So these are mostly quality Historic Moments in Baseball, but I do have to inform Tumblr that the Longoria catch was staged and is an ad for Gillette.
All the others are real and beautiful, though.

last night @qualitystart and I were talking with these two guys at fenway and at one point they were like “hey, we heard you mention troy tulowitzki, do you remember tim lincecum?” which sounds like an interaction I’m making up for notes but was genuinely a top 5 baseball game moment in my life

4/3/13: Rockies Stun Brewers in 13
Wednesday, April 3, 2013 Miller Park
Final score: Rockies 3, Brewers 2 (13 innings) MVP: PH Michael Cuddyer, Rockies: 1-2, 2 run HR in 9th
Two days after watching the Brewers take the season opener with a 9th inning rally to tie and a couple of 10th inning hits for the walk-off, the Rockies returned the favor the best they could. Down 2-0 in the 9th, and down to their last out, pinch-hitter Michael Cuddyer took a 1-2 pitch from closer Jim Henderson and deposited it into the stands - scoring fellow pinch-hitter Todd Helton and tying things up at 2 on what was only the 5th hit of the game for the Rockies. Then, in the 13th, Carlos González knocked a 1-out single - helping offset the bad feelings about the 4 strikeouts he'd had in his previous 5 at bats, stole 2nd, and then came around to score on a Troy Tulowitzki double. That ended up being a key run, as Tulowitzki was subsequently thrown out trying to tag up on a fly ball, ending the top half of the 13th inning. The Brewers made things interesting in the bottom half of the inning, with a 2-out single and a subsequent error by González putting runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs, but a deep fly to center stayed within the confines of the stadium to end the game.
The comeback spoiled a masterful pitching performance from Wily Peralta, who went 7.1 innings, struck out 12, and allowed only 6 base runners - 3 hits, 3 walks; he was pulled with a 2-0 lead after the Rockies got back-to-back baserunners on with 1 out in the 8th, on the power of a triple and then a walk. For the Brewers, they stranded multiple scoring chances against Juan Nicasio, including a bases-loaded situation in the 1st - with all 3 runners reaching via walks; in total, the Brewers ended 5 different innings with a runner stranded on 3rd base (including the 13th inning). In addition to depleted bullpens on both sides after this game, the Brewers also lost Aramis Ramírez to injury after a hit-by-pitch in the 6th inning.
COL 3/9/1 – WP: Matt Belisle (1-0); S: Rafael Betancourt (1) MIL 2/9/1 – LP: Burke Badenhop (0-1)
Mil 3rd: Ryan Braun hits into a fielder's choice at short, ending up at 1st with 1 out; Aramis Ramírez follows with a double, putting runners at 2nd and 3rd; Álex González follows with a slow roller to short, driving in a run on the ground out. 1-0 MIL Mil 7th: Carlos Gómez hits a lead off home run off of starter Juan Nicasio. 2-0 MIL Col 9th: With 1 out, the desperate Rockies pull Todd Helton (rest day) off the bench to pinch hit, and he lines a single; Helton advances to 2nd on a ground out; Michael Cuddyer, also receiving a rest day, is pulled to pinch hit and hits a 2-out, 2-run home run off of closer Jim Henderson to tie the game. 2-2 Col 13th: With 1 out, Gonzalez singles; in a risky move, he attempts to steal second and makes it just under the tag; Troy Tulowitzki then doubles to center, giving the Rockies the lead; Wilin Rosario flies to right field, and Tulowitzki attempts to tag, but it thrown out at 3rd. 3-2 COL
Injuries: 3 Aramis Ramírez, MIL - out for 15 games
(Strat note: The injury bug hits Milwaukee again, as Ramírez joins Marco Estrada on the injury list - Estrada is out for 30 games; Ramírez gets 15. Interestingly, it's only a little bit early - as in real life, Ramírez missed almost an entire month, from April 5 to May 3. Completely coincidental. ... Was running out of bullpen players here, because there aren't cards for every team's opening day 25-man roster; things may have to change before we turn the calendar to April 4.
Tulowitzki's getting nabbed at 3rd i the 13th was a completely unlucky roll for him; per the Strat rules, on a fly(rf)B, a runner at 2nd can try to advance with a calculation - I won't go into that, but essentially, in this situation, it was a d20 with 1-12 safe, 13-19 hold, 20 out - and the roll was a 20. Lucky for him, the Rockies held on - though they made it interesting with that late 2-base error by Carlos González. Not a good game for him, even with scoring the winning run; he also managed to get a golden sombrero - though, it did take 10 innings to get there, as he didn't strike out his first time up. On top of him, Fowler and Rosario both struck out 3 times, as did Weeks for the Brewers. The Rockies first hit/base runner was actually Nicasio, with 2 outs in the 3rd; Peralta really was on a roll today.)
Colorado 2-1; Milwaukee 1-2 Next game in replay: SF (Lincecum, 0-0) @ LAD (Beckett, 0-0)

I have feelings about several guys on the upcoming HOF ballot!!
Bobby Abreu, Carlos Beltrán, Mark Buehrle, Carlos González, Curtis Granderson, Félix Hernández, Torii Hunter, Adam Jones, Andruw Jones, Ian Kinsler, Russell Martin, Brian McCann, Dustin Pedroia, Andy Pettitte, Hanley Ramirez, Manny Ramirez, Fernando Rodney, Alex Rodriguez, Francisco Rodríguez, Jimmy Rollins, CC Sabathia, Ichiro Suzuki, Troy Tulowitzki, Chase Utley, Omar Vizquel, Billy Wagner, David Wright, Ben Zobrist
Russell Martin, I mean obviously. 🍁
I don't know how many of yall are old enough to remember the excitement of getting Tulo. He ended up being injured a lot, but just getting him signaled we're serious about this. Kinda like the more recent big contracts for Ryu and Springer.
Mark Buehrle! Goodness, I loved watching Buehrle pitch. 💕
Not many guys from this era with absolutely no Jays connections that I have warm fuzzy feelings for, but Ichiro and Felix are two of them.
I am, however, vehemently opposed to several of the guys for the simple fact of them playing well on other AL East teams 😆
👋 Oh hey, hi Will Wagner's dad!

Andrelton Simmons Stats, Height, Weight, Position, Rookie Status & More | Baseball-Reference.com
Alain Berset, Andrelton Simmons uses my Shortstop Defensive Playing Style. He is not influenced by Derek Jeter. Please look at the Awards he has won on this link, also go to Standard Fielding and please see how he is far above league average across the board but he is not athletic, it's pure fundamentals. This is one of the many Award Winning baseball players who uses my old style. Playing Shortstop at or near 200lbs was unheard of in America. The only reference American Baseball has is Troy Tulowitzki, Brandon Crawford, Cal Ripken Jr. and Derek Jeter. If you please look at the common height & size of the Shortstops after Derek Jeter's career and Derek Jeter's fundamentals; it is clear that the most marketable player in MLB history has no influence. MLB baseball is in a Shortstop Golden Era. The position has always been popular it's just more easier now to add power and strength to the position. Troy Tulowitzki is only player I model my new style off of.
