I've made a new conlang Grambank entry for Trigedasleng! Jessie Peterson created a Google Sheets spreadsheet that conlangers can copy and fill out in order to share their work. I did one previously on High Valyrian, and now the Trigedasleng one is finished.. This won't tell you everything about the language, but it'll tell you a LOT in a very small space. If you'd like to do something like this for your conlang, the blank one can be found here.

Trying to Learn or Write Trigedasleng for Fanfic or Fun?
I have no idea who needs to hear this but - There are a lot of resources to learn the language out there. And despite the common thought that the language doesn't have a lot of words, or is not fully thought out, there is actually a very thorough breakdown of how Trigedasleng words are created. It's good to remember that any constructed language (conlang) is going to have a fully fleshed out system for it's linguistic structure or else it'd be near impossible to learn it with any level of accuracy or speak it with others.  Here's a couple sources to help you on your way:
1. This is a magnificent resource, especially if you're just trying to see the scope of the language with its syntax rules, etc. "Trigedasleng Reference: Grammar and Lexicon" - https://dedalvs.com/work/the-100/trigedasleng_v5.pdf
2.This is the best way to learn the language, I think, as it teaches you the language the same way you'd learn any other language and each section breakdown has levels to master: https://app.memrise.com/course/5522455/trigedasleng/
3. My absolute favorite to use as a fanfiction writer who needs quick understandable explanations about the language and find multiple words that are both canonical and non canonical is this website, but it's unfortunately been down the last couple of days. Hopefully it's back up and running soon! https://trigedasleng.net/search/prince
As it's a conlang, the most important thing I would say to anyone is have fun and that’ll help you significantly figure out the best way to say what you want. Sometimes that'll be with a word that already exists in the lexicon, or it might be with a word that you create based on the rules of the lexicon.

bellamy blake x fem!reader
summary: you’re trying to learn words in trigedasleng (grounder language) and the cocky yet attractive man, bellamy blake, decides to help you
A/N- sorry that this is so short and sorry that i haven’t posted in so long
-
You were sat in the cafeteria in Arkadia with Octavia as you waited for Clarke and the others to get back: they were looking for a way to reduce the radiation that would lead to everyone’s deaths. With that in mind, you had decided to attempt to learn some Trigegasleng because, surely, it would be helpful in the near future. Octavia had- somehow- already became familiar with the language and it had proven to be useful.
On the Ark, you had learnt Spanish and French with ease (even though it has never come in handy) but you just couldn’t seem to adjust and appreciate the stems of the grounder’s language. You simply stared at the list of words that Octavia had written down for you and zoned out as you imagined how the mission was currently going.
You nervously bounced your leg as you dreamt of the worst possible outcomes: you had always been an over-thinker. It was one of your many flaws. Octavia glanced to you as she sensed that you were no longer focused on the words. “Y/N.”, she mumbled, hoping to disrupt your daydream. Snapping your head to the side slightly, you turned to look at her. You hummed in response. “Keep your mind on the words. They’ll be useful and they’ll also distract you from the- judging by the look on your face- bad thoughts in your head.”, Octavia assured. You nodded. “Thanks, I’ll try to be fluent by the time they come back, just so I can prove Bellamy wrong.”, you smiled in anticipation. Bellamy and you had a bet going- if you couldn’t learn the words Octavia had given you by the time of their arrival, you’d have to clean his room.
As if on cue, Bellamy casually stepped through the door and into the room.
“Bel!”, Octavia let out in relief. She gently ran up to him as they both wrapped their arms around each other. He then marched over to your table. “Hey, Y/N. How are you getting on with these words?”, he questioned with a smirk on his gorgeous face. “Well, um, I actually know them all. Don’t I, Octavia?”, you looked to her for confirmation as your cheeks blazed at the lie. She shook her head slightly and chuckled. “Yep, she knows them all off-by-heart.”
“Let’s test you, then.”, Bellamy offered as he took in your flushed cheeks. “Okay, translate this sentence: Yu are meizen.”, he stated. Octavia’s lips curled upwards as her eyes shone with a knowing glint. Cautiously, you took a careful peek at the list before Bellamy caught you and hastily snatched it away. “No cheating.”, he teased. You sat there as you were swallowed by your own silence due to your lack of knowledge.
