A while ago, I had a conversation with one of my closest friends in regards to mistranslations or misinterpretations in the Bible. In trying to find mistranslations, I also found some really gay shit in the Bible. I mean, some just absolutely "Yes, homo" stuff, which is pretty much what I'm going to be covering right now.
I'm not going to go over all of them in one post, but let me go over the story of Jonathan and David, the story is found in the Book of Samuel, but one phrase, in particular sticks out and it is from a Mishnah:
“Whenever love depends on some selfish end, when the end passes away, the love passes away; but if it does not depend on some selfish end, it will never pass away. Which love depended on a selfish end? This was the love of Amnon and Tamar. And which did not depend on a selfish end? This was the love of David and Jonathan. (Avot 5:16)"
Before we get into the Bible text, lets study this for a second. The Mishnah does not differentiate between the different forms of love as established by the Greeks (Philia, Pragma, Eros, etc.) so we cannot say with 100% certainty in regards to how they may have viewed each other, but we can safely assume that their relationship was of the purest and truest form of love wherein neither sought anything else from the other and you know, this is your typical bromance kind of thing.
Then it gets really fucking gay.
"As soon as he had finished speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. 2 And Saul took him that day and would not let him return to his father's house. 3 Then Jonathan made a covenant with David, because he loved him as his own soul. 4 And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was on him and gave it to David, and his armor, and even his sword and his bow and his belt. 5"
I don't think I need to go too deep into this, but like, yeah. We're gonna do something here. This is from Samuel 1:18, if you were curious, definitely check it out, but for now, we're going to cross reference this with Genesis and the story of Adam and Eve.
I'm not going to 100% copypaste it down like I have the other Bible phrases, but I do want to touch up on that story, in which Eve was created from a "tzela" of Adam. I'm going to be using that instead of the common English translation of "rib" as the word is used in the Torah (Exodus 26 and Ezekial 41) to refer to the sides of a building or a structure. Now, in the context of the Torah, a tzela means just that, the left/right/North/South sides of a building, so we can just look at the original and assume that Eve was created from an entire half of Adam. So, they get together, bone of my bones, flesh of my flesh and they become of one flesh. While this may seem like a bit of a tangent, it's important to look at the words being used here.
Adam and Eve's relationship is stated as being the rejoining of flesh and bone, yet, Jonathan and David's relationship is the binding and conjoining of two souls into one. This is consistent with even a literal translation of the Bible, somehow, these two dudes had a purer and greater form of love than the two original humans. So much more purer, that it was used in the Mishnah oral traditions as an example of what a true love is like. It's absolutely impossible for me to see their relationship as just a bromantic friendship, the wording is just simply too strong to keep it at that. Look at "La Somme le Roi" from AD 1290, these dudes knew, they read the Bible way more than I have and were just "Yeah, no, these guys were like, holding each other in this incredibly just raw and tender way." Like, I've had some homies I've hugged with, but you know, I'm not looking them dead in the eyes with the burning passion of a supernova like I'm about to tongue punch their throats like these two are. I never even held any of my exes like this and you're telling me these dudes are straight? At the very least, they're bi, but come on. Here's my favourite part, though. It's all too often I've seen reports of people using the Bible to spew homophobia, but while researching this, I found nothing of the sort. I found condemnations for "malakoi" and "arsenkoitai" which is used in the context of weird dudes that spend their weekdays hiding in elementary school bushes. The mistranslation of those words to mean "homosexuals" actually started sometime in 1946-1948. You can read up on it here. Anyway, I'd like to close this by saying that it was an incredibly amazing journey for me to find actual pro-LBGT (I might cover the T part some other day, but yeah, Jesus actually acknowledged the idea of gender being more than just binary). Even more so to actually be able to cross reference some things with Torah and Hebrew oral traditions.

