Bare Wit Me A Roman Reigns One Shot

"I just don't understand why you can't just commit" Roman says, head in his hands. We've had an ongoing situationship for god knows how long. I like him..... I really do but I'm scared. He's already committed 200% to me but I can't do it. The thought of giving him every part of me makes my insides twist. I can't let what happened to me happen again, I want to trust him but I won't be caught slipping up again. "Roman..... I'm sorry. I like what we have going now. You know what I went through I just can't do it again" I plead.

Roman huffs loudly, rubbing his temples with his eyes closed. "Let me change it. Let me show you that I won't ever do that to you" Roman says. As much as I want to, my heart is on defense.... Tired of hurting. Despite his hard ass persona, Roman has a huge soft spot for me and as much as i want to deny it, I have one for him. Silence fills the room as I sit there, twiddling my fingers avoiding eye contact with him. "Okay" Roman says softly before getting up and leaving the room. I hear my front door shut, and tears flow from my eyes uncontrollably. Am I protecting myself or am I just a fucking idiot who just lost the love of her life?

I sob myself to sleep, waking the next morning to puffy eyes. I get up, take care of myself, and put clean pajamas on. I begin watching my comfort show when I hear a knock at my door. I open it to see Roman holding a bunch of bags. "Can I come in?" He asks. I allow him in, I'm sort of in shock that he's here.... I never thought I'd see him again. He sits the bags down on my countertop. "I got you some stuff" He says while sifting through the giant bags. "I got you your favorite snacks" He continues "And I know how much you love elephants, so I got you this glass elephant". My eyes widen with joy as he pulls more and more out of the bags.

"And I remembered you said your feet are always cold at night so I got you a bunch of fuzzy socks. Oh and some hair ties because you always lose them" Roman rambles "I- it's just even if we're never going to be together I wanted to show you that you're worthy of being loved. Even if after this moment we never see each other again.... You deserve to feel love even if you don't think you do". i'm stunned... No one has ever paid this much attention to me, much less remember all of these small things. How could I have been so stupid? My person is right here in front of me and I could have lost him because of my own baggage.

"I don't want you to think I'm trying to buy you, I just wanted to drop this stuff off to you I-" Roman begins before I interrupt him by pulling him into a deep passionate kiss. His eyes widen before they close and we melt together. His big hands make their way to the sides of my head, pressing my soft curls against my face. Our lips separate and your eyes lock. "I'm in love with you" I say "I'm so in love with you". Roman smiles "Now let me love you back then" He says before pulling me in for another kiss

So, I think I have a Roman Reigns AU in the work but...I'm not sure about it just yet, so I thought I'd post a little excerpt and get some of your thoughts. Also this is the first Roman Reigns fic I'm writing so I'm also a little shy about that...but anyway here it is:

Untitled fic idea:

Being the daughter of the leader of one of the most powerful nations in the world was...lonely for a lack of better words. A sentiment many would find surprising coming from Lori of all people. After all she had plenty of friends (on daddy's payroll) and was set to be married to Jey Uso, a literal prince and one of the most eligible men on the market. What more was there to be left to be desired? Roman Reigns. The tribal chief, they called him. The most powerful and feared man in the world and most importantly, Jey's cousin and handler. He's also the man Lori's been fucking since the beginning of this sham of an engagement but...semantics.