“Guess you have to clean my room for a week.”, he joyfully trudged off, finally showing his exhaustion from his mission. Once he had left the room, you glanced at the piece of paper. After staring at the word for a moment too long, you couldn’t believe it- miezen meant pretty. Was Bellamy hitting on you for the whole time?
From beside you, Octavia stifled her laugh as she analysed your shocked state. “You read it right. He’s been secretly pining for you ever since we arrived on that drop ship.”, she confessed and, if it were possible, you felt your cheeks heat up to a frightening temperature.

Silent bloom
Pairing: Bellamy Blake × reader
Warnings: Swearing, violence
Chapter: 3.02
“It’s been three hours,” Bellamy says, breaking the tense silence. “What are they waiting for?”
Frustrated, Monty taps his fingers against the steering wheel. “We should make a run for it.”
“No,” you mutter. “Soon as we step outside this, they’ll attack.” Ice Nation had you pinned down; you had been stuck in the same spot for hours. It worried you more that they hadn’t attacked yet and were just toying with you.
“They can also wait longer than us,” Indra points out.
“Fine, but we are lambs to the slaughter if we just walk out. We need to come up with a plan.”
“Okay, Bellamy,” Kane says. “You get in the turret, and you cover us. Once we get to that ridge over there, we’ll cover you.”
“Copy that; run fast.” Hesitantly, Bellamy does what he’s told. His hand lightly brushes over your back before opening the hatch. Slowly, he lifts his head out, but before he can bring his gun up, he freezes. “They’re here.”
“Everybody out, or the boy dies!”
Bellamy is suddenly yanked out of the river through the hatch. “We’re coming.” You lean over and forcefully shove at the door handle to open it. “Just don’t hurt him.”
“Wait-” Kane tries to stop you, but it’s too late. As soon as you unlock it, someone grabs you by the arm and tosses you to the ground.
You let out a loud grunt, feeling someone’s knee pressing into your back and keeping you in place. Shit, this was your fault for being so desperate to try and save him. Lifting your head, you meet Bellamy’s eyes. He shakes his head, urging you to stop struggling. Kane and Indra are thrown down beside you and are pinned down in the same way you are.
“All targets are secure!”
You found it strange to hear the grounders talking in English and not their own language. The grounders are wearing masks, so it’s hard to determine if they are definitely an ice nation or from another clan. It’s hard to pick up what is being said, but you don’t hear a single word being said in Trigedasleng. “It’s not grounders,” you mutter. “It’s not grounders.”
You fight the urge to scream when you hear Finn’s voice telling you to speak up. You’re snapped out of your train of thought when you hear Monty struggling as he’s yanked to his feet. “Give it back; it’s mine!”
“Monty, let it go!”
One of the grounders steps forward; their voice shakes as they say, “Monty?”
He stares across at the ground, his face twisting slightly as if he’s seen a ghost. “Mom?”
She pulls off her mask and runs to him, sobbing. She pulls him into a hug. “My boy, my boy, I thought I’d lost you.”
“Farm station, stand down.”
The person pinning you down lifts their knee off your back, and within seconds, Bellamy is beside you, helping you to your feet. “You okay?”
“I’m fine, are you?”
“Yeah…” leaning in close enough so only you can hear him say, “You had that look in your eyes again.”
“I’m fine.” You look across at the man who’s talking to Kane and ask, “Who’s that? He looks familiar.”
“Charles Pike was an earth skills teacher on the Ark.”
You wipe the loose dirt off your jeans with your hands as you walk over to them, beside Bellamy. A small smile is playing on your lips as you watch Monty reunite with his mom; the both of them look so happy to have found each other again. Kane looks around, trying to count how many survivors there are. “How many of you are there?”
“Sixty-three. The rest are camped in the mountains north of here. Grounder killers one and all, am I right?”
“Ohh rah!”
When everyone from the farm station cheers, you lock eyes with Indra. You chew on your lower lip for a moment before saying, “We still need to find Clarke.”
With his interest piqued, Pike turns to you and asks, “Clarke Griffin?”
