July sure is a nice city. It’d be a shame if something happened to it.

imagine being told you can have the one thing you've always dreamed of, save your home, if you complete 1 mission: find vash the stampede & bring him to july. to millions knives.
you know where you're leading him to—what you're leading him to. you don't care. you take the deal.
imagine meeting him, the pitiful fool. the beloved little brother of millions knives, soft in every way—touch, color, heart. he bleeds for so much. too much. someone like him should not be alive. (someone like him doesn't want to be alive)
now your dream rests upon his survival.
imagine telling him you're an undertaker. it isn't wrong. vash the stampede was dead the moment millions knives called for him. there's nothing you can do except make sure he gets to hades's hands in one piece. you'd ask forgiveness, but willful sinners will never be forgiven.
imagine he tells you you're kind. imagine he looks upon your face and smiles. imagine he tells you you could never be bad: he can see it in your eyes. imagine how it must feel, to be acknowledged by the brother of god. does it hurt? does it make you angry?
imagine how it is to watch him bleed himself dry. imagine how it is to watch him make promise after promise, to break them, to watch him crumble to pieces beneath the weight of his own guilt. imagine what it is like to see a mirror. to be reminded of the cross you bear.
imagine how it is to protect him. to hold him close. to be forced to choose between your mission to free the orphanage, and your love for your own little brother. imagine how it is to watch him, time and time again, ensure you never have to make that choice by staying alive.
imagine how it is to fall in love with him.
imagine how it is to bring him all the way to july, to protect him, to heal him, to love him, and then to walk him to his final destination: death. imagine how it is to hear him thank you for it with a smile.
imagine how it is to know you've sealed his fate with a kiss.

Human - thoughts
warning: episode 10 spoilers
I wondered why they titled this episode "Human".
I expected Zasie to tell the humanity story…but no, that didn't happen.
Instead, is Conrad who takes Roberto and Meryl with him.
Tumblr media
He explains his work to Meryl and Roberto.
He wants to improve humans so they don’t explode plants anymore. Just saying it like that doesn’t seem that bad…
Tumblr media
But, his methods are everything BUT HUMAN.
Is that why he seems so sad? Is it really a cross like Wolfwood said? Or he wants to vanish the real cross by his experiments?
Did he loose his humanity in his way to save it?
His goal is really to save humanity like he says? Or is just what Knives told him? For Knives, the investigation may be more like a way to save plants from humans and make humans more like plants, just like this new Elendira is.
It’s interesting how we see in this episode many negative characteristics from humans.
And the positive ones: love, kindness, caring, empathy, comprehension…are represented in Vash.
Tumblr media
Vash grew with in Rem’s teachings strengthened by Luida.
And Knives? Knives grew with the doctor, Conrad, who all he has left as a human now is a desire of being forgiven and undo the past…
Is that why Knives thinks Vash wants to help humans only for redemption? Because it’s the feeling he sees everyday in Conrad, the only human around him for so long…
Vash and Wolfwood get to July, the biggest city, that shines in opulence...the city Knives must hate the most…Is that why he chose that place to start human extinction?
Tumblr media
Opulence, exceeds...
This episode was really dedicated to humans.
They have regrets.
Tumblr media
They get angry.
Tumblr media
They make mistakes.
Tumblr media
They can die.
Tumblr media
And they can change.
Tumblr media
All what a human is…
is what Knives wishes to take away from Vash.
Tumblr media
Knives wants to remake Vash
in someone like him: with no humanity left.

Roberto's derringer is company issued – it says "Bernardelli News Agency, Decembr N.M.L." right on the barrel.
I find it interesting that "NML" or "No Man's Land" is specified here as if it's the name of a country and not the planet?

so episode 10 rly broke me because. it rly hit us with pay off for a bunch of stuff, but the biggest thing is wolfwood calling himself an undertaker rather than a priest in his introduction. this was foreshadowing.
the etymology of "undertaker" comes from the verb "undertake" which means to take responsibility for something or commit oneself to something. the adding of the "r" to create a noun first referred to any general project doer, but then became specific to mean a funeral undertaker—those who lead the recently deceased to the land of the dead.
this is what wolfwood's last mission is—the mission that, from what i can tell, earns him his the orphanage's, however pyrrhic it may be: to lead vash (someone who is notably suicidal) to knives (who wants to rebirth him, which is in its own way, a death).
EDIT: @tantei-armin kindly pointed out an error in understanding on my part! the completion of wolfwood's mission frees the orphanage from the doctor's experimentation, as a bargain for wolfwood becoming a priest (i assume for the eye of michael). thanks again!

Okay, we saw Vash heal/fix a plant in the flashback. Can Knives not do that or is he being a hypocrite and using the Last Run to do fucked up and twisted things to Vash? Does he know Vash can heal/fix plants? It’d be soo interesting if Vash can’t create anything, but he can heal plants when Knives can’t. Also, wtf is the gate? I need to know