Love is Real
In a world full of fakes and phonies
I need you to be my one and only
Not like the ones who pretend they know me
Just be my lover, friend and homie
Me against the world just ain’t right
My mentality has since been lifted and shifted
Rather physically gifted and witted
God fearing the most high and the mystics
So persistent, gotta have you near my side
What it’s like when two different worlds collide
But the right mix could be the right fit
If you’re willing to put aside your pride
Will there be obstacles? Yeah absolutely
No doubt that hail storms will form
But know the sun shall rise once again
Like on the third day Jesus was born
God is good, wait no God is great
Thankful, grateful that I gotta full plate
Ready to feast on any and every competition
Takin’ off like a rocket, that boi on a mission
But listen, you and I got big plans
All you gotta do is take my hand
And we’ll move where ever you wanna go
Can’t wait to travel down this road together
Rockin’ steady but I’m ready if you let me
Lead you to the destination of paradise
A heart filled type love in its truest form
Living life has never been this nice

The truest and most pure form of western misogyny is the ever-august ancient Greek variety of “even associating with women makes a man more effeminate. Therefor the least gay thing you can do is get sweaty with your homies all day.”

my opinion on;
character in general: Illaoi has literally always been my muscle wife. As far as I’m concerned, she’s actually my spirit animal, freedom in it’s purest form. You follow your path, you regret nothing. If you want to laugh, you laugh, if you want to dance, you dance, if you want to eat, then you feast, and if you want to fight, you break someone’s teeth in. Live life the way it was meant to lived, and she is the embodiment of it.how they play them: Literally the truest to form as possible. From the comical shitposts to her most serious of moments, she is a nurturing figure who wants you to do your best, to the woman who will beat your teeth in if you don’t watch your step. He brings everything from her voice to her actions to even the culture behind her to life with such love and detail and thought and care. 100/10the mun: Look. Listen. Renzo is one of the people I knew way back in like, 2012/2013, back when I had first initially started with this hellsite, so I consider him to be one of my oldest friends in this community, alongside @seductive-predation (one love fam, u always da homie), and you can ask literally anyone I’ve been in a voice channel with, occasionally I will just randomly, without provocation while scrolling down my dash, blurt out “god I missed Renzo.” You will always be one of the homies in my book fam.
do i;
follow them: yesrp with them: yeswant to rp with them: oh yesship their character with mine: look. listen. both diana and i are weak. she’s big. she punches. hard. y e s.
what is my;
overall opinion: Literally deserves all the best things in life and then some, you are an inspiration and will probably continue to be so. Keep on keeping on, you’re a blessing.

Crisp Linen:
While most are likely to keep a hand in their pocket, Crisp Linen runs up a check with ease & ends up creating a staple of bangers that focus on the daily grind, flexing, being THE trendsetter & all of his accomplishments.
Similar to a Jersey Club mix, Crisp Linen brings a rack of energy through his unique semi-raspy voice & (sometimes) even daunting beats. The metaphors that Crisp Linen uses even hit you like a closed fist! (so it’s no surprise that the competition ahead is always asleep.)
In a word I define Crisp Linen’s music as rock rap oriented.
Although it’s ultra aggressive & trapp-ish, Crisp Linen dabbles into a hard rap arrangement thus it makes him a well known name in the hip-hop community.
Crisp Linen was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey but as soon as middle school approached, so did the agonizing move to Colonia, New Jersey. Though his heart bled with light & dark blue, Colonia was where he was forced to be (& boy did he hate it!) “My grandparents wanted me in a better environment but Elizabeth had a hold on me & I’d find myself spending time getting away from the dramatic & socially constructed personality of Colonia.” he adds.
Following his 18th birthday, Crisp Linen believed all of his realest friends surrounded him (alongside a whole lot of kush smoke he says) yet the true intentions they had would lead to events that drove his musical ambition to the next level & it changed his outlook on loyalty forever.