Pike then turns back to face Bellamy, saying, “If only all my earth skills students were as good as her.”
Bellamy grins and shakes his hand. “It’s good to see you, sir.”
There wasn’t something about Pike you immediately didn’t trust. You go and stand beside Indra as Kane tells the others to go move the tree. Quietly, you say, “I haven’t spent much time with your people, but I know you’ve faced worse things than we ever have and probably have a lot of knowledge that we don’t.”
“What is it you want to know?”
“Can you tell if someone is dangerous to us?”
She gives you a knowing look, but instead of answering you, she cuts in on Pike, telling Kane how many people have been killed since arriving on earth. “The ice nation can be ruthless. Take pride in the numbers you saved.”
"Indra, this is Charles Pike. He was a teacher on the ark,” Kane says, patting Pike’s shoulder. “This is Indra. She’s the leader of Trikru and a trusted ally.”
Pike gives her a death stare and says, “I’ll have to take your word for it.”
“Indra is one of us,” you snap defensively. “She’s our person.”
The ride to the trading post is almost as tense as it was when you thought the Ice Nation wanted to attack. Soon as Monty pulls up to the building, Kane and Bellamy jump out. You wait a beat before doing the same.
Kane raises his hand, silently telling everyone to stop walking. You can hear what sounds like fighting coming from inside the trading post. Bellamy runs inside and pulls the trigger. Coming in behind him, you clap your eyes at women with long braided hair covered in blood.
You lower your gun and approach her cautiously. “Are you okay? We mean you no harm.”
The grounder was looking startled, biting at the inside of her cheeks. Not wanting to scare her further, you back off.
Indra looks down at the body of the man Bellamy just killed and says, “He’s a bounty hunter.”
“He would have been looking for Clarke.”
When Indra speaks to the women in Trig, Pike barks, “English!”
Kane looks slightly taken aback but quickly says, “Pike, go outside. Take Monty and Hannah with you; search the perimeter; and make sure he is alone.”
You watch the three of them leave, and you can't shake off the uneasy feeling that has settled deep within your bones. There was just something off about Pike, his hatefulness towards Indra. It wasn’t right. Just as you go, turn your head back around and spot a shadow in the doorway.
Finn.
Deep down, you knew he wasn’t really there; he was dead. But you stare at the doorway in a trance, waiting for him to walk in, until Bellamy shakes your shoulder and says, “Are you ready?”
“Uh yeah,” you didn’t want to admit you had completely zoned out.
He looks at you concerned but doesn’t say anything about it. “We might know where Clarke is.”
Turning back to face the grounder, you give her a genuine smile and say, “Thank you.”
“Niylah.”
“Thank you, Niylah.”
You follow the tracks. Monty is spotted through the forest and out into an open field. You walk beside Indra silently as she leads the way. Multiple thoughts were racing through your mind at once, and you just wished you could close the noise in your brain off.
Indra stops walking and holds up her hand. “Quiet. Listen.”
The beating sounds in the distance make you feel sick; it takes you back to the night Finn handed himself over to Lexa. Quietly, you ask, “War drums?”
“Azgeda.”
Using the scope on your gun, you try to locate the exact location where the sound is coming from.
“You can tell it’s Ice Nation from the sound.” Monty asks.
“No,” she says, pointing to three dead bodies on the ground. “From them.”
Pike and Bellamy cover the others while they move their bodies, so the grounders don’t think you’ve killed anyone. You spot movement in the distance. “Holy shit, it’s Clarke.”
Her blonde hair has red streaks in it; she’s covered in dirt, but it was unmistakably hers. Feeling vibrations, you move the scope over to the right and spot an army marching directly into the path of Clarke and whoever had her bound and gagged.
Bellamy goes to run to her. Pike stops him, saying, “You’ll never make it in time.”
You crouch down and say, “We need to wait for the army to pass before getting Clarke. If they see us, we’re all dead.”
Monty points out caves nearby, which would be the best place for you to wait for the army to pass. You notice Indra lingering behind the rest of the group. “Aren’t you coming?”
“I can’t go with you.”
“Why not?”
She looks at you and Kane. “The nation has crossed the border; they’re marching against my commander. I have to warn her.”
