Overview

Proposed as part of Project BIG CAT for the Magistracy of Canopus, the Yaguara was designed by Majesty Metals and Manufacturing in 3146 as a fast moving, hard-hitting heavy 'Mech.

This custom variant, built for Inanna Allard-Liao, possesses an extremely dangerous close combat weapon - a 'Mech vibroblade, mounted on a 'Mech-scale myomer tail, in addition to most of the weaponry of the base configuration.

Capabilities

The Yaguara was built from the ground up with speed and long-ranged engagement in mind. Built around a supercharged Vlar 300 XL engine, the 'Mech can sprint over 86 kph, allowing it to keep up with lances comprised of much lighter 'Mechs than itself. It complements this ground speed with four Rawlings Model 60 jump jets, granting it a jumping distance of 120 meters for an extra mobility boost. Its armament is built around a pair of Clan-spec ER Large Lasers, uncommon in the region, and a Class-2 Rotary Autocannon, with a pair of SRM 6s and medium pulse lasers as close-engagement backups. All of this, unfortunately, comes at the cost of heat - the Yaguara was designed with bracket fire in mind, and MechWarriors are advised not to alpha strike without due cause. This custom variant was built for Inanna Allard-Liao. It is a hybrid Clantech refit, using many experimental technologies, as well as the removal of the previously-mounted SRM 6s, to allow for the addition of a custom myomer armored tail, with a 'Mech scale vibroblade mounted to the end. Complimenting this weapon are Triple-Strength Myomer and a Supercharger, to allow the 'Mech to reach truly incredible speeds for its weight.

Controlled by Inanna using a salvaged Word of Blake Buffered VDNI system, the 'Mech moves with the same fluid grace as its pilot. Advances in Belter/Canopian hybrid medical science have extended Inanna's lifespan estimate from 15 years to 75, and are predicted to have significantly extended the initial onset period for the madness which often accompanies use of neural interface systems.

𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒕𝒆𝒅.

For a little while now Kaen has simply been standing in the gallery amid Harlow’s showcase ( something they promised they would attend even if they knew nothing about art ) while their friend tries to mingle and make connections.  Idly , Kaen nurses their glass of wine ; bitter and dry , it's not to their taste.  And they cannot help but feel … OUT OF PLACE , surrounded by people with money , surrounded by people with beauty— So who are t h e y , really ?  When one of the wandering members of the wait-staff passes by , Kaen deposits their now-empty glass on her tray and , once refusing another offered drink , they retreat to a quieter area of the gallery to s u l k and further fade away from the public eye until Harlow is done for the evening.

In the meanwhile , however , one of her paintings catches their eye.  There is just … Something about it that calls Kaen’s attention.  The use of colors , perhaps , for it reminds the godling of f i r e and r a g e ( these , the two primary traits which define who they are ) .  Checking the sheet nearby , Kaen notices a few people have already made their bids on it.  Kaen considers it : wouldn’t Harlow be thrilled if they bought something , too ?  Not that they need to , but they w a n t to.  Quickly checking their surroundings to make sure the artist in question is not around , Kaen puts down a bid of their own and scurries away , pretending as if they did nothing at all , feigning innocence.

Well , as luck would have it , Kaen d i d win the painting and that doesn’t escape Harlow’s knowledge.  She certainly seems overjoyed by the prospect that Kaen would do such a thing , and that alone is more than reward enough for the godling.  Kaen beams at their friend , reaching out and taking hold of both her hands , swinging them gently.  ❝ Aw , c’mon , Har , Ah didnae do nothin’ major , ❞ Nothing major would be simply showing up to these events to show one’s support , not outright BUYING A PAINTING as a surprise.  ❝ Y’re super fuckin’ talented , how could Ah n o t wanna do more fer ye ?  Ah know it wasnae necessary but , trus’ me , Ah wanted ta’ do it.  Ah promise ! ❞

Kaen glances at the painting they won ( they may have to do some rearranging to find a proper place for it ; it deserves somewhere where everyone can see it ! ) , and then looks back to Harlow , furred ears perking upright , wee tail a’swaying behind them.  ❝ B’sides , now Ah can ‘ave a lil’ piece o’ ye in mah apartment— N- not ta’ make it weird obviously !  Ye know wha’ Ah mean ! ❞  The flustered gleam in their stone-dappled features dims back to their usual g l o w , though their broad grin remains as they give Harlow a cheeky look , ❝ Y’know , if ye wanna show yer thanks an’ all … How ‘bout we do dinner ?  Say , this weekend ? ❞  Did they just ask her on A DATE ?  Yes , they most certainly did.

and he knew he messed up, before he even saw your eyes gloss over, tears bubbling and bottom lip quivering, “t-that was mean..” you sniffled out, feeling your whole body burning up in embarrassment and upset.

and the tears didn’t stop, eddie panicking a little— he was used to you being sensitive, crying and being emotional, it wasn’t a bad thing but you were right, what he said was mean and now he made you cry in front of everyone.

“hey, hey.. i’m sorry, i didn’t— i didn’t mean that.” he grimaced before clearing his throat and standing up, “c’mon.” he held his hand out.

you didn’t take it, but you did stand up and you walked out of the cafeteria, knowing eddie was following behind.

you hiccuped in between soft sobs, lipgloss smudged and some mascara markings on your under eyes as you looked up at your boyfriend, “please don’t talk to me like that. i join in b-but i don’t wanna be laughed at for not liking the same things all the time but i still get laughed at when i’m just doing my own thing, that’s not fair.” you frowned.

“you’re right, it shouldn’t be like that— fuck, i’m so sorry. i’ll make sure you never feel like that again, i’ll make it more comfortable for you, i love you so much, just the way you are and i know you’re so brave hanging out with us freaks,” he chuckled, “i’m so happy you are who you are, i don’t want it any other way.” he sighs, fingers tangling with yours as he pulled you against his chest and smothered you in kisses over every inch of your face.

“i— love— you— so— much.” he said, each word in between a firm kiss, feeling awful but promising himself he’d make you feel much more comfortable and he never wanted to make you cry again.

“just don’t want you to feel like you’re too good for me and wonder off one day, i need you.” he cupped your face.
