaningful content. But if they’re raising their bar, that means the Expansion Packs need to rise by the same degree, to stay relevant, if anything.

But EA, in their infinite ineptitude, seems to be scaling back with their EPs! Cutting what should be 1 cohesive EP into multiple SPs & GPs piecemeals the content and cheats people out of money, by having us pay more for less! The TS4 SPs do a lot, yes, but now let’s talk about the Paranormal SP for example:

Paranormal Stuff does perhaps the most any SP in The Sims 1/2/3/4 ever has, and has by far the most worth for its money...but at a dire cost:

- the career only has 5 levels instead of 10 (thus being nowhere as deep as TS3′s combination of the Ambition EP’s Ghost Hunter and the Store’s crystal ball--which links with the Supernatural EP’s Spellcasting skill)

the crystal ball is a 1-trick pony

unlocking Bonehilda is tied to grinding skill/career levels, only for her to do EFF ALL once she finally arrives (and her face looks like melted cookie dough WTF)

most of the gameplay is tied to the pack’s new lot/venue

and the ghosts are still meh

So rather than TS4 having an actual Supernatural EP, instead it has the ok-but-disappointing Realm of Magic Game Pack (which I’ve already ranted about), the watered-down Paranormal Stuff Pack, and the INCREDIBLY OP Vampires Game Pack (which I’ve salivated over). That’s already $40--the cost of TS3′s Supernatural Expansion Pack, mind you--but with the glaringly absent inclusion of Fairies, Werewolves, AND Zombies. O_O WHAT THE HELL, EA. To get the full Supernatural experience in TS4 is gonna end up running people not $40, but perhaps DOUBLE, if werewolves & fairies get their own GPs (unless EA waters them down in SPs, which would still be anywhere from $50-60). EA is robbing people blind.

Simblr Community Challenge

How long have you been playing the Sims? Uhhh I don't... know?? Because I only had a computer of my own when I was around 17 or so, but I do remember playing TS2 on my cousin's laptop. So I've been playing it on and off, I guess. But I started by playing TS2, I never played the first one.

How long have you been a Simblr and why did you become one? These questions are excellent for someone with time blindness. Uhhh, I think I joined simblr in eiher 2014 or 2015, I'm not sure. I was definitely here in 2016, but I'm pretty sure I was here even before that. I became one because I thought it was neat and I wanted to make characters out of my silly little sims.

What type of Simblr are you? The shitty type. I like doing photoshoots, and I like releasing poses. That's basically all I do now, but I do enjoy doing more. Eventually I wanna bring back my story/legacy, which stopped because I didn't have time for it, and I lost my inspiration. I'm also juggling several blogs - simchronized, my main one where I post my OCs and posepacks, ts3posedatabase where I catalog poses so I can use the tag system to find them easily, plumbmeow is my berry blog (yes, I play berry sims! It’s not as often, but when I do, it goes there). And I'm also a freelance artist, which means I have to juggle twitter, instagram, and commission work. I want to make stories, it's just that the time is a bit tight and other things require my attention.

Which generation of Sims do you primarily play? Sims 3 and that's my final answer. TS2 is charming, but I don't hold the same love for it that I hold for TS3. I'm not interested in TS4 at all (but if that's your thing, power to you!).

Love Is Blind Sims 4 Challenge

I have been watching Love is Blind since season 1 and love the drama and the stories that come out of it.

I have also been playing the sims since getting a copy for my PlayStation 2 as a gift back when I was a teen.

So of course after playing challenges casually and never completing them I figured I would come up with a challenge for myself to do for fun.

After playing with the game and creating an initial set of rules for myself I tweaked them and came up with the final set.

SETUP

CREATING THE LOT

Create or download a lot that will be the pods plus their housing. Any lot size you prefer but it must be able to be used for the challenge of them dating in the pods.

The pods area must be closed off and have no doors or windows. I chose to do this by creating little rooms with bathrooms attached. But there were no doors leading to the outside or the lounge area.

To have them go on dates you must have cheats enabled because they will teleport into and out of the pods when it is their turn to go on a date.

The lot must have a separate lounge and living area for each group of people. For example if you go the traditional route you need to have a women’s lounge and living quarters along with a men’s lounge and living quarters.

Again, no doors to the outside or other sections of the lot since they will teleport into a pod for their date and then back to their living quarters when the date is over. They are to be completely isolated during this so they should never leave their living quarters either.

Inside the pods I created more of a small apartment that included a full kitchen and bathroom. Since their is no way for them to be truly ‘blind’ about meeting each other I didn’t worry about creating a wall.

The pods can feature anything they like to do as well since they will be in there a long time. You can have a stereo, guitar, even painting since we see that the contestants do these things together when in the pods.

CREATING THE SIMS

You can create six or eight sims for this challenge. They can be a mix of any gender combination or sexualities that you want. I decided to create my sims with stories the first time and the second time I tried the challenge I used the random trait button instead.

If you use stories they simply need to quit their jobs before starting the ‘process’ of Love Is Blind.

You can create them or download them from the gallery. You must also know which group needs to go where and have them separated appropriately.

Traits can only be repeated one other time in another sim. Try to keep track so there are no more then two of the same trait.

PHASE 1: The Pods & Proposals

Each contestant goes on a date with someone in the other group. The dates can be long or short as long as they have a chance to meet and interact. Certain dates may go shorter depending on the traits they have.

They have to go on a date with each sim from the opposing group of people. Example, all women must go on a date with each of the men if you are doing the challenge that way.

Once they go on their first date they can go back to their living quarters/lounge area and relax. I chose to create four pods the first time I tried this challenge. The second time I chose to make two pods only. You can have a minimum of 1 pod if it makes it easier for you to process.

On their second date with potential partners they need to be in there for at least 4 hours or two meals. The third date they need to be in the pod for at least 6 hours or three meals.

They are only allowed to propose after the third date. So their fourth date can be the proposal date if all goes well.

PHASE 2: The Real World

Once they have proposed and either been rejected, accepted, or left single they can be moved into a house or apartment in the real world with their engaged partner or on their own if they ended up being single.

They all move out into the real world the same day. They must all remain in the same town and neighborhood as well whether single or engaged.

Single people are allowed to be housed together if you wish.

Each coupled household must then host a dinner party, not a wedding, for the other cast members at their new location. You can have these be successful events or not depending on the story you are trying to tell.

They are to return to their real world jobs and can meet other contestants by hanging out individually or in groups if they wish.

This phase should last a minimum of a week. Use this time to develop your stories. Make ups, break ups, and cheating could all happen here.

PHASE 3: Weddings

All the weddings are going to be a day apart. Prepare a community lot to host the weddings at so that you can cycle through them each day.

The weddings can go however you plan them to be.

PHASE 4: The Reunion

Have a successful couple or single person host a party that invites all the cast members for one final reunion. This needs to be a week minimum after the last wedding with you playing all the households and moving them along in life appropriately.

THINGS TO TRY

Here are ways to make this more interesting then having them all match up:

A couple gets their happily ever after.

A couple breaks up at the alter.

A couple breaks up before they reach the alter.

A couple gets married and then divorced between the weddings and the reunion.

A couple breaks up and one of them leaves the other person for a different contestant. This can be before or after the weddings.