Kane nods understandingly and says, “We’ll find Clarke.”
“You better. The ice queen gets her first; she’ll be dead, and we’ll be at war.”
Inside the cave, you sit closest to the entrance, keeping an eye out for any enemies approaching, while the others sit further in the darkness, trying to get some sleep. You felt conflicted; you wanted to save Clarke and were willing to save your life to do that, but she also abandoned her people. Once she was saved, would Clarke even want to go back? You didn’t want to break Abby’s heart when you returned without her daughter.
Bellamy sits down beside you, and he squeezes your thigh lightly. It gives you comfort to feel his touch; he was the only person who made you feel safe. “What are you thinking about?”
“Indra. I wonder if she made it to her commander.”
“Hey,” he softly tilts your chin up and pecks your lips. “She’s strong, she’ll make it.”
Sighing, you rest your head on his shoulder. You listen intently as Hannah and Pike explain how Monty’s father died trying to save children who were being killed off by grounders.
“That was an ice nation,” Kane says. “Not all grounders are the same.”
“They are to me,” the words roll off Pikes tongue like poison.
You grip Bellamy's hand, holding onto him tightly. Not knowing what to say, you resume staring outside the cave, watching the army march by. Your eyes slowly flicker down to the three dead bodies laying not far from you, and a dangerous idea pops into your head.
“Bell?” You whisper.
“Yeah.”
“How much do you trust me?”
As you step onto the open field, the familiar sense of dread washes over you as you try your best to blend in with the army. You were surprised that Bellamy agreed with your idea of taking the clothes and masks of the dead men to blend in with the Azgeda army. It was probably one of the riskiest decisions you had made in a long time. Bellamy didn’t directly answer your question, but his actions led you to believe he did completely trust you.
In a low voice, he says, “If I get caught, you keep going, no matter what.”
“Ditto.”
You breathe in sharply before separating from his side to join the army. None of them glanced an eye in your direction as you slowly made your way to the opposite side of the army and into the woods. You’ve become so used to Bellamy observing you that you know it’s him walking a short distance behind you.
You finally stop when you reach a tree with blood on it and pull your mask off. “They can’t be far.”
“Over there,” Bellamy points to a bunker. “I’ll go in first; cover me.”
You check that nobody else is watching as he goes down the stairs, and once you’re sure the area is clear, you do the same. He waits for you at the bottom, saying, “We’ll check each side.”
Nodding, you start to walk in the opposite direction, but you only take a few steps before feeling cold metal pressing against your throat and a hand covering your mouth. The blade nips at your neck as Grounder forces you to walk towards Bellamy as he takes the gag out of Clarke’s mouth. Her hands are tied behind her back around a pole, preventing her from leaving.
“Untie Wanheda, and I’ll slit her throat.”
Bellamy attempts to fight the grounder, but is quickly knocked to the ground. His eyes are filled with fear as he begs, “Please, don't hurt her! Just let her go!”
“No,no!” Clarke protests. “I'll stop fighting and go with you. Please! Just don't kill them.”
You tilt your head back and bite down hard on the grounder's finger, causing him to yell loudly in pain. The last thing you remember is a sudden pain in the side of your head and hearing Clarke scream before everything goes black.

🥂 and 🤍!
[thank you for the ask! will be answering for my the 100 dr, s/o is raven reyes]
🥂 — how did you two meet and how did you relationship progress? ⋅ me and raven met in season 2, when skaikru and trikru met to discuss a peace treaty. raven is a part of skaikru. i am not a part of trikru [i am hosakru, a clan i created] but i am there at this meeting because lincoln and lexa both invited me for different reasons. the first time we met we didn't get to speak much. over time i become friends with john murphy, and get to know raven more through him. then, we become close when skaikru comes to me to help resolve the ALIE issue in season 3.