Prior to the “Drake vs. Meek Mill” days, Crisp Linen decided it was time to hop into the ring of rhyming when he was in school. “These kids on my bus were making diss tracks about other kids & I just thought that the raw audacity of it was hilarious,” says Crisp Linen “I joined in when my friends were getting dissed & it was mostly funny to everybody.” Then as time passed Crisp Linen realized that he had a talent & slowly began to develop real tracks. “I became more sophisticated in sound/style over the year.“
One week later Crisp Linen then referred himself as Young Vile, but the name didn’t stay long. Crisp Linen just.. fit him best. “For me, Crisp Linen is a place where I find the truest forms of emotions & beliefs. It expresses the full extent of my confidence, contemplation & character,” he adds. He defines “Crisp Linen” as a self aware persona.  According to him the name references the most common scent on a Lysol can. “Beyond freshness, this is a figure of protest in the hip-hop community, challenging the notion that it is reserved for the gangsters & the two dimensional hustlers who approach the game doing anything they can to hide their vulnerabilities. If you asked Crisp Linen though, he’d tell you that money is 25% cotton & 75% linen. His name comes from the way his homies see him collect cash."
Tumblr media
When it comes to music, Crisp Linen just experiments with his wave of emotions. He wants his fans to be able to think of his songs when they’re in any mood & use it as an mood enhancer. "Sometimes I want to tell a story, but even then I only want my story to be a part of a person’s experience. I just want people to find something they really relate to.” Crisp Linen says.In fact the creating process itself leaves Crisp Linen with an exciting feeling.
Proclaimed by the artist, Nana & Come Thru were both really fun to create but Come Thru was more of an individual joy where Nana was practically a party. “Come Thru is one of the first beats I ever made & as soon as I heard the eerie, electronic sample that’s the song began with. The chorus was unintentional & it was only supposed to be part of my verse but as I penned it I was laughing so hard.” Crisp Linen says “Mdubzz had to know what I had written in which we discovered how captivating the lines were. Mdubzz is never less than a brother to me so though the song is not completely solo, it still felt more personal in that way. I even did most of the effects myself, with Nollege tweaking some & showing me some mastering tips to get me sounding perfect. The higher level of control I had was so fun but I knew having that much control can limit ones capabilities if done too extensively.”
Crisp Linen enjoys working with Bo, the producer during his creative process due to his belief in him, productivity & versatile ways yet there are more things in the works for the future! “Jesus Honcho is to appear on a track produced by close collaborator Bō & this is my first time stating so publicly.” he exclaims “I’m very excited for this & Honcho has taught me a lot. He’s been a huge motivation to me everywhere in my life. Crisp Linen also plans on releasing his first official EP called Conversational Gunpoint. Crisp Linen says that in this EP he will be focusing on hallucinogenic themes & portraying his concept of the Conversational Gunpoint. "I’d rather let the music speak for itself though & even that’s touched upon but sonically, its varied.” There will be a bit of somber tracks, very aggressive tracks along with some self discovery in between.
Moving forward, Crisp plans on being signed (in a stable way) with labels such as: Cactus Jack Records, Sony even Interscope. He also plans on partnering up with icons like Eminem, Gucci Mane, Travis Scott, Juice WRLD, Trippie Redd & YBN Cordae. “One advice I live by is that nobody’s going to support you in your own hometown. Maybe not even your own state.” Crisp Linen says “It’s weird how people only want to listen to strangers from other places. Or maybe that’s not weird. But I firmly believe in leaving the areas you’re familiar with to progress your music. There’s always so much more out there & more people that would love your music if you would just show it to them.”
In summary Crisp Linen is dripping with swaggoo (#yeezyvoice). There’s no telling what the forecast will be in the rapshere but the rappers ahead might want to wear some rain boots.
Crisp Linen is about to pour out those hundreds.
By: Natalee Gilbert
Fun Facts:
1. If Crisp Linen had to work with anyone, it would be Al Bee Al because he’s seen his freestyles & says he’s a ruthless MC. “I feel like he’s very vulnerable in his music while maintaining this demeanor that he can’t be fucked with & I think his fans would be able to see similar traits in me and appreciate my music for it.”
2. When it comes to love vs. money, the heartthrob chooses love.“You can always get more money but you can damage your relationship with people, those you know & those you don’t know to a point where they could never love you or their love wouldn’t be true love. I don’t rap for money & if I wanted more money I wouldn’t rap.”

