Music Spotlight: Sebastian Mikael
We’re serving up a piping hot fresh serving of crooning vocals. Sebastian Mikael (@liteastwood) is here to make your day a little better. His latest EP, I C U U C ME, PT. 1, shows off just how smooth this singer is. We were lucky enough to land a little interview with the man himself to talk about his style and the importance of creation. Take a bite below.
How would you describe your sound?
I would describe it as futuristic fonk, if you will.
How would you describe your personal style?
I would describe my style as a mix between 70s and modern drip.
Dream collaboration and why?
Kendrick Lamar. I think he’s one of the greatest of our generation. I love his message and appreciate his contribution to our culture. He gets the fonk.
You created your new album in your room in Boston. What was the most challenging part of the process?
Trying to finish up what I was doing before my girl got home from work. We share the room and when she gets back, she’s the boss; so, I had to work around that when creating my music.
Based on your musical journey so far, what’s been your biggest takeaway/piece of advice?
Be unapologetically you. Trust in your ideas and trust your vision.
If you weren’t making music, what would you be doing?
I’d still be creating. I look at myself as a creator even if it’s not music. I’m always involved in fashion. I paint. I’m also interested in visuals, so I’d still be creating but in a different art medium.
Want to hear more from Sebastian Mikael? Of course you do. Follow him at @liteastwood, and then swing on over here to listen to his new EP.