🤍 — what are your love languages VS. your s/o’s? How do you show theirs and how do they show yours? ⋅ i really value quality time through sharing/learning each other's interests. i will teach raven how to speak trigedasleng and ride horses, and she will teach me to help out with her mechanic work, and about space. she values physical touch and words of affirmation. words of encouragement do a lot for her, especially to get through tough times. she's also a more physical affection type of person, who doesn't mind pda. i think this is also reflected in her common habits of touching her necklace. she always wants something tactile [many times ends up being my hair lol]

On worldbuilding for drs:
I don’t want to claim to be an expert. However, I have taken a semester of specifically worldbuilding-oriented english writing, on top of being a literal english major. Needless to say, I think I know a *few* things on worldbuilding when it comes to fictional works. But drs are different beasts entirely.
When you’re writing, it’s easy to say “oh this is 20 miles from this” and leave it at that. But when you’re mapping/planning out new locations in a dr, for example, a post-dystopia where society is restarting at around the middle age- it’s important to be very aware of actual societal patterns and the WHY people would settle there. Understanding the fundamentals of human behavior is important for understanding worldbuilding as a whole.
Your world can look however. A remodeled United States, such as I have in my The 100 DR, won’t have the exact same lines for nations/communities. However, some nation/state lines exist for a reason. Most commonly, bodies of water. Large rivers or lakes in geography affect how people settle those areas. In the United States (which I’m using, because I have the most knowledge of the country and purely for that reason), the great lake area is incredibly fertile and has mild enough weather to be hospitable for all kinds of plants and livestock to survive year round. You can even weave this into land disputes- early english settlers to the ohio river valley fought a war with the indigenous tribes of the area for basically one reason- Beaver pelt. It was extremely valuable and actually they hunted beaver in the area to near extinction during and after the war. One people wanting certain land for purely agricultural and hunting reasons is a thing that has happened historically, and can be used as conflict points in a dr.
Language is also an interesting point. Sure, you can make up a language. That works fine. But also, knowing linguistics and incorporating aspects of cr language into your dr can make it more “realistic” and easier to learn and understand. Most languages stem from ancient languages- things like Latin and ancient Sumerian have stemmed into modern day English, Spanish, German, and even various Indian and broadly Asian languages. Using a post-dystopian US-centered example, you can take English and modify it to realistically have changed with times and cultures. Sticking with my 100 dr, there’s an existing language called Trigedasleng.
It’s derivative english. “Kom” in Trigeda is derived from “Come” in English, which ends up actually translating to something like “From” or “Of (the)” in English. “Kru” is directly derived from “Crew” on english, which means “people” in actual translation. “Heda” directly translates to “Leader” or “Commander,” but is derived from the English word “Head.” The head is in charge of the body, the Heda is in charge of the people. Trigedasleng is actually a “full” language developed by the writers of the TV show and even has an online translator. However, for my DR, I’m working on a lot more actual changes in the two languages, Trigedasleng and English. Only certain words have changed in canon, and I’m making a significant number of words actually change from their English counterparts.
Language also constitutes culture and societal differences. Does your dr society speak only one language, are multiple languages used? If they are post-dystopia, is the language entirely new, or derived? Again, in my dr, English is still used and spoken- but only specifically by Grounder warriors. Merchants, farmers, metalworkers, etc. only speak Trigedasleng. English is a language that has survived, but not thrived, during the rebuilding of society. Language can also be used to express class and status. Is knowing English a tell of formal education? Is speaking a “slang” version of a language used as a way to express lower classes or poverty? Take a look at American AAVE, used predominantly in poorer black communities. It’s English- with slight adjustments.
Take into account topography as well. If there is a mountain on one side, there may be a desert on the others. Take the Rockies for example, most of the land on the opposite side is desert because the mountains shield the brunt of the weather. If a society lives by the ocean or a big lake, the chances are that society has developed boats and use fishing techniques. If they live in snow areas, chances are they hunt rather than depending too heavily on agriculture yield. Valleys deep enough may have different weather than even just a few miles up in flatlands. Bogs, swamps, and other still water sources pose dangers to humans because of the species who live there, such as mosquitoes carrying malaria or aquatic reptiles such as alligators and crocodiles, or poisonous snakes. Therefore, it’s unlikely for a society to suddenly desire to live in the middle of the swamp, especially if they only have rudimentary technology.