Interviews – Sketch
“I started MC-ing,writing around 1992 around my early to mid high school days approximately in that hip-hop golden era timeframe when Big Daddy Kane was still somewhat doin his thing, and I was also influenced by that Rakim song:”Mahogany”…(actually was amazed by that song to the point where I copied the verse of that song on a sheet of paper)….then started messing with a group wit a long-time friend of mine. Then in 94′ was part of another group wit a friend on my old block, around that time I was taking it a lil’ more seriously putting together a demo-tape networking at certain events and trying to get our name out at a couple of underground radio stations, as well as gettin my 1st taste of booking studio-time etc., I was always torn between rapping & artwork….so I took a break from my rap group and went to Art School..(graduated with an Associates Degree in illustration)….but I was always dabbling wit the rap and went to a couple of open mics and recording with a few friends in somewhat of a rap-group as well as doing solo stuff hooking up wit another friend and laying down recordings to do my independent thing. I currently rest in Queens, but I rep Brooklyn…(born&raised). My style is lyrical, flow is kinda jazzy at times story-telling with somewhat of alternative subject matter & content, but at the same time relate-able for the masses.
1. Sketch what’s good? How’s things your way?
I’m good man, thanks…….jus tryin to survive & stay positive..
2. We have seen you making appearances on Digital Dynasty for almost a decade. How did you first get involved with the mixtape series?
I got on the mixtape series thru my boy Tha Advocate, I’ve known him for years now, we’ve always had a kool business relationship, da homie iz always on his grind, respect……whatup Advo!..
3. To date, we know you haven’t dropped a solo mixtape or album yet, what’s on the agenda? Anything for 2017?
Yeah, I def got plans for 2017, I do however got an EP out dat I did awhile back….”Tha Sketch Factor” dat I recorded wit my boy Medina, it’s on Cdbaby, but I got a mixtape in the works for 2017, expected to drop around Summer, Im excited about dat.
Get that here- http://bit.ly/2pN18fy
4. Any idea for a title or anything like that?
Yeah I got some title ideas, but nothing etched in stone just yet, but it’ll be a kool & catchy title defining myself as an artist, not really stressin the title, I’m more concentrating on the music, content, lyrics, beats etc., tha quality of material is more my focal point, the title is jus the icing on the cake.
5. A lot of people may not know, but you got your acting in Tha Advocate’s “Best Friend” music video. Youre role was very believable. What was it like to play that role?
Thanx man I appreciate dat, that was a great experience, I enjoyed doin dat alot, got a chance to get my Al Pachino on…..lol, I’m not gonna front…I was kinda nervous at 1st but once it was lights, camera, action….I was comfortable, it felt natural transforming myself in a role of a dude dat was bad, sinister, decietful etc., To me acting is a form of art, I got natural artistic ability in my DNA so I felt confident dat I could pull it off, I was fortunate to get the opportunity, I’d be open-minded to fuck wit some acting in the future as well.
youtube
6. Out of all the songs you have done to date, which is your favorite and why?
Aw man, dats kind of a tough one…..I liked “Rays of the Summer” dat was on the latest Digital Dynasty mixtape, this otha joint “Persevere”, “Sunbeam”, I did a joint awhile back I believe was called “Storytellin”…I got some good feedback from dat song…I tell stories sometimes in my raps, so it felt good to get good feedback from dat song, I got a handful of joints dat I put out, and some I didn’t yet, oh yeah…”So Hard” was a joint I liked too….I don’t know if I have a favorite song….I’m always excited off of what I’m gonna write nex, sorta like wit my artwork.
LISTEN TO SO HARD HERE — http://bit.ly/2oZLnid
7. Outside of music we know you have an Associates Degree in illustration. What avenues are you pursuing when it comes to your art?
Yeah I got a degree in Illustration, well since I graduated I’ve done some freelance work, did some animation related stuff which was a great experience, been in a few galleries etc., got some gallery shows comin up in the near future, I would like to do my own independent thing….I like to have full creative control, so I got some ideas in the works.
8. Which type of art lets you paint a picture better, your words on the mic, or your illustrations?
I think both help me paint a picture, I think one compliments the other sometimes….95-100percent of the time both my art & music is based off of me tryin to express myself….what I’m goin thru….how I’m feeling, experiences etc……….Artwork most people would say is my truest calling, even though I get kool feedback wit my music, but there’s times when I go thru moods that the music can express better or exactly what I’m tryin to convey….and other times my artwork would express things I’m tryin to say……my art always paints a picture….but my music paints a picture too….dat basically da definition of my name “sketch”.