Illnesses are also important to consider. For worldbuilding, it’s as much about the people and cultures as it is the physical map. Does one group have an immunity to one illnesses where another doesn’t, such as the real life application with the English bringing smallpox to the Americas? Would one group avoid another because they think they’re “sick,” whether literally or religiously? Religions are also a huge aspect of culture. We see it present even today in conflicts, and it also changes where people want to settle. Is there a “holy land” that the devout make pilgrimages to? Is there a blessed area that people believe if they can live there, they will prosper? Including the actual gods or deities in your dr is an entire other choice- but even if those religions are false or contradict other religions, people will still believe. It’s human nature to seek divine explanations when practical ones fall short.
If anyone has further questions, my asks *should* be open! I could rant about worldbuilding for hours.
Also, for reference, here are two (very rudimentary lmao) maps for my The 100 dr *some locations are changed from canon*:

Hey, so I saw this, and your other one, so here's some background information to help orient things:
Trigedasleng is a language. It's a created language, and it's descended from English, but it's an entire language, not a code or a writing system. In order to translate things from English into Trigedasleng, you have to know the language and translate it, the way you would any other.
During the course of the show, I never had cause to create a unique writing system for Trigedasleng. Consequently, we just use the Romanization system I devised to write it.
The symbology on the various tattoos in the series have nothing to do with the language.
You can find a lot of information on Trigedasleng and many other languages I've created on my wiki at wiki.languageinvention.com.
There's an entire community that uses Trigedasleng and creates their own vocabulary. They have a Tumblr called @slakgedakru and they are primarily on Discord now.
So I know I or others have translated some of these into Trigedasleng already somewhere. I'm hoping Slakkru can find it, and maybe they can add it via reblog? It might be searchable on the web, too. We'll get to it; I just can't at the moment (traveling and busy). But this is a start.
Trigedasleng
Hey @dedalvs
Im a huge fan of the Tv-series The 100 and absolutely love the language you made for the series. I was thinking about getting a tattoo from the show (something like maybe the one Lexa has on her back) but wanted to see if you could possibly help me with the language? I know that on her tattoo there are symbols but i dont know what they mean (even if they mean something) and was hoping that you could translate some phrases from normal english to Trigedasleng for me since i want some nice messages/phrases on it.
The most helpful ¨help¨ I think i could get from you is answering if you were using a alphabet to write the phrases in Trigedasleng and if so do you have it? And is there a special method on how to use the alphabet to write words or is it kinda like straight up English?
Some phrases i would love to know what means would probably be something like:
-Never alone
-Love is strength
-May we love again
-In love, may you find the right/next one
-Until the final journey on the ground, may we meet again
I would love to get some phrases that might just be nice or have a strong meaning.
I really hope you answer this! Im a huge fan and would love to get help from such a creative and inspiring guy like you!

can anyone, anyone tell me what the heck the purpose of Trigedasleng is? There's some explanations out there about how it developed in a matter of a few generations, but I mean, dude, seriously, it just doesn't make sense for them to speak an entirely new language in a matter of three generations, okay

Hello! I have been trying to find out if there is a Trigedasleng word for Phantom, but I have come up short.
you wouldnt happen to just know that would you?
Dokwocha is a word for "ghost". I find often, though, with questions like this there is often an expectation that there will be an exact match for a particular synonym that exist in English. For example, in the neighborhood of "ghost", we have spectre, phantasm, ghoul, spook, phantom, geist, poltergeist, spirit, shade, etc. You may look at some of these words and say, "Well, but that doesn't quite mean exactly the same thing," and I'm sure you're right, but the reason we have all these words is they come from different languages at different points in time history from different stories, different cultures, different traditions, etc. Their histories are quite specific, and so the odds of finding an exact match in a language that doesn't share the same history are astronomical. For a more absurd example, it's kind of like asking what the Dothraki word for "skibidi" is. Obviously that's an extreme example, but it's the same issue.
Now, Trigedasleng, of course, is unique. It derives from English. But it derives in an extremely contrived, unrealistic way. There was a massive schism that occurred with the nuclear event. American culture—world culture—effectively vanished over night for most people. What remained would have been what was committed to memory, then what the next generation remembered, and then what they passed on, and so forth. My assumption is that a lot of the synonyms that populate English vocabulary would have been lost. What synonyms remained would've taken on a more functional load in order to be retained (e.g. las from "last" means "previous", but praya from "prior" only means something like "baggage"; it lost its "previous" meaning)—at least at first. Synonyms come later.
When it comes to something so heavily cultural like "ghosts" I tried to imagine how superstitions would have reemerged within Grounder culture before the events of The 100—what kind of ghost stories they may have told, what they were afraid of, what kind of supernatural beings they may have dreamed up. I came up with the idea of dokwocha from "dock watcher"—one who watches from the docks—and thought it sounded ominous. I didn't have a specific story in mind, but it sounded like the type of thing older children might warn younger ones of. "Beware of the watcher on the docks!" Sounded spooky and fun. Hence, dokwocha. I don't know if it evokes the same thing as "phantom", or if, for whatever reason, you decided dokwocha wasn't good enough for "phantom", but that's what we have at the moment.
A commenter mentioned they thought it came from "dark watcher", and I actually went back and looked at the etymology and it does!!! That's my bad there. It is dark watcher, not dock watcher, and that makes sense (someone that watches in the dark). Duh. lol This is why you have to write these things down—which I did—and why you have to read the things that you write down—which I did not. >.<

The thing about the Siblings that is the most terrifying is that they never stop learning.
It's like a bottomless pit, their desire to learn everything they can get their grubby blue hands on, and it's unnerving how quickly they pick things up.
Languages are a breeze for them, and as a result their code is constantly evolving.
Old Norse, Ojibwe (Anishinaabemowin), Interslavic (look it up), Trigedasleng (the 100), Gaulish, and Sumerian are just a few of the other languages the Siblings have decided to learn to some degree or another.
Ravi has a particularly unsettling interest in war tactics, military history, and different styles of martial arts. Miles, and others, get to learn the full scope of his knowledge when playing the assault on Bridgehead.
Reyzi took to medicine like a flame to oil, by fiften she had read every medical textbook, research paper, and article in Hell's Gate's system. Topics she took interest in including biomedical engineering, neuroscience, and the process behind creating an avatar. She knows both the human and na'vi body inside and out, and she uses this knowledge to her advantage.
Ro'eyk, to no one's surprise, specialized in chemistry, physics, engineering, and the history of weapons manufacturing. At thirteen, he made his own recreation of Greek Fire, and by fifteen he had taken apart every weapon in Hell's Gate's armoury and put it back together.
Of course, they tend to share their knowledge amongst themselves, and at times you might almost think they have a hive mind.
It's unclear what is more terrifying; the siblings having a hive mind, or that they are so connected that they don't need one.
and with their different forms of memory (photographic and eidetic) they could just about learn everything. they absorb everything, even passing details, and that's whats scary. they can't even leave the kids near the kids near the RDA science pukes, because the kids will remember everything they say and they will use it against them. they also know that if one sibling knows something, they all know it.
the recoms do not get a single moment of rest with those 3, 4 when spider is also in on their bullshit (affectionately dubbed that by the recoms) which is more often than not.
they know one wrong move from them, letting the siblings around the wrong person, anything of the likes of that, and someone's screwed and the blame could easily fall on them.
(also, I totally hc that ravi was a latin boy, he could recite latin in his sleep, it was one of his favorite, normal things to study)

These two characters have been living in my head rent free lately and I thought to myself, Spider and Madi would make an epic duo fighting alongside each other and even being friends.
A) Both are orphans of war
B) They both share parent trauma (Spider’s parents died attempting to protect what they thought was humanity’s only way to survive, and Madi’s parents died attempting to keep her safe against the Fleimkepas and other warriors in the last minutes of Praimfaya before the Earth was scorched in fire)
C) Both have grown up in a forest (Spider in Omatikaya territory, and Madi in Shallow Valley)
D) They’re both children turned teens that carry a lot of baggage for such a young age and are very aware of it
E) They both wish to be normal
D) They’re both loyal, stubborn, independent, selfless and loving
F) They’re not afraid to fight back
G) Their genetics makes them different from everyone else (Spider is a human amongst Na’vi, Madi is a natural born Natblida amongst red blooded Grounders)
H) Speak another native language besides English (Spider Na’vi Omatikaya dialect, Madi Trigedasleng)
I) Both are allies to clans related to trees (Spider = Omatikaya living in the forest, Madi = Trikru also living in the forest)
J) Their allies have human enemies (Omatikaya = RDA humans, Trikru = the Mountain Men)
K) They’re both adopted by others in a way without calling them “mom” or “dad” (Spider = Norm and Max, Madi = Clarke)
L) Both have curly hair!