9. So you started in the Golden era, back when NYC had the bull by the horns. Now the rap game turned a full 180! How do you feel about today’s hiphop climate?
Well, I’m not really trying to knock the new skool….there’s some good artist out there….especially underground….but of course you got your wack artist out here too….lol….I think because HipHop is gettin older, it has evolutionized….So artists now can get away wit stuff now dat they couldn’t get away wit back then…..and yeah dat hurts da culture…cats rhymin simple or at times not even rhymin…..lol…..Back then, you couldn’t get away wit dat, or some cats now dat might have ghostwriters….not tryin to take a shot at Drake….some of his shit I like….he makes some kool songs, but skill-wise, originality especially…I’m reppin the old skool all day…..I grew up in tha 80’s….so basically I grew up when hip-hop was born in it’s infancy stages growin….eventhough I was a kid growin up too, I feel kinda fortunate growin up round dat time, I was educated well……so I saw hip-hop before it got commercial & global….when it was still underground & raw…..then the late 80’s goin into the 90’s golden era-time, when I started fuckin wit writin, rhymin…I started studying cats dat are now considered legends so artistically I feel fortunate to learn around dat time…..Slick Rick,Puba & Brand Nubians,Big Daddy Kane,Rakim,Gangstarr,Nas even Eminem….even a whole bunch of artists before them!…..Growin up I use to be anticipating how this or that MC was gonna spit or what they had to say….now? Im not dat excited…maybe cuz the bar was much higher back then, maybe now since I know how to rhyme….some cats jus don’t impress me like when I was younger….I jus think now….there should be more of a balance…..Kool…have your ABC mumble rapper sayin tha typical shit…..but at the same time, give an opportunity to da rapper dats lyrical, original,on some different shit….give him da same amount of spins on da radio, da same amount of opportunities for him to make a living off his craft dat da typical rapper gets…and hip-hop would be better.
10. Any new era artists that catch your ear?
I like J.Cole….I really neva listened to his catalog but some of his shit I heard in a car one time….I felt it was good…some of Drakes shit is kool…I like how he rides a beat sometimes….I neva really listened to Kendrick Lamar but some of his shit I heard was kool….there was a cat named Ol’ Droog dat I thought was good….cats was sayin he sounds like Nas….haven’t heard anything from Droog in da hottest minute though….I really can’t remember anybody else comin to mind right now…so I basically listen to Ol Skool….not even really rap….I was listening Old time Reggae,Rocksteady and some old Rock&Roll.
11. How do you feel about Donald Trump as President?
Donald Trump….man..I don’t know where to start…….lol….dats kinda complex……..but at da same time I wasn’t 100percent agreeable wit Hillary either…..lol……..I plead the 5th man…..lol, I’m not too deep in da politics, but I definitely like gettin educated on what’s goin on & up on politics, current events etc.
12. Back to you and your craft. Can you give us some insight on what exactly you want to put together as your latest project and when you think you would drop it? Any producers or features?
Id like to put a solid album out…like 25 tracks deep….but nowadays a mixtape is jus as kool so I’m aiming for that first….the beats are more instrumental production….but I’m open for dope producers….I’m kinda picky wit da beats though….I feel you gotta be at times, I can basically rhyme over any dope beat…but there’s times when I feel not every beat is tailor made for the type of artist I am….but yeah I’m open-minded for producers.
youtube
13. It was good chopping it up with you and we look forward to hearing more from you homie. The floor is yours, let the world know where to catch up with you on social media or the streets!
Thanx man….good lookin out….support dat EP “Tha Sketch Factor”- Sketch Architec lookout for more EP’s I may put out on there as well….check my artwork on Facebook as well as Instagram…..check some of my joints on Advo’s Digital Dynasty series as well as some more shit on future Digital Dynasty volumes….and stay-tuned for my mixtape droppin around summer 2017…..thanx for politikin wit me on this interview……OnE..