M) They’ve been taken at least once by evil forces (Spider taken by RDA and Recoms, Madi taken over by Sheidheda and The Primes of Sanctum)
N) Both know how to use weapons to defend and attack (Spider = bow and knife, Madi = swords, knives, guns, and traps)
O) Both are surrounded by future tech (Spider = RDA, Madi = Eligius)
P) Both are involved in some type of neural connection (Spider surrounded by Eywa and living creatures using queues, Madi with The Flame mind chip embedded in her skull)
Q) Both we’re tortured via invasive mind surfing devices (Spider by the RDA, Madi by The Disciples)
R) Both like to joke around, have fun, and try not to think about the craziness of the world around them other than the happy memories they can make
S) They look out for kids near their age (Spider with the Sully siblings, and Madi with Luca and the Sanctumite children)
T) They’re both children born into wars they didn’t ask to be a part of, but stay strong for those they care about and make the best of their situations
U) Both wear some type of paint on their bodies (Spider with blue paint, Madi with her own blood)
I have other ideas of them meeting in different scenarios. I’ll share them in separate posts, but let me know what you guys think of the above info! And if you have any scenario ideas you’d like to see these two in?

Ten languages!! bro. how. and what are they
I didn't have any friends until I was like. 18-19. So I used to hide in like a janitors closet at breaks and lunch, jam a chair under the door handle, and learn languages instead. The library had to order in a bunch of language books for me
That was a long time ago but I still remember the very basics of Finnish, Estonian, Egyptian Arabic, Polish, Russian
And I speak/understand decent Dutch, German, French and Spanish
And then there's Trigedasleng, a conlang by @dedalvs because I am a nerd
I always had a great mind for retaining vocab and I pick up accents really well, but grammar was my downfall Every Time. I'd get to a certain point and hit some grammar point (genders in German, different types of past tense in Spanish) that just. Would not compute, and I'd get stuck at that level. I wanted to be a translator at one point but the tism brain just won't grammar well (or translate fast enough). I could get by with like, visiting the countries though

I saw you helped out with the formatting for scraps for laika, out of curiosity do you write your own fics?
Theres one. Its short and im horrendous at updating it. Not abandoned but like, not a priority of mine. Ive speculated about other stuff i could write in fandom as well - I think i could write Wednesday very well from the Netflix show in part because of my own low empathy and sensory issues, for example. And id love to do something with language and write a fic with lots of Trigedasleng or one with a focus on Kryptonian culture which I think is really interesting to muse on. But no, I dont really write fanfiction.

i was thinking the entire time that the fremen language in dune sounds like something david j peterson would’ve developed… and it turns out david j peterson did make the language for dune.
(fyi, david made dothraki and valyrian in game of thrones and also trigedasleng in the 100.)

This is my main. Trigedasleng, clexa, other fandoms, occasionally ranting about politics, queerness and poverty although I'm trying to do less of that (and focus on the positive when I do) for my own mental health. Most tags are in trigedasleng, because it's a living language for me. Ask me for trigedasleng translations!
Sideblogs:
Kate's Day Cabin: outer space, sci fi, Star Trek, Wars, Traveller, etc. Also where I put my flight sim and flying humor posts.
Gay Greyhawk Grodnard Girl: Dungeons & Dragons, fantasy art & lit. Lately getting taken over by medieval and SCA posts. NOW WITH LATIN!
Del Coronado 2020: cyberpunk, computers, virtual reality, contemporary tech and privacy. This blog has disappeared without my permission or consent. I have a ticket open but so far @staff has not responded.
Kate's Foxhole: Warhammer 40K. Mostly art, some headcanons, very little about the tabletop game (so far at least).
